Daily Check-in for Saturday, January 27, 2007

BelovedHeather

Cathlete
Good morning! The weekend is here! I enjoyed the second and third segments of Total Body Stretching yesterday morning and bounced on my rebounder last night. I went to bed early and woke up early this morning feeling refreshed and renewed. I still have a hint of a cough every now and then, but I am starting to feel like myself again! :) Thanks to clean eating, my energy has been consistent all week. :) I am hungry this morning, which is unusual. I am not usually interested in food until 7:00 a.m. I need to fuel my body before my morning workout. I am looking forward to Kick, Punch, & Crunch this morning. :7

I am committed to eating clean on the weekends. Weekend eating has historically been my downfall. That is all about to change. I feel so much better when my eating is clean and balanced. I added more variety to my menus this week. Not only do I feel better, but I am more satisfied with my eating overall. Instead of having a “free” day every weekend, I decided to plan some of my favorite foods into my menu and make them as clean as possible. I am planning to fix my favorite lasagna for lunch. Hodgson Mill makes a gourmet line of whole wheat pasta with milled flax seed. I love the flavor of this lasagna. I fix it with organic pasta sauce, fat free ricotta cheese, string cheese, and Parmesan cheese. :9 It is yummy and nutritious. I bought some almond macaroons that are made with unsweetened coconut, honey, egg whites, and natural almond flavor. :9 I am planning to eat a salad with my lasagna for lunch and enjoy clementines with my macaroons for my afternoon snack. I am determined to keep eating 8-10 fruits and veggies a day even on weekends and holidays.

Cathe is waiting for me. It is time to fuel my body and get moving! :7

Jane and Tammy, are you eating clean with me today? ;-)

Blessings,
Heather B.

Good morning Heather and all that follow...

Heather - I am certainly going to try! I have been stumbling so badly here lately. I'll make it to lunch and then lose it or make it to the afternoon, etc.... I'm with you for this weekend. I have yet to put anything in my mouth yet. I'm going to take one meal at a time. Your menu sounds great. Hey, I'm having lasagna this weekend too! I'm making the one I submitted to the Cathe cookbook, I use all low fat or fat free ingredients.

Today is Cardio Fusion and abs from LIC!

Good morning,

Happy Saturday everybody! Today was B & G, I am going to have serious DOMs tomorrow, I just know it!

I am trying to get on track in the eating department, also, even though we are going out to dinner tonight for my DS report card. I have been doing pretty well, but I don't know about dinner today!!!

Have a great day!

G'morning all. I will be doing CF and LIC abs too! I need to finish my coffe first, and find the correct mindset.

Conni, I agree with you about the light on cardio week. I'm hoping CF will help fix that for me! I'm missing my cardio.

Good Morning Fit Chicks!

I'll be doing the PressPlay workout from Cardio Coach today. I'll also add in some ab work, pullups and stretching.

Heather: Your menu sounds delish:9 I'll also be mindful today of what foods I choose. Overall, my diet is pretty good (lots of salads and veggies). My downfall is wine and cheese.

Jane: Good luck with CardioFusion...it d*mn near killed me the other day!

Conni: Enjoy your dinner out with your family.

Phyllis: I made it through most of GSL yesterday...thanks for the push! Good luck with CF today....the proper mindset IS necessary!

Hello to all that follow...have a great day!

Hey Tammy..... I've only done CF once and I don't remember it with fondness!!! That ranks up there with "killer cardio"! I'll be thinking about you at noon with cardio coach. I decided not to participate.

I have a confession... I didn't get in GS CT yesterday so I'm suited up to do that and BSB combined this morning. (about 1 1/2 workout when you skip the c/d on CT and the w/u on BSB). I will do CF and LIC abs this evening.

CF is done! I only made it through the 3rd DM cycle. I thought to myself that I'd never be able to finish the entire thing. I'd forgotten that there was only 1 cycle left on this workout - it doesnt' use all of DM. So, CF is completed without 1 DM cycle. It's a tough workout, but IMO it's much more fun that MIC. I did LIC abs first.

Just finished GS CT and BSB... boy am I pumped!!

Phyllis - thanks for reminding me about there only being four DM cycles.... that is on my scheduled for this evening. Off to clean up this house!

Phyllis - I am with you! MIC is an ultimate bore to me, a killer, but a boring killer! I think I may have to jump on the CF wagon for tomorrow!!

Hi Ladies.

Today was a 5 mile run at the gym. It was a combo of a couple of Itrains and straight up running. It was tough but fun! }(

OHHH Phyllis!!! Did you hear your name about 6:30 tonight?!! Something about the lines of PHYLLIS!!!!!!!

There are 6 (SIX) drills in CF from DM... complete with those squat thrust/tuck and power jumps at the end YOWSA!!!! After drill #3, I thought.. this isn't as bad as I remember it.... then the nightmare continued!!! LOL.... All kidding aside... this is one tough cardio workout that is not for the faint of heart! I love it even though it tries to kill me! I just wish those blasted power turns were in there... I hate those things!

I only done CF once when it was on the Nov rotation.... now I know why!

Daily Check-in

This was a lovely day. I am in a very good place. I am filled with feelings of peace, contentment, and satisfaction. I love and look forward to my workouts, and I love my way of eating too. This is a lifestyle that allows me to enjoy the journey.

Cathe wore me out during Kick, Punch, & Crunch. This is an intense cardio workout. It is a lot of fun too! I am unique in that Kick Max is my favorite kickboxing workout followed by Cardio Kicks. I love this one and Kickbox too. I love hi-lo, and the Kick Max blast challenge is my favorite rebounding workout of all time. I also enjoy the kick and punch combinations with all the pivots and turns. The leg conditioning drills remind me of a ballet class. Cardio Kicks has a hi-lo flavor too. I love having the variety in my collection. I did the Kick, Punch, & Crunch stability ball abs this morning but watched Cathe do the pikes! The music during this segment of the workout is fantastic! I wrapped up my workout with the Kickbox planks and abs from the Ab Hits DVD.

I enjoyed a very restful and restorative day and finished my grocery shopping tonight. I have energy to burn, so I am planning to bounce on my rebounder tonight. Tomorrow is my planned rest day.

My eating was moderately clean today with planned treats, so it was not as clean as my weekday menu. This is what I enjoyed today:

Breakfast: organic Barbara’s Breakfast O’s (fruit juice sweetened), organic strawberries, almond milk

Snack: ak-mak whole wheat crackers, natural peanut butter, organic banana

Lunch: lasagna (organic whole wheat lasagna with milled flax seed, organic pasta sauce, fat free ricotta cheese, string cheese, Parmesan cheese), salad (romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, red cabbage, carrots, cucumber slices), homemade honey mustard dressing (raw honey, yellow mustard)

Snack: almond macaroons (unsweetened coconut, honey, egg whites, natural almond flavor), clementine

Dinner: corn on the cob (steamed), extra fine green beans (steamed), navel orange

Cardio Fusion is a blast! Y’all are making me miss the new workouts!

Blessings,
Heather B.
