`````Coolers In Jan '10````
Yesterday was a rest day for me but kept busy with piano lessons, swimming lessons and hockey practice. In the evening we out with friends to Boston Pizza:D which was fun. DH painted dd's bedroom yesterday. She wants to make it look like an underwater room :rolleyes: He painted it blue. She and I went shopping and both a 3-D fish picture, and a dolphin lamp. Waiting for the paint to dry to move everything back in.
Today was disc 7, HOLY MOLY on the pushups! I think I did about 3/4 of them. Then ds and I went down to the river trail and skated about 4 miles, :D absolutely beautiful!
What's everyone else up to this weekend??
Evening Coolers
Back from being out of town. Spent 6 hours in the car both Sat & Sun. Why is just sitting so tiring:eek: Fri. night I wasn't in the mood to w/o but pushed myself to do something so I popped in JM's 30D shred and did level 1. Only 20min w/o and didn't work up much of a sweat but felt it a bit yesterday. Today I did Slim Series Shape it Up - a 78min w/o to make up for sitting so much:D Had a good time at the B.D. party that we went to. It was good to see some friends and family.
Kim - I have not done CCC. I think I might fit it in this week but it scares me:D MY DH seems to love Boston Pizza. We don't have much selection here so this weekend we went to The Keg. Their steaks are soooo good! I forgot how much they serve you. I swear I have not been hungry all day! The bedroom sounds like a fun project. I'll have to see if DS will want a new theme in his bedroom. I think he is getting over the Cars and more into Spiderman and Transformers these days.
Oh - Jack is back
Watching 24 and just fitting this in between commercials:D
Take care
Morning Coolers,
This morning was 30 Day Shred #2 & 1. Friday I got on the tm and ran W6D3 of GW28K. Saturday was no workout, just running DD's all over the place. :rolleyes: Sunday was W7D1 of GW28K, and this was outdoors with Cami. It was a wonderful run. ;)
Patricia, Never have understood how just sitting in a car for that long can make you so tired. I'm usually the one driving, but still. :D Glad you had a good time. LOL about the Jack is Back! :D
Kim, We are planning on going in April (when the girls have spring break), and headed to the Burbank area. This will be for a Ren Faire, but should be fun to see some parts of CA. DH will be coming from Vegas, because he is out there from TH to Wed. :rolleyes:
Have a great day!
DH and ds have been busy watching Jack. I'm sure if I started watching it that I would be hooked too. I watch enough tv so never started with that one.
We went to the Keg a couple months ago after not having been there in years. I forgot how good it was, we really enjoyed it!
Did HIIT Pyramid today, it felt harder than last time but maybe because I didn't sleep well last night. I noticing that every Sunday evening I don't sleep well, got to figure out why because goodness those Monday mornings are hard.
I almost did Hiit Pyramid tonight as that's the only Hiit I have not done but it scares me:eek: I only time for a short w/o before 24 came on so did Kathy Smith's Power Push. I'm sore from yesterday's w/o too.
Laurie - love the ticker
Kim - I've been reading so much lately I have not really watched too too much t.v Heck I dvr'd Dexter and still haven't been tempted to watch it. But, I can not resist 24 and Lost begins shortly too! Thankfully, when we're on vacation its a condo with cable so won't miss anything:D
Morning Coolers,
This morning was a tm run, and I finished W7D2 of GW28K. After work will be the JW Total Body from her Power Circuit Training DVD.
Kim, I am trying to cut down the number of shows I watch also. I really enjoy most of the shows on USA. Don't know if you all get that one up in Canada. Glad that Hiit Pyramid was so good.
Patricia, OK Hiit Pyramid scares you! :eek: I'm going to have to try to get in more of these SC workouts in my rotation. I just don't want to do to much, and then my running suffers. :(
Have a great day!
Did I miss something, are you training for something Laurie?
I had a bad day today. A friend passed away this morning. She was 39 and lost her battle with cancer. SHe left behind 2 children ages 9 and 11. I had gone to university with her and then we used to work at the same hospital together. Although we didn't socialize much outside work/school, I've known her for over 20 years and felt I knew her very well. The last I heard before Christmas her transplant had gone very well and prognosis was optimistic. I'm not sure what happened but it surprised us all. Many of the ladies I work with also knew her well and so we were able to comfort each other during the day. Just so heartbreaking:(:(
Finished Dsic 8, it was a good stress relief and now off to watch ds's hockey game.
Evening Coolers
Just finished SS - Firm it Up. It's mainly a LB w/o. DH is out on his ski do with friends tonight so just DS and me. A quiet night over all.
Kim - I'm sorry to hear about your friend's loss. It always hurts more when they're so young and kids to boot.:( Just makes me appreciate what I have.
Laurie - I was just reading that 40/20 is harder than the Pyramids and I've already done 40/20 and survived.:D So must tackle that on my next short cardio day regardless!! Are you enjoying JW?
Morning Coolers,
This moring was BFBM. :D
Kim, So sorry to hear about your friend, that must be hard for everyone that knew her. :( Nope I'm not training for anything, but just have goals. :) I probably will run a 5k in the spring, but that is about it. ;)
Patricia, Have fun with that 40/20 when you try it out. :D I actually like the way JW has this latest workout. Some of the portions are a little fast in getting your weights, but overall I get a good burn. The DOMS in the legs surprised me the most after I was finished with the workout. :confused:
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Just finished Athlethic Step - that is tough. 1/2 way thru I had to go down to just the platform. I never do that. I also don't feel very energetic tonight either. The music is much better on this one then the others I've tried to-date.
Laurie - there is some tricky step work here so beware that the title might fool you:p
Kim - hope all is well with you.
Morning Coolers,
This morning was W7D3 of GW28K on the tm, so only three more weeks left. After work I would like to get in JW PCT: Total Body and Shred #2. Would like to have some Chinese food tonight, so need to get the calorie burn. :D :D
Patricia, Thanks for the heads up on the Athletic Step being tricky. Does it have a lot of twisting moves? If I get my back to the TV, then I'm done. :D Glad to here that is was tough though.
Kim, Hope you are well. ;)
Have a great day!
Laurie - I would say there was only 1 twisty move where you push off the step and do a 180 to be ready to face the other end of the step.
Evening Coolers
Just finished up SS - Mix it Up. I like that even though these w/os are 1hr long they don't wipe me out. I think I'm coming down with a cold though:mad: so will try to get extra sleep the next few days to fight it! We met with the same Real Estate Agent we interviewed last week. We think we will sign with him but we just don't know yet when to put the house on the market.
No plans but to stay home this weekend thankfully! We've been living in hotels the last 2 weekends.
Take care,
Morning Coolers,
TGIF! :D
This morning was an off day for me, so I got in Stretch X. I don't know why I don't do that workout more often, really felt great to get the body stretched.
Patricia, Hope you can ward off that cold. Must be frustrating not knowing when you will have to move. :( I bet you will enjoy a weekend of doing nothing. :D
Have a great day!
Doesn't it feel great when we take the time to stretch Laurie!
I have to admit my friend's really threw me this week. It was an emotional week, the funeral will be Monday:( I hate funerals but I have to go.
I have been keeping up with workouts, I have DOMS in my adductors from Disc 9! Today I did MMA Fusion for the first time. Interesting workout, different moves and I worked up a good sweat. Also went in for my annual exam which went very well.
Hope you're feeling well Patricia! We're expecting a storm here this weekend so a good excuse to stay home and do nothing. I'm looking forward to it. The kids have a few activities tomorrow, we'll see if we they end on cancelled.
Morning Coolers,
This morning was NMTZ and Shred #1. Last night I couldn't resist and got my Last Chance workout out of the wrapper. I really didn't think this one would be as tough as it was. I think because I did the full 60 min. workout it was harder. Patricia, I don't think that this one is a Jillian that you would enjoy. :D She seems a bit softer, but the music is practically non existant, and the contestants use horrible form. :( I did manage to really get a good workout though. She incorporated some really tough plank moves in the upper body, that worked both the back and core. Guess I really didn't give myself and off day did I. Guess this one will not be for a light day workout. :eek: :D
Kim, My thoughts and prayers will be with you on Monday, that is so tough to go through. Glad your workouts are going well though. Hope you stay warm and dry, and that you don't have to go shovel that driveway. ;)
Have a great day!
Good Sunday Morning Coolers
Just sitting here finishing up my 2nd cup of joe. It's been a relaxing weekend. Fri. ended up being a rest day. Sat. I did Slim Series Tone it Up. Today is cardio. I have not done MMA Fusion or Cardio Circuit yet so might pick one of those. Taking DS to a playdate this afternoon. We've been trying to set this one up for a while and finally our schedules came together.
Kim - hopefully we don't get your storm. We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday. I'm sure the funeral on Mon. will be difficult, but hang in there and remember the good things about her. Is there a good support system in place for the family? Good to see you're keeping up with your w/os. Hey, I scheduled my annual earlier this month but can you believe there was a 5 month waiting list to get in for that?:mad: I have to wait until May. I'm presuming I'll still be living here then:eek: So I called back to schedule DS's immunization shots thinking there would be a long wait, but I could pick any date I wanted for that. Go figure:confused:
Laurie - I might like a softer, sweeter JM, but hate that you can't hear the music all that well so my pocket book is safe. I guess one thing I don't really like about JM or JW are that there isn't smooth transitions between excercises.
We rented Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and GI Joe. Good action pack movies for the weekend.
Yesterday was a rest day for me but I watched DH and ds do disc 8 and then ds did MMA Fusion. I couldn't believe how fast he could get down and up again. I'm sure it's partly because he's 12 and also his goalie skills probably help.
Today I start week 4 of my STS rotation, this week looks harder, extra abs added and stuff then the other weeks. I can't believe I'm almost done meso 1. The month of January has gone fast!
That's often only schedule one annual exam a day, Patricia so it takes a long time to get in. My doctor's office has gone to a new system, no appointments ahead of time for anything, everyone is to phone 3 days before you want to be seen and they quarantee you a spot.:confused: Seems to work each time I phone but it's hard to book time off work.
Morning Coolers
Well, I did MMA Fusion yesterday and even though I was sweaty I stood around a lot and just stared:confused: I liked some of the new combos/moves but anything getting down on the floor and back up like the rolls in combo 2 were just beyond me. I know this is a video that I'll have to work up to but just not sure how often I'll reach for it.
Kim - LOL at your DS. I think the smaller you are the easier this w/o is:p I think I remember seeing that you were so/so about this w/o too?
Morning Coolers,
This morning was Barry's Bootcamp Upper Body, Mission Specialists Advanced Upper & Abs. Have not done these BBC workouts in quite a while, and forgot how tough they could be. :D I went all out on each cardio exercise. If this didn't have the tubing exercises in it, it would be Hiit. Yesterday was W8D1 of GW28K. I had to run on the tm, because it was pouring buckets of rain outside. :( I put the tm at a 1% incline, just to make things a little harder. ;)
Patricia, So MMA Fusion is a little tough for tall people. I'm sticking with that thought. :D Have not tried that one out, but sounds like I might need to do it a few times before it will click. I think that I just got used to JM & JW's transitions. :eek: I'm glad I could save you some money. ;) We rented the movie All About Steve on Saturday. Of course my poor DH has three women against him in choosing what movie to watch. :D It was a good movie though.
Kim, Hugs to you. Had to LOL about your ds, he sure is going to have a great start in understanding what he needs for his body. Kudos to you and your DH for giving him that foundation. ;) Meso 1 almost complete, WTG!
Have a great day!
