~~~~Coolers in June~~~
Morning Coolers,
Tae Bo Get Ripped #1 was the workout of choice today. Actually have an evening free tonight, so hoping to get in some yoga after work. Will make one of the girls walk the dog, so I can get going on that right away. :D
Patricia, Maybe those buyers will be motivated when someone else sees the house this weekend. ;) That is what happened when we sold our house. :D LOL on the wacky hair, that sure does sound like fun. Sorry to hear that you couldn't sleep, but dang you can't have cheesecake without some good coffee. ;)
Kim, You will really enjoy the recovery week, and then you get into those tougher workouts. I think the first week is probably the toughest. I do not have a squat rack, but like you I use a weighted vest. I really enjoyed the workout, so plan on doing one of those every Meso 3 week I have. I saw that Walmart is now carrying a 40lb weighted vest, and you can adjust the amount of weight. Can understand you hesitation on having to cover the burn unit. :confused:
Have a wonderful day!
Good news from the housing people today! We are on the next schedule which means our house will be started within the next 2 weeks. The steel was delivered to the lot today:D
Insanity is done. One day left! Was kind of interesting to go back to the wards which is the building beside the one I work in. I switched positions 8 years ago and nothing has change:rolleyes: (people, equipment, rooms,,etc) Spent some time in the ICU with a 24 year young man with burns to 90% of his body (propane heater at the cottage exploded). Sure makes you realize how lucky you are. I'm going to be even more paranoid around the campfire this weekend.
Laurie Enjoy that free evening! Are the kids doing anything to celebrate the end of school??
Patricia Yummy, cheesecake. Sounds like a fun evening!
I might not be around a couple of days. Tomorrow afterwork will get in that last Insanity workout (really I will!) then cook supper, pack the camper and head out to the campground for the weekend. DS is bringing a friend along and we're bringing a tent to stick the two 13 yr old boys in:rolleyes: Will come home Sunday afternoon.
Morning Coolers
Well, another win last night at BB. That makes us 6-0:D I missed Friday's game but they got soaking wet so it was a good one to have missed:D:p
Busy weekend for us. Company BBQ tomorrow, another Open House:mad:, DS has a B'day party on Sun and I have BB Sun and it's suppose to rain the whole weekend. Fingers are x'd it just stays overcast:confused:
Kim - great news. Now you'll be able to drive by every few days and watch the progress of the building. Accidents happen so fast. I can understand why some women refuse to light their BBQ and make their DH's do it:eek: Have a GREAT FUN weekend at the cottage.
Laurie - did you get some yoga in last night?
Morning Coolers,
Last night I thought a short run on my tm would be a good idea, but apparently my tm didn't think so. About 6 min. into the workout the tm stopped. DH thinks it is something with the circuit board. :( PY4H Daily Dose of Bliss was then started after that. :D This morning was STS Disc 30 Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps. After work plan on a Barry's 5DA floor cardio and some abs either Coremax or a Cindy Whitmarsh workout from ExerciseTV On Demand.
Kim, Great news on your house. How awful for that young man. :( You have a great weekend, and I hope those boys enjoy the great outdoors in their tent.
Patricia, Congrats on another win. You are going to really have a busy weekend, just enjoy and I hope the rain stays away until you are in your house. ;)
Talk at ya later,
Back from camping. It worked out taking a friend for ds. They sure had lots of fun. We had a great time until dd developed a little stomach bug late last night. She started to complain around 11pm, I thought she was just overtired/ate too much junk so put her to bed. She woke up a couple of hours later and was sick. I managed to clean her and her sleeping bag up. A hour later it happened again and as I was trying to wash her hair, sleeping bag/pillow in the camper's sink (about 6"x6") it wasn't so much fun. I also realized she had no more clean clothes and we were only 30 mins from home. So she and I jumped in the car and drove home. Lots of deer on the road at that time of night! I gave her a hot shower and put her in my bed. She slept late and then we drove out to get the 3 boys/trailer.
I did Insanity Core Cardio and Recovery. It wasn't what I was expecting, I quite enjoyed it. I never did it last time as we went to Disney on my recovery week.
Laurie, so is that it for the tm??? At least it died during the summer so you can do some running outside.
Patricia Good job on the baseball! Does your DH come watch you play? Hope your open house went well.
Morning Coolers
It just seems the weekend just flew by! Drove down to the cottage and helped bring over material for the screened in porch we're having built all during a light misting rain - better than a down pour:D Then back home for a company BBQ which was really fun. DS was out with a couple other kids and an adult on a pedal boat and some rough housing went on and all but him went for a swim! He got scared so they brought him back to shore. He said it was scary fun! Sun. dropped him off at a b.day party - he didn't want me to stay (he told Daddy that "I left him" - doesn't that sound bad:rolleyes:) We had our 1st loss at BB yesterday too! Against another undefeated team so I don't feel so bad. We did lose 28-12 so really no contest there was there!
Have another company party tonight. This is what happens when we complete a project - just party party party:D:) Have to get some sort of w/o in to work off the extra cake and alchohol I'm having these days:);)
Laurie - I think you needed some Bliss after your TM brokedown. Hopefully its an easy fix.
Kim - Ehh, what a lovely:confused: time you had. Did you make up for your lost sleep yet? Hope DD is feeling better now. DH will come and DS to watch me play if the time is convenient. He usually ends up taking DS over to the park across the street from the diamond. Another couple who I play with have a son the same age so they'll bring him and they play together or yesterday they brought a babysitter who kept an eye on them at the park.
No movement on the house. We had a showing on Fri. night, but no one came to the open house at all on Sat. Apparently there were very few people attending any open houses at all on Sat. - could be just an off weekend or the market has just slowed right down. Who knows. We've told our Agent to go back to the Buyer who put an offer on our house last week and keep the negotiation going.
Morning Coolers,
Weekend was a bit damp, but overall had a great weekend. Friday we got out in the convertable and went to a drive-in. Saturday my workouts where a 30 min. run and Disc 29 Plyo Legs. Sunday was our guilde rehearsal, so no workout for me.
Kim, I'm so sorry to hear that your DD got so sick, but glad you where so close to home. I really like the recovery disc, your legs get worked without you even realizing it. :D I'm hoping the tm is easily fixed, just have to get someone out to look at it. I really enjoy doing interval runs on the thing.
Patricia, Dang on the bb loss, but if you have to you want it to be to a good team. ;) Bet everyone was taking the time off from looking at homes, but then again damp weekends are the best time. Still keeping those fingers crossed.
Have a wonderful day!
Not feeling 100% today, don't know if I have a touch of what dd had or just still tired from the weekend. DH and I did the Insanity recovery workout today. I really like this workout!
Laurie, a drive in what fun! Did you see a movie? Our last drive in closed a couple of summers ago.
What a busy weekend you had! Is ds almost finished school? DD seems okay today she was very lethargic all day Sunday which was too bad as it was a beautiful sunny day.
DS is in exams now so only has school in the morning. They are supposed to stay at school in the afternoon to study for the next day's exam unless they had a note from their parent that they could study at home. So he talked DH into writing a note and when I phoned his cell phone this afternoon he was at the mall:rolleyes: He promised me that he will get over 85% on every exam so we'll see.
Morning Coolers
Had fun at our company celebration last night. Lets just say it was a liquid dinner for me and leave it at that:):D:D
I have a late BB game tonight but want to try and go for a walk before that. We have a showing at 6-7 and DS has t-ball at 6 so the timing is good for that. Also, another showing booked for tomorrow at 11am. Weired now to have showings thru the week.
Laurie - we still have a drive-in near our cottage. Soo much fun. Hmm, I wonder if the one is open near our old neighbourhood. It was 3 yrs ago so will have to check it out. I have such fond memories of going to them. We've taken DS a few times.
Kim - hope you don't p/u what DD had:( Hopefully DS is so confident that he didn't need to study. Me, I was cramming until say 10pm the night b/4 and then I figured if I didn't know it by then I never would. Better to have a good night sleep at that point. Sooooo glad I don't have to do exams anymore. I've done some night school on and off over the years so the memory is still pretty fresh:eek:
Morning Coolers,
Insanity Max Recovery for me this morning.
Kim, Glad you are enjoying your recovery week. I still like using that workout during a recovery week. Hope you are not getting that bug! :( Oh those dang kids, they sure do know how to play us parents. We have been dealing with DD not getting home when we want her to. She just doesn't realize what time it is. :rolleyes:
Patricia, Glad you had fun at the party. ;) Sounds like the weekend crowd is now getting into the during the week. That is a good thing. Hope you have a great bb game.
Later!
Nothing exciting here. Insanity recovery workout done for the third day in a row. DD and I are feeling better. DH and ds went to the ZZtop concert.
patricia, glad your are having such fun get togethers before you move. Will you keep in touch with some of the coworkers or are some moving back with you?
Oh Laurie, those teens! It's hard to know what the right thing to do is. DS is an excellent student and will probably end up with an above 90% average so I can't really make him study more, I guess. They have no school tomorrow, they are supposed to go to school and study/get help from the teacher for Thurs/Friday's exams or bring a note to stay home and study. I think I'll let him stay home as long as promises to do at least one hour of review for each exam.
A little tired this a.m. Stayed up to read after getting home from a late BB game that we LOST:( Not a good week for us:eek:
I did something to my inner thigh running so much at the 1st BB game of the season and I can't seem to get it stretched out. Last night running the bases was painful. I usually pinch run and last night I said NO! I've been icing it the last couple nights. Have 2 more games this week to get through though.
Last night's showing got cancelled due to the family having to run their son to the ER. Hope everything is okay for them but I was disappointed since I hustled home to vacuum the house:eek: Oh well, what can you do.
Today at DS's school is bring your parents to lunch day so we're going there. Suppose to be a picnic lunch but it's coolish and overcast.
Kim - ZZ Top - that sounds like fun. I don't think I'd recognise their music anymore though. I still remember their music video from the 80's - something about She's got Legs - is that right? Do they even write new songs anymore? I was speaking to someone from Winnipeg on my last airplane ride. She said it you wanted to hear music Winnipeg was the place to be - very cultural for that.
Laurie - do the kids get a week or 2 off before they start up summer school? I feel left out. You're both doing Insanity Recovery this week:eek::D
Morning Coolers,
MMA Boxing with weighted gloves was my workout.
Got home from work yesterday (in pouring rain :confused:), and walked into a spotless kitchen. I had asked the girls to do the dishes before I got home, and they cleaned the whole kitchen! The girls get paid for chores, so I think the oldest needs some $ for gas. :D Now I'm hoping the two items I asked them to do today will get done too. :eek:
Kim, I was at a ZZ Top concert once, and it was outdoors. Now I have never done any type of drug (except perscription) in my life, but I think I got high that night from the fumes. :eek: Good concert though. :D My oldest was actually on the honor roll this year! She really did a super job with her studies, and probably grew up a little too. She wasn't studying at night, but she passed everyone of her classes. :rolleyes: Now I just have to get on the youngest. LOL
Patricia, Sorry to hear about the loss, and that your thigh is not up to par. Hope that young man is ok too. Have a great time at the lunch, sure sounds like fun. Both girls start summer school next week, and they will be there from 7:30 to 10am. The oldest has to go for 4 weeks (just one class), youngest for 8 weeks (two classes). Hope this makes the youngest work harder next year, so she doesn't have to ruin her summer. :rolleyes:
Have a great day!
Hi Coolers,
All three segments of Stretchmax for me this morning. Nothing else exciting going on, had another cleaning fairy yesterday. Youngest did the chores I asked be done, and she even made a batch of brownies. :D
Hope all is going well with everyone.
Have a wonderful day!
What a demoralizing week for our BB team. After winning 6 in a row we've now lost 3:eek::eek: We better turn this streak around at tonight's game:confused: Been a busy week with 4 games so no workouts for me:p
DH took today off work as we're having furniture delivered to the cottage - pull-out couch and 2 chairs. Plus we bought a new bed frame for our bedroom which he took down in our truck today. The plan is to spend the weekend at the cottage and hopefully finishing painting it this weekend and next and then we're done the bulk of our work this year.:):)
I've started to make the calls to open up accounts for utilities for our new home. Trying to get as much done now as I know it will start to get hectic with packing up the site trailer at the same time as we're moving.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Morning Coolers,
Barry's Bootcamp 5DA Total Body for me this morning. Last night Cami and I went for a short run, the weather was to nice to pass up. Today the humidty is just awful, so no running tonight. :eek:
Patricia, Sorry to hear about the losses, but will send winning vibes for you for tonight. Enjoy your painting, sounds like the cabin is getting into shape.
Have a wonderful day!
Sorry I missed a couple of days. Nothing exciting around here. I did 5/6 days of the recovery workout. Yesterday I wore new shoes to work and develop large blisters so skipped the recovery workout last night:( Today is my rest day and then tomorrow will start month 2 of Insanity!
Sorry about the losses Patricia! Hope the team turns around soon. Hopefully you'll be able to start enjoying the cottage more and not always working. Will have to get out to mom's cottage soon as the grass is probably 3 feet high. I sure wish she would sell the place. How's the leg??
Yes Winnipeg is a big music/cultural place. Really we are! Somehow we don't have that image and yet we really are a large music centre.
Laurie How nice to come home to a clean kitchen! DS has been having morning exams and afternoons off all week and he's been great as well! One day he made brownies, one day he started supper.
It's been pouring rain again the last 2 days. There is talk about flooding again:rolleyes::confused: The floodway is incredibly full and now the mosquitoes are coming out in full force. So not helping the building of the house, hoping for next week.
Goodness, another weekend flew by!
We got DD's playroom painted ready to sell but no basement on the new house yet:(
Yesterday was the Manitoba Marathon, this is the third largest marathon in Canada and has about 14,000 runners. It's the first time in a decade that either DH or I weren't running the half or full marathon:( With the excitement of the race we were both missing it. DS ran with his track team from school in the marathon relay. So 5 team members cover the 26.2 miles in turn. He did the fourth section, he did 6.1 miles betwee 50-55 minutes. The Garmin died so he won't know his exact time. Their team finished the whole marathon in 3 hr 35 minutes.
I came home and started month 2 of Insanity. The fit test and the Maximum Interval workout! I couldn't wear my shoes because of the blisters from Friday so I was in barefeet. I didn't realize that one of the blisters broke and I got blood all over the carpet:rolleyes: I finished the workouts sat down to post and starting feeling sick. I think it was a combination of being up super early to take ds to the marathon and then being outside in the heat for a couple of hours combined with lack of water/food and the heavy workout. Here I was hobbling around due to the blisters and feeling nausous on marathon day and I didn't even run! I was having sympathy pain! Had to eat a bagel, drink tons of water and lie down for a hour after my workout!
In the evening dd and I went to see ToyStory 3 while DH and ds saw the A-Team.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, have to run to work, not sure what shoes to wear:confused:
OMG Kim - I can empathise with you on the pain. I have so many shoes that I can only wear for one day and not wear again for a month or so:confused: Hope you found something to wear today:eek: Yes, you must have been channeling the marthoners. Maybe that's why I've been getting lazy lately and not pushing myself. With BB last week 4x I just didn't even try to get in any other w/os. I saw the floods out west and was thinking about you and thought you were safe. How many times do you drive by the site now:p Okay, how did you train DS to start supper:D Careful, he might be starting young with learning to bake brownies so he can perfect them in his college years:p:D:D That was a great time for DS's team. Way to go!
My workout for the weekend (after losing by 1 run on Fri. night) was paint paint and more paint. Spent all day Sat. painting our bedroom at the cottage then we assembled our brand new bed. Almost need a step stool to get up into it though:eek: While I was painting DH took DS to see Toy Storey and they said it was GREAT. I know its getting good reviews. They also came home with foam light sabers and had sword fights all weekend:D Sun I spent the day priming the great room so guess what I'm doing next Sat.!!! We are so close to being done. DH took a mattress and box spring to the dump and we got our new couch and 2 arm chairs delivered. They look great and just need to keep an eye out for some lamps and coffee table. I'll still have to take the doors off all the rooms and paint the inside trim but I'll do that at my leisure:cool:
I've been taking iron pills as apparently I'm anemic. Not a real surprise as sometimes I really lack energy and thought it was always b/c I don't get enough sleep. I think it might be with donating blood every 56 days so I've been told to stop. I have to get to the health food store and pick up some stuff recommended to me that's better than the iron pills as I don't like the side effects. I also being sent for more blood tests so will try to do that on my lunch hour today.
Laurie - what did you get up to this weekend? Another ride in the convertible?:p
Morning Coolers,
No workout for me this weekend, spent all day Saturday pulling weeds/brush from our treeline. I'm planning on putting in ground cover in that area (full of large rocks). Sunday was our rehearsal, so nothing that day either. This morning was Hiit 30/30 and Muscle Max Lower Body Premix. After work Disc 7 Chest, Shoulders, Biceps.
Kim, Sorry to hear about your feet, and not feeling well after your workout. Sounds like your DS did a great job on his portion of the run. ;) My oldest went to see the A-Team, and said it was good. We will be going to see Toy Story also, I just love all the toys! :D
Patricia, My youngest has anemia also. They gave her iron pills, but they don't seem to be affecting her in any way. They might be a very low dose. Sorry to hear about the BB loss, hope your team is able to turn it around. I don't envy you having to paint. Everything looks great when you are finished, but the process takes so dang long. :eek:
Have a wonderful day!
