Good Morning! Anybody off today? Not me. IMAX 1 today after a Sunday of total nothingness. I mean, I really did nothing! What a waste of a day, although I feel good today.:)

Hi Phyllis.:)

Yesterday was GORGEOUS here ! Sunny and 83. We grilled out and hiked a VERY VERY hilly trail in the woods, for a 50 minute hike.
I also sat in the sun with my book and got a tan line ! In OCTOBER !!!
I have to say I enjoyed my Sunday too !!;)
Glad you had a restful day. Don't worry about it being a "waste". I do that too sometimes, but if you feel better after taking a day like that.......be glad you did and give yourself a pass!!;)

I'm not on a rotation. I tried BBC last week but had to stop in the middle when I was down with a migraine.
We walked both days over the weekend, so today I think I'll do some upperbody.
Maybe a BM2 premix ???
You KNOW with me, that's subject to change at the last minute.....:D

Monday, huh ?? sigh.

Good Morning Phyllis , Becky & all who follow!

The weekend was nice, I had my fil over and we were just busy. Feels like I didn't even get a weekend lol

The only one who can sleep in today is my oldest DD who is on her mid term break this week. No day off for the rest of us although I do belive it is a Federal holiday today ;)

Today I'm doing The Kettlebell Way then tons of cleanmax that didn''t get done due to my company.

Phyllis I saw your post about the Twilight Trailer, my DD says the actor portraying Edward is not who she imagined Edward to look like either and she was not wanting to see the movie either. Me I still have the characters in my mind the way my head formed them when I first started reading the books lol But Edward is the perfect godlike man and nobody would ever compare :giggles:

I'm not following a set rotation for this month either and it feels good to do what I want. With that said it seems I'm doing more kettlebell and runs since this month started ... a nice break from Cathe which I sorely needed.

I forgot to mention that I BOUGHT A KETTLEBELL over the weekend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!
I only got a 10# , which might be light but since I have some back issues I thought it was safest to start out that way.
Now I need a dvd to follow.
I hear a lot about KB way......do you like it ?
I am wondering if they ever go on sale .......they are expensive !
I see on the site there is a place to enter a code........do you know of any floating around ?
I saw a workout at Target but have read several posts of people not liking that one and I don't want to waste my money.

I AM very excited about my KB purchase but for now it sits while I try to find /buy a workout to start out with ! :confused:

I've decided on the longest ub premix from SS for today.
Time to get busy !!!

Oh and no one's off work/school here today either. :mad:

Today is a total body circuit. I took the day off from work as DH and I are going to game#3 of the playoffs in Boston :) I hope the weather cooperates.

Phyllis ~ I did nothing yesterday too...sometimes you just need a mental health day ;)

Becky ~ YAY for the the KB. KB Your Way is a great DVD with a nice tutorial. I have one for sale.

It is definitely Monday, isn't it??? The coffee is going down way too easy today...

Today was an off day, I did Kelly's Cardio Sculpt workout. Can I say fun???????

IMAX1 was tough today. I did it on an 8 in step instead of 6. My heart rate was a lot higher.

Becky, it was beautiful here as well. I did take the dog for a long walk and I also sat on the porch reading. It really wasn't a total waste. I did eat alot though. Have fun with the KBs when you find a good WO for them.

Vilma, how is DD doing in school? What do you think of the True Blood series on HBO? Have you seen it? I am loving it!

Tammy, have a wonderful time at the game. I really am stupid when it comes to sports and it's ironic since my DH is a sport fiend - any sport, any time! Oh well, maybe in my next life.;)

Yay! For the kettlebell! I really love this type of workout.

I own The Kettlebell Way which is AOS Providence ... it has a nice tutorial.

I would recommend that one and I also have Lauren Brooks dvd which is also great.

I really like both of these dvds as they each have a tutorial on the moves and its just nice as I'm just beginning but I here many expirenced kettlebellers like these two.

Kbells are versitile because you can make the workout light and cardio with a lighter kbell or harder and more strength oriented using a much heavier bell, but what is stressed is that you learn the moves/ form properly.

My left shoulder which I used to have to baby alot does not bother me at all since I picked up the kettlebell.



Anyhoo those are the ones I have at the moment and on order is AOS Newport.

I got tons of info over at VF they have an everything kettlebell thread. I'm on my laptop and don't have the links on this one.

But when I started with questions I had a thread I started here which gave me tons of info and links

Vilma ! Thanks for sending that thread ! There is a TON of info on there !

OOPS though.......on the 10 pound KB! Do you think its way to light for me ?
I guess I could return it and get a 15#. NO ONE on that thread mentioned starting as low as 10 # !:eek:

That is funny though, I've been researching KB workouts for a while and the TWO that I have in a shopping cart are the KB way and the Lauren Brooks one !!!! Weird, huh ?:p

I just finished the 60 min. upperbody premix from SS. It didn't include abs, so I might do those later, but I got lots to do this morning, so I better get busy!

Becky - yes its recommended to start with a 8Kg kettlebell

As you can see from that thread I ended up ordering a 8KG & a 12 Kg which roughly is a 18 & 26 pound kettlebells.

I ordered from perform better and the gal on the phone explained to me they were back ordered I should be receiving them sometime this week.

The 15 pound kettlebell is good too since its the only one I have I've been using that one to get the moves down and I get a great workout with it too . I can only imagine how the 18 will feel. :eek:

One thing I did today that I had not done before was use the kbell with my weight gloves which are actually mens gloves :confused:.

Bad mistake as those gloves are a bit big on my hands and they helped tear my palms up .

So if you decide to wear gloves make sure they fit your hands perfectly.

My hands were not hurting at all prior to wearing those darned gloves and now because of them they feel raw and hurt. Afterwards I swing the kbell with my bare hands and noticed how the gloves did the damage instead of the bell. Live & learn lol
