Damage Control for STS'ers....Wednesday

I'm back.

So I got myself out of bed at 5. Did my coffee/pc thing expecting a call at 6 that work is closed. Well it's close to 7 and I haven't gotten that call yet. :( At around 6 I went inside to work out...I decided on cardio/kickboxing for today. I put JS Kick It in the player and took it out about 15 minutes later trading it up for another workout in that 4 pack called Kickbox Underground and again, took it out after 15 mins. :rolleyes: I won't say the work outs were bad. I think I just wasn't in the mood to learn something new. I was totally unenthused about doing them so I stopped trying to force it and gave up for now.

As for the snow and my job...there's a slight chance I could still get a call. DH just left in a 4 wheel drive to do snow removal for his job. When I told him my job hadn't shut down yet he looked at me like I was nuts and told me I wasn't going anywhere. LOL He's probably right. They haven't plowed my street and the rest of the roads outside of the major highway I take to get to work are probably poor at best. I don't know if I'd even make it. I am going to give him some time and then ask him how the roads are before I make the final decision to call out though. If I were to go to work I would have to bring my son to my mom's house first. Bleh.

Okay, done babbling.

I'll BBL with an update and if I end up staying home I intend to get a work out done IN FULL before the day is out! :p
 
Okay, DH says not to bother trying to get in to work so I called out. Now I have to decide what I wanna do...I'm actually hungry even though I had a banana after my feeble work out attempt so I guess eating is the winner!:D
 
My workout today was a 3 mile run/walk. I am loving my runs and looking forward to them now!

Wendy--it's so frustrating on those days that you're like "what do I feel like doing?" and put something in and don't like it. Blah! Glad you have a chance for a full workout! :)

I ate too much for lunch and am trying to curb calories this afternoon. :confused:
 
Morning Ladies,

I'm working from home today and taking care of the girls. DH will be home this morning so I can at least get some work done.

I plan on doing BM2 Cardio Blast premix this morning. I should do my extra leg day today, but feel the need for cardio.

Wendy-I read on the news that some areas of the east coast got a foot of snow last night. Probably best that you and Joey stay warm and safe at home. Our temps will get up to 33 today, but 40's and 50's for the rest of the week. Our house is south facing so all the snow in our driveway should melt.

LauraR-Nice that you are getting back into the groove of running, and enjoying it!!! Keep up the good work.

Diana-I think it is great to do the workout you feel you "need" or "want" for the day, rather than what you "should" do. Granted, that doesn't apply so much when what you "want" is to stay in bed. :p But if it's cardio instead of legs, I think that's great! Go for it. I always plan out rotations and then look at it and say "I'd rather do such and such." A plan is a base for me, and can be tweaked whenever needed!
 
Disc 2 is done and I also did half (15 mins) of 6wk/6pck w/o#2. Add that to the 30 mins of unenthused k/b and I guess I got a pretty good work out after all, huh? :p LOL

Gotta clean up this kitchen...it's bugging me! BBIAB for personals! :)
 
Hey Girls!

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. I had to much to do...no downtime for this chick but I did get that tree down yesterday! Thank goodness. Now I just need to get all those boxes out of my house. I even made dinner for the next two days! LOL My SIL said "your joking right"...nope...now I don't have to worry or think about what we are having in the next 48 hrs!

My workout yesterday was just cardio. I did a run (can't remember how long) and then 30/30. Today I did 3 miles on the TM, 4DS shouldlers, PH abs and PH spuats and plie squats. I am so sleepy today. I didn't go to bed early enough last night and I had to get up before 6!:eek:

Last night I had a training session with the larger lady and her daughter. They also brought along a coworker who is overweight BUT has high blood pressure. The larger lady twisted her ankle but was o.k later and this is when I reminded myself that I wasn't going to train people I don't know, until I was fully certified. They don't care but I do...these women with medical probs and enormous amounts of excess weight and liabilities to me. I have already made up my mind that I am not training the lady with high blood pressure...not yet. When this is my FT job and I am certified that's different. As for the other two that I don't know, I am going to try to find away out of it for now. I am leaning towards telling them that I had my last lot of books come and in order to complete my course I am going to need to cut the training out. That sounds like a good reason, right? I was looking at her yesterday when she was sitting on the floor rubbing her ankle and I was thinking, how would I help her up if I had to? I can't lift her...she's almost 300 lbs. Either that or those two are going to have to sign forms...along with everyone else...but Im still not training the high blood pressure girl!

Ok...manager is around! I will bb to catch up on personals!

Ok I'm back...Kitchen looks a bit better so I feel a bit better. I have all day to clean though so I decided to take a coffee break right now. ;)

Lori:: Yup, you need to be very careful about training w/o insurance and not yet fully certified. I only trained my BF and her good friend so I never really needed to worry before I got certified. I was never insured b/c I let my cert expire before I made any type of real "business" out of it :rolleyes: but you are not track for making a real biz out of this so make sure you do the right thing! It's called CYA (cover your ass) and it's never too soon to start! :eek:

Diana:: Enjoy your cardio! Knowing you, you'll find the time and energy to squeeze in a leg work out later on today! :)

LauraR:: You are sooo right. It's frustrating and can totally kill your drive/motivation to work out at all! I was done after that 30 mins. I was too aggrivated to try anything else. Thankfully I decided to stay home so a little while later when I was "over it" I went back in for round 2 and came out fighting! Ended up getting a great work out after all! :D Good job on your run/walk. Sorry you are feeling like you've overeaten today. It can be hard to keep that in check at times. I fall victim to "boredom munchies" quite often. Especially at work. :rolleyes: I am better at fighting them then I used to be. I don't eat as often as I used to at my job and now carry a few yummy hard candies with me every day that help me when those urges to eat when I'm not hungry hit me!

Hi ladies,

BM2 Cardio Blast kicked my butt today! It was a great workout this morning. Then I took the girls in the shower with me so we are all cleaned up.

DH is occupying the girls so I can get some work done this morning. Also, DS2 is here and helping out when needed. I think DH is going to work this afternoon so I'm trying to get as much done as possible this morning.

Wendy-glad you were able to get in a good w/o afterall. I want to do Inensity a few more times so I can learn and follow it without missing steps or rewinding. You have to be in the right mindset to learn a new w/o. My house is a mess right now, and I don't expect it to get cleaned up until this weekend. The girls go home on Friday so a thorough cleaning is in store for this weekend!

LauraR-I'm loosely following the STS rotation but adding in my own cardio and starting with legs instead of upper body. I try to some kind of cardio 5-6 days per week. I've heard we don't need that much cardio, but I do. Some folks can get by with 3 days of cardio/wk, but that won't cut it for me.

Lori- We do have to fill out some kind of forms for the bootcamp classes at the rec ctr. I think one of them is called a Par Q. I'll see if I can find a copy of it and email it to you. As far as the lady with high blood pressure, exercise and losing weight will probably decrease or eliminate her high blood pressure. ITA w/Wendy, CYA is very important whether you are certified or not. Nice job on the w/o's young lady.

Jacque-did you see, the avs beat the redwings!!! My supervisor finally scheduled my annual review for Friday. Our increases will be on our paycheck on Friday. He should at least give me the % increase for that prior to me getting my check. The increases were determined back in Sept/Oct. I'm hoping for 2%, sad but true. If the cost of living is 2%, it's almost like I'm not even contributing to the company if my increase isn't any better than that. I've heard the increases are between 1-3%. It doesn't make much of a difference on the take home pay.

Laura-how is the asylum treating you today?
 
Hey girls .. up front w/pia today ... it has been steady busy .. so not too bad!! 1/2 our people are in safety meeting/training .. we go tmrw!!! Last night was a great class ... did circuit step ... UB and LB exercises in between cardio circuits .. :D good sweat .. good workout .. myhammies and connective tissue to the butt are still sore ... :eek: . OK .. I am accepting that "hinge" is ALWAYS gonna be sore!! LOL .. b/c everything I love to do just simply works the crap out of it ... LOL!!!

Wendy .. snow day .. yayayaya .. better safe than sorry!!! I hate when I want to workout but bored with everything I try .. sigh .. it is to be in the teens for the next 3 nights - and high of only 25 or so ... under a hard freeze warning - even FLORIDA in places .. this year the DEEP SOUTH .. has been in a DEEP FREEZE!!!!

LauraR - another good run .. WTG!!!!

Di - at home w/your girls - get work done - get workout done .. sounds wonderful!

Lori - I would be scared to train someone that big .. YIKES .. and yes imagine you had that sinking feeling when she was rubbing her ankle .. YIKES ... I have had ONE girl literally ROLL off of a step WHILE stepping and onto the floor .. and grabbed her ankle .. scared me to death .. I dont even see how how she fell was even physically possible .. but she did . . she was ok .. just think she was more embarrassed than hurt .. she didnt come back though :eek:

OK .. sooooo ..I had blackened shrimp salad at lunch - OMG .. I know my breath gotta be bad .. prbly gonna be tasting it tonight .. b/c today is gonna be FULL OUT PLYO class tonight .. gonna try to do some planks and burpees too .. so maybe the shoulder will do OK! .. we will see .. ok .. gotta jet .. have a great one .. I will try to get back to see what everyone is up to ... I will be in meeting tmrw .. so will be out of pocket but will try to check in via the droid!!! ;)
