Crazy Strong and Loving It for Dec 31, 2009

Good morning,

Not sure what I will do today? Maybe I wll take a rest day?

DD wants to go to Regensburg today, it's gonna be crazy!

What are your plans for 2010? Happy New Year, everyone! Stay safe!

Hi everyone! Last night I ended up skipping the gym. I almost did nothing at all. Just not feeling "it." But I saw my copy of HiiT starting me down...so I reluctantly got dressed and dove in. I did the 40/20 workout. NICE! That's my kind of workout. No frills, no fuss, just intense. My HR was up in the 170s for many of the drills. It was only about 24 minutes before the cool down. I burned 211 calories by that point. I was feeling energized at that point so I went ahead and did PUB. I'm feeling it in my shoulders more than anywhere else.

Today may end up being a rest day, not really sure. DH's entire family is in town (a rarity) and getting together for lunch. I am, of course, sitting at work where it's DEAD. I, unfortunately, have projects that are due today. Ugh, figures. If I can get everything done, I'll leave early and go with him and it'll be a rest day. If not, I'll probably do legs after work.

No big plans for this eve. We're old and boring at 35!

Good Morning,

Tonite for me is CTX Step and Interval I watched this last night it didn't look to bad. I have 0 plans for tonite to. We are moving DHs mother tomarrow out of a house she has been in for 51 years so there is alot of sorting and deciding to do.

Belinda-have fun with DD.

Heather -good workout.

Last day of 2009! Wow!

Not sure when/if I'm working out today. Just heard a big explosion and the electricity flashed off, so I'm thinking we're goign to lose power any minute (I'm typing fast!). 2 power trucks just went by...

The plan is to do either MMA Boxing or Athletic Step again....

I'm working tonight. As is my DH. I'm not so sad about working , but moreso about how crappy it will be to work 1 night, off for 1 night, and then work 2 nights. I'll do ok, right???

I'll catch up with you on my past few days of workouts.

Tuesday: I did MMA: Kickboxing. As discussed on the forums and by Cathe, it is less intense than most all of the Shock Cardios. The weirdest thing was that Cathe would hype it up and say you should be "working hard" and it being "tough", and it wasn't! LOL! I did like the music, and the combos weren't bad, just not very intense. (which is intentionable). She did throw in some "blasts" at the end of each combo, which spiked the HR a little more (but not like HiiT's for sure!) The ab work at the end is great though! LOVED it! Very different, MMA inspired.

Wednesday: Did my last Plyo Legs of MESO 3. These workouts are really awesome. ALL the plyo legs are. I really hope to use them more in my rotations. Tomorrow is my last day of MESO 3. Second round. I can't believe it's over!! Definitely liked it even more the 2nd time around. And never boring.

Belinda: Enjoy your day today! You've defnitely been working hard and very busy this past week+!!

Roxie: Let us know what you think of that CTX workout. I do like the CTX steps. The 10-10-10 isn't too bad either, the 10's go by so fast!

Heather: You're too funny about almost not working out yesterday and then cranking out Hiit + PUB!! You nut, you!! I think the best way to welcome a new year in is by getting a good night's sleep. My days of NY's Eve parties and drinking are ovER. Too many bad hangovers!! Haven't partied in many many years. In fact, usually, I spend it home with the kids, and we toast our favorite drinks at midnight (the boys pick chocolate milk!). I'm going to miss that tonight...

*waves* to Debbie, Nora, Wendy! Happy New Year's Eve to you too!!!!

Hate to hear you'll miss that toast with your kids tonight! How are you liking Athletic Step? I've been avoiding step lately because it really bothers my plantar faciitis. But I'm going to have to give the 2 new ones a shot soon. I do have 2 more HiiTs to try first though. I'm almost wishing I hadn't bought the whole bundle. Not sure if I'll ever end up using MMA Kickboxing being that it's such a low intensity workout. Not that I couldn't use a few of those I know.

Roxie will be proud of me today! :) Today was Legs and Back (well, it was suppose to be Yoga X but I'm stopping here and wanted to get my leg workout in since I missed it last week) but I did Legs and Abs since I haven't done either in two weeks and I did back yesterday. Had a great sweaty workout. Now I'm ready for a three day break and then I'll start my new rotation on Monday. :D

Balance Lunge (BSS) - 15's/25 reps each side
Calf-Raise Squats - 15's/25 reps
Reverse Bench Crunches - 15 reps

Super Skaters - 25 each side
Wall Squats - an eternity at high and low levels, did these on the stability ball. I really felt these today for some odd reason.
Woodchops - 15#/22 reps

Step Back Lunges - 15's/15 reps each side
Alternate Side Lunges - 12's/24 reps alternating
Hanging Knee Raise - 20 reps

Single Leg Wall Squats - 1 minute total, 10 second holds each side alternating, used stability ball.
Deadlift Squats - 20/side (Didn't touch the floor unless I lost my balance)
Bench V-ups - 20 reps

1 minute break

Three-Way Lunge w/kick - 5 each side going side, 45 degree, front, with leg lift or kick.
Sneaky Lunges - 20 each side
Stability Ball Crunch - 21 reps

Chair Salutations - 2 - 30 second chair poses (burned like a mother)
Toe-Roll Iso Lunges - 8's/20 each side
Oblique Dips - 15 a side

Groucho Walk - 4 up, 4 back for 45 seconds
Calf Raises - 20's/did 15 reps slow, 10 reps fast with feet turned out, front and in.
Oblique V's - 15 each side

80-20 Sieber Speed Squats - 30 a side (I liked these)
Hip Raise - 25 reps

That is it for P90X.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! HOPE 2010 IS WONDERFUL FOR ALL OF YOU!

So I did MMA: Boxing. Holy COW , I LOVED this workout!!! LOVED IT!!!! I dare to say it might be my favorite so far. And that's saying a lot, because Step is always my first love and I really liked Step Moves and Athletic Step! First of all , Boxing was easy to "get", no complicated moves. And I've always loved how punching can get your HR up there. The 3 combos were not high intensity, easy to moderate, but then she'd get into the upper and lower body blitzes! YES! I freakin love it! I got interupted with a phone call about 1/4 of the way into the abs, so I never finished abs, but did do the stretch. My FAVORITE move, I could do forEVER, is the jump rope move: circle-circle-figure 8.

Debbie: Good for you for finishing off P90X! Did you see any results from what you did do?

Heather: I loved Athletic Step when I did it, it was my first Shock Cardio workout. I don't remember the specifics, but know I kind a little lost on the warm up only and maybe one combo in the workout. I was surprised there was "dancey" type moves in it, (cha cha's, etc) because I thought it was going to be more "athletic". Still , I do remember I loved it and wanted to do it again. As far as intensity, not as intense as the HiiT's (of course) but got a good sweat going for the time it lasted.

:)Hi girls and I wish you all a Happy and wonderful New Year!:D:eek:;)

I worked out today. I was supposed to do YogaX from P90X but its too long and boring for me plus they don't really show modifications as much as a regular yoga dvd, so I substitute it with other yoga dvd's I already own.

Here's today's workout:

STS Shock Cardio: MMA: Kickbox= 53 Min
Calories burned= 543

I had a lot of fun with this one but found that at least for me it seemed eventhough I have lots of practice with the individual moves that it really seemed force me off balance doing them. I kept thinking I should be leading with the other leg and arm, not sure why. The last round just never clicked for me because of the changes of leads I found myself off balance. Its probably just me and my MS issues, but I did enjoy the workout I'll need more practice with it to feel solid in it.

Crunch Yoga- The Joy of Yoga= 35 Min
Calories burned= 96
This yoga workout is much shorter and does show modifications and its not boring and has good music. MS has made me a bit weaker and less flexible than I was before. I'm stronger now thanks to Cathe and STS but the balance and flexibility is still something that just not as good as it used to be. I do work on it and know that it has improved since the initial onset of MS, but not as improved as I'd wished. Oh well, there's always room for improvement and goals to strive towards, plus I'm stubborn I want to reach those fitness goals. LOL!!

Total calories burned from today's workout=639

Heather- Awesome job on 40/20 HiiT that's a majorly intense one, bravo!!! And you did PUB girl, you are rockin' the workout today. Well done, you definitely deserve a rest day after that. Have a awesome and happy new year!

Roxie- have fun with CTX Step Intervals, I like that one and love that its not too long. I hope your stomach and headache issues are now a thing of the past.

Chris- I hope your electricity situation is now fixed and working fine. If you do workout today, have a great one. If not, relax and enjoy. Have a very happy new year!

Debbie- Great job on P90X Legs and Back. I know its a great workout. So are you still doing P90X but taking a break? Just curious, did you do 90 days of it? I'm thinking about maybe getting P90X Plus to add on to P90X. I posted a question about it to get others opinions on it in the open forum but no one has responded to it. Oh well. Have awesome New Years! All the best in the New Year bringing you lots of blessings.

Belinda- Have fun today and enjoy not working out. Lord knows you've done plenty of workouts in 2009. Happy New Years! Seeya next year!;)

Special shout out to Wendy, wishing her and all of you guys a very Happy New Year full of blessings for you and yours.:);)

Hugs!:);)
