~~~~Coolers in June~~~
Did the second workout of month 2. Goodness these are hard workouts! At least today I didn't need to go lie down afterwards:rolleyes:
Quick mommy brag, ds got exam results back. He got a 90% average:cool::D:p He got a 100% in English which doesn't surprise me one bit, man can that kid talk! He's quite the overachiever. Just hope he doesn't burn himself out before he makes it to university.
Laurie, Toy Story 3 was quite a tear jerker, for me, dd didn't cry of course:rolleyes: Sounds like a good functional workout you had this weekend.
Patricia, how exciting to see the cottage coming together! Do you like the paint colours that you choose? Hopefully the iron pills help you out!
Morning Coolers,
No workout for me this morning, no power! A tornado touched down about 5 miles from our house, and we either had a low funnel cloud or really strong winds pass over our house. We have debris all over our yard, so I will be outside after work to clean up that mess. Our black walnut tree has one large branch taken out and several smaller.
Kim, Oh I'm probably going to cry too! ;) Congrats to your DS, that is quite an acheivement. The first week of those workouts are really tough, but they do get better. ;)
Have to run to a meeting.
Have a wonderful day!
Wow Laurie - that was close:eek: Good thing no damage to your house. Hope it doesn't take too long tonight for the clean up.
Kim - LOL, I love our paint colours as we only used one colour:D Cloud White (OC-130) - its the "colour" all the designers have been using for the last few years. I saw at the paint store the clerk has a posted note on her computer for the formula it must be soooo popular:) The only colour is a gold/yellow in our bathroom. So paint is somewhat "easy":D Go ahead and brag - how can you not with those results. That's terrific!
I didn't get to the lab yesterday so will today for more blood tests. I also want to pick a homeopathic alternative to iron pills called Floadex. It's a liquid and apparently easier on the body. I play BB with someone who is heavy into homeopathic medicine. Another play got hit by the BB in the mouth and her mouth immediately swelled right up. She recommended Traumeel (sp?) for it and boy did it work. She used it after a very difficult birth and the nurses couldn't believe her recovery. I believe in trying alternatives to traditional medicine.
Last night I did the Power Circuits and UB from BM2. If it doesn't rain on us today I've got BB tonight.
Got to wear shoes today to workout! Got to celebrate the small things in life!:D Did my Insanity workout and DH joined me. I liked this workout, Maximum Cardio, I also prefered Pure Cardio the first month. I rather do the endurance style workouts then the intervals, it's nice not repeating exercises.
Also got lots of weeding done in the garden, things are coming along well. Should be able to pick the lettuce soon.
How did the baseball go tonight patricia? Is ds's baseball all done?
How scary Laurie! How long was the power out for?
Morning Coolers
No BB last night due to raining all day:( So I did 4DS BC cardio only along with the abs from 4DS KB. Didn't really enjoy the abs but the BC was fun.:)
Today is DS's last day of J.K. We were talking about it in the car today. He knows he is on summer vacation and that he will be going to SK next year, in a new school. I think having to make new friends is scaring him a bit (rightly so). We're taking him out for dinner tonight for this momentous occasion:D Well, also this way we don't have to cook:D;)
Glad to hear Kim that your foot is getting better.
Morning Coolers,
4am wake up call this morning, with more t-storms. :rolleyes: Our power finally came on at 7:30 pm last night, and boy was I happy about that. Hauling all that tree debris to the side of the road made me a sweaty mess. :eek: Felt good to get the bark off my skin. :D
This morning was Core Cardio & Balance along with PY4H Quickie. That was a great combo.
Patricia, Sounds like some great celebration plans for DS's last day. It is suppose to be another hot humid day around here, so I think we will either go out to dinner or I will get something from the deli. Don't like heating up the house to much right now. ;)
Kim, Glad you where able to wear shoes for your workout. Now I'm just the opposite and really enjoy the interval work. ;)
Have a wonderful day.
Hey, we had an earthquake here in Ontario. Did you feel it Kim out your way? It was pretty far reaching. Only lasted about 15 secs or so with just a slight shaking of our site trailer.
Laurie - glad to hear you've got power again. It's hot and humid here too and I hear yah on not heating up the house. We were given a used microwave oven/exhaust fan for the cottage several years ago. We never installed it until last weekend and little did I know it is alsoa convection oven. I danced when I saw that b/c I hope it will be better then using the stove and keeping the cottage cool. Now I just have to figure out how to use it. I was just surprised it still work as it's been moved around the floor of the cottage for the last 3 years and was pretty dirty looking:eek:
Well, we sure are having quite the weather here in Ontario:confused: Yesterday a tornado touched down about 2.5 hrs south of us and about 20min west of my parents. I got an email from my parents who were leaving for a camping trip for the weekend about a storm coming. What an understatement:eek::rolleyes: Boy, is it ever raining and lighting here today.
Also, the G8 is happening about 2 hours south of us and the closest airport is here along with a military base. Fighter jets flying over yesterday. I'm hoping we don't have any issues driving south to our cottage as we drive by near where the G8 is being held. Also I just heard for the G20 being held in downtown T.O. all our jobsites are being closed with in a certain perimeter of the summit. So lots going on here lately:D
My internet is down at home so waiting for the call for the technician to come an look at it sometime today. Since I live so close to home it's worked out well in the past to get a 10min call before they show up so I can meet them.
Last night I did Muscle Endurance for the 1st time. I did the Express pre-mix. That's a fun w/o with lots of leg work. Tonight I have a hair appt to get me through finding a new hairdresser for after the move.
I offered to take DS out to a "nice" restaurant for finishing JK and he only wanted Subway so that's where we went:):D
Morning Coolers,
This morning was Hiit Double Wave Pyramid and KCM's Cardio Blast Plyometric workout. Got some more work done in the yard last night, and plan on going out again tonight after work. Have decided to push my rotation out another week, because I really don't have a chance this week to do evening workouts. This afternoon we have a team building event, so I will be playing a couple of games of softball.
Patricia, That sounds like our crazy weather, and today the humidty is none exsistant so it is suppose to be a gorgeous day. LOL on the oven, that is a great surprise. I have always wanted one of those just for the summer. Funny that your ds just wanted Subway, but what a great choice.
Have a wonderful day!
I have to run to work but just had to share something really funny. Yesterday at the grade school awards ceremony my dd won the Athlete of the Year. This is our princess that hates sports, refuses to learn how to skate because it's too cold, won't ride her bike around the block because it's too scary, has never played an organized sport, etc. My DH phoned me at work to tell me but was laughing so hard that I couldn't figure out what he was saying. I thought he was crying and she was hurt!
I always thought she was athletic if she ever tried anything. This year I made her join track and she did well. I guess the gym teachers see potential in her and probably at school she listens and actually tries things.
Just so funny, my athlete of the year:rolleyes::confused::D:D I wonder if she wore her tiara while accepting the certificate.
We were at a big family dinner last night and everyone I told would say congratulations, umm, I didn't know she played sports? LOL
I posted her picture in my album, fall 2009
Too funny Kim - I guess it goes to show we really don't know what our kids are up to when we're not around:D:)
My head feels lighter today. Got about 2" taken off.
My body is sore from my w/os this week so I wasn't sure what or how intense of cardio I wanted to do. I put in CIA Step Surge, did the the WU and couldn't get into it. So I thought it would be a good time to practice Step Moves and kind of fell in love with it:D About a 1/3 of the way into it the music got into my blood. It was a good night to practice the choreography.
Going to the cottage tomorrow and paint the living room. I've packed a new bedspread for our bed that I bought about 3 years ago so it's exciting to actually start putting out all the stuff we've been stockpiling:D
Morning Coolers,
Yesterday at the softball games I pulled a hamstring in my leg. Not a bad one, but it is a little painful to get out of chairs or go upstairs. We won our first two games, so that got us in the championship game. That one we lost. I had to hit the ball over the infield after the leg injury, and I actually did pretty good. I think I only had one hit that landed right in someones glove. :D
Kim, That is very funny about your DD. My oldest was the same way when she was younger. I labeled her my princess also, but I told her she had to join one sport, she chose track. Well look where that took her. ;) Took a look at the pic, and your DD is so cute. Love her big smile.
Patricia, That is so nice that you are able to get the items for the cabin out for display. It will start feeling like a home away from home soon, probably better. Enjoy your time at the cabin.
Have a great day!
Just back from having a celebration pizza dinner. Today was ds's turn. He won the biggest award for Junior High. It's the CAP award (Citizenship Academic and Physical) for the student who achieves highly in all three areas. That's my boy! His teacher emailed me yesterday but I couldn't get time off so my DH and my mom went to watch.
Had a big family dinner at my cousins' place last night as some out of town relatives are in visiting so didn't get my Insanity done. Will do it tonight in a few minutes.
Patricia, we never felt any of the earthquake, we did have a tornade touch down just outside the city the same day. Destroyed one home. Weird weather that day! So strange for an earthquake where you are! How fun to be decorating the cottage!
Oh Laurie I sure hope that hamstring is okay! Maybe my daughter will end up being a track star as well!
A quick story that my ds told me last night. A kid he doesn't really know well made a joke to him about "being weak like his mom" and ds's friends all piped up and said you haven't met his mom. They were all talking about strong my arms look. LOL
Too funny Kim about the arms, as I just finished up PUB as I've been liking my arms lately and wanted to keep going forward with my progress since tank top season is here:D No surprise on the award for your DS. That's fantastic.
Finished painting the living room and got the couch and chairs set-up. We bought 2 rugs for our bedroom and living room so just need a coffee table and end tables. While DS and DH were out for a boat ride the motor broke down and they had to be towed back to the cottage:eek: DH thinks water got into the gas tank so we had to take the motor in to be serviced today. So a bit of a drag. Not looking forward to the repair bill:( He also got a speeding ticket today so not a good weekend in a way:eek::rolleyes:
Laurie - sounds like I could use you on my team:) Hope you're nursing that ham.
Morning Coolers,
Jillians Yoga Meltdown for me this morning. The warrior poses get me in the leg, but I have just ease up a bit on that leg. It really just feels sore now, so I'm hoping to be able to test it out maybe next week with some light weights. Saturday I got the rest of the tree line weeded, and now I just need to get in the ground cover plants. I just want the ground cover to do what all the weeds where doing before. :eek:
Kim, Congrats to your DS on his achivement. Love the guns! ;) Even your DS's friends notice. ;) I love having the strengh, what other 47 yr old can do what I do unless they work out. :D
Patricia, Oh so sorry to hear about the added expenses (ticket included). :( I had someone comment about my arms, and of course I was wearing a tank top yesterday. :D
Have a wonderful day!
Insanity done for today. Only 16 more workouts to go!:rolleyes:
Well my ds is in the schoolyard playing basketball, DH is out for a run and my athlete of the year, is playing Barbies in front of the tv.:rolleyes:
Laurie That hamstring is still giving you some trouble?? Did you ice after your workout?? Who commented on your arms?
Patricia Oh I could write a book about boat issues:rolleyes: Boats just drive me crazy and I don't even own one. We have sunk, swamped, hit rocks, stalled in the middle of lakes, etc. At then to end the weekend off with a ticket:eek:
We had a fairly relaxing weekend. Went out for dinner Saturday night with 2 other couples. The handyman and an employee can by for a few hours Sunday afternoon and finished everything up at the house. Got my Insanity in both days.
I only work Monday/Tuesday and then off for a 5 day weekend. GOing up to mom's cottage Thurs-Sunday. The kids had their last full day of school today and then have Wednesday morning to say goodbye/clean up etc.
Morning Coolers,
Today was Disc 7 Chest, Shoulders & Biceps. Going to get the last of the plants installed in my rock garden tonight, got most of the ground cover planted last night. There was a nice cool breeze going, and by the end it got cold. :eek: After the humidity we have had lately, that really felt wonderful.
Kim, LOL your DD sounds just like my oldest. She would play with her barbie's all day long. :D Right now the hamstring is fine, just gives me a few twinges when I just happen to slip on a rock:rolleyes:. Yep I have been giving it some ice. ;) When it first happened I took a can of beer and used that as my ice pack. Didn't drink it, but it sure did the job. :eek: Have a great time with your 5 days off. I will have 4 days total. :D
Have a wonderful day!
So nice not to go to work today:p:D Kids have to go for the morning and then they are out! I'm going to try and get groceries/do my workout while they're at school and then maybe we'll do something fun afterwards.
How does the rock garden look Laurie? Are you happy with it? I know what you mean about the coolness, we've had some high humidity here lately which is unusual for us. How are your mosquitoes? We are having record high numbers this year.:(:mad:
Are you doing anything fun on your 4 day weekend?
Patricia Do you get Canada day off? When is your last day of work? I was looking at the itinerary for the roadtrip in July, it looks like so much fun! If we weren't building the house I think I might have gone this year. You'r going again right? Any more viewings on the house??
Good Morning this last day in June:):)
Lets see, Mon night I did B&G minus the "Gutts":p I had to be up at 4am Tues to catch a flight to T.O. It was delayed by over 1hr so I could have slept in. :(:rolleyes: Boy, was I tired all day. Got home late afternoon in time to put a few more hours in at work. Then out for dinner and DS's t-ball. Boy, was it cold. I was wearing a sweater and jeans and still freezing. Today is rainy and cold again but the long weekend looks sunny and WARM:)
Tomorrow is Canada DAY (yippee) but I'm working Friday:( DH will take DS on Thurs. to the cottage and I'll meet up with them late Friday. DH turns 5 on July 5th so Sat. we have a b.d party at the cottage for him with just family the back home here for a party with his friends at the bowling alley.
Kim - looks like you got a jump start on the long weekend:D:) No good news on the house selling yet, but a showing this afternoon. We lowered the price last week. People just keep saying it's too small. Well, its a bungalow what do you expect? Yep I'm still going on the RT. I was wanting to buy a couple new tops but not sure if I'll have time to get to Lululemon before then. I got a g.c. I want to use. I'll need all the workouts to release all the stress from the move from the weekend before:D:D
Laurie - Hows the hamstring now? Hopefully fully recovered. I sure wish we had your humidity problem (well not really) but it's only 15c here that last fews days and that's just not nearly warm enough for me. I'll be glad to move south where it's generally 5 degrees warmer. I am SOOOO ready to move on. 3 weeks to go:D
Kim - thanks for the heads up on the RT schedule. It looks like a BLAST. I love Friday night the combo step/kb class;) I better start practicing CCC and at least make it through the 1st 1/2 hr. I know that's a tough one:D:eek:
Now, lets hope no one breaks a ankle Fri. night like last year:eek::confused:
