***** Coolers in August ****

Morning All,

Todays workout was TM's Quick Cardio Total Body Blast A&B and a 30 min run. Saturday was Lower Body Blast B&C and Abs Blast B. Sunday was a rest day, but it was so hot at faire, that I was sweating buckets. The storm we got was a relief. :)

Kim, So sorry to hear that getting back into the swing of things at work made you so tired. I ordered the Garlic Chicken at Applebee's, it was very good. DD did have a BF, until about a month ago. He gave some silly reason why they needed to break up. DD was upset, but soon had another boy texting her. I think she is starting to understand that boys this age are just idiots at times. They have one thing on their minds. I'm very proud of her to not give into the pressure that I'm sure some of these boys have been giving her. I have told her that if you don't feel right about IT, then you are not ready. And we also have an agreement, that I will not judge. I will listen to her when she feels she is ready, and we will talk about what is right for her. Hope I explained that pretty well.

Got CLX done while supper was cooking. I like these shorter workouts:p especially during the summer.
I really got to hit the garden :(

Today was TM's Lower Body Blast and Abs Blast B. Will try to get in 4DS kb after work.

Kim, I LOVE the short workouts, and I think that is one of the reasons that I'm not really looking forward to STS. :( This morning I didn't have enough time to get in both workouts, and now I will have to force myself to do a workout after work. Along with going to my oldest DD's graduation from her modeling course. ;)

Laurie

Morning All,

My workout was TM's Mind Body Blast A&B, Upper Body Blast B and 4DS Kickboxing only. Want to get in a run after work, but we will see how that goes.

DD's graduation was very good, and DD did a great job. I think she was the only one that wasn't giggly while doing her runway walking. :)

Laurie

Nothing much happening here. Just working, dropping/picking up kids, making lunch/supper and then doing my CLX every day. :D

It's got very hot here!
I got my Insanity workouts yesterday, I ordered them Sat and they came Tuesday! I previewed one, it does look hard. I put them away till after CLX.:D

Yes, I'm still alive. The free time I've had in front of a computer. After my BB game (which we won) on Sun. night I drove down to T.O. Didn't get to the hotel until 11 and I was bushed. I thought I would get up at 5:30 to w/o but nope. My 2 days acctg seminar was good. Got to meet some peers from our Halifax and Winnipeg District offices. We all went out for dinner then pool Mon. night and my head did not hit the pillow until midnight. I was good and only a few drinks.:D

Hustled home Tues night. Had to stop off at our cottage to bail the boat at as DH was worried with all the rain we had so just a little extra time added onto my drive home:rolleyes: Set the alarm again for 5am to w/o but no dragging me out of bed today!

I had BB tonight then we went out for beer and wings afterwards so if I have any typos you will know why. I'm trying to figure out when I will have time to start up STS again. Probably not until Sept. at this rate. Play-offs start in 2 weeks and that can be an intense schedule.

Michelle Dozois as a new w/o with the High step and using gliding disks called the Ultimate w/o that looks really interesting. Take a look at it at Collage. I'm thinking of ordering.

Kim - glad to hear you're liking CLX still. I can't believe you got Insanity. I'm so staying away from that!:D That was quick delivery. Did it come from the states or a distribution centre in Canada? I find my BB products usually come from Windsor somehow.

Laurie - so are you going to have a famous model for a DD one day?:) Great on keeping on track with your w/os. I've just given up this last week or so:confused: (psst, so far the scale hasn't moved;)) Sounds like your DD has a good head on her shoulders.

Okay, one of my BB players is a Sex Ed Nurse so she was telling us a storey tonight. A young girl came into the clinic and wanted a pregnancy test. So the nurse asked if she was sexually active and the girl says no. Well, why do you want a test if you're not sexually active and the girl responds that she is having sex but just lies there, she's not "active". So Laurie, explain the difference to your DDs now!

On that note,

Ciao!

Morning All,

Todays workout was Quick Cardio Total Body Blast B&C and Abs Blast A. That is all I had time for, and will get in a kb workout when I get home.

Lent out my Shred workout to a friend last night. I was surprised at myself, because I really LOVE that workout. She is getting married in May, and wants to get in good shape. So far she has been doing Yoga Booty Ballet and Turbo Jam (I gave her these workouts also). She told me she was getting bored, so that is why I gave up my fav. ;) Will need it back at the beginning of the year though. If she likes it a lot, then I have a christmas present for her. :D

Kim, My biggest thing about not getting Insanity, is that I would have a dread factor. Then I might avoid them altogether.

Patricia, LOL about the nurses story! DD and I have talked about all types of sex, and I don't think that being active was one of the subjects. :D She once asked me if you could get pg from oral sex, and when I told her yes she asked HOW! This was at a time when she didn't have a bf, so I told her some. Next day she said that her friends didn't believe me. I said "when they end up pg, then they will believe me." I don't know if I will have a famous model, because she isn't tall enough. But she will be able to do print ads, and local shows with the classes she has taken. This weekend she met last years Americas Top Model Mckey. She used to work at the faire as a flower girl, and has been visiting us a couple of times this year. You will get back into the swing of things. I'm planning an STS rotation for Sept 14th. ;)

Have a great day!

Laurie

Evening All

Just completed LIS. That is a fun w/o! Went out for dinner and had a beer and had to wait a couple hours b/4 I felt safe stepping:p A beautiful day here and took DS out for a bike ride to his new school. He is getting comfortable with the idea of going to JK. Wow, just a few weeks away now. Our school year starts Aug.31st instead of the day after labour day this year. Lots of controversy over that.

Laurie - I don't mind lending my DVDs if it means converting someone to working out:D:D Just hard to let the good ones go though!

Nighty night.

Up early this morning. I was so tired last night that I went to bed early and then there was a big thunderstorm at 5:30 am which woke me up. No plans today except picking ds up from hockey school later but the house is a mess, need to get some work done around here.

Patricia You've been a busy lady lately!! I can see why STS is on hold for now. I can't really believe I ordered Insanity either. I still have 10 weeks of CLX and the STS cardio on pre-order. I might take a look at the Michelle Dozois workout but not sure if I should or I might end up ordering it:rolleyes: LIS is lots of fun! School is coming up soon for you! Will ds be going half or full days? So do they start at age 4 or 5 in Ontario. MB's age is 5 before the end of the year. Our kids don't go back till Sept 9.

Laurie I'm surprised that you gave Shred away as you have been using that one alot. You might just run out of workouts soon and have to do STS>;);) That's neat that your dd got to meet America's TOp Model!

Kim

Morning Coolers

A nice hot hot day here today and I'm wearing my new Cathe tank top to work:D My parents are camping about 1/2hr away so going to visit them tonight for dinner. Then off to the cottage for the weekend. We have another couple coming up for a visit plus Sun we have to get over to Parry Sound and meet DH's brother as he is hosting a send-off for his son going to University. Its the nephew who was staying here this summer (yeah, I get my spare bedroom back:D). They're taking us out on Georgian Bay to a restaurant that you can only get to by boat. All the family should be there too. I'm so excited b/c thiis the 1st weekend that NO rain is in the forecast and we're in the high 20s:D:cool:

My GF likes to drink (well - not excessive) so must get to the liquor store today for some Woodys. A subtrade is hosting a pizza lunch today too! Good thing I got a w/o in last night:D

Kim - in Ontario JK starts at 4. DS will be doing 3 full days one week then 2 days another. It depends on the district and the school. Some have it full-time right off the bat. I will drop off DH at his pre-school in the a.m. still and p/u after work. A bus will p/u and drop him off there on his school days so convenient. Funny, though b/c I can walk to his school from our house! With the early Aug. start we will be out of school the 3rd week of June. The ones waiting until after labour day go right up to the July 1st long weekend. So bite the bullet now or later.....

Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning All,

Today was Mind Body Blast B&C, Upper Body Blast A and a 30 min. Run. Today DH and I will be in our Ren clothing and going to a daycare for an education evening. This is a paid gig for our group. It was kind of weird to have DH take me to work this morning. ;)

Patricia, There must be a lot of off time during the school year for those students. My girls start Sept 7th and get out of school the 2nd week of June. I know our school board doesn't give as much time off as other districts. :D Have a great time this weekend, because it really sounds like your are going to be having fun. ;)

Kim, I shocked myself by lending out that DVD! But when she told me how bored she was getting I knew she needed a change of pace. Figured she would either love or hate JM. :D But she would get a good workout. :D Yes I will eventually have to open those STS DVD's.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Started week 3 of CLX this morning, still enjoying these workouts. DH worked out with me today.

Last night we went to Applebee's for supper and I had the quesedilla burger. Yum! We really have to get eating all the veggies out of the garden as we have LOTS!

Patricia Sounds like a beautiful and fun weekend! We are having tons of rain here. Started Thursday and it's supposed to rain until Monday night. DH and I were supposed to put up the new shed in the backyard but it's been just pouring all morning. DD and I are going down to my nephew's birthday party at the Children's Museum soon. I did check and Insanity was shipped from the USA so coming so quickly is really amazing!

Laurie How was the daycare session? That would be fun!

There is football game tonight but will let DH and DS go sit in the pouring rain. I'm a fairweather fan.

Kim

Went with 2 friends for a 4.5 mile run this morning, DH came along and ran at the same park but he did 6 miles and finished before us.:rolleyes:

DH and I worked in the light rain on building the new shed but after it started pouring we gave up. Just having a relaxing afternoon and then will take ds to hockey practice this evening.

Evening Coolers

Just completed Disc 22 and have not lost any strength from my hiatus:p Just figured I'd better start getting back into it and fit it in when I can. I did get out for a stroll with DS as he wanted a bike ride this evening so got some fresh (albeit humid) air!

I had a FANTASTIC weekend. Can you say hot and sunny! I finally got in the water. Spent the whole day on the dock Sat. then all afternoon on Georgian Bay in a big cabin cruiser. It couldn't get much better than that:cool::D

Well, the gods must be getting back at me b/c I had a really hectic day at work and had to fit in a dentist appt too!

Kim - glad to see you're enjoying CLX still. How about DH? I'm trying to picture a quesedilla burger? Sounds like you've had a soggy weekend. Don't send it this way. I'd better look at the weather forcast as I'm sure we will be getting it then.

Laurie - can you say PD DAYS!. I just got the schedule and there is at least one every month. Hmm, coincidence that they are either Mon or Fri's? Well, I guess it helps if parents want to turn it into a longweekend. DS will be going to school M/W and alt. F. Well, make that when there isn't a PD day! Open STS, you won't regret it. But I really think you need something for your BB to bench press by the time you get to M2. I used 2 chairs on either side of me today and it was so-so.

Nighty night!

Morning All,

Todays workout was KCM's 30MTF Kickboxing #2 and a 20 min run.

The daycare was well received, and the lady that booked us was surprised at how many of us showed up. :) So happy that she gave us an extra $50, and said she wished that she could pay us more. I was touched by many sticky fingers, and the best thing was the little ones trying to learn the dances. :D

Kim, Glad you are enjoying CLX so much. Not sure how I would be with them, since I didn't like Turbo Jam all that much. Hope you finally get some sunshine so you can finish your shed. :)

Patricia, LOL on the PD days. Now that the girls are in MS and HS they have the same schedule for off days. Elementary school had a day off every month, and I did notice that most of them made 3 day weekends. I'm just glad that I don't have to buy the mountains of school supplies anymore. Notebooks, pens and pencils are about all that the girls require now. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

DD ended up sick yesterday, the daycare called at about 10 am to say that she had a fever of 101 so had to cancel patients and rush home. Then DH stayed home with her today, she's feeling much better tonight. :D I hate the whole stress of working when kids are sick, I always feel guilty that I'm neglecting my patients AND my kids.

Patricia, Glad that you had such a great weekend! We've had such rain here! The forecast is nice for the upcoming weekend, DH is going with friends to see AC/DC which is outdoors so hopefully will be nice. DH did CLX again with me tonight, he thinks Cathe is such overkill, he doesn't mind CLX. We have one PD per month on average.

Laurie, I never had any interest in TJ either but CLX is just a nice change from Cathe overkill. Did you notice the blog update on the new workouts??

I've got some plantar fascitis in my foot so going to take a couple of weekends off from running.

Kim

Disc 23 - legs completed along with the extended stretch. I haven't done the stretch since week 1:eek: I can feel my back starting to freeze up as if it wants to "go" so thought I'd get some extra stretching in that was maybe different from my own usual routine.

I have BB Wed and Thurs. night if it doesn't rain.

So DS is not taking a nap anymore and I guess is getting tempermental at day-care. Well go-figure. I still feel he needs his nap so they will keep an eye on him and maybe some days see that he goes down.

Kim - glad to hear DD is starting to feel better. Don't feel guilty. We can only be in one place at once and its great that DH can share the responsibility. ICE the bottom of your foot at night, I find that really helps with PF and probably staying away from hi-impact!

Laurie - school supplies??? Nobody said anything about supplies! YET!:p I'm trying to figure out if I need anything for DS to take his 2 nutritional breaks in. We have lots of cooler bags here but they seem a bit big. Not looking forward to packing a lunch for him:rolleyes:

Glad to see the updated blog on the STS cardio. Maybe we will get them intime for Xmas!
Take care,

Morning All,

Todays workout was TM's Quick Cardio Total Body Blast A&B, Lower Body Blast A&B, Abs Blast A&B.

Last night was hair color, cut for me. Then I went to the middle school for the tail end of youngest DD's registration. The school installed new lockers, and there was just no way DD was going to get that locker open. They have to have the locker company in to adjust her locker. After that I picked up oldest DD from her evening run, and then home. :D

Kim, Hope your DD gets to feeling better soon. I understand about the guilt! Yes I have seen the blog updates on the new workouts, and am still wonding if I want to buy them. ;) I know I won't be doing the step workouts, but was still hoping that the HIIT and Boxing are going to be doable. :) Oh the temptation to like Chalene! :D

Patricia, Oh they actually have lists at the local Walmart of all the supplies that are needed for each class. Last nights registaration cost for the pictures, lunch money, and we also have to pay $79 to the school for registration. Glad I only have two children. Don't know how much it would cost if we had more. :D It is hard at first when the kids do not need naps anymore. I realized that mine didn't when they wouldn't go to sleep at night. I requested that they decrease the nap time over a couple of weeks, and that was much better.

Have a great day!

Laurie

What a busy week so far and it shows no sign of slowing down for the next few. Worked a little late as have had some sudden deadlines thrown at me plus our year-end is just around the corner.

Had baseball tonight too and won. Less than 2 weeks left and the season is over:(

Laurie - wow, you have to pay for registration? I'm sure there will be fund raisers through-out the year but that's it for costs as far as I know.

Hope all is well with you Kim. Is DD feeling better now?

Morning All,

Today I worked out with Jillian and did NMTZ. She really does work the shoulders/abs/ and legs good in this one.

Patricia, They have pretty much given up on fund raisers in our schools. I think last year I had one. To tell the truth I would rather give them the $ then have to go around with the FR. Congrats on the BB win. Doesn't it seem as if we didn't really have a summer. I think this last week was the warmest we have gotten all summer. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie
