*** Coolers in July ***

Morning All,

Dang tired this morning, but I managed to get my butt out of bed and walked the dog, worked out with Jillian and the 30 Day Shred #1 and ran for 25 min. Legs where a bit stiff at first, but it got better as the workout went along. I'm sure that tonight I will be tired, but I will get myself to bed early. ;)

This had to be the best opening weekend for me personally. I had a great time, and there where some wonderful families that I met. Hope the rest of the season is just as fabulous. :)

Patricia, Think you are on vacation right now, hope all is going well.

Kim, Isn't it funny how even after school is out you are running around all over! How much longer is STS for you? I have never been able to get into RS, it was just to much for me. Now I don't step anymore, so will probably never do that one again. :( Some of those step workouts where fun. ;) Did you get your list of thing done?

Laurie

Morning All,

Everyone is enjoying their summer I am sure. :D Today was 30 Day Shred #1 and 4DS Kickboxing only.

Nothing interesting to note. Need to get outside tonight and weed some of the flower beds and get my van cleaned out. That is about it.

Have a great day everyone,

Laurie

Glad to hear that you had such a good time at the fairie! Do your dd's get involved in it?? Good for you for getting that run in even when you don't feel up to it! Today I did Drill Max premix #4 and STS abs so I only have one more day left of STS!!!! (and 2 more days of work!!) Looking forward to a break from both!

THANKS PATRICIA!!! I picked up CLX today at lunch! It worked out perfectly. I going to preview it over the next couple of days and then plan to do it after my holidays.

This is what I"m thinking
CLX rotation (Aug to mid Oct)
STS rotation with the new cardio (mid Oct till Jan)
Get Insanity from DH for Christmas;);) and do it Jan/Feb
Then maybe train for another marathon (or half) next spring.

I'm such a planner. :p

Busy week for me. DS is taking a hockey camp from 9-3 everyday. Of course I work 7:30-4 but at least the arena is close to my mom's. So someone has to drop him off at her place every morning and then pick him up after work. DD is going to daycare close to home. So 2 stops every morning/night and one very out of the way:rolleyes: Also super busy at work. I came to work Monday morning and there was 22 new referrals for newly injured patients from the weekend. All required to be seen at least once this week on top of the current caseload. When do all these people come from?? It must have been quite the weekend in our city:eek:

FANTASTIC Kim that you go CLX already. I didn't enclose the calipers or purple band as I figured you might have those already or to use the band around the ankles just tie a long band like in firewalkers. I can't believe you want Insanity. I have no problem skipping the bandwagon on that one:eek::eek: Hey, when does it get easier keeping track of the kids?

We went to friends south of us on Sat. and stayed 2 nights. Sunday their 7yo started racing go-carts so we spent the day at the track watching. DH want to get DS into it too so it was a good opportunity to get the "lay of the land". Weather isn't all that great and DH didn't feel like working at the cottage so we ended up coming home yesterday so I got in Disc 19B - C/S/T and today I did Disc 20B - legs. We went to a nearby city car shopping. I drove a Rav4 and Ford Escape. I'm thinking of getting the Escape but still no hurry on it. Not getting much of a trade-in on my 03Civic:confused:

DS has this trigger thumb surgery tomorrow at 11:30 so hopefully it is on schedule as I have BB at 6pm - yeah, my priorities are straight:rolleyes:

I'm having trouble finding spring collars for my 1" barbell. I've bought 2 different brands and they are both too big. I'm not liking the collars that came with my BB as its taking too long to switch plates. Not such an issue in M2 or M3 but I want to get everything in order b/4 I start up M1 again plus for when I do other quick change type DVDs.

Kim - so are you posing in front of the mirror these day? Got to love those muscles:D Congrats on sticking to the longer rotation. I'm not sure if I'd do 6.5 again but definetly the 3.5mo rotation will be repeated frequently. Yikes on all the new patients. They'll see you just in time for them to be deserted b/c of your vacation:eek:

Laurie - that's good to hear you had such a good time this weekend. Must be the new dress:) Are you on a 30DShred rotation? Yuck on the weeds. The dandelions are about 80% gone and now I've pretty much given up on them. Let the new owners deal with them next year I say:p:eek:

Will try to pop back in tomorrow if I can.

Have a great day Coolers

Morning All,

Todays workout was 30 Day Shred #1 and a 25 min run on the TM because it was raining out. Have to get to jury duty later this afternoon, guess this is the pick the jury time, or sit and wait time.

Kim, I am a planner also, and I was looking at my calander and have scheduled STS for Sept 14th. LOL! I didn't want to have Christmas disrupting the rotation. :D :D :D See I'm a planner too! Have a great time with CLX.

Patricia, Yes I am trying out 30 days of the Shred. I am running 3 days and 2 days of kickboxing. Sat & Sun are just the Shred. So far so good, but I have only gotten through the first 10 days with level 1. Sunday was the toughest day to get up and workout. ;) But after only 10 days I have seen more of my abs than I have in months. I'm taking my measurements tomorrow morning, so will let ya all know how it goes. I can't stand weeding, and neither can DH. But it needs to get done. ;) I know your DS will do fine, so sending good thoughts to you.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning All,

Level 2 of 30 Day Shred and KCM's 30MTF Kickboxing #1 with 1lb hand weights are all done. I have to tell you that my shoulders are really feeling the workout. Can feel it while I'm typing. :)

Got to the courthouse yesterday and was told to leave. Apparently the judge received more information, so it was cancelled. I don't have to serve for another 4 years. :D I'm glad, because this was a termination of parental rights. :(

First 10 days of the Shred results are: Weight down 1-1/2 lbs and waist down 1". Hips and thighs stayed about the same, but Level 2 is way more intense than level 1 so I'm thinking that this is going to make some changes. :D

CONGRATS KIM!!!!! WTG on getting STS finished.

Here are some pics of me in my dress:

Have a great day!

I'm on holidays!!!! I'm not back to work until August 4th!!!!!!:D:D I was so excited yesterday afternoon getting ready to leave. I just so needed a break from the hospital and some of my co workers.

Laurie What an amazing dress! Did DH really make it! It must feel so cool to be dressed up like that! Does it weigh a ton??
I always hear about the Shred but don't know much about it, is it a beachbody product?? Seems like you're getting good results from it.
I'm glad that jury duty got cancelled for you! It would be awful to sit and listen to child abuse details. I've got called for jury duty a few times in the last few years but my manager always insist on sending a letter saying that I'm needed at the hospital.

Patricia How did ds make out on his surgery!!! Hope he's doing great!!

Today, I've got to take ds to hockey camp, then the usual laundry, groceries, etc. I would like to preview CLX then tomorrow we leave for Mom's cottage. There be 12 of us for the weekend then after that just my sister, mom and I and the 4 kids we'll stay as long as the weather is nice. Then my second week of holiday our family is planning on doing some camping.

Morning All,

Today was Level 2 of 30 Day Shred, and a 25 min Run. We have lovely cold weather here today. Will be fun walking around in a big dress with this weather. :D :D

Kim, Have a great time on your holiday! The dress is pretty heavy, but I fair better than some people. One of the main reasons for my getting into fitness was because of having to wear these dresses. People are amazed at how I can handle over 8 hours, and running all over the faire. More and more people are telling me that they have started exercising, just because of me. 30 Day Shred is in retail stores, and on Amazon. There are 3 20 min workouts on the DVD, and they are the 3-2-1 method. 3 min of weights, 2 min of cardio and 1 min of abs. The weight part gets your heartrate up, because she uses compound moves when you work the smaller muscles. Each level gets more intense, and the cardio is plyo (jumping jacks, high knees, butt kicks etc.). This can be hard on the knees for some people. So far I have been doing all right with that.

Probably will be kind of quiet around here for a while, but I can enjoy talking to myself. We will probably be going on vacation at the end of July.

Have a great weekend,

Laurie

Morning All

Just finished up my 3rd week of M2 and trying to decide if I should take a break until after the Road Trip and finish the final 2 weeks of M2 and maybe concentrate on cardio for now. We're leaving to go to FIL's cottage then on to our own and I'm not back until Wed. I've got like 8 BB games in the next 2 weeks + the RT so busy, busy.

DS came through the surgery like a champion. He has a big bandage on his hand for the next 2 weeks that has to stay dry and clean. That's going to be the challenge now. He is not in any pain, only over the counter Tylenol suggested for the 1st day and thats been all he has needed. He just keeps asking when the bandage can come off. That night though I'm putting him to bed and he says "I don't like the hospital". I so felt for him and so hope it doesn't hurt to have the stitches taken out. Now that he is 4 he can get another round of immunization shots but I'm going to put that off for a while. No need to give him a fear of Drs. As it is he has his 1st Dentist appt next month.

Kim - a big congrats on completing STS. Did you do anything to celebrate? or is your vacation your celebration:) Have fun on your vacation too! Shred is a Jillian Michael DVD.

Laurie - I remember combining Level 2&3 for a good workout. I can imagine doing just 1 level then extra cardio afterwards you must be getting a terrifc workout. High five on the progress. I've been lucky so far to avoid jury duty. My father and sister have both been called, more than once. Seems like once they get your name they keep calling on you and then others never get called. Got to wonder about their system. It must be hard to get on to cases involving children but then I'd be one of the jurors calling for "throwing the book" at them in that case. I can't believe the detail in the costumes. You all look so terrifc. It must be fun to play a different person for the day!

Off to shower and eat some lunch and hit the road. Will check in next Wed if I can.

fingers x-d for good weather for everyone and hope you're not too lonely Laurie.

Just a quick post before heading out to the cottage. Not sure what day we'll come back. Have to be home Friday as I made dentist and doctor's appts for the kids. Will just depend on the weather what the kids want.
The weather is looking promising!

Patricia I viewed a few of the CLX workouts yesterday. I have to say the look a little easy after Cathe but I might take back my words after trying them. Sounds like you will have a busy couple of weeks! Glad that ds is doing well, it's going to be a challenge keeping his bandage dry while he wants to swim at the cottage! I've had patients try saran wrap over finger bandages.

Laurie I looked up the Shred workouts, interesting, but I have enough new workouts on the go right now with CLX and STS cardio on the way. I can't remember if you ordered STS cardio??? I know that you don't do a lot of Cathe's cardio. Enjoy your weekend! Will check in when I can.

Another 3 days of the shred are done at level 2, so only 5 more days on this level. I also got in an interval run.

Kim, Have a great time!

Patricia, Also have a great time. Hope you can keep that had dry, I know how those children love the water. ;)

Laurie

Another day of level 2 Shred is finished, and CTX kickboxing cardio and arm drills are done.

Nothing of interest happened yesterday. My evening was cutting down some brush, going to church and transporting my DD's to the shoe store so they could get some more shoes!!!!  Good thing they where having a buy 1 get one 1/2 off. And they both bought $50 shoes for half the price. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Evening Coolers

We got home late afternoon from the cottage. Today must have been one of the BEST summer days yet and we had to leave:rolleyes: DH has been working hard and his back is stiffening up so he wanted to come home and see his chiropractor. So, home a day early so I booked a hair appt for tomorrow a.m. I need something done in the worst way with it. May get some highlights. See what kind of move I'm in tomorrow.

I did Kathy Smith's Power Push (1/2hr aerobics) Sun. and yesterday Turbo Jam - Cardio Party 1. They don't take up too much space so easy to fit in around all the trim we have stacked up at the cottage. BB tomorrow night. I'm taking this week as an active recovery week.

Went to the ER Sat a.m. to get DS's hand re-bandaged. In and out with-in 40mins and they gave us extra bandage to do ourselves. We've changed the bandage 2x since then too! How the heck they think we can keep it clean for 2 weeks in beyond me:rolleyes:

Laurie - I see our Walmart has both the newer Jillian's in stock and so close to buying them but I just keep looking at them and putting them back on the shelf. I did buy Jari Love's new Extremely Ripped w/o today though as it is the 1st time I've seen it retail here. Got to support the Canadians is my excuse, even though it didn't get good reviews. I'm looking for some 1/2hr TB w/o's so thought I'd give it a try. I might do it next week as I think I'll just take a break from STS until after Cathe's RT. Yuck on cutting the brush. I need that shoe sale. Went looking for running shoes today and couldn't find anything I liked.

Will check back in sometime tomorrow.

Morning All,

Shred Level 2 and a 25 min. run are all done. Last night again was more brush clearing before the rain came. If it gets better then tonight will be weeding. It just never seems to end.

Patricia, Hope your DH gets some relief from the back pain. I will be heading up to my DB's cabin next week, and I'm looking forward to the rest. I think all of us just need to sit around doing nothing. I'm hoping the weather gets better, so the girls can swim. :D I had my stylist add more of my natural color into my hair, so it is less red. Just needed a change too.

Have a great day,
Laurie

Back from the lake. Mom, my sister and I had 5 kids up there. We did lots of ATVing, bike riding, canoeing, pedal boating, swimming and eating. We did some hikes, watched movies, did puzzles, golfing and bonfires. The kids were great! DS's asthma bothered him a bit and both he and his cousin had bad wipe out on the bikes but otherwise everything went well. We all ate way too many treats!!

DH is away on a business trip right this week and he returns Thurs night. I hope to leave Sat am for a camping trip to a different lake and then return to the family cottage for the AUgust long weekend before heading back to to work.

Patricia That's too bad that your weekend to the lake was cut short. The nice weather weekends are few and far between!

Laurie Sounds like you are ready for a week of lake time!!! Hope you have some hot weather!

Maybe I should get started on CLX today;) but I'm feeling kind of lazy on vacation time.

Evening All

Just killing some time b/4 leaving for BB. Really love my hair cut and colour today. Finally bought a hair straightener so a pretty expensive hair visit today:eek: Got a new pair of w/o shoes today too. Just in time as my PF has been acting up lately.

Laurie - I agree on the rest. With the 6.5 mo rotation I'm sure we probably should put in more active recovery weeks then we do but also life has a way of doing that for us:D Is there a lake at the cabin?

Kim - I don't disagree that CLX looks "easier" than STS but its also what you put into it. Really go heavy and your legs get worked out I think about 4x a week but not overkill that you can't do another w/o the next night. Glad to hear you'all had such fun on your vacation.

Morning All,

So far only got in 30 Day Shred level 2, had to take Cami to doggy daycare. I will get in a longer kickboxing workout after work.

DH and I went to see Star Trek last night, and it was actually a very good movie. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, and just didn't want to be disapointed that they took it somewhere they shouldn't. Well maybe they did with the romance that Spock had.

Kim, Sounds like a great time, and I'm hoping that we will be doing the same thing. :D I think that it will be my parents, and one of my nieces at the cabin. What a great way to relax before you have to get back to work.

Patricia, Yes the cabin is on a lake, and the water is clear. :) Glad you like your new hair style. My DD's both have straighteners, so their bathroom looks like girl central. :D

Decided to do the 4ds workouts as had exactly 4 days (wed to sat) before we leave again.:D So did HIS yesterday and today will be the LIS I think. Then I will start CLX when I'm done holidays so I can be consisted with the schedule as I'm OCD with my workout schedule.

I've never watched Star Trek so can't comment on the movie but we're all big Harry Potter fans and haven't got to the movie yet. DH wanted us to wait until he was home so hopefully next week.

Glad you like the hair cut I occasionally use a straighten and like it. DS and I both need some new shoes so will try and get soon as well. I know how important it is to have very good supportive shoes but they're so expensive. I like the New Balance crosstrainers for aerobicx/weights and Gel Asics for running. DS is becoming such an athlete now I figure I can't buy cheap walmart shoes for him anymore.

Afternoon Coolers

Just finally getting a breather here at work! Had a good time at BB last night - We won:D plus I'm happy with my performance. Made a pretty good snag and I was riding a high for a while after that:)

DH & DS brought me lunch today and our nephew joined us all in my office for lunch!

I think I might do a High Step Circuit tonight and break in my new shoes. BB tomorrow night if it doesn't rain. BB then Sun, Mon, & Tues, pack Wed., company evening dinner cruise Thurs. then Fri is the RT so busy week next week:eek: I have to start printing off all the info for the RT and make sense of it all.

Laurie - ehh, Spock has a romance? I have not seen it yet and didn't know it was still in the theatres. I looked at what's playing tonight and nothing interested me:( With our nephew staying with us I thought we could get out to a movie w/o paying for a babysitter. Consider it as part of his room & board!

Kim - I just love the step in 4DS. Wasn't too keen on it at 1st b/c of the cueing, but now it's one of my go-to short w/os. I can really see the difference in the audio production from Cathe's older DVDs to this one. LOL about the shoes for DS.
