Damage Control...Happy Hump Day!

Hey there Ladies.

Today is supposed to be my rest. We'll see how that goes! :p I am planning to hit Centergy class at 1030 and if I don't make it for some reason then I'm all over the evening class tonight. I also want to walk (easier, not intense like what I did y'day). If the weather looks like it's going to be crappy I'll plan to do it at the gym.

Tomorrow completes my first week of SS! Not sure how long I want to do it for. I think I will play it by ear. The book says 6 weeks but I'll have to see...
After that I will get back to strength for a bit. I've been doing endurance for a while now.

Jacque:: My DH knows the bare minimum about golf (he's only played a few times) but is anxious to learn. He is strongly considering taking a lesson or two before he develops bad habits. That being said, he quickly showed me how to hold a club and swing to best of his ability but he's hardly experienced. I was also using a club that didn't suit me. I'm short. I need a shorter set. :p So how were your eats y'day? I love going out to eat so can be easily convinced but it IS bad news most of the time. I feel for ya!

Jen:: I love your outlook on golf and sports in general. This is why I don't consider things like golf and bowling REAL sports! :p I think MOST golfers use the carts. Lots that play are business men who do it for the business networking/social aspect of it and they certainly are NOT going to walk the course! LOL So did you purposely ignore my invitation to do SS with me? :DGlad work is busy for you...sounds like an odd thing to say but if that's what you like...:)

Diana:: Be wary of 2nd day DOMS! Your glutes could still turn it on for you after that BC class!!! I've only ever played mini golf and attempted one time in HS to play pitch and putt. Other then that-NOTHING. DH has played a few times over the years but he is NOT what you call experienced with the game. LOL

Laura:: Sounds like you had a nasty virus there girl. Glad you are better though. Sorry about PIA in training and the drama she is causing. It never ends for you! :( Y'day's walk was supposed to be soley for the purpose of moving and meeting my step goal. I ended up workin' pretty hard thanks to Grace but that's okay. I survived! :D

Lori:: How are you?

Hey ladies ..

a quick check in .. b-4 heading to an ALL DAY meeting .. ugh ... catered lunch which I am sure will be fat ladden and add my ailing tummy ... gonna have to be picky on what I do eat .. after the ALL DAY meeting .. going to get my hair done .. cut and highlites .. and lowlites ... so today is a forced rest day .. maybe I can get some walking in on the lunch break today ...

OK .. no time for personals .. hope to check in tonight when I get home .. hope I can stay awake  today .... have a great day .. and ya'll workout for me .. PLEASE:D

Hola chicas!!

Wendy: Oh, hey, hmmmm....how did I miss that invite? Geez, that's too bad, must be too late now seeing you've already started SS, huh? What a bummer *snap* ;) Just kidding! Somehow I did miss that invitation, I wasn't deliberately ignoring it; however, while it sounded like a good idea when you first mentioned it, my body was saying it needed some heavier weights. So I've opted to stick with the pyramids for a few weeks, which to me is kind of a good compromise between heavy and endurance and it fits in well with running IMO. Then I'm still thinking about CLX again in August. You hauled some butt on that walk yesterday, girl! I'm impressed! It takes me close to an hour to walk three miles at lunch also, so I know you were moving. Great job! Yeah, golf, bowling, not real sports, I agree. Recreations, yes, sports, no ;) Unless I was talking to Tiger himself, and then my tune might be different!

Laura: Ugh...all day meeting. I empathize. But at least you're ending the day with having your hair done! That should be a "picker-upper"! Hope you enjoy.

So I did PUB this morning, and I did about 20-25 minutes of step before hand a la BM2. Hoping for a walk at lunch, but guess what girls! It's freakin' raining again! Yesterday was a complete washout, today it's supposed to be spotty, and even better, it's supposed to be like this for the next five days  Oy, kill me now...

K, off to do some work but will bbl~

Hello Again.

Got in a 2+ mile walk outside this morning before it started to get really hot. Actually, the temps are not supposed to be bad but I think the humidity will be up there. No rain though!!!! :D

Laura:: All day meeting?? ICK! I remember having to go to a 2 hour meeting. One hour was for the meeting and the rest for a catered lunch. It was lame. I'd rather work and then eat my own dang lunch thank you very much! :p LOL
I need to make an appt for my hair. I need a perm, I need a cut and I want to get it colored and do the hilite/lowlite thing like you are doing. Perhaps I shouldn't try to do it all at once though.

Jen:: LOL, nice excuse to get out of doing SS with me. :p I still want to tackle CLX again myself but I haven't done the Gym Styles in a while so as of right now I'm thinking about doing them next. Who knows though...with my exercise ADD, ANYTHING is possible!!! :D So any ideas where the best place to have lunch would be when we get to the casinos next month? My only request is that they are able to make good martinis. ;) :D

Guess that's all for now. I have a to do list a mile long today. Better get to it!

BBL!

Off work so wrote a book, LOL !

Yeppers – Happy Hump day and I’m off so I can get a bit of cleaning in in case DH invites anyone over after the Festival. Didn't get to catch up after the AM so here goes:

Y’day after work I had intended on doing a FB and ended up doing Jackies 1 on 1-the entire DVD = UB, LB & Core. Reminds me of Jillian in that she adds the cardio factor too. Dripping profusely by the end of the LB workout and continued into the core too! It was quite hot outside so that could have been part of the sweat factor, but I felt it was a good workout – lifted heavier than the others and could really feel it. Good endurance workout. I’ll be heading out for a 10K in just a bit . . . can’t run the usual course as it will be blocked off so guess I’ll have to add the extra 2 miles !

Wendy – good job with the workout ! ITA when I use the TM my walks are 4 mph or a 15 min mile as you did. Forces you to walk faster. LOL about the golf issues – I do think a few lessons to learn how to swing would be very beneficial. Then lots of time at the range practicing. Once you have a perfect swing a few times it feels great and the ball just flies - then it is easy to figure what you did wrong when it goes in the wrong direction ! I have to chime in here and say I consider golf a sport. It takes lots of concentration and skill to play a decent round. It just isn’t a "sport" that makes you sweat a lot ! I beg to differ with some of the Olympic "sports" such as "flagging"? Have a hard time with that one myself, but then I have never done it. As for golf, I have been quite sore more than once after playing 18 holes as, at least back then, I was using muscles I didn’t normally use. Not sure if that would be the case now that I have met Cathe and the other instructors. Eats turned out good since my coworker tossed the lunch that I didn’t eat y’day so I missed that meal. :( Once I got home I did “fuel up” on pita chips (only a handful) with some laughing cow (2 wedges). Indulged in a couple MGD’s but dinner was chicken and a caprese salad with my fresh basil – YUM ! I went very ez on the mozzarella.

Jen – bummer you are too busy to chat here but good you aren’t bored. Good workouts for you too lately. You getting the eats reeled in a bit? You always seem to recover pretty quickly – aaahhhhh, I remember those days ! Love the commuter phone calls with DSO – that’s adorable. Great way to pass the time for both of you. Can’t believe it is raining again for you. Not standard for the summer back there is it?

Diana – you seem to be having quite a few bad sleeping nights lately. Is that unusual for you? I so dread the day after a bad night as it is sooooo difficult to function, let alone workout. Hope last night was better for you. Sounds like a great circuit you mixed up yesterday. The Jackie workout was loads of lunges for the LB portion and it is just what I am looking for lately. Helps my legs thin out. I don’t feel like they are losing their tone either. Like you, I love lifting heavy, but not thinking I need it as much as I enjoy it. Like Jen I had quite a picture in my head with lots of peeps running around the field with bands on. What a crazy good instructor teaching that class. Always something new but worthwhile, huh? Kudos for the good eating – can’t wait to hear how it has paid off for you. Also good to hear you have new projects at work – sounds like they decided to get rid of outside vendors and bring the work in house instead.

Laura – Oh man I feel for you lately. Not having too much fun at all. Well hopefully you can relax at your hair appointment and enjoy DH tonight.;) I’m probably getting mine cut and highlighted today too if I can get fit in. Is looking good though. Cooly cool about going away for your anniv., 23 years is a long time ! We just celebrated my IL’s 50th on Sun. DH and I will be at 9 next month. Prior to that it was 15 years. Boy does time fly huh? Good to hear you are feeling a bit better – hope you can find something that will suffice for lunch. I’m getting tired of eating out lately and now tomorrow have to do lunch again ! UGH ! At least our ins broker typically likes healthier food so we always go somewhere that has good salads or I can get fish w/steamed veggies. Hope things at work settle down some – is the boss working on it or just pretending it doesn’t exist?

Lori – you getting nervous girl? Probably not cuz you’re such a good runner anyway. Hope the next few days are good to you so you’ll be in tip top shape for your race.

Off to get started and then hit the trails. BBL

Oh Wendy, Wendy, Wendy...we are not going to have any problems finding great martinis! :p The steak houses are good for that, either David Burke's or Cedar's, then there's the Hard Rock, there's Junior's if you want a casual, diner (kinda upscale) style lunch, California Pizza Kitchen...you name it, they got it! It's all about what our little hearts desire. And trust me, they all offer fabulous martinis ;)

Oops! Hey Jacque! We were posting at the same time. Obviously I'm not so busy that I can't chat today, huh? Are you off today? Sounds like you gave yourself a good punishment yesterday with Jackie's One on One. Gotta say, not so great on the eats yesterday. How 'bout you? I ended up going out for dinner last night with DSO and I ordered steak tips. To be honest, they didn't seem too too bad...meaning they were pretty lean and didn't appear to be steeped in fat, but then, you never really know what you're getting unless you've cooked it yourself. I also had some roasted potatoes, too. I only ate half of what they gave me, though, and brought the rest home for the dog. I did have a glass and a half of pinot grigio that I probably could have done without...but oh well, too late for me to worry about that now! Today is looking better so far though, and I will be cooking something lean tonight, probably pork tenderloin. Hope you enjoy your run!!

Back from my run (but walked about 5 min as my iPod wasn't cooperating - or shall I say I haven't figured out how to set the volume. It keeps asking for a combination to set it? WTH?) Anyhoo, went the entire was but was dogging a little. My HR was down between 5 - 10 hbpm so the heat must have been the issue the other day. Kept it between 150 & 160. Then as I get home and go to take the key out of my little pocket in my shorts    It wasn't there ! ! ! So hop the fence, grab the extra key DH hid and go figure, he didn't key the deadbolt the same ! ! !   Get a screwdriver, start checking all the windows. Almost gave up but checked the last window in the back of the house and woo hoo, it wasn't locked completely. Good and bad I guess but I have no phone or anything. Would have been quite a hastle. Don't even know if DH is in town - he could be hours away.

Whew that was lucky.

Wow Wendy & Jen you guys are getting really close to your little weekend getaway ! It will be so fun for you !

Jen - I don't think your eats last night were that bad - agree about not knowing how they cook it, but my dinner the other night was way worse ! We'll be doing pork tenderloin tonight too! Need to get it marinating soon. I'm now getting hungry as I sit here thinking of food. Haven't eaten yet, my tummy was protesting a bit during the run. Off to shower, eat and start cleaning the carpets.

Lates girls !

Hi ladies,

I ended up not working out at all yesterday. I was just in a fog most of the day from lack of sleep. This morning was an early morning conferece call so again, no workout. Hopefully I can make it to the gym or will try to do MM after work tonight.

I'm really enjoying the kb's and still want to do a few more weeks of that before moving on to something else. This is the last week in this session for bootcamp. Will certainly be signing up for the next session though.

Wendy-good job staying with SS for more than 5 minutes! Hope you get your to-do list all done today. Enjoy your centergy class. Our temps are in the high 80's, low 90's...too hot to enjoy doing anything outside. Good thing you got your walk in early.

Jen-after reading your post I'm considering doing legs at the rec ctr and PUB tonigh. Haven't done that one in quite awhile. BM2 is on of my favorites, not sure I could turn it of afer I started it...

Jacque-finally a day off for you girl! Hope you don't have to spend too much time cleaning. Our trainer is very creative to say the least. One of the gals DH's saw us running but couldn't see the bands and was wondering why we all looked so funny! My sleep patterns seemed to be cyclical. I can go for weeks sleeping good and then have a week or so of not sleeping good. I actually took an over the counter sleeping pill last night and feel great today.

Laura-hope that stomach bug is gone. Hopefully you will feel better by tonight so you can enjoy your time with DH. It sounds very hectic at your work. All that drama can't be good. My SIL thrives on drama, but I'm much more low key. You'll have to let us know if the guy from your step class comes back. Kudo's to him for even trying to keep up!

Have a great day ladies.

Hi Girls.

Well Centergy class went down the tubes this morning in favor of cleaning and will go down the tubes tonight in favor of a visit to DH's cousin's house. I intend to take Pilates on Friday now...we'll see what happens with that one! :p

I did, however, get in a second walk (this afternoon). I had some time to kill after I was done cleaning the house and b4 DS needed to picked up from school. DH wasn't home so I went for an additional 25 minute walk. It was pretty darned nice out there! I thought for sure the humidity was gonna be kickin' but it wasn't. Nice surprise! :)

Diana:: I don't blame you for not working out if you were that tired. Sometimes it's just not worth it. Lovin' the bells huh? Good. I'm glad. LOL-I was waiting for you to speak up about your love for the SS series! :p

Jacque:: I was only kidding around about golf not being a sport. It definitely takes skill. It's just ashame that so many people depend upon the carts instead of walking a bit. JMO. I may go back to the driving range with DH tmrw afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed that I don't get hurt again! LOL That was quite a predicament you almost had yourself in after your run. Glad you were able to get in the house! Reminds me of when I recently locked myself out of my house and had to drive 30 minutes out of my way to get a key! I'm such a spaz! :p Yes, I am very excited about meeting up with Jen in a few weeks! It would be super cool if you and Di were close enough to join!

Jen:: Okay I just ate dinner and my mouth is watering! LOL I guess we can decide where we want to eat when it gets closer. Or we can atleast narrrow it down a bit. :) I trust you on the fab martinis and ofcourse, there is always the wine! ;)

Guess that's all for now.

Talk to everyone in morning.

Good night! :D
