~~~~Coolers in September~~~
Morning Ladies,
Well I finally got that Disc 5 done, and Disc 6 Legs. After work I still want to get in a 30 min. run and the Ab Circuit Pilates workout.
DH and I will have the evening free of children. Youngest DD is going on an overnight church function, and oldest will probably be at the football game. :rolleyes: So we will probably look at new refrigerators, ours has been giving us problems lately.
Kim, Hope you are less tired today, those mandatory things can make you more tired than your normal job. :) Good plan on the workouts.
Have a great day!
Kim - LOL over your post. We have to get 35hrs of continuing education/learning every year so I would have been happy to get 8hrs done in one shot! Our company gives out a gift to everyone who does their 35hrs so good incentive. I was too tired last night to w/o so watched Survivor too! I agree with the personalities. I was sorry to see Betsey go home:mad: I don't like Russell but he sure is entertaining and fun to watch for his downfall:D
Laurie - the fridge we have came with the house. Its a 2-dr vertical one which I'm not sure I like but I LOVE LOVE the automatic water dispenser. It also dispenses ice which DH uses, not me. Freed up room in the fridge as threw out my Brita filer just. I'm hoping my next fridge has the freezer on the bottom as I've heard good reviews on those from friends.
Some sort of cardio on tap tonight. My BIL is visiting the cottage this weekend (he lives in Vancouver) so will spend Sat. there. It's also DH's annual poker tournament at the cottage so I'll leave with DS and stay at my parents then drive back home Sun. It's my father's B.D. Sun. so a good reason for a visit.
Finished month 3 (Push phase of CLX), one more 4 week phase to go! Which phase did you like the best Patricia? I read alot of posts where people had the best results during the last phase (lean phase) so hoping I see good results in the next month. Trying to eat cleaner, the book "The End of Overeating" is motivating me to think more about what/why I'm eating.
Went to watch ds's exhibition game today. He did well espcially considering he is very small and didn't play at all last year but DH thinks he will be cut tomorrow in the final rounds. Which is okay with us all. DS realizes that this will probably happen so hopefully he's okay with it. At this age there are 4 levels of hockey and I think he will be playing at the second level rather than the top.
Patricia Have a good time at the cottage and enjoy the visit with your brother!
Laurie Did you get a new fridge? We got a new fridge and stove last year and it's funny how exciting it is to get new appliances. I hope you got some time to do something fun with your free evening as well
Kim
Evening Coolers
Got home Fri. night and guess what was in the mail??? A form to p/u a package at the P.O.! My Turbo Power Tower arrived:) So went and got it straight away and DS helped me assemble it in my w/o room. So tried it out for the 1st time tonight with Disc 28 C/B. It takes a little bit of fiddling with exactly where to position the step underneath the BB and also how high up to put the clips that hold the BB but towards the end I finally got it right. I think one drawback I found was since this is a push/pull w/o with heavier weights it was a bit difficult to straddle the step to lift the BB off to get it on the floor, add more weights to get ready for a deadlift or lat pull. On the video the guys helped each other lift their BB's off, but you don't see what the girls are doing. Also, with the actual production modes there are 2 horizontal braces on the legs at the floor that make it harder to slide your step under it so moving it out of the way can be finicky. I'm not certain how easy it would be to have someone stand at your head and spot you as I think the top horizontal bar might get in the way. We will see.
Had a great weekend. Spent Sat. afternoon visiting with my BIL then off to my parents. My sister stayed the night and my brother and his family came over for the evening. My father's 79th b.d. was today so a nice family weekend.
My mother tried the slow cooker recipe with my sister and they weren't too excited about it. Oh well.
Kim - I think I liked the Push phase better. It was hard in Lean to go back to higher reps:eek: I might do another rotation after STS and combine it with something else. I thought it really started to slim my legs. How did your DS do at hockey. Hopefully not bad news.:(
Morning All,
Today was Disc 7, and will get in a run and the Med Ball Abs workout after work. Saturday was TaeBo Get Ripped #1, and a run outdoors. It was so beautiful out, but then on Sunday the rain/wind/cold arrived. :(
Patricia, I will be getting the freezer on the bottom with French doors. Currently we have the freezer on the top. It just makes more sense that the fridge is on the top, and you don't have to bend over to get an apple in the crisper! ;) We have not ordered it yet, because I have to figure out my company discount/delivery to see if it is cheaper for me to order it that way. I was wondering about the tower, let us know how you are liking it.
Kim, DH and I really didn't do anything special, just enjoyed a quiet evening without the girls around. :D We got to watch what we wanted to watch on TV! How did your DS do in hockey?
Have a great day!
Evening All,
Floor aerobics was on the schedule today so pulled out Rockin Body Cardio by Michelle Dozois, then did STS AB circuit - weight portion only.
When DH picked up DS he had just gotten a fever, so I'll be home with him tomorrow. I'm in good shape at work so okay on that score. It'll be good to get my w/o in during the day!
Laurie - DH got a look at the tower today and seemed to approve it. He kind of looked excited even.
Kim - hope you had a good day.
Off to watch Heros
Morning Ladies,
This morning was 1:1 Plyo Legs. Last night it was to rainy/windy/cold to get a run outdoors, so I was on the TM and it was a great run. ;)
Patricia, Cool that the tower got the ok from your DH. Will have to save my $ to buy one too. Sorry to hear that your DS is not feeling well, hope he gets his rest. Did you get to watch Heros?
Have a great day!
Evening Ladies
I can't believe Sept is pretty much over, well after todays gusting cold wind and rain I can I gues:confused: Ran out to get my eyebrows waxed and it was mad dash in & out of the car:rolleyes:
Got Disc 29 - plyo done and over with in the afternoon and even made some granola bars that I've been trying to get around to doing. Delish.
Laurie - you do plyo voluntarily? You should try Cathe's before it comes up in the rotation if you haven't already. I kind of dread them:eek: All up-to-date on Heros now, just need to start up Dexter which began this week.
Not sure if I'm going to work tomorrow or not. DS still has a nasty cough. Will depend if I have to give him any Advil in the middle of the night. If no fever when he wakes up I'll send him.
Take care,
Morning Ladies,
What a chilly morning we had this morning. I had my winter coat on to walk the dog! :eek: Disc 8 Back & Ticeps is done, and I will get in a run and Ab circuit weights & plates after work. Yes I'm going to try that plate portion again. :D
Patricia, I actually enjoy the plyo work, as long as it is only for 30 seconds to 1 min per exercise. ;) I have found that the plyo helps with my endurance. My runs outside and on the TM have been really fast since I have put it into my rotations. This whole year has gone very quickly for me. :rolleyes:
Have a great day!
Morning All
About to do 4DS - kickboxing cardio only along with some sort of ab w/o.
We had a flurry of snow here this a.m. for about 2 mins.:eek::eek: Am I ever glad I didn't have to get up and go out in the cold this a.m. Still home with DS today. He probably will be able to go back to daycare tomorrow.
Laurie - I guess its time to get the winter clothes out:confused:
Afternoon All
Got 4DS - kickbox cardio done this a.m. along with STS - yoga abs. Boy, I didn't realise I had DOMS in my legs until I did my w/o. All good though.
Went out and did a little shopping this afternoon. Got DS's Halloween custome (which is too small so must exchange) and bought Jessica Sienfield's cookbook - the one that has vegetables disguised in the food. Thought I'd give it a try. DS likes veggies most of the time but can be picky.
Even though we've had some light flurries today, it feels warmer than yesterday. Oh well
Take care,
Sorry I've been MIA, ds ended up with asthma problems and we spent yesterday in the ER. Got him all medicated now and he's back at hockey tonight:rolleyes: He didn't make the top hockey team and is now trying out for the second level but missed Monday's tryout as he was sick.
We have some cold weather here as well, had to scrape ice off the windows this morning.
The lean phase of CLX is hard with the compound movements!
Morning Ladies,
Today was Criss Cross Cardio, and I have not done that workout in quite a while. I opted to do one of the premixes, so the workout was the warm-up, kickboxing and stretch.
Patricia, Say it isn't so, we can't be getting that white fluffy stuff yet! :rolleyes: My DH put the comforter on the bed, because he was to cold. I of course put extra blankets on way before. :D So what is your DS going to be for Halloween?
Kim, Glad your DS is doing so much better. Has to be hard spending that time in the hospital though. Oh those compound movements, sure do get the heart rate up! ;)
Have a great day!
