Cyndie - I Need Advice Regarding Knee Trouble!

Hi! I don't post much, but I do appreciate you and others here on this forum.

Cyndie, I do have a question you may be able to help me with. I recently was diagnosed with condromalacia in both knees. I am having a hard time getting pain-free from this. I haven't been able to do anything for several weeks now because of it. Do you have any advice on ways to strengthen my knees and on ways to modify higher impact moves to low impact?

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has this same condition and ways you have worked around it.

Thanks,

Michelle

I did a search and found a good personal website of a woman who has your problem. Pretty thourough and informative. Go to www.lanchester.net and then you will see the segment on chondromalacia. Your problem is difficult. This woman said she did not receive relief from taking chondrotin and glucosamine but I know many have. Don't know if you've tried this. Anyway the exercises I am aware of for this condition frankly won't do much for you. They are safe but not terribly effective. I would consult a sports medicine doctor to get the best and latest info. The above website had some info on a brace that has helped her a lot. There was a link to purchase it I think. Getting the brace might be a good place to start. I am sorry I don't have more definitive answers. All my best and keep me posted on what happens. Thanks for the inquiry, Cyndie

Cyndie-

Thanks so much for looking into this for me. I will check out the web site you mentioned and look for a good sports physician. Needless to say this is quite frustrating for me. I miss my exercising and will never be back to the level I was previously if this knee thing is chronic. Thanks again!
