Just getting us started, thought it was time for a new thread. It's a rest day for me. Just heading off to work, and this evening is a dinner for a co-worker that's leaving. DS seems to be feeling, it helped that I realized all his asthma meds were expired, we got new ones yesterday and they helped a lot. Kim

Good morning, Coolers!

Today was Imax2, except for the 3rd interval of 1 legged hops that makes me grumpy. It's just soooo long and boring. Tonite will be a little wood stacking, then start the prep for the colonoscopy.

Kim, I hear that Walmart is one of the few stores that made gains last quarter. Gift cards sound good to me right now. I always dread the shopping fuss of Christmas. Give me Thanksgiving anytime, where we just eat!! Is Remembrance Day focused on any group in particular?

Gotta run, which is what I'll be doing tonite to the bathroom I'm sure.

Good Monday afternoon

Home for a little while as our furnace is till acting up so the repair man is back.

Took yesterday as a rest day and went to see Madagascar 2 with the family. A little bit mature yet for DS as I think he bored a bit. I find a lot of these kids movies humour only adults would get. But it was his 1st movie and during all the previews he kept asking where are the cartoons!

I'm going to do Abs Diet 2 w/o tonight. I haven't tried it yet and would like to incorporate some interval w/o into my cardio. Hopefully this will help shit some of ## off.

Kim - where are you going for dinner? Going away dinners are always so much fun. Hmm, never see winter again? Let me think, yep I think i could manage that:D:D If it is a nice sunny winter day out I love it though, especially for Xmas. Just wish it didn't have to get so dang cold. Good on you for almost finishing your Xmas shopping. I've just started. I don't mind the shopping it's figuring out what to get.

Jeanette - Remembrance Day = Veterans Day so all groups who have served for our country. Glad to hear you had fun shopping. All your prep for your procedure tomorrow reminds me of what I have to do for Morgan tonight too. She gets her front claws removed tomorrow, so no food, drink past a certain time tonight. Not sure if my other cat Abbey will be too impressed with that! I think it was just my allergies bothering me yesterday as I feel fine today thank goodness.:)

Off to see how the repair man is doing.

Just check-in b/4 I sit down to relax

Seeme to have the furnace fixed so fingers x'd.

Did the Abs Diet for Women interval cardio w/o for the 1st time tonight. It was only 20 min. It was okay but just not FUN so I popped 4DS LIS and did just the step cardio from that too.

Tomorrow is supposed to be Butts & Gutts which I don't have (but just made a deal to trade for it:D:D) so I'm going to try my new gliders tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a good day.

Sticking faithfully to the Nov rotation, and finished IMAX 2. We're enjoying the day off here, still finishing my scrapbook off and going to watch TBL tonight.:p

Patricia Are you following any rotation?? Let me know what you think of the gliders. I've been looking at the STS clips with the gliders. DO you think frisbees of old plastic picnic type plates would work??

It's a nice feeling having the Christmas shopping done, DH even did some wrapping this am. I don't usually do it so early but just wanted to get it out of the way before our holidays (which are in 29 days, not that I'm excited or anything ) Definitely, it's coming up with the ideas that are hard. We went to Earl's for dinner, 7 ladies, it was a very nice outing especially as I got to skip piano lessons ;) and there was no work today.

Jeanette I can't remember is the test today?? I think sure, good luck!

Kim

Kim - LOL at 29days and counting. Just like Xmas as a kid. Thats great you're so excited. I did a Gliding w/o tonight - all lower body and boy are my hamstrings ever weak and now sore! I'm glad I got this as if I can do this frequently b/4 STS comes out I should be prepared for the bonus sections:D I do think paper plates or frisbees will work. I might try it on carpet next time to see the difference from the laminate wood floor I work out on. Killer ab section that combines push-ups with the plates under your hands too! Also, imagine doing a pike but instead of a ball under your toes the plates are under your toes. Something else to work up to.

I'm following the April 08 rotation but I don't have all the DVD's so just substituting. B&G was supposed to be tonight so thought the disks would be a good su. Also did Kathy Smith's Standing Abs segment from Tummy Trimmers. I'm thinking of taking that into work. It might be a good one to do on my lunch hours. Hmm, maybe even get a couple of the women to do it with me as I'm head of our Health & Wellness committee.

Used to take piano lessons as a kid and since we have enought guitars both acoustic and electric around here I thought I might buy an electric keyboard for Xmas. Might be something DS can grow into.

Jeanette - hope you're test was uneventful today.

Okay, off to watch Terminator, Sara Connors Chronicles from last night

Good evening,
I'm back and good as new. Wow, that prep was, um, inconvenient. I did have to stay pretty close to the toilet. I had to drink 2 liters of the bowel prep fluid last night, then 2 more liters this morning starting at 5 a.m. I had to drink 8 oz. of it every 10 minutes until it was gone. That last cup was a mind over matter thing to get down. I'm glad I started an hour earlier this morning as I had to stop twice on the way to Reno this morning. Anyway, it's over. The procedure itself I remember absolutely nothing about as I was sedated. Doctor did tell DH that I have diverticulosis or something like that. I'll read the report from my doctor as I don't remember a thing. DH said that there were no polyps so that's good. Coming out of the sedation wasn't bad at all and I was very hungry so we went to IHOP and I had their pancakes and coffee.

Tomorrow will be PS Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I don't own the PS workouts, so think I will sub with CTX, which I haven't done in forever.

Patricia, so do you like gliding? I don't even know what it looks like, guess I need to look at a clip somewhere. Hope you got the furnace fixed. How was vet's office? How is Morgan handling her new home? Do you play the guitar? I used to when I was younger. Started out with a super duper cheapo blue chip guitar. Used to sing and play all the time up thru high school. Sang with my other 2 sisters all the time. I had to tell my DH tonite about Remembrance Day in Canada. I'm sure he was sooooo impressed with my knowledge . They have a little Veteran's Day parade here in town. Will have to call and see if my Dad took his old Jeep in it. He was in the Navy during the Korean War back in the 50's.

Kim, are you seriously done with your Christmas shopping? My gosh, woman!!! I bow to you! I am one of those that doesn't even get anything wrapped until a few days before Christmas. I am such a procrastinator. WTG on Imax2. I did enjoy that one yesterday. Bet you didn't wimp out like me and did the third interval (Genie Hops, yuk).

Okay, ladies. Gotta move along, will check back in the morning.

Morning Coolers:

Wow Jeanette - you must be glad that it is all over and done with now and hope never to have to do that again! Talk about a cleansing. I'm sure though you must have lost some weight but put it all back on at IHOP:D:p Here is a link to the gliding discs.

http://www.glidingdiscs.com/

My legs feel firm today so I think I'll try to include it in my routine every week or so. My hamstrings are so weak that I think I'll use this as a mini goal to try to accomplish b/c they are tough on that muscle group let me tell you!

I played both piano and guitar growing up but I'm not very good at all and I would have to re-learn everything at this point. When I played the guitar I would avoid in song with the F chord in it as I just could not contort my fingers for that one. So there was a lot of songs that I just couldn't play:D I am not musically talented at all and if I had only just one wish that would be it. I feel if you have music in your life it makes is so much richer.

I bought Kathy Smith's walking dvd yesterday and want to preview it. I think it might be something that I could do in my office on my lunch hour. I also have her Tummy Trimmers AB workout and it has a good standing ab segment which would lend itself to doing at work too as it doesn't take up much floor space. Just looking for ways to get in some of my w/o during the day or even an extra cardio w/o.

Hope everyone has a good day. I have Rhythmic Step on tap for tonight.

Good morning,
Today was CTX Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. Tonite will be a golf practice. Think DH will go with me too.:)

Patricia, you're absolutely right about putting anything I lost back on at IHOP. I don't even weigh myself anymore, don't want it to determine what kind of day I'll have. I'm over that. LOL about avoiding the F chord. I think all the songs that I learned out of the Mel Bay beginning guitar book at the F chord. On Top of Old Smokey, Clementine, Skip to My Lou... It wasn't a favorite for me either. I wish I could have learned the piano. My sister picked it up later in life and does okay with it. She's very active in the music program at her church, but mostly plays guitar and sings for it.

Kim, how did Morgan do yesterday? Hope your DS is feeling better and the antibiotics are working.

Just finished PS Chest, Shoulders, Triceps. It was nice having a shorter workout today.

I play piano but I'm not musically oriented, it's all very forced, and many, many years of piano lessons. It's funny watching dd take piano lessons, I'm learning alot of things that I probably was suppose to know. Lots of aha moments! As an adult, things are making more sense. DH has been trying to teach himself guitar.

Jeanette, so glad that you are finished with the testing!!! I remember just have my Christmas shopping done because of that bus trip to the USA was the perfect shopping time and I didn't want to be stressed before Christmas with our trip at the same time.

Kim

Well just finished up Kathy Smith's PY - Power Push. I spent several hrs tonight looking for my DVD recorder receipt as I need it to exchange the recorder:mad: DH bought it for me last Xmas and he has no idea where it is. Oh well, I'm going to try and take it back as the store I bought it from only opened up about this time last year + I still have the original box which indicates it was mfg Oct. 07.

So I didn't feel up for RS and was watching Workout and thought how can I sit here and watch a t.v. show like this and not w/o? So got up off my butt.

Tomorrow is suppose to be Bodymax but I don't have that one and did BM2 just a week or so ago so might sub for something else.

Dh went to p/u Morgan from the vet but her paws were bleeding a bit so they kept her for another night. I'll be picking her up and I guess then I get to pay the bill now! My secret plan didn't work:D:D

Okay, off to get ready for bed.

Morning,
Today was floorwork, stability abs from Butts & Guts. I really enjoy this DVD, probably the most of any leg work and abwork. Last night DH and I went to the golf course for a little practice time for me. He was amazed at my drives off the range. Now, if I can only duplicate that in my game/lesson on Friday night.

Patricia, LOL about the secret plan! Hope Morgan is ready for pickup today. Did you do Rhythmic Step? I like that one, though DH says it sounds like circus music.

Kim, hope you are feeling over your little bug. Nice to have shorter workouts for sure. I think I've fallen way too much into the less is better. If I go any shorter, I'll be under 30 minutes LOL! I did get a nice walk in yesterday during my break. Hoping for another one of those today as I won't be getting a bike ride in. Not much daylight to do that anymore after work.

Hello Coolers,

Sorry I haven't been around lately, but life just seems to be getting busier and buiser. We have been trying to find a tutor for oldest DD. She is not doing well in some of her classes. She does all right with the homework, but when it comes to the test she does horrible! I think we may have found a prospect today. I have had people wanting between 20-50 per hour. I thought the $50/hour was way more than we could handle.

Jeanette, Glad you where able to enjoy the IHOP after your forced starvation. :D

Patricia, I tried the piano when I was young, but it just never clicked with me. So I ended up playing the Alto and Baritone Sax. How is that furnace doing?

Kim, I couldn't possibly get all my Christmas shopping done yet, because I have no ideas from anyone on my list! LOL :D I keep asking the girls what they want, and nothing that doesn't cost and arm and a leg gets out of their mouths.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Well I'm a happy camper tonight. My DVD's that I ordered arrived - SJP and BB-timesaver. So i did SJP (minus abs) b/c I'd heard such good things about it. The music was GREAT. I wish all DVd's had great music like this.

Picked up Morgan from the vet today. She is doing fine but hiding under the couch. Not sure how I'm suppose to get her medication into her if she hides. I'm sure she'll get more comfortable over the next few days. The worst is over.

Laurie - finally the furnace seems to be working, fingers are x'd. $50 sounds steep for a tutor especially when there will be several sessions. Hope you find someone that works out.

Jeanette - LOL about your drives during practice. Isn't that always the case?

I set the VCR to record Survivor but turned the cable box off so good thing its on again with timeshifting.

Off to bed and watch ER. Are you watching it tonight Kim?

Got PS Legs and abs done last night, plan to do KickMax sometime today.

Patricia- I did watch ER, that show makes me cry every week. I don't know why I watch it! I also watched the Office, they "went" to Winnipeg on a business trip so the whole city was hyped to see how we were portrayed. I have Survivor taped
Isn't SJP a blast, I love the music and the fact that the routines are short and sweet.

Laurie $50/hr WOW!!! That's a lot! Is your dd getting frustrated with school? Life can be so stressful for a teen.

Jeannette That was nice of DH to go to the driving range with you! Did you get a walk in yesterday? What's the weather like down you way? It's been quite warm for us but it keeps going up to the melting mark and we're getting lots of icy roads. I wish it was cold or warmer!!
Kim

Hi gals, short one this morning. I am going to my DH's workplace for a going away breakfast so can't chat. Have a great day, I'll check back tonite.

Hello Coolers,

Today will be a leg workout at the gym, and probably some type of cardio.

The gym equipment really is quite different than free weights, and will take a bit of time to get used to it. Love the assisted pull-up machine though! :D LOL!

Patricia, Hope Morgan decides that it is ok not to hide under things soon! I think that whole Body Blast series had some great music in it. :D

Kim, Yep I think DD does get frustrated with herself. She of course thinks that she really works hard to study, but I question that a little. She says she studies, but I don't think she knows how to study in the right way. I'm hoping that the tutor will help her with that.

Jeanette, Have a great time today!

Laurie

Good evening,
Finally back to catch up. Today's workout was a mix of step from Tracy Staehle (HISM) and Christi Taylor's Solid Gold Step. Love the music in Christi's. She is truly talented with her cuing (IMO). I can be away from this workout for a couple months or more and then come back to it and be able to accomplish it without too many mistakes due to her cuing ahead of time. Something I can't do with Cathe's 4DS LIS and HIS.

I had a good golf game/lesson. Made some improvements over the last game/lesson. Need to really work on my short game of pitching, chipping and sand/pitching wedge shots from 30-65 yards. My putting was very good today. All 1's and 2 putts, which was good. It just takes time and lots of good practice. Winter will put a damper on it, once it gets here. I do have a game with a girlfriend on Sunday. Should be lots of fun.

Laurie, glad you are enjoying the gym equipment. Bet you look forward to going with your DD. Did you secure a tutor yet? $50/hour does seem pretty high. I remember being a tutor at the junior college back in 1977. Think I got paid $2 per hour.

Kim, I didn't get a walk in today, but did get one yesterday. Our weather has been in the 60's all week. Next week it will turn a bit colder I see, down into the 40's.

Kim, hope Morgan decides to come out soon. I love the songs in SJP. I like the music during the chest and tricep work. Even the abs are good.

Must go now, need to see what's on tap tomorrow workout-wise. Know I'll have to do Back and Biceps sometime.

Nighty, night.

Got PS Back, Biceps and Abs done today. My biceps are going to feel it tomorrow as did KM with 1 lb hand weights yesterday ;) Nice having the shorters this weekend on the Nov rotation. I'm enjoying this rotation, as long as I get my most dreaded workout (GSL) done this week, I'll be able to complete it!

Jeanette I'm glad the golfing is going so well. Are you able to keep golfing all year? I really should try my Christi Taylor again sometime. Only tried it once and choreography was so complicated!

Laurie, I think your right, learning to study is a skill in itself. Is it certain subjects that dd has difficult with?

This am I booked next yr's (Nov 2009) trip, the Disney hotels. Spent a hr on the phone  I'm such a compulsive planner, but the early deals were so good (40%) I had to grab them, already alot of the hotels were booked for that deal. It's all refundable.

Will maybe go shopping this afternoon for MIL, she is one of those people who really gets into Christmas, decorating, baking, presents, etc. She seems quite down because her hip is still bothering her so much that she can't do much. I told her I would pick up some Christmas presents for her and bring the kids over sometime to put up her tree. I know it's early but I think it would cheer her up and decrease her anxiety about getting things done.
Kim

Good Afternoon or should I say evening?

Lets see, I was suppose to do Cardio Kicks yesterday but I did not that recently so did Turbo Jam Fat Blaster instead as it was a virgin w/o along with 6 min. Abs from Slim Series Express.

Had a busy day today and will take it rest day today. Up and out for a family breakfast then onto get our Xmas family pics done and should have them back in 2 weeks just in time for sending out in Xmas cards. Right after that we drove 2 hrs to p/u the ski doo we bought last weekend. Picked up groceries on the way home and just getting dinner started (Or should I say DH is - steak and cesear salad yum yum). Don't think I could w/o after that tonight anyhow!:p:D

I borrowed some older w/o videos from the library yesterday as was going to do a KB w/o by Janis Jannell I think her name is but the DVD didn't work in 2 players I tried. Got 2 other VHS tapes that I'll preview to see if worth trying. One of the is the Original Buns of Steel that I'm pretty sure I had back in the day but can't remember a thing about it. But since I'm concentrating on legs these days I thought it might be time to revisit it.

Kim - you really are into Disney!:) And super organized. :):):) I was wondering if trips would be cheaper this year due to the economy. I think I'm pretty much finished my rotation from April now so might just wing it for the next week or so. Feeling like trying some videos that are collecting dust. I think I might start decorating the house tomorrow for Xmas. DH won't put lights up outside due to a sore shoulder so not sure what I'm going to do there. I looked in the yellow pages for a service that does that but what would they be under?

Jeanette - you should have seen the golfing Survivor style on Thurs. night. They used a sling shot instead of golf clubs. It looked like fun! Wonder if it'll catch on.

Laurie - almost envious of you going to the gym. I went on-line to look at a local gym then I remembered why I don't like them. Can't make their schedules for classes. I was sort of thinking it might be something I could do and put DS in the day-care but that really wouldn't be fair to DS during the week as he wouldn't get to see me before time. I'm half tempted to look around for kettlebell w/o's as they seem to get such rave reviews.

Kim - BTW when I was at Sears today they were selling Supreme Pilates for $280 I think. That's what I paid for it a couple years ago but at least the shipping would be free. Didn't know if it interested you or not. I keep trying pilates b/c I think I should but can't really get into it.

Okay, off to see if DH needs help in the kitchen.
