First off, you guys are CRACKING ME UP!!! Too funny. He's shorter than I expected - *maybe* just a TAD taller than me, so somewhere around 5'10, max. The other personal measurements, I'm sad to say, I have no knowledge of.
It was amazing to work out with him - he's VERY good. I don't know how to compare to my Cathe trip - probably about the same, but for some reason I think that I was more nervous / excited about meeting Tony, and I don't really know why. He seemed more of a "myth" than Cathe, if that makes sense at all.
We did get more "Tony time" than I remember getting with Cathe, but that could also be the nature of the NY camp - we are all together at this ranch, not spread across different hotels, and Tony isn't going home at night - he's right there with us through everything.
Doing the workouts with him was truly amazing - he'd do the same things as he does in the X - starts doing the moves, then starts to wander the crowd to point out form issues or to motivate. He did the hands thing for me for the Heels Up move in ARX (leg raises for lower ab work) - holding his hands in a narrow space around my feet, telling me "Don't touch my hands!!! Straighten those legs!!! THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!" - that was beyond fabulous. He helped me with some yoga postures as well, pushing me farther into position. We had a smaller group at one point move to the gym area for him to work with us on pull ups, and after that was done, he helped me with my hip flexibility issues (I suck at the Frog pose, and needed help with it, and he suggested other things to do as well - and literally just bent over me to push on my knees to stretch out my hips (totally professional, and incredibly helpful - I don't mean to make this sound smarmy at all!). After the last workout he talked to me afterwards and said that it was clear that I was kicking ass with the X - that made me feel SO great - I was absolutely beaming.
He's REALLY bright. Funny and goofy, but also bright. He SO knows his stuff - I was amazed at how smart and thorough he was. Not just a pretty face, that's for sure. He's also incredibly passionate about his work and about helping people "get it," and become passionate about it themselves. At the same time, he's incredibly down to earth, and just totally normal. I thought he was great before, now I'm blown away by the guy and really, really respect him.
I'd HIGHLY recommend attending a camp if you at all can - even if just for a day (a few people at NY did this, and they did not regret it!). What you learn, the motivation you get, the people you meet ... it's all good. Very, very good.
Did that answer your question? I feel like I can go on and on about this, but I'm sure I've typed enough already!
Oh, and I have to mention that Tony posted on my BB P90X journal thread. So now I think he TOTALLY rocks. Beyond the moon, rocks, this Tony does.
