Daily Check in Mon Oct 22

Cathlete
Good morning all.

It hink I will do GS chest and tris this AM. I'm having difficulty deciding what to do since I'm not following a rotation right now. I want to try the new bootcamp, but just don't feel energetic enough today.

Tammy, we saw "Gone Baby Gone " at the movies Sat night. Although it was very well made, it was disturbing subject matter. It is based on a child's abduction. So, if you're looking to be entertained, this probably isn't it.

Good morning Tammy, Phyllis and all that follow...

Daily Check-in

Good morning! Well, I think it is morning anyway. I have not been to bed yet. I did not go to bed the night before either, but I did take a nap between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Wow! After previewing Higher Intensity Step at midnight, I am fired up and ready to take on hell with a water pistol! I am double knotting the laces on my ice skates too because hell is freezing over. This cardio lover is fixin’ to embrace heavy weights.

My plan has not been working for me, so I am ready to give Cathe’s 4-Day Split a whirl. The production quality is nothing short of spectacular, and I am looking forward to experiencing this fun and challenging workout for the first time this morning. I wonder if I should take a nap first?

I had a weighty revelation Sunday afternoon. Miss Cathe inspired me to buy heavy weights. I was feeling discouraged because I am “only” 50 pounds below my top weight after 4 years of this amazing journey and have “only” lost 20 pounds so far this year. Friends have been encouraging me that this is something to celebrate. I am a visual learner. I need to see it and experience it firsthand to really get it. I took a field trip to Target Sunday afternoon for a powerful lesson. When I picked up a 20-pound weight, it dawned on me that 20 pounds is a lot of weight! I bought 10-pound plates, 20-pound weights, and 25-pound weights on sale. I actually found pretty Reebok weights that are encased in rubber with chrome trim. They do not make heavy weights in pretty colors, so these will have to do! They are much more attractive than the cast iron weights.

I carried the 10-pound plates (a total of 20 pounds) up the stairs first. That was easy. Then I returned to my car and carried the 20-pounds weights (a total of 40 pounds) up the stairs. That was more challenging but still doable. By the time I made the third trip up the stairs with the 25-pounds weights (a total of 50 pounds), I was praying and telling God that I could use some help! It definitely took me longer to make that final climb up those stairs. It dawned on me that I was carrying the equivalent of the 50 pounds of fat I hauled around all the time when I started this journey at 260 pounds. No wonder my feet and joints hurt all the time! I was in such bad shape that I had to rest after every few steps to catch my breath. I am rejoicing in my heart and praising God for the amazing progress I have made. Yes, I am still 80 pounds above my goal weight at 210 pounds (size 20), but I am filled with renewed hope after carrying these heavy weights from my car to my home. I can finally imagine how much lighter on my feet I will be and how much better I will feel when I break free from this fat cocoon.

Cathe is waiting for me. I am so excited! I believe with all my heart that this is my breakthrough series. This is a new challenge for me. I have never trained this way before. My game face is on, and I am embracing the challenge and committing to get fit with Cathe’s 4-Day Split!!!! Join me if you dare!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Good Morning Everyone!

Congrats Wendy!!!! Way to go !!! How do you feel this morning?

Heather , Welcome back . I miss your posts. I haven't started the new workouts yet, am impatiently waiting for the November rotation to start and I can't wait !!

I had a great weekend...it was just too short !!

RE: Daily Check-in

Hi everyone,

Well Tammy, I am glad you are happy....I am a diehard Tribe fan. I didn't even watch the game last night, Clevelanders knew the implosion was coming, we are cursed in this town, you know..

Anyways I did do LIS today. Great choreography, very Christi-like, so it wasn't hard at all if you get that stuff easily. The weight work as good, but I don't understand the need to cut between rounds, I still have to pause the dvd to get everything ready for the next round. The core work was good again, new moves that I really liked. One more to go, BC tomorrow to finish this series up, then my Kelly dvds should be here!!!!

RE: Daily Check-in

Good Morning Girls.

Thanks for the congrats!:) I am VERY sore and a bit sleepy but still alive and kickin!

I won't be doing any cardio/lower body work for a few days. I have to wait until my legs are fully functional again. LOL However, I am considering finally getting 4DS bi/tri done today.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!:)

RE: Daily Check-in

Happy Monday everyone! :7

I just finished doing the HIS workout and whoa!

It is great although I need to practice some of those new moves Cathe incorporated in the cardio portion but wow-e!

I loved it since I don't have 30# dumbbells I used my 25 # and my 5# together - not a good grip so I will definitely get some 30's soon, for the barbell portion I went to 50# because I couldn't find my other plates grrrr; but overall I kept up w/ Cathe and the crew. The dvds are very good quality and the ladies looked awesome as ever.

I feel a good tightness around my chest and I am thinking I will continue with this series until the end of November. I know once I get the cardio down pat I will have tons more fun :D

Congrats Wendy on your run :)

Well ladies I am psyched and need a shower so toodles and have a wonderful day !

RE: Daily Check-in

Evening gang! Welcome back Heather, we have missed you!

Vilma, I'm look forward to diving into the new ones but I'm with Becky, I'd like to do them in a rotation.

I did my 30 minute run on the TM. It is actually raining here! I've forgotten what rain looks like, it took me a minute! :p

I did the w/u and challenges 1 and 2 of CC #4, clocked in a just 30 minutes. I skipped the stretch and did SM#3 instead.

Rest day tomorrow!
