~~~~ Coolers in May ~~~~
Morning Coolers,
This morning was Insanity Core Cardio and Balance. I'm on a recovery week, and it is probably a good thing because of all the activities going on after school this week. :rolleyes: Tonight is youngest DD's track meet, so I will be helping out for that. She had a meet last night, and her 4x100 came in 2nd and she came in 2nd for her open 400.
Kim, Great pics! Hope you have a better time with Insanity than the last. The first week was tough, but the workouts and warm-up :rolleyes: get better and better. So glad that I went through the program. Something about the mindset that you go through with Insanity, just makes me want to push through those points that seem so tough.
Patricia, Totally will love to do a GS split type rotation with ya. Can start picking out the 30 min cardio workouts that will be great. Some of those cardio premixes like what the Imax's have would be really good. Short, but intense and done in 20-30 min. Along with the Hiit of course. LOL :D Glad DS is ready to start his t-ball.
Have a great day!
Did my 3rd Insanity workout and no sign of my plantar fascitis so I'm happy!
Laurie, congrats to your dd on her track meet.
Patricia, you'll be moving soon! That seems quick! The t-ball will be cute!
Morning Coolers,
This morning was MMA Kickboxing.
Youngest DD got a first in her open 200, and a 2nd in her triple jump. :D
Kim, Super happy that you pf is not acting up. Keep up the great work with Insanity!
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers
Last night was Lean Circuit #2 along with 6 Min. Abs from SSex. Got busy emptying out our freezer of food that's no good since it was garbage day today. Have to start trying to use up food in the cupboards. I don't know how we collect so much staples when we generally eat fresh most of the time!
Rest day for me today.
Laurie - that's fantastic results for DD.
It's so great hearing everyone's kids are into sports/athletics. Certainly sets them up for a healthy lifestyle hopefully when they're adults.
Morning Coolers,
Workout was XStretch for me this morning, and really enjoyed getting those muscles all stretched out. Track meet again tonight, so will be attending that after work.
Patricia, I have wondered the same thing about the staples. I have been trying to get most of my freezer/panty cleaned out by making dinner incorporating some of the items. The freezer is slower though, just really hard to remember to thaw out some chicken. :rolleyes:
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers
Last night was Lean Circuit #3. I planted some container pots to make the front look prettier. I wasn't going to this summer but since the house hasn't sold I thought I better. We officially bought the house yesterday as the bank approval came through. I can tell DH is getting excited as he is making plans for the basement, though we're not going to start in on it until the fall/winter after cottage season.
This a.m. DS woke up with a fever so we're staying home today. Have to be out of the house at 10:00 for a showing so will get some groceries.
Today is a cardio day. Not sure what I'll do yet.
Laurie - I find track fun to watch. Must be even more fun to watch when your kids are involved.
Waving hi to Kim
Oh my goodness, we spent the morning at the design centre picking our options. The whole 3.5 hours is a blur. It's really not enough time, everything is done so quickly with not enough time to think.
We chose everything from stone, stuccos, shingles, garage door, deck, paint, railings, etc outside to cabinets, countertops, flooring, paint, interior doors, fireplace brick, baseboard, lighting, faucets, doorknobs, etc inside.
The interior designer was great but she knows so much and I don't nothing. I found myself just staring at her blankly at times then asking if she could just choose. Then she kept reminding us of the time. We went with oak cabinets which I would have like to upgrade but we spent so much money on other things we decided we would stay basic with cupboards. Then she starts asking about cutlery drawers, rolling drawers, sliding shelves, I had no idea.:confused::confused::confused: Everything costs so much money.
DH is calling me for supper, BBL.
I'm still plodding along with Insanity. I finished the first week yesterday. I'll do the first workout of week 2 today and then take Sunday off. Going to head to the cottage after lunch today and most likely come home Monday afternoon.
Patricia, are you going to the cottage for the holiday weekend? On the national news yesterday they were showing the highway out of Toronto to cottage country:confused: Hope ds is feeling okay!
Laurie Is your recovery week over the weekend? I hope you get lots of relaxing time. How did the other track meet go?
Good Saturday Afternoon Coolers
Just in at my parents for the evenings. Drove down to the cottage this a.m. and worked on it (or should I say DH did:p) Got the water running so have a flushing toilet and he has been working on more trim installation. Tomorrow he will hopefully finish it, sand it and have it ready for me to start priming and painting Monday:) DS and I sat on the dock, I took him for a kayak ride and we just hung out. Overcast but no rain with a light breeze to keep those pesky black flies away. The cottage is just not habital for staying so coming down each night to my parents. If all goes well this weekend then next weekend we should be able to stay at the cottage.
Got an email from our Real Estate agent. He had an open house and one of the people going through it this a.m. wanted back in at 4pm. It's now 5:20pm so may have some good news, who knows.
Kim - my rotation is broken up now too but if I get some hard work in at the cottage like painting and cleaning up I won't feel so bad! Have fun at your cottage this weekend. You're in the trailer there too???
Morning Coolers,
Wow did we have a beautiful weekend! We got the convertible out for a spin, and our friends invited us to there house for the evening. The girls loved being in the car. On Friday DH and I where at the elementary school talking about Elizabethan England in our clothes, the kids seemed to enjoy the information.
Here are my workouts:
Friday: Core Synergistics
Saturday: Jillian's Yoga Meltdown (both workouts)
Sunday: Fun in the sun :cool:
Monday: Hiit 30/30, Cindy Whitmarsh's Indredible Abs 2 from Exercise TV. Still have STS W1M1 Chest, Shoulders & Biceps to get done after work. :eek:
Kim, That process sure can be mind boggling. Yep the recovery week is now over with, and today was a tough workout. LOL Cathe just about killed me at the end. :eek: Just love that workout. Youngest DD did ok in her run, she came in 5th overall.
Patricia, Hope you hear some good news on selling your house. I enjoy watching track also, but it can test the nerves waiting for the girls events to begin. :D
Have a great day!
Just back from the cottage. Yes, we took the camper along for extra sleeping. It's my mom's cottage. It's a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom bungalow (now basement) also has a pullout couch but the family keeps getting bigger. Usually 13 of us (2 sisters each have 2 kids and a husband then my mom) for the holiday weekends so nice to have extra sleeping space.
It was fun besides the broken dock, broken boat, forgotten rudder for the pedal boat, rain, sunburns, woodticks and mosquitoes. LOL It's the usual. The kids had a blast! My mom complained alot that we don't come out often enough and DH and BIL did a huge list of chores that my mom found for them. The other BIL stands and supervises alot:eek:. The one sister drives the other 2 crazy, ( we spend alot of time doing this:rolleyes:behind her back) But everyone played nice. So the usual.
Laurie, that would be so much fun to go to the school in your costume. The kids would just love it! That's quite the workout you got going today:eek: I finished pure cardio, this was always by far my favourite of the first month workouts.
Oh, good luck Patrica, I hope you get some good news tonight! SO if you can sleep at the cottage, will you be spending more time there this summer? Once you move, will you be closer to the cottage?
Still thinking about upgrading the cupboards to a stained maple rather than oak, We have till Wednesday to change our minds. It will cost about $6,000 more and we have already upgraded so much! Any thoughts?
Might not be around tomorrow as it's DH's birthday and he wanted to go to the baseball game so going right after work.
Morning Coolers,
Insanity Max Interval Sports Training for me this morning.
Oldest DD is one step closer to the state meet. She was in three events last night, and all three qualified for the sectional meet. I think they may quality all three for state! :eek:
Kim, LOL about the family weekend, that sounds like ours with bugs included. The amount of people we have is double yours, and we do a lot of :rolleyes: too. LOL We have a graduation this weekend, will be the first grandchildren of my parents to graduate. I guess we are in the graduation process of a family, and then starts marriage! :eek:
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Just back from winning our 1st BB game of the season. Pretty tight game then we really started hitting in the last inning. I've got ice on my shoulder/neck. I've had some inflamation of the traps lately and falling out of the kayak this weekend kind of aggravated it. I'm sure throwing a BB doesn't help either:eek:
No more news on the house other than the buyer has conditionally sold his own house and it was being inspected today. So if he is serious about ours then maybe something will happen this week. A co-worker who has a house similar to ours is selling too and we're being compared. I think the same buyer is looking at both houses. So we will see. We're in a better neighbourhood and street and cheaper but they have some higher end finishes.
Kim - sounds like a fun weekend. That's what the cottage is for - getting together with family regardless how well we get along:D Our new house is about the same distance. It's just trying to get out of the City. Sunday drive home is usually at least 3 hours. Right now, since we drive north home it's always 2 hours. It's a bit unusual for people to drive south to their cottage. It's usually north:p I vote for natural (kind of a honey finish) MAPLE MAPLE MAPLE cupboards. I think oak looks old after awhile. So if you can swing it go for it!
Laurie - Wow, wasnt' it the weekend to have the top down:) I'm jealous. There was a slight breeze so hardly any black flies too! That sounds like fun, dressing up and talking at the school. I wonder how kids will get to know about the old ways if they aren't introduced to it somehow. My father builds muzzle loaders and we used to go to competitions with him to Kentucky. It was fun seeing people dressed up like indians, and in buckskins, and living in teepees. I throw a mean tommahawk (sp?):p I used to go camping with friends who re-enacted the war of 1812 and the Civil War. They enjoyed it except for sleeping on straw pallets:D I stayed in a hotel!;)
So have not worked out since Friday. Will try for Lean Circuit #1 tomorrow. The start of my 3rd week of CLX that should have begun on Sunday!
Morning Coolers,
This morning was Barry's Bootcamp 5 Day Academy Treadmill cardio, and Coremax #2. Will be getting in the Week 2 Meso 1 Legs workout done after work.
Oldest DD got her drivers liscense yesterday, so it was really strange to see her driving off to school this morning. Wonder how long it will take for me not to worry anymore. NEVER! :D
Patricia, Sorry to hear about the shoulder. Congrats on the BB win. Hope that guy makes up his mind soon, and chooses your house. ;) I wouldn't want to lay on a staw bed either! Just no way do we go that realistic. :eek:
Have a great day!
Finished my Insanity workout and now watching TBL finale (taped from last night).
Laurie, Congrats to your dd, what a milestone!! Of course you're going to worry! My ds is away on a band trip to Ontario:( Also congrats to her for her great track results! What a wonderful week she's having!
Patricia Congrats on the bb win! Hope the shoulder is just a passing twinge. I'm really leaning to get the maple cupboards. The designer said she would hold our order till Friday afternoon and we'll go in then to price it out.
Morning Coolers
Into work early today as DH is flying down to T.O. for a meeting so he is able to take DS to daycare instead of me. Got lots to do. We're going to ask for Occupancy and Substantial Completion tomorrow (which means we're pretty much ready to hand the hospital over to the Owner) so lot's of last minute stuff going on along with me crunching numbers for this! I've been on this project for 39 months so looking forward to some closure and starting something new.:)
Yesterday I rec'd my Cathe DVD order that I used some of my g.c. for. I ordered April 30th, and when I followed up on the status of shipping May 14th I got told they would ship the following Monday, with no explanation as to why the 2 week delay :( then 2 of the DVDs were loose in their cases and scratched:mad: So now I have to contact them about replacing them. One of the scratched ones was Bootcamp. Boy, I don't know why I hesitated in buying this. It was not near as tough and scary as I thought it would be. Hard by doable (well, I don't do tuck jumps so I substitute jumping jacks) and I came close to matching Cathe's weights.
I didn't do CLX last night partly b/c of my Cathe order arriving and now with my BB schedule and the cottage season I'm having a hard time figuring out how to fit in a 3-day split. I needed some sort of cardio last night so christened BC:D
Laurie - Say a big CONGRATS to your DD on getting her license. It's not easy. My nephew failed his here when he lived with us last summer and I've heard he since failed it again:eek: One more milestone down for her but I'm hearing you on always being worried.
Kim - did the person win on TBL that you wanted? Jillian has a new show starting in a couple weeks where she comes and live with you. Are you going to watch that?
Morning Coolers,
My workout was Kimberly Spreen's Absolute Kickboxing Premix #1, which is just the kb portion. Nothing else for me, because I have to get organized for heading up to my nephew's and nieces graduation on Friday. Then we will be going to my brothers cabin.
Kim, How was the TBL finish? Good I hope. I bet your ds is having a great time, and all we do is worry. :( I think my mother still worries about all of us, and then of course she worries about the grandchildren too. Maybe that is where I get it from. :eek:
Patricia, Congrats on getting the job finished. It must be refreshing to be able to start up a new project. I didn't realize that you didn't have Bootcamp, really is a gem of a workout. Muscle Endurance is on that one, and that is great too. The one thing that my DD did was practice practice practice for her test. Her instructor said that she was one of her best students, and I think she gets the good driving from me. DH is a horrible driver! :rolleyes:
Have a great day!
Just finished my Insanity workout for the day. DH joined me as it's not very nice outside for running. It was nice to have company. He's been running quite a bit recently but not doing any marathons this year. How are your DH's doing with their exercise plans???
DS phoned me last night, he had a good day. It sure sounded like a busy day! It started with a 3 hr bus ride, then they played a concert, shopping/walking around town (it's a resort area), then a dinner cruise around the lake, and swimming at the hotel . THose teachers must go home exhausted!!
I showed all my coworkers my kitchen plans, think I will replace one cupboard with two large drawers and ask for vertical dividers in one cupboard (for cookie sheets/cutting boards, etc). Unless the maple is crazy expensive than we'll go with a stained maple. Looking forward to going in tomorrow and getting that all wrapped up so I can stop stressing about it. My coworkers will be glad that I stop talking about it as well.:rolleyes:
Laurie Sounds like a fun weekend! Hope the weather will be nice to enjoy the cabin! LOL on DH's driving, does he think he's a terrible driver??
Patricia, What a great feeling to be finishing up a project! Will you be starting another project soon? I forgot you ordered those dvds! I agree both ME and BC are great workouts! Doable and some fun! ME has some good music.
The guy who won TBL lost 267 lbs! He was over 500 lbs at age 30! I sure hope he is able to keep the weight off! He went on the show with his mom who looked amazing at the finale!
Morning Coolers,
I got in about 85% of Disc 5 Back & Triceps. Needed to get the workout in by 6am so I could get into work early.
Oldest DD is going to the state track meet in both the 4x100 and 4x400, she had a great night running.
Kim, Sounds like your cabinets will be very useful, we didn't have that many options when we where building. That is a lot of weight to carry around, sure do hope the guy keeps it off. DH has me do most of the driving, so I think that he knows. When we go on long trips he gets tired about an hour into the drive. :rolleyes: Makes me crazy sometimes.
Have a great weekend,
www.randallhomes.net/design-studio/kitchen.htm
This is the design centre where we selected all our options. So if you go to the second picture, we picked the lighter cabintes (a stained maple) but in the Shaker style (same style as the darker cabinets). It was good seeing our choices again it made me feel more confident in our choices. The stained maple was only about $4,000 upgrade at the was for throughout the house (top of stub wall, railings, fireplace mantel, pantry door, etc) so not that bad. I did add the 2 pots & pan drawers and the vertical holders.
How exciting for your dd Laurie! When's that state meet??
