Crazy strong and loving it for April 26, 2010

;)Hi girls!;)

I'm done working out for today! Yeah, I couldn't sleep and my back was killing me so I decided to get up and get my workout in rather than lay there in agony.

Here's today's workout: This is starting week 4 of Insanity for me!;)

Insanity- Pure Cardio= 40min
Calories burned= 601

Insanity- Cardio Abs= 16 min
Calories burned= 98

CTX- Upper Body Split= 56 min
Calories burned= 459

Total calories burned= 1158:eek:

Belinda- Nice job on week 3 of your rotation doing Meso 2, Disc 18, Back & Biceps, that's a good one!

Debbie- Wow! I've never done that premix from BM2, great for you and awesome calorie burn, bravo:)

Roxie- Nice workout you have planned for today,4ds KB cardio only. I know I've done that one lots of times and really enjoy it. Have fun!

Jessica- Sorry your feeling kind of a bit grouchy today I hope your day gets better. Please take care of your achey shoulder and let that muscle group rest. Great job with doing STS Legs and Meso 1 Disc 3! STS is tough stuff.

Heather- Have fun today with your workout no matter which you choose to do. Have a great day! ;)

Hi to Wendy and Chris!:);)

Hugs to everyone!:)

Nora

Ok I gotta know - do you love Insanity? A few of my friends bought it and now I'm all intrigued. Is it worth it? How is it different from some of Cathe's STS Shock Cardio workouts (HIIT for example) or Plyo legs?

Hi ladies - I did my own premix from SB. I did the first 2 combos, the completed of thee third and the first blast. I really was only wanting to do 30-35 mins and this was it.

Nora - I'm with Jessica on how you're liking Insanity. I've seriously been wanting to try it as an alternative cardio.

Jessica - perhaps you slept funny or kick got the neck/shoulder thing started and you just haven't let it heal? Sucks when it's from sleeping on it though b/c it's not like you can control that one!

Jessica and Heather,

I just saw your posts and to answer your questions as to if I like Insanity I do! Its lots of sweatfest fun! It's harder than HiiT and Drill Max but sort of like that, but its different to HiiT because its Max Intervals with a very short rest then back to a long Maximum Intensity Intervals again and again. It works you very hard for approximately 40 minutes or up to an hour. You will burn butt loads of calories. I will caution that you need to have good work out shoes that are made for shock absorption and impact. Sean T recommends a really good crosstrainer. I tend to alternate between Nike Turbo 9 Shox running shoes and Asics 1140 running shoes. Crosstrainers are getting harder and harder to find these days. I also added those puzzle mats to my workout room floor so they could help with the stress reduction and reduce the impact. As you know I do have knee issues, but I still do Insanity because I love the intensity of Heart pounding lungs heaving sweatting buckets type of workouts. Yep, I'm a proud Cathelite. :p I do modify because my workout room isn't as big a space as they have in the video and I do make some of the high impact jumps easier by not going as high or making the moves a little smaller and always with soft knees. So, if you go into it understanding those may or maynot be concerns for you then I say go for it. Yes, its worth it. I think its an awesome addition to any cathe weight workout DVD. I'm currently doing week 4 of insanity which is a 60 day rotation. I do insanity every day 6 days a week as the rotation explains and then 3 days a week I add cathe weight workouts so I don't lose my muscle strength and tone gains. I also add a cardio coach run 1 once a week which I do on my Insanity Recovery workout day (its a toning and stretch w/0 weights sort of thing). Last week I mixed it up with some Kettlebells instead of regular weights, which was fun. I'm sort of making up my own version of a rotation I guess. LOL!!

Basically, if you enjoy doing Drill Max and love HiiT I think you'd probably love Insanity.

I hope that answers your questions.

Hugs girls!;)

Good evening.

After dinner DH and I took the dogs for a 45 min. walk! Glad DH is home. DH couldn't believe how tiny I got since the last time he saw me. ;) That's was over 3 weeks ago. I bought some pants a few month ago, they are all to big. I am not making the mistake again buying cloth for the futur.

Heather, those weights are amazing! Your premix sounds awesome!

Jessica, I only done 1 round of STS so far, had way to many health problems. I do like STS a lot! Hope you feeling better soon/

Debbie, I am doing your STS/GS rotataion. I am in my 3 week, love it!

Nora, WOW, on your 2 hour workout and cal burn today. My DD is doing the Insanity too, she love it!

Roxie, sounds like you gonna have a lot of mother/daughter time! I miss beeing around my DD, and of course my DS! Nice workout today, btw!

Wendy and Chris, hope you had a great weekend and workout!

Good night everyone. I am getting ready for my run soon. See you all later!

And now I REALLY want to invest in Insanity!! It sounds awesome - maybe I'll wait and get it in the fall when its better and more appealing to do cardio inside versus running and stuff. Might be on my bday list this year :)

Just checking back. DH and I ran a little over 3 miles at lunch. I am going to go home and do about 30 minutes of KPC (the drills and a few of the advanced combos) then abs. I am sooooo tired, but I think it's the zyrtec. It's not even helping with sinus drainage so talk about a waste of meds.
