Creative way to wrap/present a Christmas gift for DH

Hi all.

I purchased a set of tickets for a Broadway show for DH for Christmas. I will not get the actual tickets in my hand until a couple weeks before the show (February). Can anyone offer any creative ways to present this gift to him?
I am going to buy something tangible for him to open as well but I don't just want to hand him a card with the show details in it. Anyone?

TIA!:D

Wendy, can you get your hands on a playbill/book/music score/t-shirt/mug etc. for the show? If you can you could get that and then make two pretend tickets using your computer, and tuck those into the book/playbill etc.

HTH!

ETA: or a CD of the show :D

How about a bit of a 'surprise': include a memo about the yet-to-arrive tickets in with something less exciting that could be associated with the occation, and that he'll see first, like a new tie?

He opens the present, sees the mundane gift (but get an attractive tie that he really could wear to the show), thanks you for it with a bit of forced enthusiasm, then notices something else in the package: what's that? OMG! I LOVE that show!

(You get the idea? socks would also work, or an apple (for "the big Apple"): a 'boring' gift, that could however be linked to attending the play, and which hides the exciting gift. Or you could have several of these small/practical/boring gifts, each giving a clue to the tickets)

I love both these ideas.

I was thinking along the same lines as Kathryn. You could wrap the clues box-within-a-box style, and have the final thing he opens be the two pretend tickets or computer-printed voucher.

I am famous for playing slightly mean tricks on my husband, so that is what comes to my mind on this one.

My stubborn DH whined and moaned for an iPod touch for christmas until I just bought the damn thing. But I wrapped it, put it into a bigger box with some cans of stewed tomatoes and other heavy things that make weird noises when shaken. He has no clue what it is, the other day he guessed a power tool.

More along the lines you are talking about, I also bought him an album from iTunes, and I printed off a picture of the album cover and wrapped it up in a shirt box (with several bags of Skittles, LOL!) and a little note that it has been purchased, so you could do something like that. I like Kathryn's idea.

Thank You Everyone!!!!

I have been inspired and pretty much know what I will do now. This is going to be fun! :)
