Daily Check-in for Friday, April 14, 2006

BelovedHeather

Cathlete
Good morning! I have been missing everyone like crazy this week, and I am having major Cathe withdrawals. Other than 30 minutes of jogging in the pool Sunday morning, I have not worked out at all and have no workout planned for today. I have already gained a pound this week, so I will have to keep the celebration eating under control this weekend.

My friends and I will be doing our outreach tonight. I am very excited. We packed gift bags last night for 40 dancers and waitresses as well as gift bags for the male bartenders, bouncers, and club managers. I have been learning to walk in heels again too. My feet will not be happy tonight, but I will make it. My throat is feeling a little scratchy, and I am allergic to smoke. I am hoping I will not get sick. I am missing my Cathe workouts too much to have any down time next week!

I talked to a client this week who is a member of the zoo society and learned that the otters have to be sent to their room every few months because they keep tearing up their outdoor exhibit and causing the pool to leak. :+ Sounds like my kind of animal! :7 I will return to the zoo to meet them as soon as their play area is repaired.

Wendy, I hope you are feeling better so we can get back on track together next week! I have reworked my rotation to focus on all my favorite Cathe cardio and circuit training workouts, and I am so ready to enjoy my favorite workouts again. I am pondering the possibility of switching to an all-Cathe rotation for the next 6 weeks between Easter and Memorial Day. I would love to be in a petite size 12 by Memorial Day, and I believe an extra Cathe cardio workout every week instead of my functional fitness workout will get me there.

Carole, did you like Strength in Movement?

Conni, have you tried Classic Cardio yet? I read that you enjoyed Push. How does it compare in intensity and style to DanceWorks?

Love and hugs to everyone else. Have a blessed Easter! :) I am looking forward to checking in again on a daily basis.

Blessings,
Heather B.

Good Morning Heather.

Glad to see you checkin' in this morning!:)

I am happy to report that I am on the mend...FINALLY! I am tempted to do a weight work out today but I am not sure it's the best idea. I think waiting another day or so is wiser. We'll see if I can fight the urge!;)

Good luck tonight! I hope everything goes well. Walk steady in those heels! I know what that's like. I am awful in heels as well! LOL

Good morning Heather and Wendy and all to follow. I'm glad to hear you are both mending. Today is a rest day for me. Yay! I'm off this weekend, but expect to be doing Boot Camp tomarrow and something cario on Sunday. Have a good holiday.

Good morning again! Wendy, I recommend that you do some gentle cardio like health bouncing on your rebounder or walking if you are anxious to do something. In my opinion, you want your body to focus on healing, not recovering from a weight training workout. Now that I think about it, gentle bouncing on your rebounder might actually help your recovery.

Robin, I love Boot Camp! Enjoy your rest day.

Blessings,
Heather B.

Heather: I was considering the rebounder but thought cardio might send me whirling into a giant coughing fit. This is why I was opting for weight work if anything but maybe I'll give it a shot. I'll go easy and if my body can't handle it, I'll quit early. Thanks!

Robin: Sounds like great work outs for the weekend! Sweat happy!:+

Wendy:

Good morning once again! Health bouncing is a very gentle bouncing motion. Your feet never leave the surface of the mat. You should not sweat with this one at all. It is actually not intense enough to count as a cardio workout, but it might make you feel better. Tracie demonstrates health bouncing in G-Force if you need a visual.

Blessings,
Heather B.

Morning all!

It's drizzly and grey here and I went for a four mile run this morning. Still have to do bis and tris and probably some core work.

Much to do today, so here I go!

Thanks Heather. I know me and I will not be able to get on the rebounder and go THAT easy...lol. I will skip it so as not to even TEMPT myself!:)

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Ahhh, it's my last day before vacation. Oh, the anticipation! I haven't decided whether I'll do Step Blast or Imax 2 today, but it'll be a good cardio, whatever I do.

Tig - just behave yourself and wait one more day, okay? No sense in sending yourself into a relapse.

Heather - good luck tonight!!!

Robin - enjoy your day off!

Shelley - I can't figure out how you and Carole can run in the rain. I'd just give it up as a lost cause. I do admire your dedication!

Yes, ma'am!:+

Hi everyone,

Heather, nice to see you again.

Wendy, good news that you're starting to feel better.

Shelley, maybe we ran together :)

Yesterday, during a bit of rough play with my kids I hurt that little bony bit underneath my knee. Last night I woke up a couple of times and it hurt like @#%#@. I was really worried I wouldn't be able to run. Going downstairs this morning wasn't a pretty picture either. But as I walked around the pain started to go away. And after I walked my doggies it was more kind of sore then painful.

So I took a chance and did a 7K run. No problems. Weird huh? That boney bit is still sore, but other than that, it's OK.

Have a great w/o and a wonderful day.

good morning all!

I got a late start this morning, but just finished up C&W step only, and GS chest & tri. Oh my! My arms are quivering just from typing! And I will admit that I didn't even come close to doing all those push-ups! I think that is by far the most difficult chest workout out there. And while I was doing the cross-body extensions with the band - my band snapped and broke! Luckily I didn't get smacked in the face. So now my band is about 8 inches shorter - which doesn't bode well for me because tomorrow I was going to try and tackle GS legs and I can't imagine trying to do it with even more resistance from a shorter band!

I think it's going to be one of those days....

Good mornng ladies

Nice to see you check in Heather...I loved SIM so I ordered the other 3 TLT's!! I would have some problems in heels myself. It has been about 15 years since I wore them regularly...:)

Wendy...glad you are feeling better...:)

Enjoy your rest day Robin and have a great weekend!

Shelley...sounds like your hip is behaving. Good workout!

Shannon, have fun with cardio.

Take care of that knee Dutchie...:)

Tracy...YEOW!!! I have so far been lucky with my bands...I am not real found of all the push-ups either..:)

I'll be doing Core Synergistics and a 3 or 4 mle run.

I had a great run yesterday in the SUN!!!!

Have a good day..

Hi Fitness Buddies!

TGIF!!!!!!!!

I was crazy busy yesterday.....got in a 30 min. interval ride on my bike, and Pyramid bi's and tri's, plus power walked with my daughter, then walked later with my son and hubby! Also went with DH (who owns a landscape business for a side job in the summer) and cut grass but that's a rider so didn't really WORK too hard at that!:p
But was outside alllll day in the fresh air , sunshine and 80 degree heat! LOVE IT!

This morning was a premix from KPC/L&G Kickbox drills, standing leg work and abs! It kicked my butt this morning!

I'm so glad the weekend is almost here!

Have a great day all!:D

Good Day All!

Nice break this morning, I lounged in bed until 8:30 and it was lovely. I had an unscheduled rest day yesterday so am ready to go in earnest. I'm planning TLT BBBB, fun and challenging then I'll go for an even better burn with some of Cathe's leg circuits, BMax and/or CTX PowerCircuits, I guess I'll just make it up as I go:p

Nice to see Heather and Wendy feeling better for the Easter weekend:)

Robin, enjoy your rest day

Shelley, I'm not sure which way the winds are blowing but it's sunny here, maybe it's headed your way:)

Shannon, both of those workout have big fun factors, don't they. Either way you'll get a good one and the time will fly.

Dutchie, the fancy shmancy name for that bit is the tibial tuberosity, all of your quad muscles insert there. Glad you decided not to bail on your run and that it wasn't painful, takes more than that to slow you down!!!:)

Tracy, I worry about the band breaking and smacking me too. Now that you got the bad stuff out of the way, the rest of your day will be nothing but wonderful!

Hello to all to follow :)

Take Care
Laurie:)

edited to add: Hey Carole and Becky!!:7

Hey everyone! Glad to hear that the sickies are on the mend.

It is gray and dreary here in NJ also.We had a little rain early in the AM. I did SJP. Its a great WO, but I dread the planks at the end. I'm tired by then! I do my tricep work with DB instead of BB because I have a cushion on my BB and I don't feel like taking it off just to do close grip stuff. Tmorrow is arest day for me. Enjoy your day everyone!

Morning ladies! Another rest day for me today due to the muscle I seemed to have pulled in my side.x( I was going to do a spinning class for the first time tonight too.x( x( I have debating going anyway if my side doesn't give me too much trouble today, but it doesn't really seem like it's going to do that. I'm SO frustrated. I DON'T want to take time off from working out! If all else fails I think I'll probably just go for a 3 mile walk or something.

On a good note, I'm feeling some DOMS in my biceps today from GS yesterday. I can't even remember the last time I had DOMS in my biceps. GS was DEFINITELY a great purchase!

Wendy - Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Shelley - I think that I would enjoy running in the rain. I like running in anything that's invigorating. That's why I like running when it's really cold out. Good for you!

Well, DH and I both have the day off today, so we are going to enjoy a nice lazy day with DD.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Hi!

Today I'm going to do KPC. Then I have to spend my day grocery shopping and preparing for three Easter dinners. Ugh.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
Sandra

Good morning ladies,

*Sigh* I don't know what workout to do today. I was doing the tanktop rotation this week but just don't want to complete it. I figure now that I can do the bike I should maybe do only one body part a day so it won't be so long. I have the darnest time completing rotations!x( I guess maybe slow and heavy would be a good upperbody to do each day huh?

Today I may start off with SH chest and then 30mins on bike. Didn't do bike yesterday because foot is still sore and swells some. Will have to be determined today.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend!

Oh Wendy, glad you are back to doing some exercising and feeling better!
