~~~~Coolers in July~~~
Evening Coolers
I am TIRED:eek: 2 solid days of unpacking. Most of it is done and now I've started on my w/o room. (waited to the last for that as I didn't figure it was a priority:D:D) My sister is coming over to help tomorrow too.
We went to a BBQ this evening too. It really made me slow down and relax as I'm like the Energizer Bunny. I won't finish until it's all done (mainly b/c once I stop I have a hard time starting back up again).
Kim - Looks like there is still some forest close by to you. Are their walking trails? Exciting to see even if it is a hole in the ground.
Laurie - sounds like everyone is getting the rain this weekend. Luckily it only misted a bit yesterday during the unloading of the truck, but today it just down poured. We were driving and we were almost having to pull over. How are the kids with the storms and spending time in the basement? I guess they're old enough it's not so scary (even though it is)
Evening Coolers
Spent a fairly relaxing day. I vaccuumed the house so it's looking pretty good. My sister came over and organized my linen closet - even labeled the shelves:D
we spent the afternoon at friends close by with a pool. DS didn't get out of it until supper. It's been unbearably humid here and with the rain yesterday it cooled it off.
Just gave myself a mani/pedicure and will just plug away at a few things during the week.
Now for the fun of setting up my new workspace tomorrow. Downsizing from an office to a cubicle. I've got about 30 boxes to figure out how to fit in it!:eek::rolleyes:
Back from camping. It was a beautiful weekend! We were at Grand Beach which has been named as one of the top 10 beaches in North America, it's about a hour away. The weather was perfect! A few bugs but not bad. The kids swam for hours with their cousins then we spent the evening around the campfire. Nice to be home now. DH has to work tomorrow.
No rain here this weekend. Just hot and sunny and it's supposed to stay that way.
Patricia, I can't believe you're moved already! The whole process just seem to go so fast!!! So any problems with the house? And you're in to work tomorrow already!? They're is some walking trails but not really close by. We went by again this evening and even more progress! So much fun to see! When do you leave for the road trip??
Laurie I thought the same thing we they done the basement. It looked so shallow. The house is actually a bilevel ( from the front entrance it's a 1/2 flight up and a 1/2 flight down) so it is a raised basement. Any more rain over the weekend??
Morning Coolers,
No workout this morning or Sunday. Saturday I did get up and do CTX Power Circuits (fun), and 4DS Shoulders, Calves & Core.
Really super hot at the faire on Saturday, but Sunday was beautiful. My oldest DD sells pickles, and she only sold 45 pickles on Saturday and $20 in tips. Sunday was so much better, don't know how many pickles, but she had $80 in tips. There was hardly anyone around on Saturday. :(
Patricia, Have a great time setting up your new workout space. The clouds really have been holding a lot of water. Fri/Sat during the night, Chicago went through the same thing we did on Thursday. Our faire site was quite muddy on Saturday. My youngest get all comfortable in our basement, she gets out the sleeping bag and watches the tv weather. Unless the power has gone out. :eek:
Kim, Glad you had such a great time camping. Isn't it nice to just let the kids play in the water all day long. Ok, now I understand about the basement, our hole in the ground was a large pit, so it was a bit confusing. :D We had downpouring rain all through the night and morning on Fri/Sat. While driving to the faire we had to drive though running water. There was this one driveway that had water gushing down it, and on Sunday the gravel from the driveway covered the road. It appeared that there may have been a vehicle that went into the ditch because of it.
Have a wonderful day,
Laurie, I think I'll do Power Circuits from CTX today :DI might try and get CTX done over the next week before my eye surgery. Yesterday was a totally relaxing day. Took kids to swim lessons, did laundry and made supper and not much else. It felt great to read, watch tv and play Scrabble with ds. Lazy summer day, no workout for me DH did MMA Fusion. It was super hot here yesterday, 30's Celsius/100's Fahrenheit. We did go so the show home for the model we are building as there are closing it down this week and the family that is moving in probably doesn't want us to visit:p The kids have fun planning on where all the furniture was going.
Lauire, your dd is making some good tip money! Is it all just tips or does she get paid as well? Are you drying out??
No big plans for today either. Swimming lessons, CTX and then we'll see this afternoon maybe a movie.
My garden is going crazy. Tons of fresh veggies, we have buckets of peas, lettuce, beets, carrots, cucumbers. I'm getting teased alot about my green thumb because overall gardens aren't doing that well. I'm supplying my family and coworkers on my little backyard garden. This is only my second summer with a garden and both years I've had an incredible harvest. I think it kind of annoys my mom who has been gardening her whole life and has had very little produce yet. I just stick the seeds in and weed/water a bit with no clue to what I'm doing. I think it's just a really good area with regards to soil/sun/drainage and nothing to do with me.
Morning Coolers
I'm not sure if I'll be doing any workouts this week. I'm sure I'll make up for them on the weekend:D
I had such a headache yesterday (I don't normally get them). I think just from the stress of moving then of course setting up my little cubby space here at work. My allergies seem to have kicked in yesterday too so my throat is sore. Hoping to get a handle on it before Friday:(
I couldn't find the shelf clips for our buffet until late last night. By then I was too tired to try and unpack my nic naks. Just 3 more boxes to unpack and all that is left is the pictures. Then I'll tackle all the boxes in the basement but I'm thinking of painting the concrete floor first. But, I'll have to find the paint brushes b/4 I can do that:eek:
DH taking DS to a friends house this a.m. for swimming. He wants to stay with Daddy all the time as it's so much fun. Next week things will be back to normal. DH is taking him on Sat. to the Poconos. 1st to Great Wolf Lodge then Sun. to the Nascar race then drive home. They'll only be a couple hours away from where I'll be:rolleyes: But I'm not driving the 6.5 hours to get there:p
Laurie - freakin weather eh! $100 tax free for 2 days work - that's better than minimum wage! What is she going to spend it on:)
Kim - everyone is channelling CTX these days. Get your swimming in now b/4 the surgery. I think you have to wait 1-2 months afterwards. LOL about the gardening. It's amazing how they grow sometimes with out much work. I'm really missing my pot drawers and I have only one column of drawers and am having difficulty figuring out where to put all my spatulas, etc. When you move, remember to keep one box of cleaning supplies along with t.p. in the car. I can't believe the previous homeowner didn't leave t.p. in the bathrooms:( I was prepared though:p
Morning Coolers,
Hiit Double Wave Pyramid and 4DS Chest & Back was the workout of choice for me.
Kim, Power Circuit is a ton of fun. I liked that I got a short cardio/leg workout all in one shot. Of course it helps that the step and kickboxing in that one are fun, and the hi/lo is super short. :D WTG on the garden, there is an electrician here that has been supplying me with cucumbers. :D I'll take whatever he will supply. ;) Besides the tip money she does get $.15 per pickle. I think that on Sunday she has the posiblity of selling around 500 pickles, so she may have an additional $75 in cash coming to her.
Patricia, Glad you are getting to the end of the boxes. August is usually allergy season for me, so much fun isn't it! :confused: I'm not looking forward to it, with all this water I'm sure the mold is going to be going crazy. DD is saving her money to buy a newer car, she doesn't like the high mileage car that we gave her. :eek: The dang thing gets her to where she needs to be, so I don't see a problem. :D
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers
We had company over for dinner last night which was great but I was ready for them to leave at 9. I was falling asleep on the couch but they didn't leave until 10. I was asleep with in 5min of them leaving:confused: I'm pumped up on Reactine and Advil to try and get a handle on this allergy flare up. I wonder if it is caused by dust from all the boxes and paper that I was handling this weekend.:(
Laurie - I would have been so happy for any car at that age. Us kids got to use Mom's car but never Dad's truck:rolleyes:
OH I sure hope you're feeling better soon. The meds probably make you feel sleepy! Wow, people over for dinner already! Then away for the weekend, do you ever take time to relax?? Some good moving tips! The last time I moved was 18 years ago, DH and I moved from our apt to the house we only had a few carloads worth of things, we were only 23. After being here for 18 years it's going to alot to move!
Nothing is happening with the house this week, I thing the concrete basement which was poured last week has to sit for 1-2 weeks to dry??Does that sound right?
Yesterday I did do Power Circuits from CTX and then hopped on the tm and did a 1.5 mile run. I was curious to see if Insanity made me a little faster and I was !! Today will be CTX 10-10-10 and maybe if time permits I'll do the tm run again. DH did GS Chest and tripcs last night and I could hear him complaining about the push up drop set:rolleyes:;)
Patricia I never knew about the swimming:eek: They don't mention that anywhere. We were going to the waterpark in Minneapolis and of course tubing/swimming at the lake. I'm a Pisces got to be in the water.:mad: Maybe I should move the surgery.
Well Laurie, if dd saves the money and buys her own car she will probably appreciate it more. The pickle money should help her savings!
Yesterday I ended up taking the kids to the movie Grownups, They thought it was hilarious:rolleyes::rolleyes: Today we might go out for lunch. This evening I might be freezing peas unless I can give more away.
Morning Coolers,
CTX Kickboxing and 4DS Legs & Abs for me this morning. Going to a Brewers bball game today for work. Like it when your work day is a fluff day. :eek: Makes for a nice week before I head off on vacation. Tonight we are going to DH's parents for dinner. :p May need a bottle of wine to take the edge off. :eek:
Patricia, Dang on the sleepies! I think I was in bed at 9:30 last night, just could keep my eyes open. ;) Your allergies could very well be from the dust.
Kim, Yep that does sound right on the basement. I know ours stood there for quite a while before the actual construction started. Isn't it interesting how that Insanity worked. Have fun with the CTX's, I sure am. ;) Oh I wish that I was close to you, I love fresh peas. :D
Have a wonderful day!
Morning Coolers
I thought my allergies were getting better as the day wore on but overnight they've just kicked right back in. Must be something in the house. I'm sooo not looking forward to this weekend. Hope I have the energy:mad::eek: Took DH for an early B.D. dinner. We were going to a Chinese place that we liked but it's no longer there so had to hunt around for something else. Didn't really like what we ended up with. Oh well.
Busy at work but last day this week:p:p With it being a holiday Monday next week too I won't have worked a full week for 3 weeks in a row:) (Well, I guess unpacking last week is considered work but NOT the same:D)
Kim - when you pour concrete you need to let it cure before you can put any "load" on it. So that sounds right.
Laurie - Hmm, BB for work then dinner that you don't have to make. Life sounds good!
Oh Patricia, I hope that once the dust settles from the move, you'll feel better. Maybe you should try having the furnace and ducts cleaned?? It'll be interesting to see if the symptoms are better once you're away. When do you leave??
So Laurie are you going through all the CTX?? I ended up doing CTX Step Intervals yesterday as 10-10-10 was freezing. I took the dvds in and had them cleaned as I remember having trouble with the kickboxing a few months ago also did a short tm run yesterday. How was the baseball and dinner yesterday?? I ended up giving a bag of peas to my sister.
We are sure in holiday mode here. Getting a little routine going with swimming lessons, workout, lunch and then something fun with the kids. Today dd has a friend coming over for a playdate, not sure what ds will do. I should try and get some housework done.
Morning Coolers,
Today is yoga day, so PY4H Daily Dose of Bliss was my workout of choice. Love the magically hips section in these workouts. So I have a question, I want to keep to my yoga Thursdays. Eoin has a free download, and I was thinking of doing this workout at my parents. They have this beautiful front porch on their house, and it gets the morning sun. Do you think it would be weird if I attempted the workout on the porch? :confused: :D
Patricia, Do you know what you might be allergic to? If you are feeling better away from the house, then there is something in the house. I had a friend that was allergic to Frebreeze. Dang on not being able to have the meal you where looking forward to.
Kim, I'm attempting to try all the CTX workouts for the summer. I also have the Barry's 5 Day Academy cardio and KCM's 30MTF Kickboxing and Cardio Blast. Baseball game was a bit disapointing, because the Brewers ended up loosing. :( Got a little sunburnt, but it was fun. Really good seats too.
Have a wonderful day!
Morning Coolers,
Todays workout was really great. Barry's 5 Day Academy Cardio with Jay, now this one is just like Insanity. I also did 4DS Bi's and Tri's.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I did do yoga once on the deck at the cottage Laurie and it was fine. I don't think it's weird as long as you don't feel self conscious! Are you on holidays after today?? Enjoy!!!
Did CTX again. I'm really enjoying this series!
Both kids passed their swim lessons! (they take after their mom;))
Today was dd's last day at the daycare. Now the daycare is in the school building and they provide before/after school care as well as over all the holidays. I kept her in this week so she could finish off the swim lessons that the day care was taking them too ( ds was walking to a nearby pool for his lessons). Since we're moving in Sept to a new school. I figured I would save the cost of day care for August and let ds babysit dd.
It didn't really hit me until I went to the school/daycare to get dd today. It's the last time in the building where I cried on the first day of Kindergarten, they played on the sport teams, and ds in the band. They and I made many friends there. The teachers started to say goodbye and one of dd's friends was upset. Of course I teared up. I have a hard time moving on with things. Neither of my kids seem to care and just say they are excited about moving on. It was very emotional. I've walked that block from our house to the school more times than I can count. I remember thinking if I had to walk it one more time I would scream! (when the kids were young, I didn't work much and would walk it before/after school and at lunch) and now that chapter is done.
DD and I are going for pedicures/manicures as I had a gift certificate given to me by the daycare board when I resigned after 6 years.
Looking forward to watching some of the webcam this evening. I'll be looking for you Patricia! Have a great time! I'm envious as usual!
I guess we'll all be away this weekend as we're heading to mom's cottage tomorrow. See you next week!
