***** Coolers in August ****

Evening Coolers

Well, BB got rained out. We got one inning in and then they called it due to thunder & lightning so home early and got some chores done.

My DOMS in my legs is WORST 2 days after my workout. I'm glad BB was cancelled kinda of. I tell you, thouse STS leg w/os pack a punch (in a good way!)

Laurie - DS's pre-school is doing a penney drive so I raided DH's coin jar all week. It got DH to finally start counting his coins and he is quite pleased he has spending $$ for Nascar this fall:D Just have to get some rolling papers as I just sorted them ino separate plastic containers. Anyhow, it was a good excuse to do it as I think its been 2 or more years since the last time we counted the jar $. I agree with you on the FR. I rather just give some $$. Our United Way campaign starts next week. Maybe I should suggest the penny drive there too!

Take care

Today my princess turns 9!:D:D:D She is happy playing with her new Maplelea doll. They are like American Girl dolls but Canadian instead. So we gave her the Manitoban doll for Christmas, and she plays with it constantly. So today we gave her the Quebec doll. DS is at hockey camp and DH is at work and so we are having a girly day. Just relaxing at home this morning as Grandma (MIL) is dropping off birthday gifts about 10 am the we will either do a movie or manicures or shop. ;) Then we're meeting the boys for supper at Boston Pizza. I was so looking forward to this day of fun after a terrible week at work. (it's also exactly 100 days till our Disney trip which dd somehow thinks I arranged)

Last night my coworker had the 4 of us that work on hand injuries over for drinks and munchies. We went after work and stayed till 10! We sat in her screened porch even though it was pouring rain and we had so much fun! We have had such a stressful summer and it was great to have time to vent about patients, bosses, coworkers:rolleyes: Two of the girls I run with, the four of us get along really well, but there is a lot of tension in the gym alongside other groups of therapists, etc.

I finished week 3 of CLX, today is a rest day. I'm going to take my running day off this weekend and look after the PF. I want to nip it in the bud before it becomes chronic.

Patricia I only did the STS extended stretch twice, the whole 6 months. I really don't have the patience for stretching/yoga etc but I sure noticed that I lost lots of flexibility. I am making an effort to do the 20 min stretch/yoga "Recharge" with CLX as I know I should. I am doing the icing, and ball rolling for the PF. Also trying to wear my runners around the house. So I hear that you're getting our rain;) We've had an incredible amount of rain in the last 2 weeks. Hope your DOMS is better today!

Laurie. I really need to book a hair colour too! It always seems to sneak up on me. Hope they get dd's locker fixed before school, it sure will be nice for her to get a new one. Our school does just the one fundraiser. Every student has to sell one box of chocolate bars in the fall. (or pay the money) I just buy the box (30 chocolate bars) and we just have them as treats over the next couple of months. Sometimes family members buy a few but we don't go out selling them.

Kim

Morning All,

Today was Jillians Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. :D

Patricia, We save our coins for trips too. Ours is currently spending money for our next vacation. :) I need to get some chores done around the house, but with us being gone over the weekends, and needing to feed the family when I get home, I just don't seem to get those things done. Don't you have those machines that automatically count out your coins? They have them at our grocery store, and you don't need to roll all the money. :)

Kim, Happy Birthday to your DD, sounds like a fun time will be had by everyone. :D I think eveyone needs to get those "bitch" sessions in. Sorry to hear that your PT has come back. You of course know exactly what to do to treat it. ;) Oh that chocolate sure does sound good. ;)

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie, I know what you mean about not getting chores done because of being gone over the weekend. We were home the last 2 weekends so I feel caught up now. We're heading to the cottage this morning, it's supposed to be a nice weekend. We'll be home Sunday evening. DH is not going with us as he's going to the AC/DC concert tonight with his highschool buddies.

Morning All,

No workout yet for me today, but I plan on getting in Results 10 Days Upper and a 30 min run. Had so much fun this weekend, that I think I wore myself out. It was dang cold on Saturday, but our garb kept us the warmest people at the faire.

Kim, Have a great time at the cottage.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Okay, I've decide to take the rest of the week off from working out to let my PF heal. I really will;) my family thinks I can't take the week off.

It's not that painful just a nagging sensation but I want to nip it in the bud before it becomes anything else.
Hope everyone is doing okay!

OMG, I just lost a HUGE post. Grrr.

I'm still alive, just I'm not a happy camper at work this past week as a lot of crap going on - not bad, but just extra pressure lately so I'm pretty grumpy.

Any how, I actually only have one w/o left and I'm done M2.

Quickly:

Kim - happy belated Birthday to your DD. Just a few more years of enjoyment then the TEENAGE years start. I hear it's worse for girls:rolleyes:

Laurie - LOL about being happy to be warm. I bet that doesn't happen too often for you!

Okay, off to bed.

Morning All,

Today was Results 10 Days Lower, yesterday was the Upper.

Kim, Take care of yourself and I'm betting you can keep yourself from working out. ;)

Patricia, Sorry to hear that things are pressure filled at work. That makes the work day not fun. :( Oh yes the teenage girl has to be the worst. So moody, and grumpy all the time. Well at least it seems like that.

Have a great day!

Oh, oh what if she is moody and grumpy all the time at age 9:confused::confused:

So Patricia, are you a Mesocycle 2 grad??

I spent $175 on school supplies last night:mad::mad: and that was even with recycling some of last year's stuff. Tonight we finally got the shed finished and the backyard cleaned up. It's kind of nice having extra time since I'm not working out.

Morning Coolers

I was suppose to play BB last night at 9:45 but the other team couldn't field a team so we went to the bar instead:p Now we're playing Sat. in our play-off tournament and you have to keep winning to stay in. So no idea how many games I'll be playing but if we keep winning it could be 5 games. Yikes.

DS had his 1st ever Dentist appt yesterday too! He handled it very well, but wouldn't let them polish his teeth, but let them floss - go figure. He didn't like the water and suction combination. Took him out for ice cream cone afterwards:) I'd been reading him a Dora book about going to the Dentist and he was concerned Swiper would be there as he doesn't like Swiper! What goes on in their minds!

Kim - if I get Disc 24 in tonight I'm a M2 grad! I have a mani/pedi appt afterwork so hopefully will fit it in when I get home. Yeah. (if not, then Fri. night) I'm trying to decide if there is anything I need to buy lunch box wise. I think I have everything except maybe a small cooler bag. We have our interview with the JK teacher next week.

Laurie - Sept is just around the corner. Are you ready for STS yet?

Morning All,

Todays workout was NMTZ warm-up and Circuits 1-4. Last night I got through some of the 1RM's. :) Will probably do some more tonight, unless I have to go to the mall for some school clothes shopping. Youngest DD needs new jeans, so now both girls will be in the same size! Just guess how many fights will be about jeans. Oldest doesn't like youngest wearing any of her clothes.

Kim, WOW! Lot's of $ for supplies. I'm hoping we don't have to buy a new calculator for youngest. Last night was registration for oldest, and I had to write out 3 checks. $50 just for a yearbook!

Patricia, That is a lot of games to play if you keep winning. Dora wasn't around when my girls where young, they had Barney! I'm getting myself prepared for STS, but just don't want to spend anymore on more equipment. I don't want to have to buy platemates or gliding discs! :(

Have a great day!

A totally self absorbed, needy post from me today. My little boy, Christopher, would have been 10 today. He died from Trisomy 18 on the day of his birth. He was born 15 days after his due date, he stayed with us as long as he could. It still breaks my heart. We'll make a trip out to the cemetery today.

Kim - I know this day must always be hard on you and your family. Hope you just relaxed the rest of the day and spent it entirely with just your family.

Congrat Patricia! I'll be interested to see how you like Meso 3, it's very different. The magazine idea you had is a good one for all the breaks!

Laurie, I see you started the 1RM. I found doing those very boring and so I didn't do a very good job. Once I started STS I wished I had been more accurate so even if it's really boring it's worth the time to do them well.

I did do CLX yesterday and the foot seemed not bad so will keep going today. Two more workouts and I'm finished the burn cycle (first 4 weeks) !! I'm definitely ready for some new workouts.

Yesterday went well. We kept really busy during the day with errands (haircuts, clothes shopping with kids as we have 2 weddings to attend this fall). After supper we went out to the cemetery and took flowers. When we came home dd and I had a really nice time looking through Christopher's "memory box". She was born after and so most it was new to her. I thought at age 9 she would be able to understand. We read poems and letters that people wrote and had a good cry. It was very touching to share her brother's memories with her. I think it was the first time that she really realized what had happend, that she had another brother she never met and that he was so sick.

I think ds and DH were downstairs watching the movie Halloween while we did this:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Not much on the plans today (I wasn't working Thurs/friday) just due to my parttime schedule. The kids and I might find something fun to do after ds wakes up. He's turning into a teen and sleeping till noon these days.

Morning All,

Kim, Hugs to you and your family, that has to be a hard thing to go through. Sounds like you and your DD did something theraputic. ;) I'm actually enjoying the 1RM's so far, but I have only done a few Shoulder/Chest/Bicep exercises. Figured I get through all the higher star items first. I have two more weeks to get through them, and I will do them after my regular workout. ;)

Patricia, Congrats on being an M2 Grad!

This morning I wanted a change of pace so I turned on Exercise TV and did a 30 min. workout called Less is More Cardio with Cindy Whitmarsh. This is a GREAT WORKOUT! I will either get the DVD or download this particular workout from there web site. I was a puddle of sweat when I finished. You do two 10 min sections of all cardio exercises. She does the TIFTing, but it goes fast so it doesn't really bother you. For the last section she has three exercises, and you do one exercise twice for 30 seconds each. I just couldn't believe that I could get such a good workout in 30 min. Next time I'm going to wear my HRM just to see how hard I really did work. :D All I know is that at some points I wanted to stop, but it would be at a point where she would say only 4 more to go. :D

Have a great day!

Just a quick hi before I have to get ready to go and play BB in the rain and extreme wind! Went out for breakfast this a.m. and as soon as we sat down and got our coffees the power went out. Finished our coffees and left. DH & DS off to the cottage for the day and I came back home to get breakfast. My computer must have gotten a bit of a power surge as it needed some "repair" to it when I turned it on. Not a good way to start the day!

I'm packing several changes of clothes for the day as I think I'll be getting pretty wet. Only hi of 13c today too:confused:

Laurie - I'll have to look for that workout. I like Cindy in 10day Results. I really think it kept the Xmas weight off last year:p

Hope everyone has a good weeknd.

Morning Coolers

Well, talk about a wet wet day. We got 1 inning in yesterday and they cancelled the day. Kind of glad b/c I'd rather be playing in something other than a mud pit. We had our banquet last night. The D.J. was really good so lots of dancing.

Another cold and wet day here so just being lazy and trying to decide what to do.

Off to get a 2nd cup of java.
