~~~~~~ Coolers in October ~~~~
Morning Ladies,
Busy weekend for me with running DD's all over for birthday parties, and homecoming events. :rolleyes: Friday was Disc 12 Legs, so I am on recovery week. Saturday I got in 4DS Kickboxing, Quick Cardio Fix(that Cathe had on her rotation), and the abs from 4DS KB. Sunday was my off day. ;)
Patricia, Oh I knew that one was American Pie. I never went to band camp, so I guess I'm in the clear! :D DD didn't do very well in her race, one girl on their team landed on her face in the mud. DD came home with mud all over herself. Good idea to adjust your weights, you don't want to strain your back.
Kim, I'm getting excited for you to start Insanity too. I will live through you, but I'm sure that I will be getting the set. I think it will be what my in-laws will give me for Christmas. They always give me money to by my present for myself. :D
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers
A nice relaxing one on this holiday TK.:D I just completed 4DS - LIS cardio only, then CM #2-stability abs. Feels good to have my w/o done and can enjoy the rest of the day.
DH wants to go to a movie. Something about Meatballs??? Sounds like it's good for a 4yr old.
Laurie - I like your in-laws thinking. My parents are the same way. They just give $$ and tell us to let them know what we bought:D:D Sorry about the race. Did you tell your DD though that some people pay a lot of $$ for a mud bath:p
Off to take a shower.
Back home from the cottage.We spent Sat. and Sun night there. Had 13 of us for Thansksgiving dinner last night and had leftovers today for lunch before leaving the lake. Now home for a couple of hours and then to MIL's for another turkey dinner:confused::confused: Just a little worried as ds was having asthma trouble at the lake and MIL's always cause him problems as there is cigarette smoke/dogs.
We had a ton of snow at the lake, 40 cm! We did get most of the winterizing stuff down. (also have a fridge full of food Patricia) but mom wants to go out one more weekend to do the water.
I was planning on starting week 11 of CLX today but not really enought time before MIL's dinner so if it's not to late when I get home or will start tomorrow.
Patricia Are you going start Action Hero (I forgot the whole name) right after STS??? I kind of doubt I would use the downloads as I only workout at home in front of the tv so really only need dvds.
Laurie Enjoy that recovery week! Meso 2 was my favourite so hopefully you'll really enjoy it!
Kim
Morning Ladies,
This morning was MTV Power Yoga with Kristin McGee, and my legs feel really worked this morning. ;)
Patricia, Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Did you go to the meatballs movie. I know my youngest wants to go see that one too. LOL on the mud bath.
Kim, Isn't that always the case on Thanksgiving, eating two big meals in one day. :eek: Dang on the snow, we didn't get any down our way. I am so surprised at how I am looking forward to these Meso workouts. Still wondering if I want the Shock Cardio. :confused:
Have a great day!
Laurie
CLX done and now off to watch TBL.
DS and I had to leave MIL's house yesterday after about 1/2 hr. DH and dd stayed for a visit with his family. His asthma is fine now. BUt he got so wheezy that he could hardly talk yesterday. He always has trouble at her house due to cigarettes/dogs. She tries so hard too. She had her carpet shampooed this week before we came over. She is a pediatric nurse and wanted me to take ds straight to the ER but I knew once we got home he would be much better. I'm just waiting for her to phone this evening to complain that I didn't take him to the hospital:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Wow, Lauire, you have quite the inventories of workouts videos. I've never heard of Kristin McGee. STS is nice in that it gives you options for cardio/recovery days so you can have a break from Cathe.
Disc 32B - plyo les DONE. Won't have any trouble getting to sleep tonight. I have to be up by 4:30am to catch a 6am flight down to the Big Smoke. Our Admin. Assistant's Mother passed away on the weekend (it was expected) so I'm flying down to the funeral. Works out well as I can attend in person a 2pm meeting in our office down there too. Home hopefully around 7pm on a return flight. Will see if I have any energy to get my cardio w/o in:confused:
Laurie - ahh, recovery week for you. Is it hard to not do weigths? We did go to see the movie, and DS even stayed for the whole movie, just a little scared. I'm sitting on the fence with the Shock Cardio too, but since I ordered it at the pre-sale price I figure might as well hang in there. I'm curious to see what all the MMA is all about and would love some newer step videos.
Kim - thanks for the snow you sent my way this a.m.:mad: Too bad on missing the 2nd meal (NOT I'm sure). Did DH come home with a care package though? You know your kids better and with all you've been with through with DS in the past I'm sure you know when to go to the hospital! 7 more STS w/os and I'm done! Yep, I'm going to start up AHB right after STS.
Morning Ladies,
This morning was 10 Minutes Solutions Knockout Body, and I must say it was pretty good. The kit came with 1 lb weighted gloves, and she does an excellent job with upper body work. I would like her to come out with a full length kicboxing workout. ;) May get in a run after work, and that should be it for today. :D
Kim, To bad about the visit to the MIL's house. My DVD inventory isn't too bad for Yoga. I just stick with the people that I click with. This morning I was looking at ExerciseTV on Demand, and found out that those Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader DVD's are not going to be in my inventory. :D
Patricia, Sorry that your travel plans include a funeral. :( MMA's are the ones I am most interested in also, so that is why I'm sitting on the fence with you. ;) I guess I just would like to see more on what the HIIT and MMA is like. If there is a lot of work on the step, I may not be able to do it. :(
Have a great day!
Evenin Coolers
A long day for me. Up since 4:30am and back home at 7pm. So just resting in bed as I can barely stay awake - so no w/o for me tonight. I have a 1/2hr massage appt tomorrow after work so going to attempt to get out of bed tomorrow a.m. to do Disc 33B - Sh/Bi/Tri.
Morning Ladies,
I didn't get the run in yesterday, because I had to help DD16 with her Geometry. Then I had to head out to the grocery store. But I did get the run in this morning, and followed it up with Basic Stretch from Total Body Streching. Still want to get in more stretching, so hopefully I will be able to get in StretchX after work. ;)
Patricia, Glad you are home safe. Sure is funny how you can be more tired from travelling than just doing your same routine. :D Have a great workout.
Talk to you both later,
Finished CLX (7 workouts left!) and watched X-Weighted. (do you ever watch this show Patricia??) It's a Canadian weight loss show and they are focusing on families this season. Sorry I wasn't around yesterday but had to go to a professional association meeting last night. Made for a long day as I left the house at 7 am and didn't get home till 9 pm.
Patrica Sorry to hear about the funeral you had to attend. A friend of mine that I went to university is in the hospital where I work. She was diagnosed with leukmia and had a week of chemo/radiation and will have a transplant tomorrow. SHe is very sick. She is my age with kids around the same age. Our class is university was only 26 people (25 girls/1boy) for 3 years so we got pretty close. It's just heartbreaking. It's hard knowing she's upstairs but we can't visit because she's in isolation.
Laurie So tell us more about the cheerleader's workout dvd??;) Do you still remember your high school geometry?? I was always good at math in school but was trying to help ds with some grade 7 math a few weeks ago and couldn't remember how to do it! I was a chemistry/math major in university before I switched to medical rehabilitation. I did lots of university calculus courses and now I can't do Grade 7 math:confused::confused:
Kim
Morning Ladies,
Today was PY4H Magical Hips, and those hips do feel pretty good. :eek: Tomorrow will be some type of kickboxing and a short run (outdoors I'm hoping), and Sunday will be either nothing or a yoga/stretch.
Kim, Almost done with CLX, and then on to Insanity! :D Someone mentioned RevAbs on another thread, and those don't look to bad either. :confused: They look like a Jillian workout on crack! :eek: The cheerleader workout would probably have been pretty good, because I like the instructor. But the workout is only weights, I was thinking it was weights and cardio. It is only 30 min. I'm waiting for Jay Johnson's 9 week bootcamp series. Looks more serious to me. :) The problem was actually easy, it was a pattern. 100, -50, 25, -12.5, .... At first I was totally confused, and DD was just frustrated with it. Then that light bulb hit me.
Have a great day!
Morning Ladies,
Sunny but cold day for us today, but I will take it after all the rain we have been having. :D This morning was Powerstrikes and a short run. Tomorrow I think I will get in some yoga.
Have to take youngest DD to her first dance class in about an hour, so I need to hop in the shower.
Have a great weekend,
Only one week left of CLX! Starting week 12 tomorrow!
Enjoy that sun Laurie!
I've been dreading this weekend all week. It's just one of those super busy weekends.
Last night was supper out with friends which was fun!
Today was CLX, errands/groceries and hair appt. Then went to DH's cousin's wedding ceremony. Now a quick coffee break. We came home and changed clothes and DH took ds to hockey and I'm going to piano lessons with dd. Then we'll met back at home get dressed up (again) and then to the wedding reception. ;) Mostly fun things but too many to really enjoy any of them.
The wedding ceremony was beautiful except the bride/bridesmaids were 1/2 hr late arriving as their limo broke down. Then one of the bridesmaids fainted leaving the church. Hopefully the rest of the day goes well for them.
This morning at the mall we saw the most terrible accident. In the mall parking lot a lady backed into another parked car (no one inside thank goodness) so hard that the rear wheels of her car went up onto the roof of the parked car. :confused::confused: Then she had to drive off it. The kids and I were just getting out of the car and few cars down and we couldn't believe it. The driver and her passenger seemed fine they got out and walked around after. I thought we should stay to be witnesses but we had so much to do and there seemed to be lots of people around.
Strange day.
Off to piano. Kim
Evening Coolers
Sorry, have not been around. When I take a few days off from my w/os I usually feel too guilty to post:eek: I did manage to finish up Disc 32B Friday though - just not a lot of cardio last week thats for sure and my body misses it.
I had to take DS to hockey practice Sat. and we showed up 1/2hr early as I got the time mixed up:eek: So at the rink for 7am and didn't need to be there until 7:30am. I'm sure I looked like a dork with my pink toque on underneath DH's hockey helmet. I was the only woman on the ice along with figure skates:confused: I was getting a bit cold as you don't move around much when just helping your kid out. It was a beautiful sunny weekend here so got some yard work done and cleaned up my side of the garage to get ready for parking in it. Yesterday and today we went hiking at a water fall near her so my legs got some extra work this weekend!
DH went with a group of guys to Montreal for a hockey game so it was just the 2 of us from Fri. to Sun.
I'm on my final 2 weeks of STS - YEAH. Did Disc 33A - Back/Chest today. I lightened the load for my back on dead lifts a BB pulls as it has been feelin twingy lately. Don't need to get this far in the program and then have my back "go".
Laurie - I guess your rest week is almost over - have fun with M2. LOL about the math. I re-took a business math course a few years ago. Apparently I took it in college but I certainly didn't remember any of it as it was like learning it for the 1st time:p I'm looking forward to helping DS with some of his homework just to re-learn things that I've forgotten. The other day I couldn't remember if Saskatchen was between Manitoba and Alberta or BC and Alberta - pathetic! Jackie Warner has a new DVD coming out I think in Dec. Did you get her 1st won? There are lots of comparisons between it and 30 Day Shred. Not interested in Rev Abs at all. So far I've missed that and the Insanity bandwagon:D
Kim - yep, I watch X-weighted if I'm surfing and see it on. It was a good one this week - a single mom with a teenager with cerebral palsay and an 8 yr (old I think) - amazing that with a handicapped person in the house she could still find the time to w/o and get her life on track - she was very inspirational. I saw the family one this week too! It was great to see them making it a commitmment in the household. It hard when not everyone else wants to eat right and you end up makin 2 different meals and "fitting" in your w/o and taking time away from family time. I watch Last 10 Pounds sometimes too. Sounds like the wedding has been more stressful on a Bridesmaid then the Bride:eek: Hopefully their day will go better. Yikes on seeing the accident. How fast were they going to run right up the car. Gee, hope your friend comes through okay. It does put things into perspective when you see someone your own age or younger fighting for their life. Was it sudden? I know you're starting Insantiy after CLX. Do you have it already?
Morning Ladies,
Yesterday was a lazy day for me, so I really didn't do anything but clean up the kitchen. This morning was Disc 13 Chest, Shoulders, Triceps. Will get in a short run after work.
Kim, What a crazy busy weekend you had, so I'm guessing that you don't get a break at all this week. :D
Patricia, Dang on getting to the rink to early. I didn't get the first Jackie Warner workout, but might get the second one. I don't think she uses her trainers on this one. I think that is the part i didn't care for, they just didn't seem to want to be there. Jillian also has a workout coming, it is a Biggest Loser one, and sounds just like her 30 day shred. It also has 3 15 min. weight segments. So I'm going to be getting that one for sure. :D
Have a great day!
Laurie
Evening Coolers
I'm sooo excited as my new Action Hero Babe System (AHB) arrived in the mail today. I had an hr to myself right after work and it was pretty hard for me to go do my w/o (Rhythmic Step) instead of sit down and start previewing the workouts. Anyhow, I've been watching the 1st 3 DVDs in the system and they look like a lot of fun. Around 40-50min long I thing. I'm really looking forward to trying them out after STS in 2 weeks.:)
Laurie - I think I've heard the Jackie's new w/o might include kettlebells. One of the AHB discs uses them too. Hmm, might be a good reason to finally go out and buy some. I might be interested in Jackie's w/o too.
Kim - hope you've recovered from your active weekend.
Morning Ladies,
This morning was Kenpo Cardio+, and since that really didn't get my HR up I decided to add on the KM Cardio Challenge. :eek: After work I still need to get in the Ab Circuit Weights & Plates.
Patricia, Well if that Jackie workout has kettlebells then I probably will not be getting it. I just don't need more exercise equipment. :D Hope your AHB purchase is a good one, so far it sounds like you are ready to go. ;)
Kim, Hope you are doing well.
Have a great day!
Got CLX done. Only 2 workouts left.:D:D
Patricia I know what you mean about new workouts. It's hard to do an old one with a new one has arrived. The reviews on AHB haven't been that great so far so will be interested to see what you think.
Laurie What do you think about the second mesocycle?? The legs one are interesting with all trisets.
Off to watch TBL.
Evening Coolers
Just finished up Disc 35 - Plyo legs - well the 1st 35min or so. Just no gas in the engine today. I didn't eat much for lunch and it's catching up with me, well that and I just DREAD these Plyo w/os. Week 4 and 1 are the most similar. I prefer weeks 2 & 3. I might sub in B&Gs next week (Is that okay Kim - I know you're a stickler :D:p)
I'm starting to get really excited. Tomorrow I'm suppose to go on a helicopter rider. I won it at a silent auction for United Way. So as long as the weather holds out (fingers x-d) think of me up in the sky flying over my house at noon hour!
Kim - after STS I think I've learned better how to pick my weights so I think after doing each of the AHB w/os 1x I'll be able to gage better if I should follow Valerie's weight guidelines or not. I'm trying to lose those last 10#s and wondering if the higher intensity of Cathe's is working against me.
Waving hi to Laurie
