Hi Ladies,

Thought I'd start the new months' thread!

I'm meeting my training partner this morning for a brick w/o. We are riding and biking the tri route this morning.

I'm missing weights and need to figure out a way to fit that in, even if it's only 2 FB sessions per week.

Lori-great job on the HM, your are a fast one. My training partner was here a couple nights ago and we signed up for a HM in October. My feet hurt so bad after the 10K, not sure how I got roped into this.

Wendy-glad you found your niche at the training studio! They are lucky to have you!!!

Laura-How is your DM doing? Are you getting to enjoy this weekend or is DH having you work?:eek:

Then lunch and the afternoon spent poolside with DH, DS, my mom and her boyfriend.

1) Skaters, 8 alternating swings into bear crawls

2) Skaters, alternating swings, 5 burpees into bear crawls, repeat Swings

3) Burpees. Skaters, repeat Burpees. Bear Crawls

Can't believe it's Monday already but atleast I wasn't up in the middle of the night like last week!

Good Morning:eek:,

I know...such a slacker. My life just seems to be so hectic. The sun doesn't go down here very early and it's getting heard to get the kids in bed. By the time they go to bed, I'm right behind them:rolleyes:.

Last week and today I have been getting up before work to run. I can't do it every day, like if DH is working nights...but I'm doing it the days I can. I also don't think my body could handle getting up at 5:15 every morning of the week. Maybe I should try going to bed earlier!

The run on Saturday was good. I had shin splits when I started but thankfully they went away. It was a route where we ran, then turned around so i knew that there was only 2 other women ahead of me. These races are pretty funny cause its the people who are decked out the most, that are the worst runners. It's so funny. There was one lady there that I figured she was off to the Olympics and she barely finished. But it was a good run. I felt like I had a good pace and I even had enough energy at the end for a sprint to the finish. Yesterday was a rest day from cardio but last night I did chest and tris.

The house is sold so that's done:D Glad to have that girl renting out of my hair! Other then that there isn't anything new. Kids are good but busy. We are taking out a loan for DD for a car, she doesn't know yet though. It's 6 hours away so we have to figure out how to get it:confused:.

I will try to come back tonight. When the kids go to bed I'm going to do another body part but I'm going to bed early tonight!!!

Hi Ladies,

Today is a vacation day for me to spend with the girls! We are going to The Bay which is a local water park for little kids. I took them twice last year and they really liked it and want to go again.

I must've been beat from the brick workout because I was out like a light last night and slept pretty hard.

Lori-glad you could make some time for us! Way to go on your run!!! I'm still working on my swimming and my first tri is this next weekend. I'll be glad to have it behind me. Then the real training will begin for the longer tri in August. DD will be so excited I'm sure.

Wendy-I know how important weights are and am really missing them. I'm doing a FB w/o this morning before heading to the waterpark with the girls.

Laura-hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Hi Girls

Tonight I did bics and shoulders. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow. I feel bloated though...I think TTOM is coming. I was unpacking the dish washer and I had to leave cause the sound of DD eating chips was driving me crazy! Another sign....

I'm hoping to get up tomorrow morning and do crossfire before work, I'm in the mood to do that workout. DH is working nights so I can't go for a run in the morning.

Diana** how long do you have the girls for? You must be enjoying them. It's so nice that she lets you have them for long periods of time. Only b/c of mommy anxiety but truth be known, she probably enjoys the break! When do you start your tri training??

I will try and pop in in the morning!!

Hi Ladies,

I'm trying to get in my 2 cups of coffee and head out for a run. Hoping for 5 miles this morning. It's in the low 60's right now so that's perfect for me.

Spent a few hours at the waterpark with the girls yesterday. They want to go back so we'll probably hit the water park next Monday. Oh yeah, and I did Muscle Max, and it felt really good to be lifting.

This is my last week of tri-training class and then my training partner and I will be on our own to train for the August tri. I'm actually skipping June bootcamp so I can take an Aquatic Conditioning class. It was a tough decision, but if I want to continue with triathlons I need to be more comfortable and confident in the water. I told my trainer to expect me back for July/Aug/Sep.

Lori-tri training has been in full swing since mid-April. The first tri is this weekend. The girls talk to their mom every day or every other day. DS has visitation anyway, I do think it's hard on their Mom but also a nice break too. You did awesome in your HM!! Did you even train for it or just go for it??? Either way, you were great! My training partner talked me into a HM in October. :eek:

Wendy-your w/o's are very similar in nature to our indoor bootcamps if you will. A lot of compound exercises with cardio bursts thrown in. They moved our summer bootcamp from the football field to behind the rec ctr. They've added some big tires for flipping and groomed the hill so we can run on it. Our trainer has gotten a lot of flack for moving the class from the football field that we all love. I'm sure it will still be a good class, it's just that we've used the football field for so long and we love it.

Laura-hope you were able to enjoy your weekend!

Last night's group training session wasn't a group after all coz only one person showed up for it! LOL It still counts though!

Tonight I am doing 2 PT appointments at the same time. :eek: That's 2 ppl with 2 different routines being done simultaneously! Lord help me! LOL

Di:: The Aquatics class sounds like a good call! Let us know how it goes! Glad you had fun at the water park. We'll be visiting Hurrican Harbor this summer with our Season's Passes. IDK how much I will go on there b/c I am a big chicken but I can get a tan on the lazy river while the others "play". I'm down with that! ;) So why did your BC instructor move the class if everyone really liked the football field? Tire flipping? Sounds like she's going CrossFit on you!

Lori:: Well look who decided to grace us with her presence!:p;):D Congrats on the race and the house! Will you be looking to upgrade in Cold Lake now that you've sold your house "back home" or planning to stay put?

Hand to Hand Med Ball Roll in Push Up Postion (10 reps)
Sliding KB Rear Lunge Left
Sliding KB Rear Lunge Right
SB Kneeling Hand Roll Outs

and then I topped it off with this little killer tabata round:
8@10/20 of skaters and line taps

Hi Ladies,

Today is weigh in and I should be down another # or so based on my weight on my home scale.:D

Yesterday morning I did a 5 mile run and ended up doing Cathe's Ride at the rec ctr last night. It was raining and our trainer said the pool where we going to do our transitions was packed. The last tri training is tomorrow night and we'll be doing transitions again. The weather should be much nicer.

Not sure what I will be doing this morning, perhaps some weights....TBD. I was supposed to swim with my training partner, but it's only 53 degrees out....too cold for outdoor swimming for this chick!

Wendy-Wow, impressive! Not sure how I would handle 2 simultaneous training with different routines for each person. Our Boot Camp class was moved because of harrassment issues. Although it is a City Park and it is reserved by the Rec Ctr for our class, our trainer was always having to kick people off the field and sometimes even call the Police to come and hang out to keep the people off the field during our class.

sorry been slacking on my check in .. we have been slammed at work ..and ystdy I had dr appts ... OBGYN yearly apt -it went good - but had the "old age" talk .. think I may end up having my tubes tied :confused: but I wont do taht till after summer is over with ... didnt get a workout in ystdy b/c i got a freaking migraine from driving in madhouse traffic after my dr apt .. ugh .. but somehow someway I AM working out today .. guh!!

Wendy - woohoo WTG - very impressive - but i had no doubts at all you could handle it!! you are going to be a TOP PT!!! :D:D:D you making us proud!! :D:D:D

Di - great run - 53 degrees .. wow .. excellent weather!! it is HOT and HUMID and MUGGY here in the mid 90's .. like a sweat box when you walk outside!! nasty!!

we had HORRIBLE storms last night - I was up most of the night .. worried a tornado was gona hit .. lightning did hit soemthing NEAR my window of my bedroom .. scared me to death .. me and Brutus jumped ski high .. :confused: .. BAD storms!!

and there is a STUPID tropical LOW in the GULF that is MESSING up my vaca plans for fishing .. I had to cancel some vaca b/c it is NOT doable w/that thing in the gulf like it is .. gggrrrrrrrrrr:mad: maybe it will hurry and leave!!!

Thank you so much for the training kudos! You girls are da' best!:) It feels so great to finally be conquering the fears that have been stopping me from becoming a PT! I am on cloud nine every time I take on a new challenge (that scares the crap outta me!) at the studio and end up conquering it!:D

One of the gals I trained last night was telling me how many inches she's lost since joining the studio in March. AMAZING results she is getting! This guy really knows his stuff! I am proud to be a part of it and feel honored that he thinks I'm good enough to be a trainer there! :)

Laura:: "old age" talk? What?? You are NOT old!!!!:mad: YIKES! Those storms sound crazy scarey! Please stay safe! IDK if I asked you this before-I might have but-do you have a storm cellar...or atleast a basement that will suffice as one?? Did you hear about that 2nd tornado that blew through poor Oklahoma? They said it was 2 or 2.5 miles wide and moved at 350 miles per hour! :eek::eek::eek: I meant to tell you that I saw the pic of Brutus on FB and OMG he is sooo big now!!! WOW! How much does he weigh??

Diana:: I don't blame your trainer for moving then. It's not fair but I am sure she is tired of fighting a losing battle for that field. *sigh* :rolleyes::( Congrats on the scale going down! WOOT! :D Swimming outside in 50 degree weather??? Um, I think not! Unless I am wearing a full body wet suit!!!!!!:eek: LOL

Hi Ladies,

I leaned down to pick up the laundry basket and hurt my back yesterday. I'm so pissed.:mad: I wasn't even lifting, simply leaned over to grab the laundry basket. Icing it now but may give cardio a try this morning to get the blood moving.

Yesterday I did CLB! I was a sweaty mess. It was after my workout was finished that I decided to bring the basket of folded clean clothes upstairs and tweaked my lower back.

Wendy-I'm so proud of you. You've always mentioned how shy you were around others, but you are following your dream of being a PT and are totally Rocking It!!!

Laura-you are not old, but just guessing they may suggest you get off the pill if that's your case. Our temps have been all over, from 60's-80's. We swim around 6am and it's still pretty cool out...too cold for this chick to swim outside anyway. Booh on have to cancel vaca plans. I've been thankful for the cloudy overcast mornings that make for good running temps.

Lori-so has your housemate moved out yet? You are such a generous person. I wouldn't want someone living with my family. I have my own routine and don't want to have to keep them company. Sounds pretty rude as I type it, but if their not family I probably wouldn't be interested in letting them stay with us.

Morning Ladies ..

getting my check in .. it is already crazy here .. is it a full moon and I dont know about it???? yikes!!! I did get my workout in ystdy - went to the CC and ran on the TM got in 4.5 miles/interval run ...DOMS: quads and hammies! I plan on going at lunch today and do combat core attack - and maybe real quick after work power hiit - i have a TON of things to do at the house when I get home!!!

Well first week of hurrican season - first named storm - Tropical Storm Andrea :mad: and she is screwing up my vaca/fishing plans! :mad:

Wendy - no we dont have a storm shelter - we have bad storms here - but not like OK .. that poor state and those poor people . OMG .. I feel so bad for them .. if I had to live there I think my whole house would be underground!!! Brutus .. :eek: .. he is growing SO FAST .. he is about 55# now :eek::eek::eek::eek: I KNOW!~!!! insane!!! 4 1/2 months old I am kinda worried about how big he is and gonna be :confused: he dont realize his size or strength .. his manners are better .. but he is too ruff w/toots .. it takes a LOT of work w/these dogues!!

Di - OOOOHHHHH NOOOOO not that back again .. wow .. what is causing that???? old injury?? overuse??? slipped disc??? poor thing .. sending healing vibes QUICKLY!!!!!

Woo Hoo for Friday!!!! I have been in testing hell the past few days. So glad the testing is over now just praying the deploy goes as planned. Enough Shop Talk.

I didnt' workout this morning because I had to be at work early to finish up my testing. I'll probably do something containing both cardio & weights tomorrow....and the Tri is on Sunday. My back is still bothering me, can't believe I hurt it again. Damn old age must be kickin in.

Laura-sorry the tropical storm is causing you to change your vacation plans.:mad: Nice job on the interval run. It's supposed to be in the 90's on Tri Day, thankfully my heat starts at 8:10 and I should be done by 9:30 ish before it gets hot.

Wendy-saw on FB that you are going to the horse races. Can't wait to see your KD hat! Sounds like you work for a fun company!!!

Lori-What have you been up to besides FB!:eek: Just kidding. Are the kids done with school for the summer? Jerod is out of school but has football camp for 2 weeks and then his summer weight lifting program starts.

Single arm heavy DB chest press on SB with feet close together to increase balance challenge (10)

2 sets of:
Heavy KB sliding rear lunge (10)
Perfect push ups (10)
Heavy KB sliding rear lunge other leg(10)
Tricep dips (10)

2 sets of:
Heavy KB goblet squats (10)
KB crush curl, shoulder press, overhead tricep press (10)

4 sets of:
Heavy KB squat with pause at bottom (10 reps)

Y'day was a rest day because we spent it in NYC to see Spiderman on Broadway! :D

And Friday I did this:

Firewalkers and SB glute squeezes
and
Light DB rear sliding lunges alternating sides
... then

Skaters and line taps coz it was so fabulously hard the last time!
