Happy New Year Coolers

A quiet night for us. We watched a movie and had Chinese for dinner. DS slept out so that was a great way to start the year:)

I did MMA KB today and really enjoyed it. Still not impressed with the music but I didn't recognize one song from Turbo Jam towards the end, but more techno. I just don't find the techno motivating me to push. The w/o did go by fast though. The actual KB segment was only about 35min then a ab drill segment. The 3rd combo was tricky but I got eventually. I feel it is a "lighter" w/o for the advanced excerciser but I'm not complaining!

Kim - I love the fact that your whole family is interested in this series. You might just have to make sure you DH doesn't know where you post every day in case he "spies" on you LOL. DH knows the website since I sent him the link for to buy me the G.C. but I'm not sure how savvy he is to find me on the forums:D

It's turned cold here. DH and DS were out this morning blowing the driveway and their cheeks were RED I'm staying inside! DH has made plans for ski dooing tomorrow with a friend so he'll get his "fix".

Did HITT Double Pyramis yesterday. This is the one with no equipment, very intense but short so quite doable. DH did MMA Fusion and he enjoyed it. I'm previewing Athletic Step right now, I'm frustrated that there is no rotation posted yet.

It's still really cold here as well Patricia. I would loved to do some skiing or skating over the holidays but with the wind chill warning it's just too cold to be enjoyable.

LOL about the wind chill. Just walking from the car to the mall today my nose hairs froze:eek: I got home and DH was getting DS ready to go out for the afternoon on the ski doo with 2 other guys. I know them too well. They will ride for hours so I said no, way too cold for DS. So I took DS out to the toboggan hill close by instead and we had a fun afternoon then came home for hot chocolate. Not sure if I'm going to w/o or not yet. Certainly nothing too taxing on my lower body. I got my hair trimmed and my roots touched up today. I had a couple inches taken off as my ponie tail was starting to whip me in the face when working out. Ouch.

Might take a look at Circuit Blast tomorrow, especially if I don't w/o today.

I saw the rotation, I think I'll start tomorrow and take Saturdays off. Today I did Athletic Step and Travel Fit. DH did Travel Fit with me. DD was upset as she slept over at her cousins and I didn't wait until she was home to workout:rolleyes::rolleyes: So I promised to do another HITT with her tomorrow though.

It always feels good to get your hair freshen up, I made an appointment for later this week.

I think picking one month to do is a good idea. If your going to take a rest week, you could time your rest week to be between mesocycles.

I started the STS rotation today. I did disc 1 (Ch/sh/biceps) with DH and then did Hitt 30/30 with dd. This HITT seemed harder than the double pyramid but maybe because it was a second workout. I'm really looking forward to this 3 month rotation as there is lots of variety and so many new workouts.

I'm thinking afterwards to do just the second month of Insanity we'll see how it goes.

How's it going Laurie? Are you trying out any of the Cardio Shock dvds or saving them for later?
Did you decide on a rotation patricia?

Evening Coolers

Everyone ready to get back into regular life again? I've been off work since the 23rd so will feel strange to have to set the alarm tonight.

We took DS to see Alvin and the Chipmunks movie that just came out. It was good. Came home and did Travel Fit and then after dinner I did the 1st 26mins of Step Move. That is one DVD that will take a few run throughs to get down!

Tomorrow I hope to do 30/30 but still have not decided on doing the rotation. I think I'll probably just end up alternating cardio with FB after all.

Morning Coolers,

Well I'm finally not so busy, because I'm back at work. :D :D Couldn't post at home either, because DH seemed to be on the computer every time I thought of posting. He was working on faire stuff, so I guess that he needs to deal with these things. :)

This morning was a run on the tm with W5D1 of GW28K, and after work I will get in 30 Day Shred #1.

Kim, No I have not done another Shock Cardio workout except for the two MMA. I will be interested to see how the rotation with the cardio goes. I'm thinking that the not as intense workouts will compliment the STS strength really well.

Patricia, Wise decision to not let you DS go on the snowmobile in that cold weather. I have not been brave enough to run in this cold either, bad enough that I have to walk the dog all bundled up.

Have to get going, lot's of work to do.

Evening Coolers

Home after the 1st day back at work. Cleared the driveway then came in and did 30/Hiit. That was a tough but doable workout. Really don't need the step either.

Laurie - I have an old computer set-up for DS, but it doesn't have sound and I'm at the point where I might just give it away except for those times when I want my laptop I know DS will want to play games too!

Kim - LOL at the movie coincidence.

DD and I did HITT 40/20 after work. I think this was the hardest of the 3 HITTS! Now dd and DH are doing and Insanity workout and Ab Ripper. This family is getting obsessive:rolleyes:

Everyone survived their first day back at work? I think next year I"ll take a week off at Christmas. I really missed having a longer time off.

Morning Coolers,

This morning was Jackie Warners Power Circuit Training, and I did the Total Body Circuit. I also got in 30 Day Shred #1. Those two together where a good combo. ;) My shoulders are really toasty.

Patricia, I will have to check the old computer in my DD's room, I never think of that one for posting. :D

Kim, Kind of funny that your family is into the high intensity workouts. I'm hoping that my youngest will join me in trying out Insanity. She will be starting track in the spring, so I know this probably would help her a lot.

Have a great day!

Just finished Jackie's DVD and now resting. I couldn't stand the sight of inside my fridge so I cleaned it out tonight. The garbage man won't be too happy with me tomorrow along with the recycle man. How do we accumulate so much stuff in there and just never finish it???

Laurie - I see that we were channeling Jackie today. I've only ever done the 40min tb workout, but while I was stretching I looked at the 15 tb pre-mix. She had to have filmed just that as a stand alone based on taking one excercise out of each of the TB 40min. circuits. I could see where combining that with Shred would go well together. How did you come up with that idea?

Kim - well, my DH got guilted into at least trying his new stationary bike last night for about 5 min. So that's about as far as the family working out together is going in our household:confused:

LOL Kim - I didn't even know there was a game until my sister emailed me to say her hubby was watching it. I'm surprised my DH wasn't watching it. I don't even know what it is about.

Morning Coolers,

This morning was W5D2 of GW28k, and I will get in 30 Day Shred #2 after work.

Patricia, I have not looked at the other workouts on that DVD. I was wondering if she had just taken all of those workouts to make the 40 min. one. Will now have to check out to see if I can incorporate those into my current rotation. Although I do like the 40 min. one. With that rotation that was posted on Exercise TV Jillian had a Quick Trouble Zones, which I checked out on OnDemand. Since that was 39 min. and Jackies was the same time frame, and was similar in that it only used weights, I did the exchange. ;)

Kim, So who won the hockey game? I didn't even hear this morning yet. ;)

Have a great day!

Oh, the hockey game was exciting! It was the gold medal game, US vs Canada at the World Junior's with 4 minutes left in the game it was 5-3 for the USA. Canada got 2 goals to tie it up and take it to overtime. The USA won it in sudden death overtime breaking Canada's streak of 5 gold medals. Oh well, we'll just have to wait for the Olympic gold medal.

Going to try the new MMA Boxing workout after I take ds to swimming lessons.

Evening Coolers

Just completed Step Moves. I'm glad I did the 1st 25min earlier in the week. It went much smoother the 2nd time around until I got to the 25min mark:confused: I like the workout, you definetley need to do it about 3x to get your feet (Laurie most likely won't like it). The music is uninspiring though, but I like that I didn't feel tuckered at the end.

Kim - tells you how much I watch the news lately? Sounds like it was an exciting 3rd period and OT of course.

Morning Coolers,

Took me 1-1/2 hours to get into work this morning, you would think that people would know how to drive in the snow having lived in this area for so long. My normal drive time is around 30 min. ;)

My workout was 30 Day Shred 1&2, forgot how much I really enjoy Shred 2. ;)

Kim, How did you like MMA Boxing. I used weighted gloves in that one, and I think that really upped the intensity of the workout. Sounds like the hockey game was very exciting.

Patricia, Oh I have a feeling that the step workout is going to be a shelf sitter, because I have no patience or coordination for complicated step. It took me forever just to learn Step Heat. Everyone considers that really beginner.

Have a great day!
