Daily Check in Thurs Oct 22

I did sleep in yesterday and forgot to check in. It was a rest day.

I hope that none of us get hit with the flu. No shot for me - can't really explain why. I'm torn about the H1N1 vaccine. Part of me wants my kids to get it and part of me says stay away. I'm nervous about the fact that teens are getting hit hard. Anybody else have thoughts?

Cardio today - LM premix and some abs.

My daughter (24 years old) is very sick with the flu. She called me yesterday & I watched Jackson all day while she went to the dr. and then home to try and get some rest. She is on tamiflu and antibiotics and said she's never felt so bad in her life.
They said it could be swine flu but didn't test her since the treatment is the same.

I am very worried about her and praying that her boys don't get it !

I had the regular flu shot. She and the boys were scheduled to get the swine flu shots tomorrow but obviously now won't go.

Good Morning Glories!

Cardio for me today...I think I'll do CC#6 (Sean's version) after work.

Phyllis ~ I already got the flu shot as NYS has mandated it for hospital workers. The H1N1 shot is also mandated and the hospital I work in is having their first flu clinic today for that one. I'm a bit leary about the H1N1 flu shot and I plan on holding out on that one. Just a few days ago a handful of nurses filed a lawsuit and there is currently an injunction on the mandate, although it probably will be lifted. If we don't have our shots by 11/30, we will be laid off and given a week to get the shot and hand in the paperwork. If after that week you still don't have the shots you will be FIRED!!!

The fact that the flu season hasn't started yet and 75-80 children have already died should be quite alarming.

I have encouraged my college sons to get the regular flu shot since they live in dorms/college apartments. They both refused though  I worry that if they get sick they will miss a lot of school and and a lot of work to catch up on.

:confused::confused::confused:

Becky ~ you snuck in while I was posting. Sorry to hear about your daughter, hope she feels better soon.

Hi everyone,

I am also on the fence about the shots. My husband is an MS patient, as many of you know. His doctor says no way to the shots, he has seen too many people contract the flu even with the shot to raise the possibility of one of his patients with a compromised immune system getting sick.

Now, if I had a child at college, I would want him or her to get it, especially with the lack? of cleanliness at those campuses. My older DS went away to school, and it is amazing how they live, isn't it?

We have had several people at work who have had the shots, and they are ones who are getting sick....go figure????

Becky - I hope this is a short saga for your DD, and that Jackson stays healthy!

Today was Rob's More Amazing Cardio Combos and Ab hits.
