***** Coolers in August ****

Thanks for sharing the pics Patricia! I want to hear all the details when you have time!!!!!!

I've been searching for road trip announcements but can't find anything. Did they announce which cities Cathe will visit?

Just got a email from Cathe, happy to see that Minneapolis is still a possibility:D:D

Just did the second CLX workout (Burn Circuit 2), these workouts are harer than I thought! I'm interested to see the results that I get. Sure like the shorter workout times.

Okay, finally sometime here to get caught up. I will say I'm only "beat" b/c I only got 4.5 hrs sleep last night but my body feels great with no aches or pains. There were T-storms in Philly Sun a.m. which shut down the airport so all lights were backed up. My 7:40pm flight didn't take off until 9pm, so I missed my connecting flight by 1/2hr. The airline put me up in a hotel and which by then was after 11 and then of course got me on the 1st flight out which was at 7:45am so I think I got maybe 5hrs sleep last night. Wonder why I took a nap with DS this afternoon:rolleyes: But all is good.

Had no difficulty getting there on Friday. Just 2 - 1hr flights. I think I was at the hotel by 2:30pm and had an 1hr or so to relax and meet my roomie (who was just GREAT) b/4 getting on the bus to go to the gym.

We got some goodies upon registration. YEAH. A gym bag, with a Cathe note pad and pen, along with a Who's Who's book of all the participants, and a black mat that fits the step perfectly for when you're lying down on it. Now that was the cat's meow:) Almost forgot, a HUGE purple water bottle too (How did they know my favourite colour was purple:D) Oh yeah, we also got a Cathe RT 2009 black t-shirt!

Our 1st class was 1/2hr step then UB using 5-8# weights and her pink resistance band along with some ab work. The pink band was HARD HARD HARD. I have no idea how she used the green band in STS. When we left on Sun. they gave away the pink bands we'd been using all weekend.

After the w/o, enough time to freshen up and have dinner (buffet style) and then the relay race and then the stretching class in p.j.s We were running out of time so the stretching class got shortened. Then it was time to get on the bus and we were back at our hotel around 10:30 (of course by the time you relax and get your bag packed for Sat. it was midnight)

I don't want to lose my post so posting in several threads here.

Up at 6am, breakfast in the hotel lobby. yum, yum btw. Our hotel had hot food, I guess the other one didn't. Both hotels had 2 computers with a printer so great for keeping in touch and even printing boarding passes.

We got to the gym by 8 in order to have the group photo taken then on to our 1st class of the day which was 1hr long Step (I was in heaven :D)

After that we're were broken up into 2 groups. After about 1/2hr break one group did a Bootcamp w/o with Cathe, the other could do a Yogafit class with another instructor or attend a Q&A session with Chris. Luckily I got to do the BC class 1st which was just AWESOME, especially the music. It was more advantages I find to be in the BC class 1st as you have more time then to shower, and cool down, have lunch before the Lower Body blast in the afternoon around 2:45 (I think). I got my pic taken with Cathe after the BC class. I feel like such a GIANT next to her.

The leg class was just great also. We used the High Step along with 5 or 8 # weights (psst, don't tell anyone but I used 5# at that point). Oh, and Cathe was nasty and we did lunges with a small towel. Am I glad I had already been doing the platework in STS:D

Off to catch the bus back to the hotel to get ready for dinner and fun and games again, along with some dancing. Everyone sat at the same table that you started out with from Fri. night. We had to name our table along with draw a poster. As away to break the ice we had to find something we all had in common other than Cathe. Since we were all married we became the Ball and Chain Gang:D The group was just FANTASTIC.

I can't say enough about the amount of food available, along with water, fruit and snacks through-out the day. The facilities were great, very clean.

One of the best parts (other than meeting Cathe) was getting to do a 1min step in her studio with her and a few other Cathletes. Oh, I won a door prize. A pair of 2# weighted gloves. They're new and won't be out until the fall but I couldn't believe it when they called my name. I have the 1#, but these one are new and improved. The palm is covered with material unlike the 1#. Customs saw them as a big black mark thru the x-ray machine so I had to take them out and show them. I think Customs thought they were weird!

There was a d.j. Sat. night who was just great. I got up and did some line dancing (well tried too follow along!)

In between classes we spent most of our time in the studio. It's smaller than it looks on the DVDs. The Power Tower was there so tried it out. I have a long way to go for a pull-up:cool:. Also new product coming out. Some yoga gloves, lifting gloves with a wedding ring hole in the finger, and also a really nice new orange & white yoga mat.

Sadly, on Fri. night about 15min into the step class, a woman fell off her step and broke her ankle. She came to all the events in crutches and her leg all wrapped up but not in a cast. I guess she needs to see an orthopedic surgeon when she gets home. She may need pins. I think she should get a free RT next year. We all felt so sorry for her.

Okay, back at the hotel by around 10:30 again but midnight b/4 my head hit the pillow. I felt like it just hit the pillow and the wakeup call at 5:45am happened. The last work out was at 7am and very few missed it. We are such gluttens (sp?) for punishment. It was a kick boxing class with some UB thrown in at the end. ANOTHER fantastic class. Just enough time to shower to catch the bus to go to the diner for breakfast.

Here there was plenty of time to eat and get some Cathe time. Cedie, Jaie and Lorraine and Brenda showed up Fri. night for a while and I think Brenda came to the BC class with the other group. Cedie came back Sat. night (maybe Brenda too) but they were all there for the breakfast. All looking just fantastic. I don't think Cedie has looked better.

We all got back to our hotels by 11:30 and started going our separate ways.

It was really great to meet other Cathletes and helps to make chatting on the forums a little bit more personal.

Now, I can't forgot about my purchases!

A STS t-shirt for when I complete it, a CATHLETE t-shirt, and several Camis. (The only criticism about the shirts are they are very fitted and if you like lose you need to go up 2 sizes)

I really wasn't sure what DVDs I wanted if any. I decided to get IMAX2 with C&W since I wanted IMAX2 on DVD and I only ever hear good things about C&W.

I got Drill Max as I want to see if it is any easier with the weight lifting breaks in it ( I only had Cardio Fusion)

After the Bootcamp which started out with a lot of KB I broke down and got Kick Max.

Since I want to try a rotation using bands, and maybe use the same band as in Cathe's upcoming travel fit I bought her 3-pack of resistance bands too!

So I kept the economy going in NJ:p

I'll update my picture trail when I get more pics from other Cathletes.

They really didn't talk about STS Cardio too much, other then they still anticipate the release in the fall. They reiterated that it only takes a couple days notice to be ready in the studio once Cathe gives the go-ahead. I think some of the music from the BC class will be used (which is great)

A man from Altus was there Fri. night speaking about future QVC segments (possibly even about STS) and that they're looking to get her products into the big box stores like Costco. (Wonder if that means Canada too??) He talked about the Power Tower so I see where they're really linked now as before I'm not sure if I realised they were so involved with the PT.

Eggland Eggs is going to try to break into Canada so I wonder if we may just see Cathe up here.

One other fellow Canadian was there - from Ottawa. He had been to one a few years ago too!

Kim - Chris had mentioned for the RTs that 1st they're concentrating on the East & West coast cities - I think its about population / demographics instead of the "interior" cities other than Chicago. I'm so glad you're finding CLX is more intense than you thought. It really does pack a punch in a short amount of time.

Laurie - are you back from vacation yet? Today is a statutory holiday in Ontario so a good day for recovering. I have a company picnic on Fri. afternoon so a pretty short week for me!:D

Off to bed to catch some zzzzs.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to share all the details! I would love to do one of the road trips! I'm glad that you had such a great time.
So how tall are you??

Got to head to bed early as back to work tomorrow. I've had 18 days off, it's going to be a hard morning.

Back to work but I'm still on a "high" from this weekend.

Hey Kim - I'm only 5' 5-1/2" so just average height but yeah, felt like a giant. :p

Trying to decide about starting up the last 2 weeks of M2 tonight or not. I don't think I have enough time this week or early next week to even complete 1 week. I donate blood Wed., BB Thurs., 2-BBQ's to attend Fri, then the cottage for the weekend. Next Mon/Tues I'm in the City for work. Sooo, maybe I'll try out my new Drill Max tonight!:)

Laurie, what fun to watch your niece win! Are you back at work today. It was my first day back after 2.5 weeks off, and it was hard! The day felt very long.

Patricia, those CLX workouts are hard! I sure am enjoying the change in workout styles. I did Burn Intervals and the Ab Burner today. Good luck with Drill Max, it's an intense workout!

Kim, talk about intense. I thought Drill Max would be easier with the weight breaks. NOT. Anyhow, I made it through. Might also be still worn out from the weekend (well thats, my excuse and I'm sticking with it):D Burn Intervals include some band work for legs if memory serves. How did you like it?

Off to bed.

Morning All,

Sorry about not seeing the tread yesterday. :( Today I switched things up and started another experiment with Tracey Mallet's Quick Fix program. Got the DVD's cheap, so figured why not. Today was Mind Body Blast A&B (yoga/pilates mix), Upper Body Blast A (chest, triceps and abs) and a 30 min run. Overall I really enjoyed the workout, and am surprised that my abs are sore right now. The upper body work was all done on the stability ball. To make the workout harder, she suggested that you keep your feet together (less stability so you work harder). Of course I'm always up to working harder. I might get Level 3 of the shred in tonight, but if I don't I'm not going to worry. ;) Only points I don't like about the DVD's are the fact that you can't pick the blast you want to do together, and I hope my ability to ignore annoying things in a workout will get me through. Tracey's voice might be considered annoying to some. :D It only bothers me when I first start the workout, then I lower the volume.

Patricia, Your RT information was great. Hope to get myself to one of those someday. :) I would feel like a giant next to Cathe too, I'm almost 5' 8" tall. I'm glad you had such a great time.

Kim, I was back to work on Monday, but had such a large amount of e-mails and orders to input that my day was very busy. ;)

Evening Coolers

No w/o for me as I donated blood so I actually have an evening free so I pampered myself and gave myself a facial. My face feels so soft now.

Charlene Prickett has a new DVD out of low impact aerobics from her tv. series so of course I bought. I like her for lighter days, just have to get past the boring music. I also see that Michelle Dozois has a new DVD using the gliding disc and high step and they're only 30min so may take a look at that.

Kim - do you ever do Charlene?

Laurie - I have one w/o by Tracey and lasted only through the warm up. I keep it as I think one day I'll give it another go but that voice just puts me off. I know, terrible of me:confused:

Both DS and I have BB tomorrow night. Xing fingers no rain.

Morning All,

Todays workout was TM's Quick Cardio Total Body Blast B&C, Abs Blast A and KCM's 30MTF Kickboxing #1 with 1lb weighted gloves. Shoulders are nice and toasty right now. ;)

Going to see a movie tonight with my oldest DD and friends of ours. Should be a fun girls night out, just need to determine what I will order from Applebee's. :)

Patricia, I find that Tracey's voice is just annoying in the warm-up so it isn't so bad afterwards.:D I'm probably going to get sick and tired of this warm-up, but she suggest other options on the DVD so may just try that out when i can't take it anymore. :D Hope both you and your DS get your BB games in tonight. ;) WTG on giving yourself a facial. I have really never done a facial, only scrubs! What product do you use?

Laurie

Morning Coolers

No BB last night for me. Got to the game and it started to thunder and lightning and then the skies opend up  So went home and made my potluck salad instead with the help from DH. Great teamwork in the kitchen.

So 1/2 day at work for me today (yeah :D) as going to our company BBQ this afternoon. Only 20c but at least its sunny:p

Boy, tough week for me, Off Monday, 1/2 day today. I have not worked a full week I think in a month and next week I go down to T.O. for a conference Mon & Tues so that's not really work either!;)

Laurie - what movie did you see. The 15min of Fame from the RT - I'm right at the beginning at the back in jean capris - to Cathe's left. It would have been better if we were in a gym clothes but it was still so fun. I use to seel Mary Kay so have lots of stuff on hand. I usually use a mask that you just let sit for 1/2hr. I bought this seaweed mask last Xmas at a craft show. I like it but it sure is a mess to clean up. It's comes dry and you add a little water to it to turn it into a paste. I've learned to use warm water :p

Hope all is well with you Kim

Take care Coolers

Morning All,

Todays workout was TM's Mind Body Blast B&C, Upper Body Blast B (Back,Biceps,Abs) and a 30 min run.

Patricia, DD and I went to see The Ugly Truth, wich was rated R. DD is 16, and some the content was mostly about words to describe sex or body parts. After the movie I asked DD what she thought. "Don't worry Mom, I have heard all that stuff from school and friends." She said most of her friends have had sex already, and have informed her what it was like. :( I'm just glad that she is so open with me about stuff like this. LOL about the tough week you have had. :D

Laurie

Sorry, I wasn't around much this week. Goodness, I had trouble going back to work, I was just feeling exhausted by the end of the day. We are really short staff because of holidays so also busy. Maybe I should only take 1 week off instead of 2 next year maybe it wouldn't be so hard to get back into afterwards.:p

Today I'm going to start week 2 of CLX, I have to admit I'm enjoying the change from Cathe. I love the shorter workout times and the compounds moves. Short but intense. The cardio with the band work is different. Tomorrow I will go with my friends for a run so adding a little extra cardio.
I'm really starting to think that STS Cardio will not be here the end of Sept:rolleyes::rolleyes: so I might order Insanity to do after CLX before doing another round of STS.

Patricia I'm sure DM felt difficult after working out so much on the weekend!! But it is a hard workout, lots of variety in it. I haven't done Charlene in years, my aunt used to do her workouts all the time! I occasionally did her tv workout like when I was in university, I think. Enjoy the conference, always nice to have a change in your work days.

Laurie Yum, I love Applebees, what did you get?? That is great that you can be so open with your dd. I sure hope to have that same communication when my dd is in her teens. Any boyfriends this year?

Going to go workout then after lunch I told the kids that we will take them to an indoor waterpark (about 1 hr drive) as it's raining here. The kids have been off all week with DH. DH had lots of home projects he wanted to get done and the kids are super bored after hanging out around home all week. This Monday we're both working and dd is back to daycare and ds is in hockey camp all week. I think they need to go back to something structured.

Did a 5 mile run with my friend. Beautiful morning for running. Off to do some yardwork, we're pulling down and old shed and building a new one.
