~~~~Coolers in September~~~
Hey Laurie - have you ever tried juicing? I love the combination this time of year with the Concord Grapes (Welches grape juice grapes) with apple and carrot. Yum Yum. I'm bring the juicer out of storage tonight I think as I stocked up on grapes last night at the grocery store.:)
Morning All,
More 1RM's where what I did as a workout this morning. I'm planning on getting some more in after work. Youngest DD has decided that she is going to join the cross country team, so she will have to be picked up after school too. :D Her gym teacher convinced her to join, because she is going out for track in the spring.
Patricia, No I have not done the juice thing, I do not own a juicer. Sounds like it might be pretty tasty! :D
Afternoon All
Boy, am I tired. Well, I'm paying for staying up to 3am to finish readying a book:eek: I have an hair appt tonight but will try to get my cardio in afterwards (fingers x'd)
Laurie - way to keep at the 1rms. They are so worth it.
Well, I happy I got my w/o completed and without pausing. :D
Did LIC - timesaver cardio and STS yoga abs. Thats the 1st time I did the yoga ab and it was quite enjoyable. I really like the slower pace instead of the frantic how many reps can we get in in 5mins!
Off to bed.
Morning All,
Today was more 1RM's, and I should be finished with them by tomorrow. Will have to get up early tomorrow, but I don't have to get on a dress and walk around. We will be going to oldest DD's cross country meet.
Patricia, Sometimes good books are just hard to put down. You always say to yourself one more chapter. :D I'm glad to know doing all those 1RM's are worth the effort. ;)
Have a great day!
Well, today was DS's 1st morning at JK. The drop-off went very well. There was one other boy who goes to pre-school with DS, so a friendly face. Ran into some other kids and Moms from our neighbourhood too. I picked him up at 11:30 and he was so happy and excited but very clingy when I dropped him at his pre-school for the rest of the day. I have to remember to get him a backpack this weekend as the one I have I can tell will be too small to hold his 2 nutrition breaks and with whatever crafts and notes he will be sent home with.
I have Disc 27 - bi/tri/sh on tap tonight.
Hope everyone is having a FAB day.
I'm half finished CLX:D:D I'm doing all the workouts pretty much according to plan but starting to substitute Stretch Max instead of Recharge. I found Recharge kind of boring, not a lot of variety in it.
I was looking at the calendar (because I'm a bit obsessive;)) and this is what I'm thinking
6 more weeks of CLX
Recovery week
4 weeks of Insanity
1 and half weeks at Disney:D:D:D:D
4 weeks of Insanity
Christmas holidays!
Then STS with the new cardio (hopefully it's here by then), I'm not sure if I'll do another 6 month rotation or 3 month.
Laurie, are you doing a 3 or 6 month rotation of STS?? My ds joined the crosscountry team as well. School started Wednesday and they had practice before class on Thurs and Friday.
Patricia Glad to hear JK went so well! The whole lunchbag/snacks is such a headache when they're young and have to take stuff to school and daycare. Shoes are also a nuisance, they need indoors runners at both places and at home. Then halfway through the year they outgrow them and you need to buy 3 more pairs:rolleyes: It gets much easier. This year ds is in the same school as dd but since he's grade 7 he's in junior highschool so the lunch hours are different. So he can't walk her home on my days off (Fridays):(
I got lots of errands accomplished today with the kids back in school. I love my Fridays off work.:D
Just completed Disc 27 - it seemed long but a good w/o. I thought about doing PowerMax since it's in the rotation for tomorrow and we're going to the cottage, even turned the DVD on then said "to heck with it". Its been a long week!
Kim - So you did get Insanity. No thanks. Probably a good rotation for getting ready for your vacation. Don't forget the spare set of clothes you have to keep at both places. I have to find 2 pair that I don't care if he never wears:rolleyes: I have to look for a couple pair of track pants.
Off to pack for the weekend.
"See" you Sunday.
Went for a nice easy 3 mile run with my friend this morning. I wanted to keep it short and slow to see how my foot with the PF did. So far, so good, I can just feel it a little bit. On to week 7 of CLX tomorrow.
Not much happening here, my boys are busy with hockey and errands but dd and I don't have much to do. DH's couin's wedding social is this evening so we might get to that and tomorrow is a football game.
Okay, the pf is really bothering me:( I guess I should give up the running until spring but I sure the time with my friends.
Picked up the book "The End of Overeating" the threads that Sandra started got me interested. I'll let you know what I think.
Laurie, how did the crosscountry meet go?
My ds has hockey tryouts SUnday, Monday and Tuesday. Should be interesting to see how he does, he used to be very competitive but he lost a whole season due to the broken leg.
Evening Coolers
Completed Disc 25B - Back & Chest. Had DH help me lift the BB and even DS came in and mimicked my moves. A whole family affair!:D
We had a great weekend at the cottage. Took DS out in the kayak and he did most of the paddling. He was actually doing a pretty good job.
Well, 1st real day of JK for DS tomorrow. New napsack, lunch box all ready to go, properly labelled. Even had DS help me pick what he wanted to eat for his 2 nutrition breaks. DS also has his 1st skating lesson tomorrow night, so a busy night. Trying to figure where to fit dinner in:confused:
Kim - How much are you icing your feet? Isn't it a drag when an injury hampers your fitness? I agree with you about maybe not doing a 6.5 mo rotation for STS. I'm with you for the 3.5 once STS Cardio comes out. Sounds like I'll get my tower in a few weeks so perfect timing to complete M3. I saw that book in the store after reading Sandra's thread, but thought, I'd never follow it. I have a sweet tooth and need someone to help me get over that.:( How did try-outs go?
Good luck to ds on the first day of JK! And then skating lessons what an exciting day! DS's tryouts are Sun/Mon/Tues so no results yet. DH thinks he has an offside chance, there are 2 goalies trying out for 5 spots. This is the AA team then there is A1, A2 and A3.
Went to the football game yesterday where our Blue Bombers lost 55 to 10:rolleyes::rolleyes: against our chief rivals the Roughriders (the same team as last week ) As according to tradition we always play there for the Labour Day Classic and then the Banjo Bowl is here the week after. I think there were more of their fans at the game then ours. A young girl flashed our section and the policeman quickly removed her. Thank goodness, ds was watching the play at the other end of the field. Made me miss our only field goal:mad:
Morning All,
Well Disc 1 is finished, and I will get in the ab workout after work. My arms feel like noodles right now, so that must be a good sign. :) I didn't do anything all weekend, but I did get some much need cleaning done. Sunday I had a sinus headache after I got home from church, so I took some meds and layed on the couch. Felt much better after a nap. :)
Patricia, It does get better as they get older, so that is something to look forward too. School will become routine for you and your DS. :) Hope his first official day of school is a good one.
Kim, Good for your DS on joining in cross country, I'm sure he will have fun with that. Oldest DD didn't do very well in her race again, she felt really good at the beginning and was keeping her time. Second half was not that good. She is having to deal with her body changing, I'm thinking that she has hit that milestone. I have noticed she is not looking like a walking stick anymore. :eek: Glad it has hit at the beginning of the season, so that she has a chance to deal with the changes. I will be doing the three month rotation. You are one crazy lady to try Insanity, but then you might get me to try it. :eek: I can't help myself from reading the posts about it. :rolleyes:
Have a great day!
Just completed 4DS - boot camp cardio only, along with STS - med ball. Tomorrow is plyo legs. I wonder if Cathe is trying to kill us by putting 2 such intense w/os back-to back as last week was Drill Max b/4 plyo.
DS made it thru his 1st day of JK, bus ride and all. He is scared of the bus ride but I'm sure as he makes friends it will get better. He is just not used to being around bigger kids who aren't looking out for him I think. He also had his 1st skating lesson tonight too, so a pretty full day for him.
Off to an early bed.
Morning All,
Todays workout was JM's BFBM, this was a sub for Imax2. :eek: I was a little sore this morning, but Jillian took care of all that. :D
Patricia, Of course Cathe is trying to kill you! LOL! :D I think all those young kids go through the big kids on the bus. You are right, it will get better once he has someone he knows. My sisters DD had a boyscout that is watching out of her. His mother told him that he needed to look out for the younger kids, because he was a boyscout. :) How did the skate lesson go?
So Laurie, you're thinking of Insanity?? Was STS worth the wait?
How did the skating lesson go? Soon, you (or your DH) can spend everynight at the hockey rink. DH and ds have been at hockey the last 4 days, the season has started:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Morning All,
No workout for me yet, I had to get to work early to help out at the health fair. I was like one of three volunteers that was there this morning. :rolleyes: I had fun encouraging people to take the Activia and Danactive samples. :D Funny how the strawberry was more popular than the peach. I actually like peach. After I get home from work I will get in Disc 2 Back & Triceps.
Kim, I like the concept of Insanity, the no equipment part. And now that I have been reading about it, I'm more interested. It really is a go at your own pace type thing. I read that one person upped their run times from 8 min to around 6 min in only two months. Now that is a great improvement in endurance. ;) Maybe I shouldn't read those things. :eek: :D To early for me to tell if STS was worth the wait. So far I like not having to decide what weight to use. ;)
Have a great day!
Laurie - you must have been channeling me as I didn't w/o yesterday. Went out for a girls dinner on the company dime instead:) I thought about getting up early to do plyo legs but that didn't happen. Thought about doing it when I got home but after 2 glasses of wine and coffee w/baileys that wasn't happening either. Can you tell I was avoiding Plyo Legs:p
Anyhow, I did Plyo legs tonight and skipped the last 4 drills. All I'll say is it's a HECK of a lot easier at 7:30pm then at 5:00am. Tough but not "puke in the bucket" like last week! I was really dreading it tonight.
Laurie - I'm sold on knowing the amount of weights to use. I think for all of my other Cathe w/o's I'm going to start printing w/o cards. I think I have an exel spreadsheet that has all the excercises listed for every workout.
Kim - lessons went well. He "froze" getting onto the ice but once he got out he started to feel more comfortable. DS is signed up for hockey too, which is 2x a week so we will be in the rink 3x / week. Should I invest in thermal underwear??? How is the PF now?
Take care,
Oh, oh Laurie, once you start reading the threads, you know you're going to buy it! You might as well give in. Maybe a Christmas present?
