~~~~Coolers in September~~~
Oh peach or strawberry, hmm, hard choice, I think I would have picked the strawberry as well.
Oh, the hockey career starts! I hope he enjoys it. Most of the rinks aren't too cold, will he have outdoor games?? Better to invest in Tim Horton's gift certificates.DH always says that their coffees come in 3 sizes, one, two or three periods.
Morning Ladies,
Well I got my butt out of bed so that I could get KPC done. I even did the ab work, which I didn't think I would because I finally got the Circuit Ab workout no equipment done last night. Surprise Surpise, I didn't have a problem with the pikes on the ball! :eek: I will have to credit Jillian for giving me the strength in my upper body and abs to handle that. :D
Patricia, I'm going to be going out with my girlfriends next week, so I better get my workout done that morning. :D I know that I will not want to do a workout after a few drinks and appetizers. :D Good thing our going out night is on a cardio day. :D That is a great idea on printing out your workout sheets for each workout. Wish the workout manager would incorporate all her weight workouts. Someday I think we just may see that option. ;) Hope your DS has a great time with hockey.
Kim, I think a Christmas present might be in the works. :D I also want to get Kelly's new 30 min. workouts, just wish I could preview more of how much time is spent on the step. :( Or is the step just used as a plyo tool. Mmmmm got to love a good cup of hot coffee when you are cold. :D
Have a great day!
Just to let you know that I'll be gone the next few days. Do you remember the bus trip I took last year? Going again. We leave very early tomorrow morning, stopped at Fargo, North Dakota for lunch/shopping then to Albertville, Minnesotea (big outlet mall) for the evening. Saturday is Mall of America and Southdale mall in Minneapolis and then Sunday driving home with a stop in Grand Forks, North Dakota. 55 women, all shopping for the weekend. My mom is coming this time. She and her friend who died recently used to love weekend shopping trips to the US so I'm glad she decided to come with us. My sister couldn't make it this time due to work.
I'm going to do my best to help out the US economy during it's recession:D
Just completed Disc 27 - Bi/Tr/Sh.
Off to watch Survivor that I taped. Glad I saw the commercial for it yesterday or I would have never known:)
Kim - have fun shopping. Anything specific you're looking for?
Laurie - you almost convinced me to buy one of Jillian's DVD's tonight, but I resisted. I heard she swore a lot on TBL and though, I really don't want anyone yelling at me:rolleyes:
Night Night
Morning All,
Disc 3 Legs is done, and I must say it was fun. Cathe really does put out really good leg workouts. :)
Kim, Thank you for helping out our economy, and have a great time shopping. I'm guessing that Christmas presents will be the major purchases. ;) Nice that your mom could go with you.
Patricia, Jillian doesn't yell at all in the DVD, so am I tempting your yet! :D You either like her or you don't. You might want to search youtube, because I think someone has put the workout up. I watch only a small portion of BL, and she called someone a bitch. It didn't sound right, and sort of came out forced. I'm hoping that the director isn't wanting her to be tough and nasty. :(
This weekend I haven't decided if I'm heading to my DD's CC meet, but I my workout will be InteralX+, and Ab Circuit Weights/Plates. Subbing the X+ workout for Drill Max Premix 3.
Have a great day,
Morning Ladies,
On Saturday I did IntervalX+, and the Ab Circuit Weights & Plates workout. Not sure how I feel about that one. I think I need to try it out again, because sometimes what I heard wasn't what I should have been doing when I looked up at the TV! :rolleyes: I have not gotten in Disc 4 yet, but will do that after work. I have a tooth that decided to cause pain at 2am this morning. I just needed to stay in bed for a bit this morning. :rolleyes:
Oldest DD did very well in her race on Saturday, and came in 21st. She was 2nd for her team, and the team came in 3rd out of 34. :eek: This course was very hilly, which DD seems to love. :eek: We also meet her BF Saturday night, and he is very nice. He helped me prepare dinner, and was social with both DH and I. ;)
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Morning Coolers
Today is my 7th wedding anniversary. Nothing special planned though. I did Disc 28A - Back/Chest last night and hope to get in SJP - cardio only premix later on tonight with some ab work.
We went to a fall fair yesterday. DS had a good time on the rides. We brought home lots of little stuffed animals and a huge blow-up hammer that he just loves.
Laurie - I like the weight portion of that Ab w/o but never even attemped much of the plate portion:eek: Eh, hope that tooth doesn't turn out to be too bothersome. Good for the race team! Does the BF goes to the same school as BF?
Waving hi to Kim
Well I survived the way about too much money ($590) but got some clothes, kitchen items and about half the Christmas shopping done. Also spent way too much money in American girl:confused::confused:
Patricia Congrats on the 7 years! We're coming up to our 19th wedding anniversary. We married young;)
Laurie Congrats to your dd on her race! Her BF sounds nice! That's great that he was so relaxed around you and your DH. I almost bought Jillian's dvd (30 day shred) in the USA but decided that I still have Insanity and Cathe's new cardio coming that I didn't need it!
I'm not working out today as I'm so tired. Will get started on week 8 of CLX tomorrow.
DS is trying our for AA hockey (the most competitive level). He has made it to round 3 out of 4. After each round (which is 4-5 sessions on the ice) there are cuts made. So he has 'survived" two cuts so far. We were informed yesterday that if he makes it, registration is $2000 and that a 5 day a week commitment is expected. :confused::confused::confused:They told the parents in case anyone wanted to withdraw before the next round. Each round cost $40-50. :confused:
Luckily, his chance to play at this level, is a longshot. I think if he could of tried out last year instead of being in a cast then he could have made.
Morning Ladies,
Today was PlyoX, and will have to get the Ab Circuit Yoga based abs after work. Just didn't have enough time last night to get it done. Disc 4 is done, and again I enjoyed the workout. I have heard comments that these are similar to her previous workouts. So far I don't see it. :) Maybe that comes in the other Meso's!
Patricia, Congrats on the 7 years of marriage. Sounds like the fair was a fun time. Tooth is much better today, and I will get my butt into the dentist soon. It is one of those that has to much of a gap, and sometimes food gets stuck even though I am flossing the heck out of it. :rolleyes: Yep the BF is in the same grade and school.
Kim, Glad you had a good time shopping, and I can understand spending all that money in American Girl. :D I'm still contemplating Insanity, and wondering if my DD's would work out with me. This type of training would be good for their running I would think. WOW! That is a lot of money. Does that include the equipment?
Have a great day!
Good Afternoon Coolers
After DS's skating lesson last night and managed to get in SJP - step and hi/lo cardio only, along with STS Circuit ABs - weights only portion (I was thinking of you Laurie:p). Tonight is Plyo Legs for me:eek: Hope I survive.
I'm about 1/2 way thru watching Season 3 of Heros. S4 started last night so I DVR'd it.
Kim - you'll be proud of me. Booked our flights for Florida in Feb. today. Have you flown Sun Wing b/4? Friends who are sharing the last week of our vacation will be on the same return flight and they recommended Sun Wing. I just found some clothes I had bought DS in Florida last Feb and forgot about. Have him wearing them now before he grows out of them. Something to be said for not stocking up too far in advance on the clothes:rolleyes: Hope you're all rested up from spending $$$. I'm trying to lean DS towards baseball or soccer, much cheaper on the pocket book! DH wants him in hockey and go-cart racing - ouch on the pocket book. Will DS have to wear a suit & tie to the games at that level? Good luck to him on his next round.
Laurie - Yep, STS is like nothing I've seen before. How is the DOMS? I wonder how much Insanity compares to the Plyo w/os in STS since its suppose to help you with power & speed? Has DS tried the Plyo yet?
Well I got back into the exercise routine with Push Circuit #1. After 5 days off it was hard to get back into things.
Patricia Are you becoming a mousejunkie;) (disney addict). Florida again! I've never flown with Sunwing before. I usually book with Airmiles points so it has to be Westjet, AC or Northwest. I don't know about the suit and tie but that happens soon but maybe just for tournament?
Laurie Nope that doesn't include equipment and goalie equipment is expensive. Is your dd doing STS with you as planned? DS is very tired with crosscountry and hockey. Tomorrow is a crosscountry meet and then 2 hrs of hockey.
Kim
Well, completed Disc 29-plyo. I liked this one better than last weeks plyo. Used more of the step. Still couldn't complete the last 3 or 4 drills though. Made a new recipe today with the crock pot. So easy. Chicken with rice and salsa and black beans. Love finding delicious and easy recipes:)
Kim - Not a mouse junkey, Daytona junkie:p We rent a condo from a co-worker so makes for a "somewhat" cheaper vacation. All I care about is going somewhere warm and having something for DS to do. I want to go on a cruise at some point though.
Morning Ladies,
Well since I'm headed out with my friends after work, I got in a little cardio this morning. So a 25 min. run and the Yoga based abs are done. If I feel like getting in Disc 5, then it will be after I get home. Of course I don't know how I will feel after a beer. Will see.
Yesterday Cami and I got caught in a downpour. I walked into the house and the girls started to laugh. :eek: :D I was happy that I managed to keep my underwear dry, but I think my shoes are still wet! :rolleyes:
Patricia, So the plyo work incorporates the step? I hope it is just for jumping up onto! :rolleyes: The DOMS are managable, and I'm somewhat surprised that I'm not feeling worse. I'm going to failure on the weight exercises, so I know I'm using the right weights. Maybe I'm finally getting the nutrition/exercise combo down so I don't experience the soreness as much. Sounds like a good recipe, and do share. I like using my crock pot. ;)
Kim, I knew that hockey was expensive, but didn't realize how much it was for the elite players. WOW! No my DD isn't doing STS, because she seems to be swamped with homework every night. But we will see how things go at the beginning of the year, maybe I will have Insanity! How much longer are you doing CLX, and are you enjoying this rotation?
Have a great day!
Patricia, could you share that recipe?? That sounds like something we would enjoy:p and I love coming home to something I put in the crockpot.
Laurie, hope you're alll dried out! Enjoy your night out! A girl's night out is so much fun:D I'm on week 8 out of 12. CLX has been good. I don't think there is enough variety to do the routine again unless you buy the extra dvds. They are good solid workouts and a nice length.
Good Thurs. Morning Coolers
Well, last night I was 1/2 way thru Disc 30 - Bi/Tri/Sh and realized I was suppose to be doing 4DS Kickbox cardio. Oh, well, I guess I'm doing cardio for the next 2 nights:D I'm busy cathing up on S3 of Heros and hope to finish by this weekend so I can watch the 2hr season premier I DVR'd last Monday.
My kitchen sink was plugged last night so I used Drano and it wasn't helping until DH asked about using the plunger on it. Well duh, hadn't even thought of that and voila unplugged. Sometimes its good to have a man around the house:D
Laurie - pls tell me you didn't attempt STS after a beer or two:eek: Ugg, on getting soaked. For this weeks plyo the step was used more for jumping on / over / off and for lunges, leg presses. No choreography you will be happy to hear I'm sure:p
Kim - did you see that there are more CLX w/os, however, BB is selling them as part of a package of the Deluxe disc #7 that I already have. Lots of confusion and anger over this on the VJ board.
Off to find the link for the crock pot recipe. It came from sparks people.
http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=140584
Here is the link for the Slow Cooker Black Bean Chicken recipe
I only had one can of black beans and did not drain. I think next time I will drain and add extra water as for 10hrs the sides started to get burn't.
It was great to put the chicken in frozen, the rice uncooked. Couldn't ask for much easier. I used 6 frozen chicken breasts - don't know how much 1lb is in relation but figured that if the recipe yields 6 then that should be enough. It came out like a casserole, the chicken all flaky and needed a spoon to serve. Yum Yum.
Now, to get DS to like it:(
Morning Ladies,
Today was KenpoX, and Patricia you will be happy to hear I didn't have any motivation to attempt Disc 5. :D So when I get home from work I will get that workout in. ;)
I had a great time with my friends last night, but I think we need to find a new place to hang. It seemed to me that we where getting pushed out, before we where actually finished. :mad:
Kim, So after CLX is done will you be trying out Insanity? I'm seriously thinking of getting it for after this STS rotation. ;) I know how just doing the Jillian and Cindy Whitmarsh circuit workouts helped with my cardio endurance.
Patricia, Thanks for the link, and I will be trying that one for sure. The plunger is my first tool that I use when the sink is plugged. If that doesn't work, then I get the DH working on the clogg! :D Whew, I'm so glad that the plyo has no choro! I'm such a clutz, and that is why I think I enjoy the more athletic type workout. I really enjoy watching Hero's, and of course the twist is still alive and active in the 2hr premier. :)
Have a great day!
I'm tired so a short post for me. Had to go to a course today, all staff have to go to an update on proper techniques to transfer/lift patients:rolleyes: Doesn't matter if you work in outpatient hand therapy and so NEVER lift patients. Everyone in the hospital has to do a 8 hour review. At least it's done now.
Did CLX and watched Survivor. There are some annoying personalities on this seasons episodes!
Patricia, ds was required to dress in a shirt and tie for today's exhibition game. Kind of silly but he was cute!
Laurie I'm going to do Insanity as soon as I'm done CLX so another 4 weeks. I figure I'll have a good break when we go to Disney so I won't take time off in between.
