Damage Control June :)

Hey Ladies,

Back to report that HST is done! I need fit in more running prior to the tri in 2 weeks. The run segment is short, maybe 2 miles or so. I now I can run the distance, but I've only been running 1 hour per week in my class.

Wendy-you didn't see our new monthly thread...or maybe you posted first and I didn't see it.:confused: Nice that you like your new yoga DVD! I bought 2 michelle dozios dvd's and I only like one of them, the other is boring IMO...tough but boring.

Lori-Yay, Stephen slept through the night. As you well now, it could be one time thing, or the beginning of something great.:p

Laura-My goodness, hope the eye is responding to the meds. Have fun fishing!!

Hi Girls:)

Busy couple of days. I don't know if I checked in yesterday or not. I was kept going and did my workout in the afternoon, then we went out for dinner. Today I did all of my house work when I woke up and have been waiting to workout ever since. The baby slept through the night but didn't care to take a nap up till now:mad: And not because he wasn't sleepy...

Anyway, yesterday's workout was AB and a 35 mins run. Today I will just be running. I have had some nice DOMS going on all week...that's right ladies...you heard it!:D:p.

Tonight is DH's party. Should be a good time. To bad I can't go in fine form....I can't be sick tomorrow with kids in the house and I dont like pumping milk and throwing it away so two drinks is my max. I'm hoping the baby will sleep through the night again so I don't have to worry about anything.

I will catch up on personals tomorrow!

Hi Ladies,

Planning on either just a cardio or perhaps another circuit. If I do cardio only then I can do full body weights tomorrow. I'll decide when I get downstairs.

I got DH to take me out to dinner last night. It was nice to enjoy each others company without any of the kids. DH hates going out on weekend nights, but he did anyway.

This weekend is another busy one. We have a graduation party today, the girls room needs to be finished up painting the trim/steam cleaning the carpets, and picking up my bedroom furniture. I also found out I can pick up the car some time this week.

Lori-you are busy bee. Sounds the party was great. I know it's going to tough with DH in training, but both your families will be around to help out.

Hello!

This morning DS earned his yellow belt in Karate. So proud of him! :) After that we went to the post office to apply for him to get a passport since he'll need one for the cruise in August and then I came home and banged out STS D2 (back/triceps) and a 16 minute Tabata Cardio. Felt great!:D

Tmrw's plan is the gym for a run!

Good Morning Girls:)

I feel much better then I did yesterday morning. I think we went to bed around 11 and I don't even know what time the baby woke up. I could have slept longer but the baby woke at 7:30 so here we are.

I didn't workout yesterday either. We brought DH's cake home from the party b/c it was to nice to cut and DH wanted to show DS. On the way out of the bar one of the young guys that use to work for DH stuck his finger in the corner of the cake so when I got home I had to even it up:p and then again and again and again....I don't know how much of that d*** thing I ate! But I really should have worked out! I was starving all day yesterday. I guess it was b/c I was so tired.

The weather is crap here again today. I was hoping to go for a nice long run outside to work some cake off but I have no desire to go out in this. So I will most likely find something to do downstairs and b/c we are up so early, it will probably be very soon.

Diana** Did you get the girl's room done?? I love weekends b/c it's our time together but that is coming to an end and Im dreading weekends the most tbh. It just seems like everyone is doing "family" stuff on the weekends so all of my friends will be doing their own thing. I can always go home but that's to much work. Sooooo....I am thinking about taking it upon myself to paint some rooms in this house:p That will help me pass some time away. I would like to switch the furniture that is in the living room with the furniture that is in the rec room but the couch is so big that it might not fit down the stairs and then make the turn into the rec room.

Wendy** Good job Joey!! I am thinking about getting the kids passports done just in case we will the lottery!;) DD's is still good but DS's ran out this year and of course the baby has never had one. I think we are all due in the next year or so. I hate filling out that crap!

Well.....for some reason I looked at my wedding ring yesterday and there was a diamond missing from my engagement ring:( I don't know when this happened. DH and I went to the mall yesterday and while we were there we looked at some rings. Of course I can send this one away to be fixed but we had always talked about getting another ring. Its very tempting and I found one I liked...and it was on sale.....but I didn't jump the gun. With DH going away and us having to go 8 weeks without a pay check, its kind of tough to jump in...but I have been thinking about it alot and I think he wants me to get it cause he doesn't want to leave with his wife having rings not on her finger:p I ended up having to take the ring of last night cause something is cracked and it kept sticking into my baby finger.

Anyway...I will bbl!

Busy day ahead...Church...Gym...Horse Races...so we will be heading out in about 20 minutes and won't be back again until probably 5ish. Plan is for a run and abs at the gym..Maybe some lower body if I have time.

Hi Ladies,

Busy weekends.....I need a break. Yesterday we went to a graduation party, we had fun. Today I managed a 15 mile bike ride this morning before heading out to run errands. I still have a lot to do though, especially working on the girls' room. The faceplates need put back on, paint drops cleaned up, paint the trim, carpet cleaned etc. Enough to keep me busy for the next couple of weeks....and I thought painting was the hard part.

Wendy-you are busy too!

Lori-sounds like DH's party was a success. At least you've had a little time to plan for 8 weeks without a paycheck. I'm sure that's going to be tough. Was DH able to sell his building?

Good Morning.

Y'day's work out ended up being 30 minutes of cardio. I started off with a 10 minute flat mile on the tm, moved on to the stairclimber where I did 10 min on level 1 and thought I'd die :eek: and then gladly :)p) went back to the tm for 10 mins of varying hills/speeds...

Today's plan is some Bob and some yoga. I got my third yoga dvd I ordered plus I still have the 2nd one I got to try. Decisions decisions. I hope I like them as much as the first one! :D

We had fun y'day but it was exhausting. I had no trouble sleeping last night and slept a bit later then I usually do this morning!

Di:: So where did you purchase the Michelle D. dvds? Can you return the one you don't like? Most places don't let you return an open dvd which is why I don't mind spending the $ to order from Collage sometimes b/c they let you return anything! If it's cheap enough elsewhere it's ok but if I am gonna pay anyway then the Collage route is worth it IMO. My yoga dvds were all pretty cheap though. Glad you got your DH to go out for dinner this weekend. Why doesn't he usually like to go on weekends-the crowds/lines/wait times? I know how he feels. If we go out on a fri or sat night we go early. We went out Saturday night and left the house at 5 to beat the crowd and it worked. :) My plan is to paint Joey's room this week. Wish me luck! LOL :rolleyes: Glad you had fun at the grad party. Yep-we both had busy weekends. TG for Monday-back to the usual grind so we can rest! ;)

Lori:: Oooooh you ate caaaakkkkeee! Oooohhhhh! I'm tellinnnnn!:p LOL Yeup, getting a passport IS a p.i.t.a. for sure and highway robbery too! We had to pay $120 for DS' and it's only good for 5 years! WTH!?! :eek: I hope renewal is cheap!!!! :mad:

Ok, that's all for now..gotta feed DS breakfast and get him off to school soon!

Crunch time now....one week before DH leaves:( Yesterday we did a bunch of things that needed to be done. I think he has everything now. We have a busy week ahead of us and that usually means time is going to fly!

Yesterday's workout was bit of a mish mosh. I did PH and HR shoul,bics,tris and abs, 5 mile run and B&G's standing. I don't know what I will do today but it should probably be PH and HR chest and back....and some cardio.

Diana** When are the girls coming to visit again? And how long will they stay? You must enjoy them considering you had three stinky boys:p. Girls are cute until they hit 11 or so....Nice bike ride! When is the tri?

Wendy** I'm sure we have different passport rules but DS's was only good for 3 yrs. I'm not sure what age they change it to 5 yrs. I don't think our fee is as expensive unless you want it done in 24 hours. And the renewal fee is no different then the first one:confused:. Nice workout yesterday. I should break out those yoga dvds I suppose!

Hello again.

My work out is done. 30 minutes of BH:: Ultimate Cardio Body + 40+ minutes of new yoga work outs. I tried one and didn't care for it at all so I switched it out after 5-10 minutes. I did 40 minutes of the next one which I don't LOVE but I LIKE it so I will do it again. Like the song says-Two outta three ain't bad! ;):)

Lori:: Three years?? That's it? Maybe coz your son is younger or maybe just b/c it's different rules in Canada. Whatever the case you are lucky it's less expensive for it by you atleast. Nice mish mosh work out!

Okay, off to the foodstore with me but I'll be back!:cool:
 
Mon - and back to reality!

Hello girls!

Had a GREAT fishing weekend - well FRI we got our arses kicked at sea - 6 - 8 ft seas :eek: :confused::confused::confused::confused: but we did catch some fish - 3 - 4 ft seas SAT - and we loaded the boat :cool::D:D:D:D - SUN was perfect an smooth :cool: and HOT - but the fishing was SLOOOOOOW . .go figure - got home late ... so i am DRAGGING today!!

I FEEEEL HUUUUUGE - have done nothing but EAT and DRINK all long weekend .. and WOW I can tell it - fishing is hard and I did get some big fish - worked out reeling them up - even had to have some help a couple of times - my abs are sore from trying to balance and survive the waves - my back even got spasms ystdy from fishing so long - great time - but time to get back TO IT today! :D

Lori - sounds like the party was a great success - funny about the cake!! I LOVE cake - w/the FATTENING icing - that is why I DONT bring cake home ..LOL .. ya I think re-painting or re-decorating will be a good idea for you - will take up some time!!

Wendy - nice workouts!! did you see the new pics of CATHE - looks like she is doing the crab abs from BR - I think these new workouts are going to KILL me - gonna be a mix of BR-ish drills w/a CATHE spin on it and clasic CATHE torture - I GOTTA get back to LIS .. b/c I ahve been slack on them .. and I know these new ones are gonna kick arse!!

Di - wow - ya you gotta big job ahead of you!!! LOL good luck!!! I NEED to do some re-painting myself - but dread starting .. b/c once you paint one thing it makes another look dingy so then you gotta paint that .. and so on and so on!!! LOL

OK .. better run .. I WILL be doing SOMETHING as far as working out .. even tho I am DRAGGIN bad and will prbly pass out after 10 min .. LOL!!!
 
So hey ladies, anyone else who post their work outs on FB notice a trend from any of their Cathlete "friends" where some seem to only "LIKE" the Cathe work outs you do but nothing else?? I have one gal who is DEFINITELY guilty of that and I really feel like telling her not to bother because it just makes me so mad! :mad: Cathe is awesome yes but she's not the ONLY answer! YKWIM!? UGH! Hate the friggin' cult-like groupies around here...makes me sick! :rolleyes: ...OK, rant over! Thanks for listening!:p

Laura:: TBH I haven't been paying much attn to the previews of the new work outs. I want to be surprised! ;) I'm sure they will be azz whoopers though! :eek: Sounds you had fun fishing this weekend! I probably would have been heaving on Friday though! :eek:

WENDY .. ITA about about some of the CULT-like people on here - also the loudmouth political "if you dont agree w/me you are a dumb@$$" LIMITED itellegence ones too .. UGH .. that is why I stopped posting on the main forum .. the amount of ignorance is beyond unbelievable and soooooo irritating .. ITA .. Cathe is great and is MY GO TO whoop@$$ DVD ... BUT I do luv Bob and SeanT .. and Zuzana and BR .. and surely have an open mind to try anything that looks interesting .. dont think Cathe thinks we CHEAT on her .. LOL!!! and I personally think Cathe prbly is inspired by different instructors and ideas of fitness .. but she is always cutting edge .. thing that makes her uinque is she can take the latest "trend" and put HER spin on it and make it HARDER but SAFER at the same time - and that is why i luv her!!!

and I think you need to try new things - and try to surprise your body .. Cathe has a style - Bob has a different style - and SeanT yet a different approach - that mix is what our bodies need! ;) that's my take on it anyway!!! :p
 
OMG the repeated comments of those who feel like they would be or are "cheating on Cathe" or feel guilty for doing another instructor's work out make me wanna hurl! It's soooooooo stoooooopid!!!!! :eek::confused::eek::rolleyes:

I am the only one awake:) I love quiet coffee time in the morning.

We have an appt regarding DS this morning and then DD's dance show tonight. I am hoping to get my workout in this afternoon. Yesterday I did PH and HR chest and back, 20 mins on the TM and a 20 mins Mindy spin workout. I also did B&G's abs. So today will be just cardio and abs I think.

Laura** Sounds like you had a awesome weekend!! Did you get a good workout in yesterday?? Feel skinnier today? LOL

Diana** I had a dream last night that you were mad at me and wouldn't talk to me! LOL And then you were emailing Wendy to ask her opinion on why you were mad at me! I felt like there was a conspiracy! LOL

Wendy** Are you talking about the Cathe page on FB? I never go there. Most of the time when I am on FB now, its when I am on my phone and nursing so I just usually see what everyone is doing today. I can see why you would be irritated though. I use to be only Cathe as well. Not b/c I felt like she was the only awesome instructor but when it came to cardio workouts I knew that I wouldn't be lost when a dvd was new. Whenever I tried a new step workout by someone different (cause I was the cardio queen for years) I would be totally lost. I always knew when I tried a new cathe workout, I would see familiar moves. Now in saying that the last few step dvds have thrown me for a loop and I haven't bothered trying them since:eek:

I made a last minute hair appointment for this morning at 8:30am to get my hair colored and cut since we are going to a wedding next Friday and I am overdue!!!

That being said I won't be working out anytime soon. The plan was to do STS D3 and also go to the gym for upper body to make a f/b work out for today but IDK if I'll have time for all of that afterall so I could be revamping my plan...I'll be back to let you know what I ended up doing though!:D

Lori, I only go on Cathe's FB page if I am looking for a something specific. What I am talking about is if you post the work outs you do on your own FB page and your fitness friends (namely people from this forum) "like" the posts...Some seem only to "like" Cathe work outs as if exercise only counts if it's a Cathe dvd...:rolleyes: Hey, to each their own-if all you do is Cathe and you are happy then good for you. I don't understand how people can do that for extended periods of time b/c I need variety but that's not what gets me. It's the "all or nothing" attitude about her. She is the best of the best and doing anyone else's work out is worthless and if you DO try another instructor then you are "cheating" on Cathe or you "feel bad" for not doing a Cathe work out instead. Oh and the "Cathe spoiled me" comments get to me too. :confused: Don't get me wrong I love her and her work outs and she is top-notch! I am not saying anything negative about her or her dvds AT ALL. It's the attitude some of her fans have that bothers me...it's down right creepy and cultish! :eek:

Laura:: OMG I also hate the folks who get in an uproar when pre-sale time rolls around because the dvds aren't being released when THEY think they should be! UGH! Read the terms of the pre-sale and then STFU! If you don't like the way it works then don't order! That simple! Then they try to tell SNM how to run their business. OMG, really!? :eek::rolleyes: Come on people! I think they are doing just fine on their own! LOL Makes me sick! :confused:

Morning Ladies ..

well FULL MOON madness persist!! :confused: man .. the super moon like to have killed me .. now we got another FULL MOON MADNESS to survive!! :confused::confused: I did manage a run afterall ystdy - it was 96 HUMID HOT degrees - and being that i {uh-hum} "overindulged" like I did I felt i HAD to workout but I cut it short - 4 miles is all - but OMG .. it was SOOOOOOO hot .. that sun was beaming down and sizzling!!! but I feel better today!! :D although I didnt sleep much - Buster kept me up and down last night .. he is still hanging in .. has good days and bad days ...

Lori - yes I feel a bit thinner today - I have LOT of "overindulgence" to work off tho .. ugh

Wendy - last comment on "cult like people" here: that DRIVES ME INSANE when they try to tell CATHE how to run her business - REALLY PEOPLE??? and then nit pick about every little thing .. and to me Cathe goes out of her way to explain in DETAIL every aspect of the creation - and distribution of the DVD .. but yet they still NIT PICK - I dont have thick enough skin .. if I were Cathe I would tell some of those people to kiss it where the sun dont shine .. buy it or not .. it is what it is!! YES >..ITA with you on this subject!!! NICE workouts - hey sidenote: saw a segment on GMA that HULA HOOPING is becoming national craze for fitness workout :eek: I couldnt help but think about you!!!!

OK .. better run .. long day ahead of me .. we are to get storms today .. and I have hair apnt this afternoon .. I forgot about .. I NEED IT BADLY .. I am leaning toward cutting some length off :eek: ??????? decisions decisions .. I just know it is looking FRAZZLED .. the salt water and sun takes a toll on my hair!!!

Today ended up being STS TB No Bonus Burn No Abs Premix. Great work out! Not what I originally intended but that's ok! I can do the other work out another day when I have more time!

Laura:: Nice 4 mile run in the heat! Oh poor Buster. Gotta feel bad for animals when they don't feel well. Poor things. :( I hear you re the "cult" convo! I had no idea hooping was the next big thing when I decided to give it a try! That's pretty cool! :D

Okay sorry but I had to come back to add one final point to my rants from above! I was going to "close the book" on this convo, I swear, but I just read a thread that reminded me of another thing that irks me BIG time!!!! So here it goes...Have you ever noticed that every thread started to ask for opinnions on another fitness program is pretty much always compared to STS (and ofcourse STS is better) by the person who is responding when the majority of the time the OP isn't even asking how it compares!? They simply want to know who has used a program and how they liked it. Not how it compares to STS but ofcourse almost everyone feels compelled to say STS is better anyway even when the 2 programs are like apples and oranges!:rolleyes: OY! This drives me nuts too!!! :eek:

Ok, I swear I am done now! LOL Back to our regularly scheduled check-in!:p
