~~~~Coolers in February~~~~
Morning Coolers,
Disc 21 Back & Biceps for me this morning. Another toasting of the muscles, just love those Meso 2 workouts. :D
Hope everyone is doing well,
Things in the house are pretty organized, Lauire, so I can mostly relax this week. I'm enjoying my holidays more than I thought I would. Yesterday's workout was CTX Power Circuits and today was CTX 10-10-10.
I got out my sewing machine that I got for Christmas that was still in the box and have been playing with that. DD and I started sewing a little quilt for her room. I was teaching her how to use the sewing machine last night and she loved it! She's always been very interested in crafts and I've already taught her to cross stitch. She was using scrap materials and making little blankets for her Webkins. I had to force her off the machine and off to bed:rolleyes::D
DS was home with me yesterday as he has a bad cold. He's so motivated though he insisted on going in the morning to get the work for the day:rolleyes: I was worried about his asthma now that he's not on any preventative meds and he leaves tomorrow on a ski trip.
Evening Coolers
Watching Survivor while I try to get caught up on my emails and check-ins. Got in Disc 18-back/bis tonight. No cardio last night - just no energy. After this rotation is over I might have to re-think 6 days a week. Maybe a 4 day rotation or something. I'm just stressed trying to get up to speed as quickly as possible at work and then my vacation starts next Wed. so have to get as caught up as possible for that (no one does my work when I'm not there:() I'll be in better shape by the end of March when the new project becomes 2nd nature to me but right now everything is a bit of a struggle.
Kim - So happy to hear you're on vacation this week. I think that is the best thing for you right now. What's wrong with having the house to yourself! That sounds like heaven to me:p Hopefully DS's cold isn't too severe. Is it an overnight trip? My mother is a quilter. I love the stuff (I have lots of wall hangings) but hate doing anything that requires a needle and thread:D
Laurie - I'm really loving M2 right now too. I can fold laundry during the breaks:p Tell you what. Consider this an invite to next years Daytona party!:p
Patricia, that basement is absolutely gorgeous!! I love it! The hardwood floor along with the stonework and fireplace makes it so classy looking! Do you find it cold down there with flooring rather than carpet? And your ds looks so much older than the last pics we saw of him!
DS's ski trip is one night. The ski hill is about 4 -4.5 hrs from here! Yes, we do have hills on the prairies but yes, you have to drive that far to find one.:p:p:p They leave tomorrow at 6 am and arrive around 10:15, ski for the day, go to the hotel for the evening and swim/waterslide, then I'm sure they stay up half the night (6 kids/room). Up at 7am, ski till 3:30 and home around 8 pm. He went last year with school, loved it! But was absolutly exhausted afterwards. I'm glad he's learning to downhill ski because I don't know how.
I think the 4 day a week workout rotation sounds like a very good idea for you! I think we're all brainwashed into thinking we need to workout 6 days/week and most people don't do that.
I do think this quiet week is good for me. I do find myself reflecting on the trial at times but I do think I need to do that to process it. I find myself checking the newspaper website, and some blogs often rereading the accounts of the trial. It's finally out of the newspaper!
Morning Ladies,
No workout for me this morning, didn't sleep very well this morning so decided to stay in bed. Hope to get KPC and Ultimate Ball from Supreme 90 after work.
Kim, So glad to hear that you are able to enjoy your week. That is so great that your dd is enjoying the sewing machine. I love the fact that both my dd's can get on ours and repair seams or adjust their clothes without either DH and I having to be there. And they do a good job! :eek:
Patricia, I will check out the picks after this, I'm sure they will be wonderful. Thanks for the invite, it is a lot of fun to have like minded people when watching something like that. A lot of my friends don't understand how I can watch those races for hours. :D I thought this Daytona was better than many in years past.
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Got in 30/30 tonight and now just relaxing. So glad it's Friday tomorrow. Will need to get organized around the house to be away, and have good detailed notes to leave for my parents while they're babysitting.
Kim - the floor is a little cool but my feet are always cold and I wear slippers. I might leave a pair down there just for playing pool as they did get cold the other night playing a game:) Glad to hear your week is turing out to be restful for you. That ski trip sounds EXHAUSTING. DS probably won't get out of bed the whole weekend!
Laurie - I agree this year's race was more exciting. Helps the weather was warm (read as soooo jealous) and no delays. Last year the delays added up to over 2hrs. My DH remembers because they froze:D:eek:
DS has his cellphone turned off and never called me last night. He knew he was supposed to call me.:mad::mad:
For some reason I volunteered to be a parent helper on my dd's field trip today. They are going to the Festival du Voyageur, a winter outdoor festival celebrating the French heritage of the area. BUT it's -40 with the windchill outside and ds took my ski pants on the trip with him. I would much rather stay in my warm, new house and read/sew than go out in the cold with a busload of kids. I need to change my attitude, I'm sure it will be fun and a good way to meet some of the kids,other parents at the new school, right!
What day do you leave Patricia? The Disney sign up is today, I assume you decided not to go?
Laurie, I agree that being able to sew is a useful life skill. DS has taken home ec the last 2 years of school so he has some knowledge as well. He said the sewing machine I got is exactly the same as the one at the school. DD will be ahead of her class when she gets to home ec in 2 years.
Kim - how did the field trip go? Did DS recover from his too? No, life is just too crazy for me to even think that far ahead right now for the RT. DH said today he tried to buy it as gift for me and he said he couldn't. I told him it was probably sold out and that I didn't want to go anyhow.
Woke up Sat. with a spot of food poisening (sp?) so rested in bed until noon. We had company for dinner and I was okay but just took it easy. Well as easy as I could. Spent Sunday running errands and getting organized around the house. My parents come tomorrow so I needed a detailed daily schedule along with maps to where they'll have to drive DS to for his activites.
I'm mentally exhausted. My days are just flying by at work and I feel like I'm going to crack. I put a lot of pressure on myself to get up to speed as fast as possible and this vacation isn't helping as no one does my work when I'm away:(
I was hoping to finish up week 3 of M2 this week but being sick on the weekend put a kabosh on that so tonight I did HSTA. Wanted to get in a full body circuit of somesort but my heart wasn't in it, but I still plugged thru it.
My daycare provided left a message to say she might not be able to take DS on March break after all. Just what I needed to hear right b/4 my vacation. Not sure how I'm going to find time to get that organized before I go:mad: The pitfalls of home daycare...
Anyhow, don't want to put anymore of a downer. I scratched at bingo card I was given at Xmas today and won $50 so that's a good way to end the day!:D
Oh Patricia, I wish I could give you a big hug. You really deserve this vacation!! I always say that a working mom's biggest stress is childcare. Maybe ds could do some kind of camp? I know we have lots of spring break camps around here at different places. Hopefully you get that sorted out before you go so you don't spend your vacation stressing about.
I went back to work today, it felt good to be back. The March rotation looks doable so I think I"ll start that tomorrow.
I survived the field trip but it was darn cold! We spent the morning learning what it like for the settlers/fur traders living here in the mid 1800's.What I learned was that I'm sure glad that I didn't live here 150 years ago:cool::cool: and that I don't know any French. The whole thing was in French and it was COLD! So much fun! :eek::eek:Then we spent the afternoon learning dances from that era (kind of like square dances ), the 10 year boys loved that:rolleyes: but at least we were inside. Of course, they were calling out the instructions in French so I quickly figured our right and left.
DS survived the ski trip but barely survived the wrath of his mom when he told me that he never got around to phoning me:rolleyes::(:confused:
My newest obsession has been that I've decided to buy an e-reader (it's my birthday gift) but since I'm obessive I 've spent hours researching them. I decided which one I wanted (Sony Touch) and they are totally sold out everywhere in the city and online!!
I've also got obsessively into doing needlepoint (dd and I finished the quilt) as I decided a needlepoint picture that I start years ago would look good in the new house and so I've been working on it alot.
The only excercise I've got in lately was some crosscountry skiing yesterday.
Sure hope things start calming down for you Patricia, if I was close by I would look after your ds! I'm on holidays for spring break and my kids don't really want me around, they don't even phone me:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Hope you had a good Monday Laurie!
