Good morning fitness buddies...

Today I am working chest and back, using Pure Strength. I'm also going to do a full body stretch with Michelle LeMay (44 minutes of wonderful stretching). I think I'll take a break from cardio today.

Have a fabulous Saturday... I'm working today but it isn't too bad. I started at 3:30 a.m. and will get off at 12.

Good Morning Jane...although I dare say it's practically afternoon for you considering how long you've been up!;)

Today is GS Biceps, cardio, leg work and abs for me.

Have a great day!:)

Morning ladies. Today was SJP. DD is spending the day and night at Grandma's and DH and I are spending the day out with another couple friend of ours. I'm afraid it's going to be a feeding frenzy today, so I will have to do a tough workout tomorrow morning to make up for it. I'm thinking IMAX 3 followed by a 40 minute run.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

WHOA Katie! I'm impressed, girl! That's one heck of a work out! I don't know that I could muster up a 40 minute WALK after IMAX 3! Good for you!:)

Good Morning Fit Chicks!

Today I'm going to do PowerHour and a 30 minute steady state run on my treadmill.

Jane: Sounds like a great workout....enjoy!

Wendy: I love working my biceps...sounds like a nice workout for you.

Katie: Enjoy your grown up day!

Hello to all that follow...have a great Saturday!

Good morning ladies

Pamela...I do think Pilates will help strengthen your core. There are just some many Pilates workouts out there!! That's why I decided to stick with Windsor Pilates and start from the beginning. I think you could get the 3 DVD set at Target for about $40. So far I like it but I have only just learned a few moves and breathing..

Jane..sounds like a good workout.

Have fun with GS biceps....that one goes on and on til your biceps are fried!!

Imax# and a run in the same day!!! WOW Katie!...:)

Tough workout for you Tammy. I do like the way the music is in sync with the exercises in Power Hour...I think it helps...:)

I'll be doing a Taebo workout and PLB standing.

On a sad note...we had to put our last dog down yesterday..;( she was 15. It just feels wierd as I haven't beem without a dog in the last 25 years! I still have 3 cats and luckily my neighbors cute little dog thinks of our house as her second home...

Have a great Saturday...:)

Carole,

I am happy to see you are enjoying pilates so far. It's a great work out IMO! I was into Windsor Pilates for quite some time before getting pregnant. I really enjoyed it and gained lots of flexibility all over as well as a lot of core strength! I keep meaning to get back into it but my routine is so packed as it is...I just don't know how to fit it in so I keep putting it off...

So sorry to hear about your dog...that's never easy. (((HUGS)))

Daily Check-in

Good afternoon! My upper body was still a little sore 48 hours after my Pyramid Upper Body circuit training workout. I warmed up with my favorite chapters from the FIRM Super Cardio Mix DVD (mostly floor aerobics) then did Jen Carman’s Strength in Movement for the first time this morning. What a fun workout! I was expecting to enjoy working out with Jen because I love her personality, but I did not imagine liking the actual workout so much. Being overweight for most of my life has done a number on my posture, and I am hoping that this will help. I was greatly encouraged that I was able to do so many of the one-legged moves without modification. My balance and core strength has improved tremendously as a result of all the Cathe workouts I have been doing since New Year’s Day. I am excited!

I weighed myself this morning and dropped 5 pounds this week. I do 10-week rotations followed by a recovery week. During my “play” week, I enjoy more decadent treats than I do during my regular rotation. Part of that weight is likely nothing more than water weight from cleaning up my eating again after a week of celebrating, but circuit training also kicks my metabolism into high gear. My cycle started this morning too, so I should see another good drop next week.

Carole, I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. Losing a pet is never easy. I am sending love and hugs your way.

Blessings,
Heather B.

Hi everyone!

I missed yesterday's check in because I literally didn't have a minute to myself all day. My life is insanely busy, as I'm sure many people can relate to.

So, yesterday I did KPC intensity drills (in lieu of the 20 min run), KM leg conditioning drills, BM abs, and TBS1. It was a really good workout, which my glutes and quads are attesting to today.

Today's workout was BootCamp. My hat is off to those who did that workout twice through in the August rotation. I can't say that there's any part of that workout I'd like to do two times (maybe the stretch!). It's a fun workout, though, and I feel thoroughly worked out from head to toe.

Carole - OMG, I'm sooo sorry to hear about your dog. It's heartbreaking to lose a pet :-( Do you find pilates very different from yoga? I know there's a blend of the two that's called "Yogilates", and I think I want to try that some time.

Robyn - how is your son doing today? I can't imagine how hard it must be to watch your child go through this. :-(

Pamela - I've really enjoyed doing this rotation with you, too!! I would really like to do the Sept Butts & Guts rotation, but I think that in order to really get the best effect, I should be doing all the running, and that's just not possible for me right now (casting a baleful glare at the 6 foot tall snow man out my kitchen window...). I think I need a week or two to do my own thing, then I might start another rotation. One thing that I don't like about Cathe's rotations is that she never uses her own premixes. She has so many awesome premixes, and they really make for good variety. I guess tomorrow I'll have to weigh myself again, and retake my measurements, to see if there's been any change this month, but I don't think there has. I eat too much. I drive myself crazy. BTW, we found out that we can move into the new house on May 3rd!! We're very excited, but as you already pointed out, my life just got busier :) How's your son's eye today?

Shannon - did you finally get IMAX finished?

Wendy - isn't it great to have all your hard work actually make a difference?

Heather - isn't PUB an awesome workout? It's my favourite upper body workout, hands down. Always gives me DOMS, and I've been doing it for years. I like your 10 week workout cycle. And great job on dropping 5 pounds last week!!! Woohoo! You're working really hard, and it's paying off!

Have a great day!
Sandra

http://www.speedyadverts.com/SAGIFS/assets/images/1Thankyou4.gif[/img] Wendy, Heather, Tammy and Sandra, you guys are the best...:)

Glad to hear you liked Pilates Wendy. I am only doing it once or maybe twice a week if I can fit it in..

Sandra...the breathing is the same as yoga, but so far no upward or downward dogs, or any warrior poses...:)

Off to the shower after my workout....:7

Carole, I'm so sorry about your dog. I know how you feel as I lost one of my dogs about a year and a half ago. I still have Jasper, he's the only one I have. {{{HUGS}}} to you.

I did PS back, chest, and abs today. I wasn't sure about adding those abs, my abs are still quite sore from MTV Pilates Mix Thursday night. I am sore up into my rib cage!!

I didn't do my long stretch w/o I'd planned because it is a taped show off FitTV and DH has the living room where the DVR cable box is and he isn't in the best of moods so I didn't ask if he'd move. I just did Stretch Max #1.

Off to the showers... I'm glad I didn't plan cardio today, I'm feeling a little droop after my 3:15 wake up call this morning and I have another one in the morning, YAWN!!!

Carole,

I'm so sorry about your dog !!!! I've had to have a cat put to sleep before and it was awful. My dog is elderly now and is having trouble hearing and seeing. I know I might be in the same position with him before long and I can't even think about it.

((((((hugs))))))))

No workout for me yet today. I've tried several times and keep getting interrupted. The plan is to do GS chest and triceps superset premix. If not today then I guess tomorrow.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

I'm back...well my plan kinda got messed up...oh well.

I went to the gym and did an hour of cardio:

treadmill: 3 mins warm up + 12 mins walk/run
recumbant bike: 10 mins
eliptical: 20 mins
treadmill: 10 mins run + 5 mins cool down

My intention was to run 2 miles straight in the beginning and then divvy up the remaining time on the bike and eliptical but I wasn't feeling it today. I wore my HRM and it said I burned over 600 cals in that hour though so I was THRILLED about that! That's not a TERMINATOR status work out but it sure ranks pretty high up there!:+ :+ :+ No cardio for me tomorrow...I have paid my dues!;)

When I got home I had every intention of doing GS Biceps and ab work. I had already decided to nixx the leg work as I used spent a decent amount of time using resisitance on the bike and the eliptical. Well, the afternoon and evening took off on me...I never got to finish. I have tomorrow though and w/no cardio to do and biceps being my last u/b part for the week, I can do them w/no problem plus legs and abs and still have a shorter work out then usual!:)

Have a great night!

Thanks Jane...and Jasper is one cute dog!

Thank you too Becky...I have had to do this a few other times. It's never easy but in your heart you will know it was the right thing to do...:)
