~~~~Coolers in June~~~
Morning All,
This morning I worked out with Tony, and did IntervalX Plus. This is one of the better workouts in the Plus collection. :)
Patricia, How nice of your co-worker to bring the lobster. I'm like Kim, not a big fan. Like crab legs much better. :) Congrats on the win, and getting home during the game. Always liked hitting that base the most! :) Don't worry I am still getting assistance with my pull-up! :eek:
Kim, Almost done with those lessons.:eek: I didn't sign my youngest up for a dance class that they will be holding in June. :eek: Just didn't want to. Yes I did get to the gym, and spent some time on the bike. It was a nice change of pace. I just used one of the programs on the bike. :)
Tonight DH and I will be going to our friends house for dinner. Should be a fun time, we have not seen them for quite some time.
Have a great day!
Laurie
Happy Thursday Morning Coolers
Well, we lost our BB last night - in the last inning no less. Oh well, fun game when its close.
Took DS for a bike ride to his new school in Sept. Trying to get him used to the idea of going there so no surprises:) I left work early as I had carpet cleaners coming and of course they were 1hr LATE:mad:. My boss rolled his eyes when I told him why I had to leave early as it was. :rolleyes:
Tonight I'm 5-pin bowling for charity through work with some co-workers but I don't think I'll consider that my workout. Will see if I can fit a w/o in when I get home afterwards. Some sort of cardio most likely.
Laurie - did you have fun at dinner last night? What did they serve you? It was nice being home early as I started the BBQ in time for DH to do the cooking. We sat outside on the back porch to eat it was such a nice night.
Have a great day
Morning All,
Today Billy and I worked out together with TaeBo Advanced Live #6. Had a little bit of fear in me when over half way through the workout the VHS tape froze! :eek: I popped it out and put it back in, and it seemed to work ok. Guess DH is going to be making those copies real soon! :)
Patricia, We had a great time last night, and didn't get home until after midnight. They served Indian food, and it was delish! I think this was the first time DH has had Indian. Our friend works for 24hr Fitness, and he gave my DH and old style bodybug. I'm hoping this will help DH with his weight loss goals. He said that he has some others coming back to him that where defective, but he thinks he can fix them. I might be getting one too. :) We also went for a long walk with them, and looked at some really cool houses. They live about 4 blocks from the lake, so these houses have like 6 bedrooms in them. :eek: Doesn't it always seem that when someone is suppose to work at your house they are late. :rolleyes:
Have a great day!
Laurie
Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. Like is still crazy after this weekend it should slow down for the summer. Wednesday I did disc 26 in the morning before work and then we went to the football game in the evening. We have season tickets to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this year.:cool::cool::cool:
Yesterday I got Power Max and tons of weeding in the garden done!! Today the plan is for squat rack legs (using the weighted vest/barbell) and then I'm done week 1 of Meso 3!!:D:D:D
DD is skipping school today for her piano exam, she was up at 7:15 and practicing already. She's kind of nervous. Afterwards we're going for lunch and a build a bear trip! I figure how much work are they doing in school on their second last Friday afternoon and she deserves a celebration of all her hard work. She should get to school for the last couple of hours.
After lunchwe will pick up DH's race packet for the marathon on Sunday since we're on that side of town. I got the instructions for volunteering at the water station. We have to be there at 6:30 in the morning:confused::confused:
Patricai I meant to say I could do one chin up. When I was doing P90X I got to the point I could do 3 then none and now after STS I can do 1:(:( Ds loves to tease me about them. Showing me how easy they are.
Laurie You seem to do the TaeBo workouts quite a bit. So how do they compare to a cathe workout?? What's the bodybug?? Sounds like a nice dinner with friends! Who needs a 6 bedroom home??
Patricia So are you finally getting some nice weather?? It's been very hot and sunny here this week! It's going to be hot for the race on the weekend. The problem is that everyone has been training in such a cold spring and it's only got hot this last week so the newspaper is warning everyone to slow down a bit. It's a big race, about 16, 000 runners.
I was looking at the vidoe for the road trip made me more jealous!!! When do you go? How long are you staying???
Got to go help dd with some last minute practicing.
Kim
Morning Coolers
No w/o for me last night. It was 9:30 b/4 I got home and after a couple Coronas earlier in the evening lifting weights or stepping just wasn't happening:rolleyes: Had a fun time though. Great steak and potato dinner and then 1.5 games of 5 pin bowling. I bowled 151 - the highest on my lane. It was for charity for "slightly" handicapped people. I would call them functioning handicapped - not quite hold down a job. They were fun to play with. One of the guys brought his own ball and said I could use it but would hold onto it between turns:) There was a silent auction also. Lost out on a really nice blanket box but won a visor and t-shirt.
So I have to get in Disc 15B - Bis/back tonight then I'm down M2 - Wk1. We're going to the cottage early tomorrow and will probably stay the night at my parents and back to the cottage on Sun. It's going to be a beautiful weekend finally:cool:
Kim - good for you getting your w/o in early. I'm not sure if I could lift heavy that early:D Do you find the FB games go by fast? I've never been interested in watching the Argos b/c a 1hr game takes like 3. I never understood that with FB. Today sounds like a fun day with plenty of errands. I'm sure DH will be glad when Sun is over with?? No rest for the wicked:D:D 6 weeks to go to the RT. Think Aug. long weekend. I'm just going from the Fri - Sun and will have the holiday Mon to recover!:eek::cool:
Laurie - that walk after dinner sounds nice. So much better than just sitting and watching the telly afterwards. Its fun walking around neighbourhoods, especially to get ideas. I agree with Kim - who needs 6 bedrooms? Funny how things are these days. With 7 people in a bungalow we only had 3 bedrooms + 1 built in the basement + 1.5 baths. Now a days it seems everyone has to have their own bedrooms and extra baths:confused: We played outside so didn't need a big house like today.
Okay, best get back to work.
Morning All,
Tired this morning because of T-Storm/Tornado Warning/Power outage! :confused: The storm started as we where going to bed, and the power went out around 1am. DH was wise enought to set the alarm on his cell phone, so at least i didn't oversleep. I did get my butt out of bed and did KCM's 30MTF Kickbox #1, and Ab Ripper 200. Still working on Kelly's cueing, but I'm getting better. I'm only working a half day today, and when I get home I want to get in GS Legs Timesaver #1, and maybe some add on from BBC.
Tonight we are going to a NASCAR Truck series race, and tomorrow night is the Nationwide Car race. Should be a fun time, but I'm hoping that the rain stays away.
Kim, I'm sure your DD will do a great job, and you are right they don't do much in school when it is winding down. :) So a celebration is in order. :) Hope the heat isn't to bad for your DH on Sunday. Did a 5K like that last year. All my running was in the cool weather, and then the day of the race it was super humid. :( The TaeBo workouts are more intermediate if you compare it to KPC. Some of his workouts (like the Ripped series), are on par with hers. Some people don't like the constant counting to 8, but I just tune it out. :) I'm really good at that. :) The bodybugg is a device that is strapped to your bicep and it records you expenditure during the day. You can download the information online, and you record what you eat during the day. Our friend set DH up to eat around 2000 calories, and expend 2500 calories. They where using them on The Biggest Loser this year.
Patricia, Sounds like a fun time with bowling, and what a great score. ;) I was wondering what to do with all those bedrooms also. I grew up just about like you, with 9 people / 3 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / no AC. We managed to grow up just fine. :eek: I have been pushing my DD's outside more this year. It is hard when I'm not home during the day. Oldest went for a run yesterday, and youngest rides around on her bike with some friends in the neighborhood. This morning the cable was off, so no watching that TV today! :rolleyes: So far this year we have not turned on the AC, just seeing how long we can take it! It hasn't been a problem until this week.
Have a great day!
Laurie
Just finished up Disc 15B - Bi/Back and then wanted some light cardio and had to try my new DVD package that came in the mail to day. I bought Powerfit - its a 5 day 20 min split workout using a resistance band. Its a bit beginnerish but I think you can up the intensity and its always good to have something for light days. It worked well to do a light floor cardio after an 1hr of lifting.:) I also wanted it for travel or at the cottage.
Laurie - wow, sounds like you quite a night last night. At least the power went out at bed time. The power goes out here a lot - flickers so I've gotten used to having batteries in the alarm clocks:p Kelly is coming out with a new w/o. Have you seen her clip that she posted on her site of the practice class? NASCAR - my DH would be jealous. Oh well, he is going to some race this fall so I'm won't worry about that:cool: Oh, the AC came on officially when I got home today:p:p Finally summer is here:):)
Kim -did you get all your errands done? Hope tomorrow is a more relaxing day. How did DD do at her piano?
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Good morning! We have a beautiful hot weekend here! Today will be a fun day with hair colour/cut this morning for me, this afternoon we're going to the EX (a fair with rides/midway) this evening is dinner/swim at my sister's. Then early to bed as we have to be up so early for the marathon tomorrow. Today is my rest day and I need it after the squat rack workout yesterday. I just used the weighted vest/dumbbells but I feel it!
DH is still complaining about DOMS after doing the pylo workout on Monday, he says if does poorly on his race that he's blaming it on Cathe!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:
DD is glad to be done her piano exam. Parents aren't allowed in the room but she said it went well. It's very short. Cute story: the little boy that came out of the exam room before her, came running into the waiting room yelling " I survived, I survived". They get their exam marks in a couple of weeks.
Patricia Glad that the weather is finally warming up for you! I find the FB games are fun but 2 or 3 a year enough. We got free season tickets with the purchase of our camper this year. There is only 2 tickets so probably ds and DH will go mostly. There was 4 tickets for the preseason game so that's why we all went. We are going to Regina for the Labour Day as my cousin is getting married on the Saturday and so we got a group together for the SUnday game in Regina. The Labour Day classic between Regina and Wpg is huge! Sells out within in one hour! We have a group of 59 people going including the bride and groom. The bride is from Japan and has never seen fb before. Should be fun with our group being a mixture of people from Wpg and Regina and lots of family we don't get to see often.
Laurie Sounds like you have a busy fun weekend plan as well! My ds lives outside, I have to go track him down often. He loves biking and playing sports with his buddy. I know so many people that have to kick their young sons off their video games to go outside but ds would rather be outside. DD prefers to stay in and do crafts, read, play Barbies but at least she's not watching tv/
Have a great weekend!
Kim
Hope everyone is well and just too busy with fun summer stuff to post!
DS and I had fun manning the water station (dd ditched us and slept over at her cousins, my sister's place and spent the weekend playing in the pool:rolleyes:). It was crazy hard working the water station. It was so busy that we could barely keep up and almost ran out of water. We pulled some people out for a Sunday morning walk in to help us for awhile.:rolleyes: Can't really complain though we when looked at the runners.
DH passed our station at 12.5 miles at 1:30 hrs and he looked/felt great. His Boston time of 3:20 looked in his reach. Then the heat started taking it's toll. He said by mile 16 he felt sick and by mile 20 he was seriously considering withdrawing but he finished it in 3:54. His slowest time ever but he finished! Quite a few full marathoners quit because of the heat, they closed the course early.
The winner was a runner from Kenya that flew in and ds is quite proud that he gave him water at mile 12.5.:D:D
I did do disc 28 last night before relaxing for the rest of the day. I made DH a nice dinner for Father's Day but both kids were out so we celebrated alone.
Off to work and then the plan is for MIC tonight. :D
Good Monday Morning Coolers
What a wet wet wet Saturday we had. Got wet in the evening waiting for DH to bail the boat out so we could go out for dinner and down to my parents to spend the night. Sunday though was nice and warm and sunny so all is good. I didn't do much work this weekend but for some reason that's more tiring then doing actual physical labour so no w/o for me Sun. evening. I intended to go to bed early but picked up a book and it was 1:30am before I closed my eyes.:rolleyes::eek: No excuses tonight though. Have to get Disc 16B - C/S/T in tonight.
Kim - sounds like you worked hard at the water station but lots of fun though I'm sure. High Five to your DH for sticking with it. Your DD is no fool. Sounds like she knew where to be this weekend:D Did you have fun at the EX?
Morning All,
This morning has been 4DS Kickbox cardio only premix. Tonight is church / Dog grooming. So hope to get in BM2 Upper Body, KM Leg Drills and BBC Code Red tonight.
Friday night they cancelled the truck race because of weather. We where standing in one of the buildings, because of T-Storm / Funnel Cloud. Sound familiar. Can't wait for June to end. :D Boy did we get the water though. My boss is still bailing his basement out.
Saturday we where at the truck race at 12:30. I put sunscreen on, but I must have sweat it off, because I burnt my legs. :( The truck race was ok, then we went home for a few hours, and headed back to the track for the car race. That one was a very good race, and I like the guy who won. :) I did manage to get a workout in the morning BBC Extreme 1000, and BBC Belly Blaster.
Sunday was a faire day, so no workout. Only two more rehersals to go. :eek:
Patricia, We ended up starting up the AC on Friday, it was just to humid in the house. Yes I have looked at the new workouts that Kelly is putting out, and I'm thinking about it. Might wait for reviews though. Sounds like the powerfit might be good for add-ons too? You got the lovely rain too I see.
Kim, Did I ever tell you that my youngest is named Kim? Or should I say Kimberly. She now goes by Kim, so that is what I call her anyway, she is passed the Kimmy stage. You water station was a busy, and how cool that your DS got to hand that water to the winner! :) Something he can talk about for a long time to come. :) Congrats to your DS for finishing the race, bet he is still recouping today! The heat can really take it out of you. LOL about your DD ditching you! Have to say, she probably had a ton of fun. ;)
Have a great day!
Laurie
Morning All,
My workout was Shape Redefining workout #1. I was so so on this one. I also did BBC Mission Specialist Beginnger Lower, which I followed the advanced person on. Will get something else in after work.
Took Cami to get groomed last night, and the young lady didn't want to put a muzzle on her even though I told her she doesn't like to get groomed. Well Cami snapped at her when she tried to brush her. Before that we had heard how she was the only person there, and how busy she was, and that she was called in 30 minutes early, and that she didn't get her lunch break. I DON'T CARE!!!! :mad: Your problem is not my problem! :mad: And do you know I heard all of this twice! :rolleyes: Maybe next time listen to me when I tell you she needs to be muzzled! I know my dog! :eek: Rant over! But Cami has to go back today (free of charge, to get her nails ground and brushed out!) Think she will muzzle her this time? :confused:
Hope both of you are doing well,
Laurie
Boy Laurie - I hope your day goes better today:confused: Yeah, I wonder sometimes why people don't listen. I really don't talk just to waste my breathe either. :eek: Isn't it funny how rude people are to those paying? I would NEVER be rude to my Clients but I get it all the time from my Subtrades. They don't get that the more rude they are to the bottom of the payment pile they go:D Well, you ended up having a busy day on Sat. I might not be seeing NASCAR this weekend, but my company has sponsored the King of the Hill Dragway which I have tickets for. DH is working at the cottage all weekend so it'll just be me and DS spending a weekend of car racing.:cool:
Last night I did Disc 16A - C/S/T - really feeling it in my chest today and have to work at keeping my shoulders back. The tricep portion was a real killer for me. I had to go down in weight. Plus who knew double arm lateral raises are much harder then singels? No way could I lift what the w/o card said:confused:
Tonight is BB for DS then home to get in some sort of cardio. Boy, it has gotten hot hot hot here. FINALLY.:)
HOT HOT HOT - I helped "coach" at T-ball tonight so couldn't sit in the shade like the rest of the parents. As soon as I got home I cranked "down" the AC:rolleyes::eek:
Anyhow, just completed LIC - cardio blast timesaver and off to replenish with some H2O.
Did plyo (disc 29) with ds tonight then spent hours weeding the garden. I'm so confused as to what is a weed and what is a plant:eek::eek: Picked some radishes though.
Laurie, I didn't know that your youngest was Kimberly. You don't see it much in the younger generation. Hope Cami had a better day today:D
Patrica So are you sleeping in the cottage yet or just going for the day?
Cardio yesterday was 4DS kickbox and core. Nice having a lighter workout. Today is a super busy day at work, then a get together for the daycare and I have to try and get disc 30 in. I just remember that ds wanted me to bake brownies for his class party tomorrow and I don't have eggs. Going to be a busy evening!
My coworker has been confirmed to have H1N1, she sits right close to me! She has been off work almost two weeks and came back Monday and she was feeling much better but then her lab work came in and she has been sent home for another 2 weeks. The hospital where I work is having lots of problems with this virus, presently 35 people on ventilators and 2 deaths. Hope it's under control soon!
Kim
OMG Kim - I can see why you're worried. I really hadn't been following it in the media and didn't realise it still was a problem until I saw that a young 6 yr old died from it yesterday:confused: I guess I felt we were insulated from it for some reason. I would suggest maybe not get run down from your w/os so if anything you're immune system is nice and strong. Are you busy javexing her work area???
We have to get together at our Daycare today too! They do a graduation ceremony for the kids going to kindergarten with juice and cookies. Tonight it t-ball for DS and BB for me too - so a busy night.
LOL about the weeds. I'm sure I've pulled out some plants in the past too!
Last night DH went out fishing with co-workers but didn't catch anything:( I took DS to the beach as its so hot now. I think that will become our 2nd home away for home if it stays this hot.
Last night I did Disc 17A - Legs and STS AC - weighted ball w/o. (minus the partner section:p)
DH is drivng down to the cottage late tonight and spending a long weekend working at it. I'm not ready to spend the night there yet but probably the following weekend we should be able to start sleeping there as a family.
I can't decide if I take DH to the races this weekend or our company picnic at Canada's Wonderland. A co-worker can't go so I can have his tickets but I don't want to take DS by myself so just sent an email off to my sister to see if she wanted to come. It would mean driving down to T.O. Fri. night and staying the weekend at my sisters. Decisions, decisions.
Laurie - did the followup doggie appt go okay?
Morning All,
Yesterday DH, youngest and I went down to the faire to finish the framework for a tent. Well one of those accidents happened when DH thought I had the board, and I thought DH had the board. Ended up with me getting a bruised nose, I don't think it is broken (it didn't hurt ;)). I think I have the bruise, because it hit my glasses. The nose piece on the glasses caused the bruise. Anyway I look like I took a punch to the nose. :eek: I did get a workout in yesterday morning of JM's NMTZ and BBC Code Red. This morning was GS Legs Timesaver #1 and BBC MS Beg Abs.
Patricia, The doggie situation was better the next day, but of course she was "talking" like GDS's usually do. Her talking is so loud though. :rolleyes: I agree with you on the hot hot hot. After we got home yesterday I headed for the shower, and put my pj's on at 7pm. :eek: Of course I was in bed way early to, the weather just saps your energy.
Kim, What a situation at work for you. They say that flu is suppose to get worse by the fall, and of course that is when all the kids go back to school. :( Oh I just love radishes, but I'm the only one in the family who does. Must be from all those years of having a garden when I was young. We used to pick green beans every other day, and my mom was canning away. Her pickles where the best! :)
Have a great day!
Laurie
Morning All,
Hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying the weather. Or maybe not! :eek: This morning was Results 10 Days Lower, and BBC MS Lower Advanced. Might get a workout in after work, just depends on how I feel after walking the dog. When it is hot, I just get back home and sit in the AC! Why don't I attempt to go in the cool basement to workout! :eek:
Have a great day!
Laurie
So we're going camping to try out our new camper so of course after 2 weeks of super hot weather it's going to pour with severe thunderstorms all weekend:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: The kids are super excited and still want to go, so we're just going to a provincial park about 1/2 dr outside the city so will bring lots of board games/books. I'm spending lots of time trying to get organzied being the first time. We drove it up to my mom's cottage on the long weekend but just for extra sleeping space didn't use the appliances, cook in it etc.
Went to watch dd in her school play this morning, charlotte's Web, very cute. After today the kids just have Tuesday morning mostly it's just a party day today and then going in to say goodbye on Tuesday.
I got 4DS HIS cardio only and STS stability ball abs done this morning.
Laurie OMG on the bruised nose! It didn't hurt at all? So your getting some heat now?? I think the heat just tires you out more and then you don't feeling like working out. Do you have a garden?
Patricia Have fun at the graduation! Did you cry?? I always cry at those things. Do you have a beach right by where you live? Sounds like some fun options for the weekend while your DH is busy working away:p
Be back Sunday evening!
