~~~~Coolers in March~~~~
I wore my spring jacket the last couple of days too Laurie, nice to have something lighter on. We had more snow yesterday and today is going to be quite cold (high -10) but the slow warmup is good for the flood situation.
No work for me today! Going to do Step Blast/Core Max 1 after I drop the kids off at school. This afternoon I have my annual exam at my family MDs
We tell ds all those things about the team and stuff. He knows it but still has his moments. Game 3 is tonight!
We have one more week of school then spring break. Spring break always starts the last Monday of March here. I took the week off as vacation but DH is working not sure what the kids and I will do. DS did sign up for a curling bonspiel:rolleyes: DD and I are not excited about hanging around curling rinks.
I've missed a couple of days of workouts. Wednesday I came home from work and DH was home sick! He's never sick so I had to take ds to hockey practice and was gone all evening so I had to forego the workout and yesterday was my birthday and we had company come by and stuff.
Morning Coolers,
Today was Bodystrikes with Ilaria.
Kim, Happy Belated Birthday Wishes! The hanging around the curling rink wouldn't be something that I would enjoy either. ;) Hope we don't get the colder temps to soon. ;) I'm enjoying this weather to much. We have the girls birthday celebrations on Saturday, so I'm going to be busy tonight and tomorrow. Glad that they have their birthdays so close together that I only have to eat cake on day.
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers
Lets see, last night I did MMA KB (minus the core drills:D) and did the 1st 10min of the bonus bag w/o. I've never done that pre-mix before. Might be good for a light 20min w/o in the future. I cut it short as DS came home and wanted some of my time.
Kim - Happy Belated Birthday. A good way to celebrate by starting vacation. That's great DS is keeping active between the hockey and curling. Hope DH is feeling better soon.
Laurie - I resisted cake yesterday. Someone bought it for St. Patrick's day and of course today is Donut Day that so far I've resisted:D:D, however, today I'm hungry and already finished 1/2 my lunch:eek: Have a fun weekend with the birthdays.
Yesterday it got up to 12degrees celcius - don't hate me! Today about the same but the weekend will go back down to 5 or so..... Its been great not wearing winter boots and yes, got a lighter jacket today to wear!
Afternoon Coolers
I got to sleep in until after 8 today. Can't remember the last time I did that (not even on my vacation!) Back from running errands and getting ready to do Disc 19-c/sh/t
Yesterday was Step Blast and CoreMax 1 then today was Cardio & Weights. Some fun workouts so easy to do.
DS's team ended up in second place:( So hockey season is over but he did sign up for ball hockey this spring.
Going over to my mom's for a family dinner today which will be good but probably not to healthy!
Patricia Enjoy that weather! It's +1 today but sunny so a little melting happening. I have one more week of work and then vacation. Friday was just a regular day off.
Enjoy the birthday celebrations! How old are the girls now???
Happy Spring Coolers
Had the day almost entirely to myself. DH too DS to lunch at a friends then back home where he went to a friend for a playdate. I got in a haircut and bought a clothing steamer. Tried it but not really sold on it so it most likely will go back.
Did BM2 - cardio step portion only, then AB circuits - med ball.
Kim - 2nd place is still impressive!
Evening Coolers
STS Disc 20 - legs is done. Quiet start to the week. Work did a major upgrade to our acctg system last week that we had to be off it Thur/Fri. Today it was up and running but real SLOW so they're busy working on it again. Hard to get motivated to work:confused::)
Tired today as I stayed up way too late reading last night! Anyone ever read Maeve Binchy's books?
Yesterday I did PS Back/Biceps/Abs and then in the afternoon I went out for coffee with two of the ladies from the jury. We had a nice chat, one of them wants to go to the sentencing in April and was wondering if I would go with her. I'm really not sure if I want to go. The whole case was in the 6 pm news again as they released some video of the accused. Seems like it will never go away.
This evening I did Cardio Kicks which was a night workout for a day that I don't feel very energetic. We are supposed to get 15 cm of snow tomorrow! With very high winds.
Patricia, is a steamer instead of an iron?? When work is slow the day can feel like forever! Are you getting behind on your work?
Do you know how hard it is to hustle with the cattle herd of commuters when you have DOMS from a leg workout last night:eek::p
Kim - I read one book by Maeve Binchy a long time ago. I know she is a good author but I find her books slow. I just finished the book "The girl with the dragon tattoo" Have you read that one? Slow to start but worth it to plug through it. Good to see that you can get together with other jurors, especially now that you have had time to assimilate it all. Not sure if going to the sentencing is a great idea though. Yes, a steamer is to replace the iron. I think it'll only good for dresses and not pants and shirts that you need to press. I need a new iron and thought this might be the answer - NOT!
Morning Ladies,
Sorry I was MIA for a few days, just way to busy. Yesterday morning was Supreme 90 Cardio Challenge and this morning was Supreme 90 Legs. Will be starting a Supreme 90 rotation tomorrow officially. ;)
The girls birthday party was nice, and didn't have to many leftovers. DH has been eating the Arby's roast beef for his lunches.
Yesterday our oldest received her acceptance letter to the college that she has been wanting to go to, so there was much jubilation at our house last night.
Patricia, Evertime we get upgrades to our system there are always problems that have to be fixed. :rolleyes: LOL on the leg DOMS during commuter travel, I don't know how that would feel. :eek: I have a steamer, and I love it. It has come in handy for the prom dress and delicate fabrics that I'm afraid the iron will ruin. Really works great on drapes.
Kim, That really is nice that you where able to go out with the juriors also. I would agree with Patricia about not wanting to be at the sentencing, just let it drift away JMO. ;) I love the PS series, really want to do those workout at some point in the future.
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers,
Supreme 90 Chest & Back for me this morning. I love the circuit format, or should I call it super set. Because that really is what this is. The pace was way to fast, and I had to hit the pause button in order to finish my circuit. But it isn't that big of a deal to do that.
Hope you both have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Just finished up Disc 21 - back/bi. One more week to go with M2.
No workout last night as I worked on my computer instead. My antivirus program scans emails as they go and when I have a big attachment it hangs in my outbox and I searched the internet trying to find out how to solve the problem. I think I got it fixed now.
Laurie - I saw Supreme 90 here at Bed Bath and Beyond for $25. It doesn't tell you how long each of the workouts are. Sounds like you're enjoying them. Congrats to your DD on the college acceptance. She must be over the moon. Can she live at home or does she move away?
We got one last kick at winter today with a snow storm. Didn't effect my commute since I take mainly trains to work now:p:p
Goodness, this March rotation has lots of rest days in it:rolleyes: Life just seems busy lately. Went to a reunion of my university classmates last night, was lots of fun!
Tonight I was shopping and getting ready for the party (jury) on Saturday night. I have parties planned for the next 5 weekends:rolleyes: I guess I should have been more careful when I kept saying "when the house is ready, we'll have you over"
Patricia I have read all three of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books. I really enjoyed the first 2 but the third one is a bit of a disappointment. We were suppposed to get a huge snowstorm yesterday and it completely bypassed us. North Dakota got hit hard though and it will all melt and flow up to Canada to flood us. How much snow did you get?
Laurie CONGRATS to your dd!!! A birthday party and acceptance letter within a few days. You are definitely the best of the "coolers" at sticking with a rotation. Just saying Patricia.
I think I've decided against atteding the sentencing although I have to admit I am really curious to hear what the judge will say. It's almost as if I want to hear him validate our decision. I'll talk to the girls when they are over this weekend.
Morning Coolers,
Ultimate Ball for me this morning, and my abs are really sore right now! :eek: I guess I skipped the ab work in my STS rotation way to much. :D This is by far my favorite stability ball workout, and it raises your heat rate also.
Patricia, There is a thread over a vf that gives all the times on the workouts. The only one that is long is Back & Biceps, and it is about 53 min. Everything else is 40 min or less. Hope you got your computer problems solved also. Oldest DD will have to live on campus, because she is on the track team and will need to be there for practices and training.
Kim, LOL on the party invites to your new house, you will be very busy with all that. Are these just small parties with appetizers, or are you going with full meals? Or I guess the other option is the pot luck! ;)
Have a great day!
Well I have been plodding away on the March rotation. Thursday was Athletic Step with Ab Cirucuits and yesterday was PS Chest/SHoulders/Tris, today will be a 40 min run and Core Max to finish up week 3.
Laurie, most of the get togethers I'm just providing some snacks and other people have offered to bring some. My grocery bills have been rather high the last couple of weeks:eek:
How far away will your dd be?? Close enough to come home for weekends? This is going to be a big change for your family!
Morning Coolers,
Friday I did S90 Tabata Inferno, Saturday was S90 Shoulders & Arms. Sunday was a rest day and this morning was S90 Legs. Feeling all parts of my body right now. :D
Kim, I can totally understand the $ that you need to spend for parties. Just having the family over for the girls birthday party was expensive. ;) But it is so nice to chat with people in a comfy environment.
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers
Time is just getting away with me here:( Had 2 really bad commutes to work last week. Between engines not working or being damaged due to debris on the track either trains were late or completely cancelled!:eek::confused:
We had company for the weekend so I know all about the higher grocery bills. It was the annual Cottage Show this weekend and In-laws came down to stay and we all went to it. BIL and wife came over for dinner Sat. too. Sunday was DH's nephew's championship hockey game so we all went to that - they won. He is only 8 but they played well and it was quite a nail biter:p
I did manage to get some workouts in. Sat. was Disc 22 - C/S/T, Sun. was the 1st 20min of Intensity step then I ran out of free time:( Last night was Disc 23 - legs. One more disc and I'm done M2:)
Laurie - I see S90 getting lots of press on VF and here. I like the sound of the shorter workouts. I'm starting to think what to do after STS along with summer coming. I think I might go to a 4 day schedule or figure out some sort of routine to do at the cottage. You would think just being there would be easy to get a workout in outside but I need something to follow along to. Oh, I'd like to know what moves in the step portion of Intensity worked my abs b/c they were sore all day Sunday:)
Kim - Did you have a fun weekend entertaining?:) Just another week left to your rotation. I was struggling last night to want to do Legs as I'm getting bored. I think 3 weeks of the "same" routines is enough for me even though they are somewhat different. We got about 16 cm of snow and it really hasn't melted as it's been COLD at night. I think today is the last cold day and then we're on the upswing:p My H.S. is having it's 50th anniversary this spring and my sister and I are going. Not sure if I'll run into anyone I know as I didn't keep in touch with anyone from school. It'll be fun to walk the halls though.
Congrats on almost finishing meso 2 Patricia! That's a good idea to look for a shorter workout routine for the summer. Do you think you'll be at the cottage more this summer??
We're staying quite consistently at highs around zero or slight above but it's sunny. So we're getting a very slow melt which is perfect for flood conditions!
The entertaining went well on Saturday night! I had 9 of the jurors respond that they would attend (2 I had never heard back from) and 7 showed up. I never understand why people say they will come and then never let you know that they changed their mind. Most of the 7 brought spouses and we had a good time! Lots of yummy food and wine. I had too much of both! Sunday I was busy eating leftovers and feeling very low energy:rolleyes::rolleyes: and so didn't get much done.
Yesterday I started week 4 of the March rotation with S & H Chest/Back and today will be IMAX 2.
The kids and I are enjoying spring break. DD had been wanting blue streaks in her hair awhile:confused: so we went to the hairdressers so got blue and I got my grey covered up (not with blue) She also decided she needed blue fashion glasses to match:rolleyes:. Since the hairdresser was in the old neighbourhood, ds went along to hang out with old schoolmates and then two came home with us. They spent the afternoon playing street hockey and met some kids from the new street as well so that was good!
This afternoon we have tickets for the Titanic exhibit which is in town, we're excited to see it.
Yesterday I booked our flights for Disney!!! I know it's super early but when travelling with 12 people and 6 have to arrange time off work you have to do things early and the reward card I'm using has limited number of seats on each flight. We're going New Year's Eve and returning Jan. 11. so a longer trip! GOing to spend 4 days at Universal checking out Harry Potter then a week onsite at Disney.
Isn't amazing how kids hockey can be so exciting! Did it get your ds interested in playing?? Hopefully you bad commutes isn't a common thing!
Just getting ready to leave work. LOL Kim - what, no blue streak for you! That's great you've arranged for flights already. Now you will want winter to come back real quick:eek:
Painters are here doing the trim around the basement windows as it was never done before we moved in:rolleyes: They phoned last night and asked if they could come at 8:30 am, of course there was no chance that my 13 yr old was going to be awake at 8:30 on spring break so he's sleeping in the living room. When they are done my plan is to do High Step Challenge.
We actually have no plans whatsoever for today. The kids were interested in going wall-climbing so might do that.
Tomorrow ds's curling bonspiel starts and his first match is at 8:30 across the city:rolleyes: I'm complaining about that as much as was complaining about the painters coming.
