Daily Check in Wed Feb 24

Supposed to be boxing today. Not sure if I'll stick with it or do another cardio .

How is everyone this morning ?

Becky

Good morning ladies!!! I dont have to go into work until 10:00 this mornnig. So I did JM Shred III and I found it very challenging. I dont usually work out this early so I dont know if that's why I found it so hard or the fact that I havent work out in two day. Not sure which.

After work I plan to do JM BFBM. I really like that one.

Yesterday someone mentioned supporting each other with our diets and I like that idea. Maybe once per week we can post what we eat for the day, or post a healthy recipe. I made peanut butter protein balls the other day. They are delicious (recipe below). I used banana protein. Next time I will only use one cup of protein mix. After Lent I'll add the chocolate. :p

Beavs - I'd love that bean potato chili recipe you had the other day.

Peanut Butter Protein Balls
Ingredients: 1 cup plain instant oats, 1 cup honey, 1 cup natural peanut butter (drained), 1 1/4 cup vanilla protein powder

1.) With peanut butter still in the jar, drain the oil off of the top
2.) Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl with a spatula
3.) Wash your hands and continue mixing the ingredients until there are no dry spots
4.) Roll up balls of the mixture about the size of a half-dollar and place them on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper
5.) Cover with wax paper or parchment paper and refrigerate
Optional: You may also melt down two cups of semi-sweet chocolate morsels and dip one side of each ball in it before refrigerating

Servings: approx. 24 balls
One serving, plain= 103 calories
3.5g fat
11.5g carbs
7.5g protein
6g sugar

One serving w/chocolate= 138 calories
5.5g fat
17g carbs
7.5g protein
10g sugar

Have a great day.
Carmen.

Hi everyone,

I had a good food day yesterday, I started a food journal ( printed out sheets from online ) and I am being faithful. I am really upping my water intake and I feel better just from that.
Today was MIS - I really like the workout, but I wish the music was better..

Had my cereal and coffee..

I did an oldie but goodie.............STEP WORKS and added on core conditioning from MMA kickboxing .

Carmen I love that idea !
and your recipe looks great. I'll try it !

Here's what I just finished drinking after my workout. I've added or left out things before and it's always good. This morning I left out the flaxseed but added Starbucks Via for an added energy boast and flavor.

Oatmeal Protein Smoothie
1/4 cup oatmeal
1 T. nut butter (I used almond)
1 scoop protein powder
1 T honey (I leave out and don't miss it)
1 T flax seed
1 cup milk (I used almond)
1/2 t. cinnamon
ice
blend and enjoy
I often add a frozen banana

Y'all are making me hungry! I'll work on getting that recipe.

I didn't do cardio core last night. I was feeling a little vertigo which thankfully went away (that didn't seem like a good workout for vertigo!) I did 4DS KB and abs instead. Tonight is CLX BC 2
The JM workouts are definitely challenging!

This is from Michelle
Black Bean and Sweet Potato Chili

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large yellow onion, chopped
2 bell peppers, seeded and chopped (I used 1 red and 1 orange)
3 large garlic cloves, minced (or to taste -- I used 5 or 6 cloves because I love garlic)
1 large sweet potato, peeled and chopped into medium dice
2 to 3 tablespoons chili powder
1 to 2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
4 cans (15.5 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained (most recipes call for 2 or 3 cans but I felt it needed more)
2 to 3 cups liquid (You can use water, broth, or beer. I used chicken broth because I had an open carton in the fridge and I wanted to use it up, but I'm planning to try it with beer the next time. Guinness or Newcastle Brown Ale would work very well :p)
salt and pepper to taste

Heat oil in a large saucepan or dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and peppers and saute until the onion is translucent. Add garlic and sweet potato and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes. Add the dry spices and cook for another 1 or 2 minutes. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, black beans, and liquid of choice. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are done. Serve with whole grain tortilla chips or a chunk of homemade cornbread.

Hi all,

I did Billy's Total Body Fat Blasting Cardio workout with weighted gloves and hand weights.

I start orientation on my new job on Thursday and they already have a client lined up for me so that is nice. Plus I am filling out the stuff to become an emergency substitute teacher in our district.

Have a great day!!:D
