~~~~Coolers in June~~~
How scary Laurie! Glad that everyone is okay! Sorry that your dd didn't have a good experience with the track meet. Is that it for this year??
Patricia That's how I got my Christi Taylor's workout too, when CK Sales was selling out. I have a few other things that I haven't every used. I think next year, dd well just do fun songs and not study for an exam. She's looking forward to learning some Jonas brothers songs and some Disney songs.
I haven't been running that much as I decided I was only going to run the police half so no need to train and I'm kind of bored with running. On the tm I use music or a cardio coach but I rarely run outside on my own anymore just with friends. None of my friends are racing this year so we agree to run on Sunday mornings just for fun/exercise but we've cancelled as much as we have run.:rolleyes:Without the race as a commitment it's easy to cancel.
I have 4 12 year old boys watching tv in the room with me. Big hockey night on tv as our city team Manitoba Moose are playing the Hershey Bears for the Calder Cup. :D:DOn the other channel is the NHL playoffs.
Evening All
Did some window shopping at Sporting Life while down in T.O. Now I know where I'm going to buy some w/o clothes for the RT.:D I need some new ones but want to wait about another month in case I go down a size. Got to the hotel around 8ish and immediately did my w/o so I could rest and relax and enjoy time to myself. I did Power Push fr PY then my neck and shoulder drills.
I was suppose to have BB tonight but the fields are closed due to too much rain AGAIN grrr:mad: When will summer arrive? On the bright side then I did Disc #14 Legs and since its a shorter w/o I guilted myself into trying one of the 19min abs w/os. I've been avoiding the Weights & Plates one but quite enjoyed it. Well especially since I only did the 1st 1/2 which was the weights section. This routine lends itself well to dividing up. Next time I'll attempt the plates:D
Laurie - good to know your DDs know to get into the basement. Hey, I never thought of using 30D as a WU. Good idea.
Kim - LOL, good to see you have your priorities straight for what hockey to watch.:p Hey, are the Hershey Bears from Mississauga? Hope your team wins.
Off to look at the new look of Cathenation along with her Egg announcement.
Good for you for working out while away!
It's Hershey Pennsylvania. The Manitoba Moose won so they're coming back to Winnipeg! Hershey 3 and Moose 2 games, in the best of 7. The NHL goes on to another game as well! Exciting hockey night! Kim
Morning All,
Today I have done Results 10 Days Lower, and BBC Booty Camp. When I get home I would like to do P90X legs only, and Ab Ripper 200. That is if I don't get side tracked by housework like last night. :(
Kim, Yes my DD is all done with the track season, and I must say I'm so glad. She will be getting her drivers liscense, so I will not be running to the school after work next year. ;) Isn't it funny how we can be in the mood for running or not. I really don't run that much anymore. I go in spurts. I think it is much more fun to watch sports in a group, those boys probably had a great time. :D
Patricia, WTG on getting a workout in. I thought of the Shred workouts, because of CTX and 4DS. Cathe does the cardio before weights, and I though well why not the shred. I just used 3# weights, and got in a little more cardio in my day. :D
Laurie
Just completed the Step & Hi-Lo premix from SJP. What a fun w/o and sure is harder w/o the weight to break it up.:D
Pretty quiet day around here, though DS thought it was okay to pee on the front lawn. He friend was with him and came around the back of the house where I was pulling dandelions (still!). So that put an end to the evening right quick! Of course a neighbour driving by saw it! :( Oh well, boys will be boys!
Laurie - ohh, a new driver in the house next year. It must be both exciting but scary at the same time. I remember Mom teaching us to parallel park in our driveway. Both my parents encouraged all us kids to get our license as soon as we turned 16. I don't understand the kids these days - I so wanted the freedom of my license!:p
Kim - hope all is well with you. Is your recovery week over now?
Morning All,
Last night I changed my mind on the leg workout, so I did BBC 5-Day Academy Legs & Butt weights. Also did Ab Ripper 200. This morning I got my sore butt out of bed early (doggie day), and did Results 10 Day Upper / BBC MS Lower Advanced. Right now I have to adjust my butt every once in a while because it hurts to sit in one position to long. :D
Patricia, LOL about your DS and his adventure in peeing! My brother taught my 2yr old nephew how to pee in the woods when we where up at the cabin for Memorial Day. He was so proud! :D My Dad made sure all of us had our drivers liscenses also. My DM is unable to drive, and none of us live close to them. If anything happens to my Dad, she is pretty much confined to the house or having to walk. :(
Kim, Hope you and your family are doing well. :)
Have a great day!
Laurie
Well my toes are a nice fuschia and my hands are a nice pink. Of course lets hope I don't ruin my nailes playing BB at 9:45 tonight:confused: Today will be my active rest day, but lets hope I do a lot of running around the bases.
Laurie - LOL about your Butt DOMS:D I'm feeling it in my quads today. Lets hope I can run tonight. I thought about getting Disc 15 - arms in tonight as there would be just enough time but then I worried any fatigue in my arms would slow me down:p
Kim - will you be watching the Stanely Cup finals tomorrow?
Have a nice night all.
How come my recovery weeks always become lie on the couch and do nothing weeks:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Tomorrow I start Meso 3 and I'm ready for it!
Last night we went out for supper and when we pulled onto our street, there was 5 kids already playing street hockey in front of our house. They hang out here even when we're not home:rolleyes: I really don't mind, they're good kids and I like knowing where ds is. They played street hockey for 3 hours last night!
Patricia, tomorrow is Game 7 of the NHL and Game 6 of the AHL. We will watch the Manitoba Moose but will switch channels between periods:p We have tickets to Game 7 on Sunday, of course, hoping that there will be a Game 7.
Laurie I'm sure your daughter is very excited about the driving! When does she take her test??? Good for you for working out even though you were already sore!
I'm going to try watching the new Law & Order:UK tonight. See if I can understand what they're saying. Patricia, you manage to watch Coronation Street, I have such a hard time following British shows.
Ohhh, I didn't know there was a new Law & Order. Thanks for letting me know Kim. I'll be sure to watch it tonight too!
We lost at BB last night by 1 run. It was a fun/tense game as we kept taking the lead then losing it:confused:
Not sure what my plans are for the weekend yet. DH is working at the cottage so just DS and me. Will probably go to the waterfront and let him ride the train and carousel and playon the jungle gym. We're finally getting into the 20s here temp. wise:)
I have Disc 15A tonight then hopefully some sort of step w/o on Sat.
Have a great weekend all.
Morning All,
This mornings workout was TaeBo Advanced Live #5. I have not done these workouts in a while, and I will have to put a note on this tape. ALL lower body! Oh my poor butt! :eek: It would have been funny to watch me this morning, but I got through the whole workout. :D No lower body work tomorrow!!!
Patricia, Sounds like a fun game, did your nails survive? ;) You where smart to not tax your upper body. I did that once and I was only hitting infield. :(
Kim, I agree with you on having the kids playing by your house. My youngest goes to the other girls houses, and I am constantly looking out the window. Of course when I see her ride by on her bike, everything is ok until about an hour later. :confused: Oldest DD has to get in all the required hours of driving in, so I'm not sure when that will be. :) Sometimes I have a hard time understanding what the Brits say too. I just love their sense of humor though. :)
Have a great day!
Laurie
Good Sunny Sat a.m. Coolers
Well I did get my w/o in last night but had to use Disc 18 as when I tried getting Disc 15 out of the case I cracked it:confused: Anyhow, the discs were similar enough that using the w/o card for Disc 15 I was able to follow along while using Disc 18. So will have to send an email to Cathe's support for a replacement.
Been up and out for breakfast. DH's truck wasn't sounding healthy this a.m. so he has taken my car for the weekend. I'm just waiting for the car rental place to open up so I'm not stranded at home all weekend.:rolleyes: I was just not in the mood to make a sudden change of plans to go to the cottage for the weekend with him.
The Shriners are having a parade here this afternoon so will take DS to see it.
Laurie - enjoy a relaxing day hopefully today and rest those legs.:D:D My nails survived BB. I get very pale pinks on my hands so that its not obvious if they show wear right away:) DS wants to know why my toes and hands don't match though:rolleyes:
Kim - Meso 3 today - so exciting. I'm already wondering about only doing 4 weeks of M2 to accelerate this rotation. Partly b/c of my vacation but wow, 6 months is still looking long even 1/3rd of the way through:confused:
Take care
Did the first disc of Meso 3. It's definitely a little more boring, more like S&H but I sure feel it! We're finally getting some nice weather here so dd and I are heading out to join my mom at her cottage for one night. I'm just waiting for her to finish practicing piano then I'll pack and we're off. The boys have to stay here as DH is off doing a 16 mile run and then ds has a hockey game this evening but they might come out afterwards.
Wow Patricia, you're having a eventful morning already! Two mishaps with the car and the disc!:(:( Hope the day improves for you! I can see shortening the rotation up especially during the summer months.
Laurie What have you been doing to your poor butt?? Time to work the upper body this weekend!
Just completed Disc 13B - C/S/T. I have BB later tonight as long as it doesn RAIN (again - what else is new):confused:
Spent several hours yesterday pulling dandelions and finished up today with another hour. I think I'm done except for some maintenance. THANKFULLY. Now just have to fill all the holes in our lawn and seed.
Took DS to a Shriners parade yesterday. He enjoyed it until the pirate float that shot off cannons. It was LOUD. While waiting for the parade we saw a car accident too so lots of excitement yesterday.
Kim - I'm almost in shorts here. Wearing capris the last few days and got some nice sun on my arms yesterday. Maybe summer is finally here (if it would just stop raining). We need the heat to get rid of the black flies. Did you have fun at the cottage?
I have to return our rental later today. They only had a p/u truck and DS will not be happy when I return it. He's been playing in it all weekend:)
Off to find some water, I'm thirsty.
Patricia, we had beautiful weather here this weekend. I have a bit of a sunburn even with sunscreen on. We had a nice time at the cottage, we did lots of boating, lying on the beach, bonfires, ATV. I got stopped by the RCMP, he didn't think that carrying 2 kids and inner tubes on a ATV was a good idea:rolleyes: (also no helmets:eek:) We were only going a block to the beach, I got off with a warning. He said the ticket would have been $1500:eek::eek: No swimmng as the lake is like ice after this cold spring! The kids went in for a minute.
We watched that movie "New in Town" with Renee Zwelleger (?sp) and Harry Connick, Jr. We wanted to see it as it was filmed in Winnipeg. The movied was ok but the interview with the actors after was hilarious! All 8 of us were roaring with laughter. Harry is from New Orleans and had never been to a cold climate before. There was a little exaggeration going on as he said that it was -56 when they were filming:rolleyes::rolleyes: The factory in the movie is DH's old workplace so it was neat to see. We recognized a few local landmarks.
Morning All,
Today my workout was BBC Fat Blaster Upper Body, and KCM's 30 Min to Fitness Bootcamp #1. Church tonight so don't know if I will get anything in as far as workouts. I still have to get used to Kelly's workout, but it was a fast 30 min. I couldn't believe it was over with so quickly! :D
Patricia, Sounds like a fun time at the Shriners parade. Glad you are finally done with the weed pulling. :) I was wearing carpis and a sleeveless top yesterday. It has finally gotten warm here also. I put sunscreen on, and of course missed one very small area. I can deal with that! :)
Kim, That is one hefty fine you could have gotten.:eek: Sorry to hear that movie was not so great. :( We went to see UP on Friday, and I think that movie has to be Pixars best! I have not laughed so hard while watching a movie. Now when I look at my dog I almost feel I know what she is saying.
Have a great day!
Laurie
Well, just finished up Disc 14B - Legs. Sure is hard to hold the weights right after doing a shoulder w/o the night b/4. Does anyone else find that? Just in trying to keep your shoulders down and back while doing squats or deadlifts. I also did my neck drills and a good long stretch.
I have BB for the next 2 nights so wanted to get the legs down and out of the way for the week. I didn't do much running Sunday night but hopefully the next 2 games will be psuedo HIIT running around the bases:D Oh, we won last night :D
Brought home leftover pasta salad from work that was brought in at lunch. Also a good thing when you don't have to cook:) DH spent the evening filling all the wholes in the lawn then seeding so I started my spring window cleaning. DS was out helping DH until he saw me. Now I remember why we hired cleaners. He wants to help but just makes more of a mess. Oh well.
Kim - sounds like a wonderful weekend, well even with the near miss of the ticket. You must have enamored the cop with your buff arms from STS:D :p Heck, only another woman would understand how efficient you were trying to be and lugging everything at once! I remember seeing the promo for that movie. I'll be sure to rent it as I like Renee and make sure I see the interviews.
Laurie - Sat was beautiful here and I should have worn a tank top. I know have a farmer tan on my arms:eek: But when I looked at the long-range forecast I don't think it'll matter. We're staying below 20 frequently for the next 2 weeks. GRRRRRRRRR We took DS to see UP last weekend. I knew it was a bit too mature yet for him so I only saw 1/2 of it. I had to entertain DS in the arcade as he got scared. DH of course stayed to finish watching the movie. I'll have to rent it to find out the ending but it was really good. I loved the little boy scout character. I missed who did the voices. Was the old man Ed Asner by any chance?
See you tomorrow
Morning All,
Another beautiful morning around here, I didn't have to wear a jacket to work. Also was able to wear shorts/sweat shirt on my morning walk. Maybe, just maybe the summer weather is headed our way at last. :) Anyway I was having a fun time with Barry & Cindy this morning. BBC Fat Blaster Lower Body, Booty Camp and Belly Blaster where my workouts so far. Will probably get in something later today, and it just might be at the gym. Can finally just stop by after work again. :)
Patricia, WTG getting that lower body work done before you will be running around those bases! ;) Of course you where not a boy scout, but it seems that you are always prepared! :D LOL Yes the old mans voice in the movie was Ed Asner. He has been doing a lot of acting lately. I understand how it is when the young ones want to help out. :) Of course they are only interested for a short while (enought to make a mess though! :D).
Have a great day!
Laurie
I'm sitting here after having a most DELICIOUS treat for lunch today. Lobster! A co-worker was in New Brunswick on the weekend and brought back 4 lobsters for the office. He cooked them last night and kept them on ice for today. Yum yum. Life sure is tough!
Have BB tonight so no workout unless I don't do much running:rolleyes::eek:
Laurie - finally warm enough I wore a skirt today! What a beautiful day we're having here and I didn't care about showing off my bruises on my shins from BB. Have fun at the gym tonight.
Waving hi Kim
Took dd to her last piano class:D:D:D:D Her exam is on Friday and then we're done! The piano year just goes forever (Sept-June) and all the practicing.:confused:
Just finished LIC cardio premix and the STS yoga abs. Good workout!
Paticia, I'm glad your finally getting some nice weather! I'm not crazy about lobster, how nice of your coworker! We had some yummy cake for somebody's birthday today at lunch. I find the same thing with the lower body weights! I'm looking forward to trying the first shoulers/bi/tri workout for Meso 3 tomorrow. I much prefer working those muscles hard then chest/back. I'm happy to report that I can not do an unassisted chinup. Even though ds calls it a nose up:rolleyes:
Laurie I didn't realize that you had such a cold spring as well! We finally got some nice weather also! I would like to take dd to see "UP" sometime soon. Did you get to the gym??
Good Late Evening Coolers
We won at BB (yeah) and I even got home once but my batting has just s**ked the last few nights. Since I only did a bit of running I thought I'd better get some more cardio in so I just did Step Blast - combos 1-3, then wanted to give STS Abs weight and plates another try. Did a fairly reasonable job at the weight section and made a good attempt at the plate section. Not as scary as I thought it would be but still hard on the wrist and shoulders.
Kim - so you will have some peace and quiet in the house from piano for the summer?? I almost reached for LIC tonight too but want to get the Step Blast combos down so I can attempt the Challenge:p Did you mean you can now do 1 unassisted or are you making me feel good by saying you can't b/c I know I CAN'T:rolleyes:
Nighty night.
