~~~Coolers in November~~~
I posted some new pictures in an album titled Fall 2009. A couple of family pics from the wedding we were at over Labour Day weekend and a couple of the kids in the costume last night.
CONGRATS Patricia, on finishing STS!!
Happy November Coolers
I guess it's now, Bring on the Winter.
Great pics Kim - looks like you had decent weather for Halloween?
DS was in his Darth Vader Costume all of 30min. I think. It was a little drizzly and WINDY. We went to about 15 houses then he had had enough, which I was okay with. He had more fun handing out candy at the door with his Grandparents:) Thankfully, he also didn't like a lot of the candy he got so I was able to give it away to others. I always shake my head at the cans of pop that given out. Just think of the weight to the poor kids sacks!
I started my AHB rotation today. Build 1 - 10-12 reps. She goes a bit fast for the weight but since the w/o is only 50 min it's easy to pause it when I need more time. She suggests a total of 30# for squats, well I'm using 22.5# each hand:rolleyes:
Hope everyone didn't over indulge this weekend. It will be the temptaton at work as people bring in the leftovers and leave in the lunch room:eek:
Morning Ladies,
Can't believe that it there are only two more months left of this year. Where did the time go. This morning was Disc 19 Chest, Shoulders, Triceps and I'm hoping to get in a run after work. I did get a run in on Saturday, it was cold but not raining. It was a good run though. DH and I went to a party on Saturday night, had a good time with a small group of people.
Kim, Will have to take a peek at the pics. My DD's are to "old" to go trick-or-treating. My youngest was handing out candy, and I hear a lot of "Hi Kim". I think she had more fun seeing all her classmates costumes. :D
Patricia, Congrats on finishing up STS. I really have been enjoying this 3-1/2 month rotation. Don't know how I would feel doing these workouts for longer. ;) Have a good time with the AHB rotation.
Have a great day!
I've shaken my head at those cans of pop as well. Makes the bag way too heavy for the little ones to carry.
Just finished up the first week of Insanity. DH has been doing most of the workouts with me and he is really enjoying them. He's a runner so I can see the appeal. Very low choreography (burpees, jumping jacks, push ups , running in place for 40 mins) and intense cardio.
It is bothering my plantar fascitis a bit so doing all the right things and will finish the week then reassess.
Laurie, time to get Christmas shoppping Laurie;)
Evening Coolers
Really busy day for me. DS started getting a cold over the weekend and last night got a fever, so I've been home with him today. It's year-end and the worst time for me to be off work. DH isn't home until late tomorrow either. My boss brought work over for me and the Admin. Assist. came over in the afternoon for a couple hours to watch DS so I could get to work. Great that a lot of what I needed could be done remotely at home though! Got most of my work done so should be a less stressful day tomorrow.
Usually when I'm home with DS I can get my w/o in during the day, but not today! I did BM2 - cardio timesaver premix this evening.
Kim - I was going to ask about your PF as I imagine Insanity wouldn't be the most gentle w/o for that! I have such a hard time deciding what to buy people. No issue in going out to get it though. I KNOW you have most of yours done! Grr.
Laurie - Hey, I guess you're at the 1/2 way point of STS. So did you dress up for the party on Sat or do you get enough of that all summer long?:)
Morning Ladies,
This morning was BFBM. Didn't get a run in last night, so I'm hoping that I can get one in today after work. I had to stop at Office Max to get oldest DD a new planner, because some of her friends colored in all the November blocks in her current one! She is a little ADD about her planner! :D She really needs it to keep her on track. And then I got caught in a traffic nighmare. I didn't get home until 5:30, and then had to get oldest DD to her driving class.
Kim, I will be ordering Insanity as soon as my MIL gives me my Christmas present. I have the money she gave me for my B'day, so I think that will probably be enough to get the DVD's. The workouts sound exactly what I'm looking for in a workout. I did Bootcamp premix #1 the other day, and those Terminators where not as hard as I remember. :D Glad your DH is enjoying them. I was hoping that one or both of my DD's would join me with these workouts, because I think it would help their running time alot.
Patricia, That was great that you could work from home. Sorry to hear that your DS is sick though. :( I just realized that I was half way through STS yesterday, it seems to be going really fast. ;) Yes I did wear a costume, but I went in a Star Trek dress. My oldest DD did my hair and makeup, and it sure did look MOD! :eek:
Have a great day!
Laurie - I'm reading about your visit to Office Max and had to 1st think if that was a reference to Cathe or not! We don't have an OM up here! I almost bought DS a custome from Star Trek but then decided on Darth Vader instead. I was just thinking that I'll need to p/u a new calendar to fit in my purse. Jan really isn't too far away:eek:
I did AHB - Burn 1 today and followed it with TJ- Kick Punch and Jam. Oh the benefits of working at home and having extra time for more workouts!.
Off to put DS in bed.
Morning Ladies,
Disc 20 Legs is done, and I did manage to get in a run after work.
Patricia, LOL :D :D Wonder what type of workout Cathe could make for the office! :D :D I should have gotten myself a planner for my purse when I was there, and I had one in my hand. I will regret not getting it when I get to the end of December! :eek: I will have a day off next week, and I'm planning on doing and extra workout too. :D
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
I guess I'm having a Chalene week this week. I did CLX - Fat Blaster Challenge for my cardio tonight - boy I forgot what a leg workout it is.
Kim - I'm wathcing Dragons' Den on CBC. Do you watch it?
Laurie - I see the states made their own show of Dragons' Den this year called Shark Tank. Have you seen it?
It's about inventors/entrepreneurs who come before a panel of investors and try to sell their idea to them to get them to invest in their company. It's really quite entertaining.
Morning Coolers,
My workout was KM's 30MTF Kickboxing #1 with weighted gloves and Ab Circuit Stability Ball. I'm thinking that one legged pikes on the ball are never going to be something that I will be able to do. :eek:
Patrica, I have seen that show advertised, but have never watched it. Is that CLX workout plyo? That will usually get those legs pretty good. :D
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Woke up to wet wet SNOW this morning:eek: I live at the top of a hill and as I drove down it, it more like rain. I was expecting it to have melted by the time I got home from work, but ITS STILL OUT THERE:eek: I guess I have to hurry up and make that appt to change my winter tires on sooner rather than later:confused:
I did AHB - Sculpt 1 today. Valeried does unweighted/unresisted Y's and T's. After doing them with Cathe in STS I just had to add the band though!
Laurie - hey, Valerie's got me doing all the gliding ab work that I was too scared to do with Cathe. I'm sure you'll perfect the pikes oneday! FBC is sort of a plyo workout. She alternates between leg drills and cardio drills but with no weight used at all. I really like how Chalene incorporates the band around the legs for a lot of the work. ie. firewalkers and side to side lunges. I think its less impact than Cathe.
Off to watch Survivor that I DVR'd just now.
Our computer monitor died so we have been without a computer the last few days. Will catch up over the weekend.
Morning Coolers,
Disc 21 Back & Biceps is done, and would like to get in a run/strech after work. Youngest is going to see Stomp tonight, and oldest will be babysitting tomorrow. So we are down to one child/night. Never know with my oldest though, she may have plans for tonight. :rolleyes:
Patricia, The ab work with the glides/plates really makes your abs work. I'm sure not ready for the snow, but I do have my boots and coat out. :( Use those when it is raining out. I've only got one more week of Meso 2, and then I'm on to Meso 3 and the plyo work. Good thing I'm only doing the 3-1/2 month rotation. :D Don't know if I would want more hi-impact plyo work. :D
Kim, Sorry to hear about the monitor. Hate when things like that happen.
Have a great day!
Okay, back on online. I'm sticking with Insanity and DH has been doing it most days with me. My PF is bothering me a little, but I'm keeping it in check. Maybe without Insanity it would be totally gone but it's not bad enough to make me stop the workouts.
Patricia How's your little guy feeling?? I have watched Dragon's Den occasionally, ds thought it was quite entertaining. So was AHB a good buy? How come you're dong CLX workouts instead of AHB?? No snow here! It was +13 here yesterday! And Sunny!!
Laurie Insanity seems like something you would like. Shaun T has a very nice manner about him and the workouts are well organized. It'll be interesting to see what you think.
Kim
Good Sunday Morning Coolers
Just relaxing here with my 2nd cup of java of the day. It's nice not to have to be up and rushing somewhere for a change + its another beautiful and sunny day. I'm thinking I should hang the Xmas lights today while the weather holds!
Fri. I did Imax2 - blast 6-10 only and Sat. was my rest day. I will need to get in AHB-Build#1 in later today.
I went to 2 Xmas craft shows yesterday with some other ladies from work. Spent $$$ mainly on myself! I found a wonderful piece of artwork to fit over the bare space above our couch. Now to get DH to hang it:confused:
Kim - glad to see your computer problems are fixed (I hope!). AHB only has 3 discs / week for total body circuit training. You get to do your own cardio the rest of the week. That PF just won't completely go away for me either. What kind of shoes do you have for your trip as I'm sure you will be doing a lot of walking. I find when my PF acts up walking (even in running shoes) hurts after awhile.:( DS is much better, just a little bit of a cough now. Thankfully it was just a nasty cold and not the flu!
Laurie - so did you end up being childless for the weekend at all? We rented a good date movie last night - The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds (He is HOT HOT HOT). A cute movie that had me laughing. I'm really looking forward to your impression on the Plyo w/os.
Off to get another cup of java (just because I'm feeling lazy and don't want to have to do any work yet today!)
Sounds like a nice relaxing morning, Patricia. We got the Christmas lights up yesterday bought some nice ones for the flower bed. It's a string of 5 lollipops that light up in a moving pattern.
I've been thinking about all the walking at Disney. I bought some Clark sandals in Minneapolis that I wore around the Mall of America all day and they fit well. Also got my new New Balance cross trainers so hopefully should be good. Only 3 more weeks:D:D:D
What kind of picture did you buy?
Morning Coolers,
This morning was Disc 22 Chest, Shoulders, Triceps. Since this was only a 43 min. workout I had enough time to get in a short run on the TM. So my workout is done for the day! :eek: Saturday I did Billy's Bootcamp Basic Training, and a run outdoors (beautiful day). The Bootcamp workout used the Billy Bands, but I just put on a pair of 1# gloves, and that made it a good workout. Probably something that I would do on a light day.
Kim, Yep Insanities, basic type workouts are what I'm going with these days. It has to be that two left feet thing. I'm going to wait until after Christmas to get them though. Those Chrismas lights sound cute. We have to wait until after Thanksgiving to set our stuff up. :D
Patricia, I want to see that movie too, it looked funny in the trailers. I think that the girls have most of Sandra's movies. :D No we where not childless at all this weekend, but running around was down to a minimum. :D Glad to hear that your DS only had a cold.
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Sun. I did get Build#1 in then went outside and hung the Xmas lights (must have been on the same wave length as Kim:D) If DH was at home I would have left DS with him and gone for a long walk, it was SOOO beautiful out. Oh well, it just feels good to have the Xmas lights up b/4 the cold comes.
Tonight I did CIA - Step Surge. It's only the 2nd time I've done it and a bit complicated so don't feel like I got a great w/o as I stood just watching lots trying to figure out what to do with my feet:eek: Got to remember to do that one again on a night I want a light w/o.
I'm suppose to donate blood Wed night but DH may have to work late so I've cancelled the appt and may just pop in at the clinic if I can fit it in. I find I need a couple days to recover b/4 I have full energy back for a w/o.
Kim - I guess I should call the picture artwork. Once it's hung up I'll take a pic. My co-worker who went with me is backing me up on the purchase as DH things I'm just crazy for buying it. I need Cooler's opinions! Well, I really don't regret buying it but the price was a little steep!:rolleyes: But it's one of a kind! I have 2prs of Clark sandals I bought a few years ago. The best purchase I've ever made. No more cheap Walmart shoes for me.
Laurie - I say Barry's Bootcamp kit at Zellers the other day for about $70 (I think) and almost bought it as I've heard such good things about it, but I really didn't want another ball. I was just shocked to see it in the store as we never seem to get that stuff up here, especially retail.
Last night I watched from our On Demand channel "Nurse Jackie" with Edie Falco. I highly recommend it. It's only 1/2hr with no commercials. I watched 4 episodes it was sooo good. I think its an HBO original.
Oh, Thurs. night we're going to see Robin Williams at a casino a couple hours south of us. We're taking my brother for his 50th b.d. along with his wife and leaving DS at my Moms. I'm getting excited as I think the show should be really good. Just wonder how much swearing?
Off to get ready for Heros in 1/2hr.
Morning Coolers,
This morning was BFBM, what a great workout. Jillian is suppose to be coming out with a new workout at the beginning of Dec., so you know that this will be a purchase by me. :D
Patricia, I feel bad for still having my pumpkins and Halloween lights still on outside. :eek: :D Both you and Kim have me outpaced. :D The Barry's that you mention are a circuit type workout. I would concider them Hiit, because you do 1 min. of cardio (and it usually is a cardio that makes the HR go up), and then you do 1 min. of weight training. Now the weight training is with tubing, but you do so many reps that the part of the body worked does feel the burn. I actually like the pill shaped ball, because sometimes it is more stable. I use mine when doing bicep curls during STS, because it has a wider surface. I'm not sure exactly what the particular set you saw comes with, but I would think it has two sets of tubing, an Upper Body circuit, a Lower Body circuit, a code red. On the Upper and Lower are 6 additional 10 min. workouts that are for Abs, Lower and Upper body. Overall I was happy with the purchase, and I'm going to be doing a rotation of Jillian/Cindy/Barry right after STS. I'm starting Insanity with another person, and that will be sometime in Feb.
Have a great day!
Started week 3 of Insanity. Redid the fit test and was able to do more reps of all 8 exercises and didn't feel like being sick (at least until after the workout) so some good improvement;)
Tomorrow is statuatory holiday for Remembrance Day. Patricia, I don't think Ontario has it as a holiday? Everything is very closed up although stores open for a few hours now. Looking forward to sleeping in dong Insanity and scrapbooking for the day.
Laurie, I might just have to look at some of Jillian's workouts. Got to finish Insanity, the I want to do a round of STS with the new cardio. Not sure about marathon training in the spring but maybe after that?? Hmm, so many workouts and so little time. At least I'm not the only one with a 6 month workout rotation set out. ;) It's good to have a plan.
Patricia Are the CIA workouts all fairly old workouts? Robin Willliams should be lots of fun! I didn't know he still toured!
