Crazy strong and loving it for June 1

Good morning,

I will take a nice long walk today! Tomorrow I will try to get a real workout in;)

Have a great day and workout! I will be back!

Good Morning!

Hey Belinda! Nice to see you!! :) Awesome to hear you're out of the hospital! What state are you in today? Nice way to get back to working out, enjoy!

Hope everyone had a nice long weekend. Mine was pretty decent at work. Very very slow! Our census was WAY down, and my patients weren't even THAT sick. Kind of nice, yet the nights were very long!

Yesterday I went for a really nice run at the park, did 10 minutes longer than I usually do. It was hot out (80's) but there was a very nice breeze that would cool me down. Felt great!

Today I go to my youngest son's class to help for 1/2 hour, and then I'll come home and do PUB, Up Mix Only (thanks for the inspiration, Heather!) and then Brazillian Butt Lifts Bum Bum (cardio w/ lower body toning).

Melissa: I read your post from last night. SOOOO funny about the fire and the huge marshmallows! My Dh bought one of those giant firepits and we were SUPPOSED to have a fire last night and roast marshmallows!! (but it got too late and he had to go to work). But we ALSO got the HUGANTIC marshmallows (pink and white ones!). So you'll have to let me know how it went with them. ... Nice workouts the last 2 days for you!

Nora: Congrats on finishing Insanity!!!! You did a FANTASTIC job!!! Will you follow a rotation now or just do whatever? (which I'm so not good at! LOL!). Anyways, I'm very proud of and inspired by you!!!

*waves* to everyone who follows today, I'll try to BBL!

Good Morning,

No I don't want to go back to work today. It is miserably hot outside right now and the humidity is horrible. Tonite I will go for a walk at the park and then do some kind of stretching and abs.

Belinda-nice to have you back.

Chris-sounds like you had a decent weekend.

Hi ladies. Today I will do cardio - but don't have a clue what I'm going to do just yet.

Chris - glad I could inspire you with Pyramid. I'm still sore! Good job with the run too.

Belinda - welcome back!

Roxie - it's hot hot hot here too. No lunchtime run for me.

Hi Melissa, Jessica, Debbie, Jolene, and Nora!!!!!

Morning ladies! Sorry for going AWOL on you guys over the weekend, I totally disconnected as best as I could. The weather was AMAZING. I think I ate and drank my way through the weekend though so I'm kinda glad to be back in my "routine" you know what I mean? Worth every last calorie though, weekend was super fun. :) I did manage a run on Saturday and another on Monday, took Sunday as my rest day this week (I know, you're all so proud I took the rest, right??).

Today I decided to add STS to my weight rotation for the week. Haven't decided if I'll do a full 3 month rotation or just swap it in for a week or two for a change of pace. All I know is HOLY PUSHUPS! Meso 1, disc 1 is pushup CITY! All good though, I enjoyed every sweaty minute. :) I did ab circuits - no equipment abs after that and realized I need to make more of an effort to focus on abs, I just get so discouraged when I do abs - they are my weakest area so to focus on them frustrates me to no end. Any tips on how to re-inspire me abs-wise, I'm all ears ;)

Quick personals -
Nora - done with insanity huh? I seriously want to buy it this fall all because of you!
Chris - good luck with your workout tonight, sounds like you have a doozy lined up!
Belinda - glad you are on the mend, enjoy the lonnnnnnng walk!

I decided to start STS this week instead of next. I don't feel that I need a week off so I'm just going to go for it. STS has recovery weeks after each 4 weeks anyways, so that will be good. I could not wait to start my workout this morning. I so love this series.

Today was STS Meso 1, Disc 1, Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. Had a great workout except I'm really struggling with pushups for some reason. Not sure what that's all about.

These were the exercises. Not sure if posting the weights even matters. I had to lower on a lot of them. These exercises are very deceiving. They catch up to you quick. And she does a huge amount of pushups. I'm not too fond of that, but I did them.

1.5's means doing one full range of motion and then a partial rep. These killed.

Push Ups - Standard - 8 reps
Push Up Wide - 8 reps
Push Ups - Standardb - 20 then petered out
Alternating Seated Overhead Shoulder Press - 12's/15 reps
Barbell Curl - 35#/21's
Incline Chest Flyes - 20's/15 reps
Seated Rear Delts - 12's/15 reps
Bonus Band Pulls - Green band/15 reps of 3 pulls, then relax - these burned like a mother
Alternating Incline Curl w/Twist on SB - 15's/15 reps
Decline Pushups - 20 reps (was able to do all of these)
Incline Front Raise on Stability Ball - 5's/15 reps each arm
Standing Quarter Stop Curls Both Arms - 12's/12 sets doing one full curl, one quarter curl, one half curl - that equaled one rep.
Prone Pushups on Stability Ball - ??? - was suppose to be 20 reps - not sure how many I did. Not 20 that's for sure.
Seated Lateral Raise Both Arms High Ends - 5's/15 reps
Seated Concentration Curls 1.5's - 15#/15 reps
Straddle Pushups - 10 reps, was suppose to be 20
Side Leaning Lateral Raise - 5#/15 reps
Seated Curls Alternating + Both Arms - 12's/16 reps alternating, 8 reps using both arms.
Chest Flyes - 20's/15 reps
Seated Overhead Press - 12's/15 reps
One-Arm Preacher Curl on Stability Ball 1.5 - 15#/12 reps
Core Pushups - Boot Camp Ttyle - Did 10 bootcamp style, did 10 more on my knees
Seated Front Press Double Arms 1.5\'s - 25#/12 reps
Reverse Dumbbell Curl - 12's/8 reps doing 3cnts up, 1 cnt down; 8 reps doing 1 cnt up, 3 cnts down.
Staggered Pushups - 10 staggered, 10 standard on knees
Incline Rear Raise on Stability Ball - 5#/15 reps
Barbell Curl Wide Grip - 35#/21's

Now that I'm typing this out I'm really bummed about the pushups. I know when I did this first time around I completed almost all of them without going on my knees. Not sure what has happened to me? Guess I know what I need to work on.

Seriously, don't feel bad - I did the exact same workout this morning and also had trouble with the pushups!! I think its just a matter of reconditioning ourselves to be pushup-savvy again. If you aren't doing them regularly like during STS, you just lose it a little bit. You can do it! That's what I'm telling myself anyway ;)

Good morning. My chest is sore to the touch today from yesterday's workout..ouchie.

Nora - I read your post from yesterday. I do use a stationary bike for the Cardio Coach workouts. I got mine from Walmart. It's the Gold's Gym upright one. I paid like $170 for it two years ago and it was worth every penny. The thing is awesome.

Chris - okay, so those HUGE marshmallows are a hoot! You can actually make two s'mores out of one marshmallow. They are so big that the center doesn't really melt on the first roasting so you can actually re-roast it and make another s'more. These things will probably last us all summer. Our fire pit is made from a 50-gallon drum. A few years ago we had a party around Halloween and DH and my brother cut down the drum and cut a jack-o-lantern face in it. Looks totally cool when we light a fire in it.

Gotta go...my boss is calling me into his office. The nerve...;)

BBL for more personals.

Nora - Congrats on finishing Insanity!! Nice job, my friend!!

Belinda - Hi!! Good to see you!!! Hope you are feeling better.

Chris - Glad you had a good weekend at work. Sometimes being slow is good.

Roxie - It's humid here too. Looks like we're going to have just one humid summer. :( But I'd take it rather then snow any day.

Heather - Have fun with whatever cardio you choose! I'm gonna do BM2 cardio blast pm tomorrow. Looking forward to it. That workout is so fun.

Jessica - You did the same workout I did today. Yes you are right, holy pushups batman! That was hard. Love it, though! I agree, we need to get use to doing them again. Hopefully within the next couple weeks I'll be back at doing them with no problem.

Melissa - You are so funny! Tell your boss you're too busy for him! ;)

Well I ended up going for Cardio Fusion. I figured it was a good compromise between step and some bootcamp stuff. I wasn't able to do the whole thing at lunch though. It was a good, sweaty workout and time flew by. It was hard stopping it so I could get back to work!

Hope everyone is making it through the day - I've decided today is harder than most Mondays and that we should only be required to work a half day after a long weekend.

Good Evening,

It was almost 100 degrees when I got off work way to hot to walk so I came home and did TJ 20min cardio party and Ab Jam floor work.

20min Stats:
19 min
12 in the zone
124 min hr
146 max hr
100 cals burned.

Ab Jam:
9 min
0 in the zone
97 min hr
116 max hr
28 cals burned.

Not a very good workout but it is suppose to be a lite week.

Hi girls!

I wanted to let ya all know I'm in my week 8 which is the final week of Insanity in fact this coming sunday will be the very last day of Insanity for me. I really love it, and I probably will want to get the follow up program to it called Assylum when it comes out in the fall. But I'll be glad to be finished with this rotation of it because its not something you'd want to do often unlike Cathe. I'm not dissing Shaun T, not at all I love his workouts but its nice to go to something that's at a different level of intensity after completing Insanity. I love to change things up and keep it fun and challenging. I probably will try emphasis on the word try to take next week off but I can promise not to start a new rotation of anything during that 1 week off. I'll probably do Cathe's workouts whatever sounds fun that day or get back into Cardio Coach which I missed.

Here's today's workout:

Insanity-Max Cardio Conditioning = 50 Min
Calories burned= 785

Insanity Cardio Abs= 16 Min
Calories burned= 98

Total calories burned= 883:eek::cool:;)

Belinda- I hope that you are feeling better and enjoyed your walk. I know you're itching to get in a really great workout though, so hang in there. Just feel better, ok kiddo!

Chris- You've been busy over the weekend eh? Nice run for you yesterday, WTG! Then today, you plan to do some cardio from Brazillian Butt Lift, sounds like fun. I can't wait for Turbo Fire, I heard that June 18th is the official launch date. Nice job on the workouts, keep up the great job!;)

Roxie- It sounds like you enjoyed your memorial day weekend. Its always hard to get motivated to go back to work after a holiday. I'm impressed with your walks, that's awesome. I hope you have a great walk today and the weather behaves for ya, and enjoy that stretch after. Great job Roxie!!

Heather- I'm glad you had a fun workout today with Cardio Fusion, yes there's a nice variety and mix there its never boring. Great job on your workout, I'm still giving cudo's and hugs to you for your 5K and PR work. :);)

Jessica- STS is da bomb and I always dreaded weight work in the past but with STS I fell in love with heavy weights. Its soo much fun and Cathe is just awesome to the 10th power in STS, and I love STS Ab Circuits. My personal faves are weights & Plates and Medicine ball Abs. I bet your loving STS since you mentioned loving weight training. Yes, Abs are always tough its an area I'd like to personall erase on my body, but It takes work. I always hated abs growing what and they never taught them correctly with form in school so the dread factor was huge. Cathe has taught me the correct way to do them and man can I feel it. I don't have cathe worthy abs yet, but hope to in the future. Great job with your workout!;)

Debbie- Seriously impressive workout for you today with STS Meso 1, that's a toughie. Yes there are lots of pushups. I'm just happy with my recent development between Cathe STS, P90X, and now finishing up Insanity I can now do pushups from my toes. This is the first time in my life I've been able to ever do those. I'm finally getting stronger upperbody and abs to be able to stay in a plank position and do pushups like everyone else does. Some days I can go down lower than others but I'm still doing happy dances that I can do pushups from my toes. The most I've done at one time is 30 not too bad for a newbie to Push ups like me. STS is da bomb for heavy weight training so I know you'll be loving it. Meso 1 is probably the least of three cycles that I like but it does get to be more fun in Meso 2 and 3. Its all good!
Great workout for you today, you always rock the workouts!;)

Melissa- Yes, by all means if your too sore to workout definitely make it a rest day then. Thanks for the info about the stationary bike. I'll have to look into that. I get my weights and exercise clothing from Walmart.com, can't beat their prices. Have a great rest day!

Roxie- Oh no a 100 degrees!!! I don't blame you for changing your workout to Turbo Jam. I'd be limp like a wet noodle, I can't handle hot weather especially since getting MS. I can totally understand your change in workouts. Great job on changing things up so you still got a workout in today ^^^5's!:)

That's it for me today girls, have a great evening and take care.;)

Hugs!;):)
