~~~~Coolers in June~~~
Hope everyone is busy having a great weekend!
We came home early from camping. Camping in a torrential downpour that last 36 hrs is only so much fun:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::confused::confused::confused:
We had an interesting weekend. We arrived at the campground in the rain (after packing up in the rain). Somehow as DH is unhitching the new SUV from the new tent trailer, the trailer rolled forward and the trailer hitch become stuck (and really stuck!) into the SUV bumper leaving a nice little dent.:mad::mad: DH and I tried for a half a hour and didn't have a clue what to do! Then two guys that were camping together walked by with 5 kids and a dog. I asked them if they had any ideas. Between them and DH, an hour later the vehicles were free! I entertained the kids (in the rain)
The trailer was great, nice and cozy, the heater and fridge worked great. We decided to put up the attached sunroom to keep the entrance dry. The storm got really bad during the night (heavy rains and winds) by morning the brand new sunroom was destroyed and blocking the camper door. The central support was twisted and a side support broke in half:confused::mad: I sure hope the warranty covers it. DH will call tomorrow.
It rain all day! We did get a fire going and had some smores. We tried a short hike but there were lakes on the trail. Mostly we sat in the camper: reading, played Scrabble etc. We ended up driving into the city for pizza for supper just to do something. The kids insisted they wanted to sleep in the camper again Sat night but by 7:30 they were bored so we packed up and came up last night. I'm glad we did as there was very high winds all night last night.
Got disc 38 done this morning and just being lazy the rest of the day.
Oh Boy Kim - does not sound like a great christening of the trailer! I'm with you about coming home. What's the point? Hopefully your next trip will be better and that you can get the sunroom fixed easily and at no cost:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Well, we didn't have your downpour but it did rain here today after Sat. being so beautiful. Took DS to the drag races which he really didn't get as he is used to seeing cars driving around in circles. But they had a NASCAR remote control race track that you could drive so he fun doing that along with those blow-up castle that you jump in and go down slides so he was happy.
Lets see - w/o wise I had a good weekend. Fri. was Disc 15A -Bi/Back, Sat. I did CIA - Cardio Combat (what a lot a fun it is doing the combat portion) and today I did Disc 16B - C/S/T My BB game tonight was cancelled due to the wet field which I didn't mind as it was a 9:45pm game.
We have DH's cousin living here now for the summer. We got him a job at the site so everyone just getting used to each other. Hmm, went all out and made a big dinner tonight. The kid ate 2nds. So used to only cooking for 2.5:p I'll have to learn to cook for 4.5:p:rolleyes:
Laurie - I remember from my gym days that it got pretty hot there. I would think working out at home would be cooler for you? At least you could set-up your own fan. I've got a big oscillating stand that's about 4.5 feet high and of course the a/c jacked up:rolleyes:
Kim - I remember you asked about lakes. We live around 2 lakes that have several beaches. I play BB right next to one. Last year it never seemed to get hot enough to go wading after a game but this year I can see where I might be:D
Morning All,
This morning I was tired and didn't want to work out, but while walking the dog I thought why not get a run in since it wasn't beastly hot. Cami was all for it, and even pulled me in a little in our "normal" running route. :D I didn't run very far, but it felt good. :)
Saturday I did Jillian's BFBM, and I must say I really like that workout. Has only two intervals that really make the heart pound. Sunday was a faire day, so no workout.
Kim, Oh that camping trip doesn't sound like it was a good one. We had the high winds, but didn't have the rain. My nose hurt, but not enough for me to actually cry. :) It still hurts when I though the bridge of my nose. This is probaly where my glasses where sitting. I again matched my shirt to my face, so am wearing yellow today! :rolleyes: I don't really think about what I'm wearing, must be a vibe. :eek:
Patricia, I bet that remote control race track was fun for your DS, and of course the castle. The gym isn't to bad, but you sure do sweat, and that isn't bad either. :eek: Feel like I'm getting a good workout, it was almost like Jillians workout. Man do I sweat in that one, now why would that be? :rolleyes:
Have a great day!
Laurie
Kim - good for you on getting your workout in. You almost have me convinced to buy another JM workout. I see it at Walmart lately and I stop and hem and ha and put it back on the shelf.
Thankfully it only rained for a couple hours this afternoon. The sun came out so we got our BB game in - won but almost lost it in the final inning:mad: I`ve been in a real slump hitting so I not much running for me tonight so I came home and did IMAX 2 entirely - that may be the 1st time I completed it entirely :D then I did STS Ab Circuit - med ball with out the partner.
Tomorrow is BB for DS then I should get Disc 17B - legs in. Hopefully I won`t regret doing IMAX 2:eek:
Kim - hope you recovered now from your soggy weekend.
Morning All,
Guess this will be our last day in June! This morning was 1:1 Plyo Legs. Tony sure takes a lot of breaks in this one, but it really gives the legs a good burn. :) Have a hair appointment tonight, so don't think I will be attempting anything later tonight. Would like to get in StretchX or Yoga though.
Patricia, Congrats on the win! I have not done an intense Cathe workout for quite a while, just been Jillian, Barry, and Cindy. And I thought the Plyo work today was going to have me on my butt. But I kept up with Tony, and I guess I have to credit these instructors on helping me keep my endurance up. ;) I have to stay away from step workouts, because my knee just can't take the twisting. :(
Have a great day!
Laurie
Just finished disc 31, 90% of 1rm, that was hard! (but kind of boring) Starting the second last week of STS. I've really enjoyed it but have to admit that it's hard to head to the basement for a 1 hr really intense chest/back workout on a beautiful summer day. I'm ready to finish up and just do some fun summer stuff.
The kids finished school today!:D:D I have the rest of the week off. Tomorrow is a holiday for Canada Day and I don't work Friday so I took Thursday off to give me the week. DH has tomorrow off but works Thurs/Friday. The kids and I will hang out for the week and then go to the cottage on Friday but have to be home early Sunday as we have tickets to the Jonas brothers;);)
Patricia The camper place didn't promise anything but DH is taking it in on Thursday and they'll have a look at it. That should be interesting having a young person spending the summer. Is he working with you? How nice to have lakes right in the city!
Laurie I always enjoy PlyoX when I did P90X but only have done it a few times since. DH is really enjoying Cathe's pylo workouts. Good for Cami for helping you get a workout in.;) What are your girls doing for the summer?
