Damage Control....Saturday!

Hi Ya Peeps!:)

Today's work out will be Mix It Up. I was considering adding on a short cardio afterwards but I don't think I'm going to after all. My cals were nice and low y'day. Perhaps these work outs do not make me as hungry. This could be a GOOD thing. I want to see for sure and doing cardio on the same day could mess it up. I have a run planned for tmrw anyway. I plan on doing 2 days of SS followed by 1 day of cardio with 1 rest day per week. Not alot of cardio but like I said, if SS allows me to eat less it may work out for me. Never know until ya try, right? ;)

Jen:: I guess I missed alot with you. What's up with your heel? Were your kids on vacation with their dad or something? Were they as happy to see you as you were to see them? :p DH is still outta work but should be going back before EOM. This being said, we should be cool for the CT trip still. I marked it down. I'm getting excited!!!! :D I got on the scale this morning....after one day of good eating and not even doing any cardio, I dropped almost 3 pounds! If folks only realized what consistent crappy eating can do....Then perhaps they would stop  at me when I refuse to eat crap at times.

Diana:: Oh man I hate when that happens! Waking up on a Friday thinking it's Saturday isn't as bad as if it were really a MONDAY though! LOL On the other hand though, I love it when I wake up in a panic thinking I overslept for work and realize it's the weekend. ;) I am going to resist doing KBs with you for now although I may just find a way to stick a weekly KB work out into my current rotation for fun! :D You are just now previewing the Powerstrike dvd you bought from me or is this a different one that you purchased? Hey, you have no interest in Insanity? It's very much cardio based so I thought you might want it. :)

Jacque:: SS is Slim Series. It's the follow up to Slim in 6. Same concept but more advanced. I have gotten comments on my upper body as well. My DH's female cousin and my male cousin have both complemented me on my arms in the recent past. I LOVE IT! :D Now just think how many more complements I'd get if I could lose some of this fat! :p So you are still wavering on the GWF? I thought you might have taken the plunge by now. ;)

Looks like I'm all caught up so I'll BBL!

Morning girlies !

I'm up and at 'em with the Clean/Water Max so far. Got a physical scheduled for life insurance and need to get more done before that happens. Kinda at an odd time so not sure when I'll get my workout in. SIL stopped by y'day with a few of the nieces just as I was getting up to hit the TM. By the time they left DH was ready to start the BBQ for dinner - should have only taken 45 min from there so not enough time for me to water and fix dinner before dark. Well . . . we sat down to eat more than 2 hours later ! Go figure that one. Why haven't I learned to just have him start dinner, then go workout? Kinda wonder sometimes how he can manage a crew of workers but can't figure out how I can get all my stuff done WHILE dinner is cooking?

So I guess I rested my legs yesterday - will hit the TM or possibly the road if the appointment doesn't take too long and it is cool enough. Looks like it may take a while to warm up. Then I can clean carpets since it's hot enough to dry them.

Wendy - You and I are doing opposite it sounds like. That dilemma of strength vs fat burning and the studies saying you can't do both. For me, cardio doesn't require as much food - in fact it usually requires me to drink more water and I am usually not very hungry after a long run or a hard Imax, etc. So SS is weight work endurance style? After STS and not much cardio I feel like I gained lots of fat cuz I was so hungry. The lighter endurance weights don't make me as hungry but are keeping me toned just fine. ITA if I lost the fluff surrounding my muscles I'd look pretty darn good too! For me though part of it is my age and the fact many females over 50 have let themselves go or don't bother strength training. I have much less competition that some of you ! ;) BUT I really only do it for myself as I am not one who likes compliments - it has been a long road for me to be thankful and appreciative when I receive them.

Well hey to the rest of you - hope you enjoy the day off from work (unless you are working Lori - then I hope it is an easy day for you!:p)

BBL to see what the haps are . . .

Mornin' Girls,

I slept in this morning...it was great. The darn TV woke me up and I was set to start yelling at someone, but then I looked at the clock and realized it was 9am.

I had intended on getting up and going for a run this morning but it is already too hot to run. It's a KB day anyway but wanted to add the cardio in also. It's time for breakfast so may eat and then go mow the lawn. DH said we could clean out the garage this weekend..yeah. I made a to-do list and we can start working on it.

The rotation I'm planning on doing will be alternate days of cardio and kb's and every 4th weight workout will be full body Cathe or Amy weight workout.

Wendy-Yep, just now previewing powerstrike...the one I bought from you. Sad but true. I am actually very interested in Insanity! It looks awesome. Unfortunately it's not in the budget at this time. I need to pay off my last 2 trips to Oregon. I think the only thing left on the card is the car rental and will pay that off this month. The GWF is still on my mind too. So much to buy....too little money. I hate that but would rather spend the money when I have it and not before.

Jacque-have you checked out Insanity on the Beach Body website??? I'm very interested in it. I would never give up my weight training. I think it is far too important, especially for women. Even in BFFM, Tom Venuto says to do the amount of cardio that is necessary for weight loss, that amount will be different for everyone. I need a lot of cardio and I know that.

Waving hello to Jen, Lori, Laura...

...back to report my workout. I just finished Providence and I am spent!!! I planned on a cardio w/o too but that will have to wait until later...Once it cools off a bit later I will take care of the lawn.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hello again ladies.

Well I did Mix It Up this morning and really enjoyed it! It layered on to my already worked legs from yesterday and hit the upper body pretty good too! She also worked abs again. I definitely felt it and was sweating. :)

This afternoon we spent a couple hours at DH's cousin's house by the pool. Now, after a nap and a cup of java, we are cleaning up and getting ready to make dinner. DH is grillin' steak. I'll probably have some chicken. Not sure what DS decided to have.

Diana:: Don't you wish that money grew on trees? I don't actually. I have no trees on my property so I'd be flat broke! :p Now if money grew on honey suckle or weeds, I'd be rich! :D Hope you make it out to take care of the lawn later. Will you run later on or do something else for cardio?

Jacque:: I think you can burn fat and gain strength at the same time but you can't build muscle and burn fat at the same time. I mean I did P90X and lost body fat and got stronger at the same time. I need to do that rotation again one day. Those are by far THE BEST results I have EVER gotten from a work out program or rotation to date!!! To bad my lazy arse keeps putting it off! :p

Okay, the boys are cleaned up. Time to get dinner goin'....BBL!

Well we just got back from Transformers. Went to the movies where there was A/C. I'm sitting here sweating but not from working out - it's 100' again and just too doggone hot to workout. Nothing going on tomorrow AM so working out will be the first thing I do. Especially since we have IL's 50th anniv dinner at a grease pit that SIL & BIL absolutely love - it's a YUCK restaurant in our opinion but not our anniv so we'll brave it.

Diana - good to hear you got your beauty sleep ! ;) Your KB/cardio/FB rotation sounds like a winner. Lots of added cardio but weight work too ! So I've been reading the forum opinions on Insanity - looks like a killer cardio type of rotation there. Then checked out the website. It does look excellent. Seems like Shock Cardio may be similar though. Not sure how many DVD's I really need. . . may be better off spending the $ on a GWF but not sure I want to have that band on my arm at work with short sleeves since we are in the middle of summer and it's too dang hot to wear more clothing. (As I sit in my house and feel a big line of sweat dripping down the middle of my back ). I just can't quite decide yet. I'd like to keep up my running and FB workouts for now. Will throw in a KB next week instead of Jillian. I adore the AOS KB's ! Talk about a sweatfest ! Did you make any headway with your garage? I'm getting a bit excited as the hockey schedule came out next week. Time to plan our games for the upcoming season. So Joe retired this year? Now whose next on your list?

Wendy - Nice job on working the legs and core lots. Good areas to double up on. Wish we had a pool to visit like you did - (another line of sweat drips down my back- time to go eat in an A/C restaurant I think !) So it's possible to build strength but not "bulk" and lose fat? That would be good. P90X seemed pretty heavy on the weight work if I remember correctly. Only for me I got bored rather quickly. I only made it through about 4 or 5 weeks and then stopped. I had hoped STS would have the strength gain and fat loss but it sure didn't work that way for me. One of these days I'll figure something out as I keep trying different types of workouts.

Off to cool down before I melt ! :p

Back in the AM AFTER I workout so I don't get caught up in the computer surfing. :D

Enjoy the evening ladies !
