Daily Check-in
Good afternoon! I went to the club and jogged in the pool with my friend Rebecca Saturday morning. Other than that, I did Clean Max this weekend and rested. I took down the blinds in my living room, washed them by hand, washed the windows, moved my entertainment center and bookcase, vacuumed behind them, and steam cleaned the carpet in that area. I had to remove all my books and DVDs from the bookcase so I could move it, and I have a lot of books and DVDs. I moved the furniture back where it belongs last night after the carpet was dry. I decided to make it my goal to finish cleaning my living room by the end of this month. I am deep cleaning and clearing out clutter as I go. This is turning out to be a bigger project than I anticipated. It is worth it because it is giving me more space for my Cathe workouts!
I am so excited about Drill Max. It looks like a blast. My friend does some of the same moves in her cardio boot camp class. I was expecting 60 minutes of cardio drills, but I am still excited about Drill Max even though it is not what I thought it would be. I love circuit training workouts, and Cathe’s Boot Camp is one of my favorites. This should be a good one. I love the Nike outfits too. I was expecting to modify Drill Max considerably, but I think I will be able to handle it based on Cathe’s description. If the music is good, Drill Max could be more fun than Boot Camp. Planning a rotation with these workouts will be interesting with no pure cardio in the series (other than premixes), but I have some ideas based on what Cathe has shared in her blog.
Speaking of Cathe’s blog, I am loving Low Impact Circuit more and more each time I read more about it. Check out the way Cathe is using a Dynaband with her barbell for curls. Double ouch! As if her barbell curls are not tough enough! Mercy!
I slept late this morning, woke up ready for a challenge, and watched a powerful video session from my Breaking Free Bible study.
I started over this morning with a new personal challenge. This will be a 12-week challenge over the course of 16 weeks (Labor Day to Christmas) with 3 weeks of intense Cathe workouts followed by an active recovery week repeated 4 times with a different Cathe rotation each time. I decided to do a progress check this morning. I pulled out my scale for the first time since the 4th of July and took my measurements. I am delighted to report than I am down 6 pounds, and my waist is 4" smaller.
Of course, the size of my butt is keeping me in my size 18 jeans, but oh well. Every little bit of progress is worth celebrating! I have been eating more intuitively for 9 weeks and not weighing, measuring, or counting anything. I also had a weekend trip to Dallas in there as well as a week of birthday celebration eating. All in all, I am very pleased with my progress. I immediately packed up my scale again. I will likely weigh once a month or so, but it is not good for me to jump on the scale every day or even every week. I think this might be the longest I have ever been scale free. I do much better when that thing stays in the closet.
I started my first Hardcore Series rotation this morning. I did Intervals 1-5 of IMAX3 and the warm-up, standing leg exercises, and stretch from Gym Style Legs. I love, love, love both of these workouts.
IMAX3 is a blast. :7 I was not expecting it to be so much fun. I love the intensity and shorter recovery after the blasts. The choreography is a lot simpler than I was expecting. I did not have time to practice the choreography ahead of time and had no problem following Cathe’s cuing. I modified some of the super high impact by doing a few of the blasts on my rebounder. Tuck jumps and plie jumps are so much fun on a rebounder!
I adore Gym Style Legs.
I love the outfits. Peach is one of my favorite colors. Leg presses are fun with the band. This workout might actually replace my beloved Leaner Legs as my favorite.
Blessings,
Heather B.
