Damage Control on this Labor Day Monday!

Good Morning Chickadees. :)

Heading out of the house very early this morning. DH entered a race that he and I ran together last year. I didn't want to run it this year-I haven't raced at all-so he will do it while DS and I watch from the sidelines and then we will go out for breakfast.

Y'day's trip to the boardwalk was not a big success. We were there for a couple hours and were about to stop for dinner when DS threw his final crying fit of the evening. :eek: DH had had enough by that point, picked him and we went home. DS was NOT happy. He screamed almost the whole way home. We left all of the other kids there with my mom and my aunt having a blast and we had to leave but he did it to himself. I must say that I was not unhappy about leaving though. Especially because it meant I narrowly escaped eating dinner there!;) My calorie intake for the day y'day was a bit higher then I would have liked it to be but my ratios were fine and my weight is down a pound as of this morning after gaining weight due to Friday's indulgences at dinner. :)

Hopefully today will be a better day. :)

OMG-did I have DOMS y'day. My upper body felt it a little bit for most of the day but then last night after we got home from the boardwalk it kicked in big time in my legs. I think today is a rest day for me so I'll definitely be forcing myself to do a stretch or yoga or something. I think I need it.

I guess that's it for me. I truly do not have time to read y'day's posts and write personals right now. I'll come and do that when we get home later.

Hope everyone has a great morning.

BBL!

Back from the race and from breakfast. DH did good. He ran about a 10 min mile average which is great considering he only ran 3x prior to running this race. Breakfast was yummy. DS and I shared an order of banana pancakes. I was good. I didn't order any greasy meat side dish. DS had 1 pancake and I had 2. I don't feel very much guilt over it. The only thing I ate otherwise was a 1/2 ounce of almonds on the way to the race so that I wouldn't be starving. Now I should be good until lunch. :)

BBL to see who's around!

Morning ladies !

Not happy it is already Monday, but oh well . . .

Made some progress on my patching but didn't get to my painting yet. :confused: The kids will be staying here tomorrow nite after we go to the aquarium so need to do some Clean Max too ! Will be a productive day and not thnking I'll do a workout but we'll see. Will start Insanity tomorrow though.

Wendy - well great job for DH there ! Good job getting yourself out of the boardwalk dinner too ! ;) Banana pancakes sound delish ! That's an idea for my oatmeal pancakes. Bet some banana in them would be good. That would be a switch since I usually just boil some mixed berries, mush them and make a "sauce" to put on them. Different flavor may be refreshing.

Well I have a "feather baby" here picking apart my carpet and furniture so think I better get her back to her cage before some major destruction starts here ! :eek: She has never picked at the carpet before ? ? ?

BBL

I'm back for personals.

Heading out this afternoon to the outlets and to try and hit mini golf again like we were supposed to a few weeks ago but got rained out. They are having sales today so I am hoping to be able to pick up that other t-shirt I was eyeballing!! :)

Diana:: I don't know if I realized you had purchased the Deluxe Insanity set. I can't even fathom what Insane Abs is like! Cardio Abs is hard enough and even HARDER if you do it immediately following Pure Cardio! As was the case for me y'day! :eek: So how did that ice cream dessert for your MIL's Birthday turn out? What exactly was it? It hardly matters...anything made with ice cream HAS to be good! LOL

Jacque:: Congrats on getting a computer "of your very own"! Now DH can't keep you away from us while he shops for his cars! :p Yeah, I plan to do month 2 with you gals for sure. I don't think I can go month 2 alone. I'm askeered! :eek: So what kind of bird do you have? My DH used to own a cockatoo named "Layla" with his ex-fiancee. When they broke up she took the bird and then ended up giving her away. He wanted her to take the bird initially b/c she would be home more and the bird did not like being alone and would pluck herself bald in protest. Well, when his ex turned around and gave the bird away with out even telling him/offering the bird back to him first that really upset him. We've talked about the possibility of getting some type of larger bird one day but that isn't going to happen any time too soon. So if you wouldn't mind, could ya post or pm me your recipe for the oatmeal pancakes and the nurition info too if you don't mind? I'd LOVE to try them one day!!! :D

Jen:: Hope you got your son's room done last night! Did you give him heck for abandoning the job when he he was the one who wanted to do it in the first place? Hope your weekend was a good one despite that little glitch. So you start Insanity tmrw with the others? Good luck! :p

Guess that's all for now. Almost time for lunch! :D

Poppin' back in before continuing on my chores . . .

Wendy - we used to have 4 birds when we combined households: mine = peachfaced lovebird (Chicklette), blue-fronted amazon (Buckwheat) & harlequin macaw (Lydia) then DH's nanday conure (Travis). The two smaller guys left us a few years ago after very long lives so now we have Buckwheat (21 yrs old) & Lydia (20 yrs old), who was following me around the house this AM. My previous next door neighbor rescued a Moluccan Cockatoo that had a bald chest and nursed him back to health. Too bad DH didn't have the opportunity, however, those cockatoos leave powder all over the house in addition to feathers. Birds are fun but do actually like attention more than children ! :eek: My exDH wanted them but only to show them off to company - he never paid much attention to them otherwise, so when he wanted to sell them for $$ during the divorce my current DH wanted them so we still have them. I'll post some pics one of these days.

The pancake recipe is quick:

4 egg whites,
1/2 cup cottage cheese (2%)
1/2 cup oatmeal

I have found it easiest to use a blender and blend the egg whites with the cottage cheese and then add in the oatmeal while it is blending.

Calories = 290
Fat = 5 gr
Carbs = 30 gr
Protein = 30 gr

Some people add vanilla and/or protein powder but they are pretty perfect without either. I usually make a batch of 4 recipes and either cook them all and reheat during the week or keep the batter in the fridge and it works fine, doesn't separate at all.

I have been making 10 pancakes with my 4 batches since I add a cup of fruit @ 70 cals rather than syrup or PB. Lasts me from 7 until 12 lunchtime.

Off again . . . :D

I just finished Max Recovery. The rotation called for Cardio Recovery but I felt like something longer so I went for it. Aye Carrumba! :eek::eek::eek: Great change up from the intense cardio but certainly not what you call a "relaxing stretch" either! Then again, neither is Cardio Recovery but ofcourse, Max is TOUGHER!!! Lots of push ups, lots of plank position work and one giant thigh burner segment!!! YEOWCH!

All that being said...YUP! I LOVED IT! :D

Jacque:: Thanks a ton for the recipe! I am not an egg person so am hard pressed to get them into my diet. This sounds like a good way to do it...unless ofcourse they are not masked enough by the cottage cheese and the oatmeal so I can't eat them but we'll see. Question! I always eat 1% cottage cheese. Is using 2% a must? I can buy 2% if need be but was just curious. Thanks! :) Yes, definitely post some pics of the birds. My DH would love to see them as well I am sure! :D

Okay time to get showered up. If we are gonna go out we need to get a move on here...well, that's if I can convince DH to get off the couch! :rolleyes::p

BBL or in the morning!

Hi ladies,

I actually tried to post a pretty long post but it didn't go through for some reason. Anyway we are in the middle of moving ds bedroom over. We will never get done today with all the breaks ds takes. I don't want to do it all myself either!

I've also been busy with laundrymax and need to get busy on some cleanmax also.

I'm not sure what w/o I will be doing today. The rotation calls for CPR but I didn't do the fit test yesterday. I'm in dire need of upper body work so may do that first then decide. I noticed switch kicks are on the fit test...I'm sure I looked like a flailing idiot when I was doing those in the w/o.

Wendy-the ice cream dessert is basically crushed oreo crust with german sweet chocolate syrup, mint chip ice cream, more german sweet chocolate syrup and a bit of crushed cookies on top. The family seems to love it! I'm sure max recovery its a toughie...just like cardio recovery...sure not much cardio but its certainly not easy. Tell Sal nice job on his run....especially since he doesn't run on a regular basis. Have a fun day!

Jacque-thanks for the protein pancake recipe. It sounds good and the ratios look good to me also. I heard about the earthquake on the news. Sorry it's messing with your sleep patterns. Nice job setting up the router on your own. Of course, I got mine years ago and gave to DS1 and said "if you set this up you'll have internet access in your room". He had it up and running in less than 30 minutes!

Jen-My DS's room looks like a tornado went through it also. So nice of you to take over and finish the job for him. I have no idea how long this son will take to go through his stuff. All I can say is it will be much longer than I want it to be.

Lori-do you get today off??? Of course planes don't stop flying because of a holiday, they are usually busier.

Enjoy your day ladies. Back to chores for me too...

Hiya girls,

Definitely making some progress in the chore area but still have quite a bit I'd like to accomplish. That being said - I may not be here tomorrow - I'll see how the day goes. I want to get up, get my Insanity completed and then will still have a couple things to do as I like to mop floors as close to the time the kids get here so they are clean for the GS's. Then we'll head out for the aquarium and they are staying the night so not sure I'll be online.

Wendy - not necessary to use 2% but you inquired about the nutrition value and it was based upon the 2%. I use it because it's so much cheaper to buy the biggie at Costco and still really not that much fat. You will be so surprised when you taste these ! They are a little different than a regular pancake but not much. I was amazed but if you look at the ingredients they are close to flour, milk and eggs.

Diana - you have to try the pancakes - they have helped me eat breakfast in the AMs if I already have them made and just heat them up. Quick, easy, tasty and clean eating ! The quake didn't bother me other than wake me up but I guess I had slept enough so it took a while to get back to sleep. Had a super night's sleep last night though so am all caught up ! :p LOL at the rotation showing CPR - I guess CPR is just about what you need after doing Insanity, huh ? ;)

OK - off to more chores for me again also. If I don't make it here tomorrow have a great day ladies !
