~~~~ Coolers in April ~~~
WOW! Great job Laurie! Some great improvements. Now what's next?? I know you told me before but I forget.
No workout for me today, I couldn't sleep last night so I'm tired. Had a bit of miscommunication with my sister which got me upset and I was ruminating on that half the night:confused: I did do Muscle Max yesterday and it was just as hard as ME.:p
No garage sale for me, I do it the lazy way and just give it away to friend or charities.
So Patricia, will you be back househunting next weekend? How long of a drive is it if you want to go look at a house?
Morning Coolers
Yesterday I noticed one of my tires was low so took it in to have it check and thankfully no whole so they just topped it up and sent me on my way. They did say I'm due for 2 new tires though:( NO surprise as it sounds right. Never know whether to trust in what they tell you or not. I'l be glad to get back to my old mechanic who I completely trusted. After doing laundry and housework last night I just didn't feel like a w/o so I rested with you Kim:D
Laurie - 3 years ago it was hard to keep DS away from toys in peoples homes, now we've been in some vacant houses and he is running threw them so it's been hard to slow him down. But he knows our routine now. Start on the 1st floor, I go upstairs, DH goes down then we switch:D It's around 4hrs to get there so a bit of a pain if the "perferct" one comes up early in the week. Great endurance results :):) I don't think either one of you though lost a LOT of weight and it seems when I read results about it, people are doing it more for endurance then weight loss. Funny as its promoted for weight loss.
Kim - too funny as I did the same while purging. Just get rid of it. My time is too valuable to sit for a day trying to sell $100 worth of stuff. Kijji is my BEST FRIEND:D:D I do however, like to stop at garage sales. That's how I got my 2nd step for $10:D:D
Morning Coolers,
Going to be doing a recovery week, so this morning was Kristin McGee's Power Yoga. Loved getting in a solid 47 min, and was super glad with my stability. Guess there was another thing that Insanity improved. ;)
Kim, I do the same thing when I'm upset. Stay up half the night just thinking about what I should have said, or didn't say. I will be doing an STS undulating rotation, so starting with Meso 1 week 1, then Meso 2 week 1, then Meso 3 week 1. I'm going to try to update some of my 1RM's, because I have not lifted real weights since the end of Dec.\
Patricia, Glad your tire was ok. ;) So great that your DS is enjoying the house hunting process. Will be nice when he can pick out his new room. :D Crossing my fingers that the house hunting doesn't take to long. I think just doing all cardio (like Insanity), was why I didn't lose weight. Some people it probably will work for, if they have a lot of weight to take off. But as far as a fat burner, I didn't see it. I'm just happy with the added endurance, and will see how it goes tomorrow. I'm trying out Cathe's Advanced Treadmill workout. I could never do that one without having to stop. :D
Have a great day!
I did a slow 4 mile run on the treadmill. My PF felt okay while running but I'm going to ice it before bed and hopefully it won't bother me tomorrow. A retired coworker stopped by the hospital today and commented on how much weight I've put on in the last couple of years.:(
Laurie I bet the yoga feels great after 8 weeks of Insanity! I hate conflict with people and even the smallest disagreement can lead me to think about it for days. I drive myself crazy!
Patricia, I do feel guilty at times (but I feel guilty about everything:rolleyes:) about not taking the time to sell things. I figure though that if I give it to charity, it's similar to making a charity donation something that I don't do often enough. I dropped a jogging stroller out at coworker's house on the weekend (she wasn't home), she never mention it yesterday. Today by the afternoon I decided to ask about to make sure it wasn't stolen off the driveway. She said oh yeah, she got it but not even a thank you?:rolleyes::confused: Makes my wish I put in on Kiji instead. I had got it used so it was old and kind of rusty so wasn't anything great but still she could have said thank you.
Morning Coolers
Did Push Circuit #2 last night along with vacuuming (what a pain to vacuum 2x a week at the moment:eek:) We have 2 cats and DH likes to brush them then just drop the hair:mad: Can't seem to get it through his head to get up and put it in the GARBAGE:rolleyes: It's Professional Administrative week (aka secretary's week) so had flowers delivered earlier this week to 2 co-workers and taking them out for lunch today. It had been warm enough that I booked a table where we might sit out side on the patio overlooking our lake but its turned COLD again today. Oh well, its still a free lunch:D
Kim - I hear you on the manners these days. I sold a car seat to a co-worker last year and just got the $$ for it this month:eek: Ehh, on the weight comment. Hope you didn't take it to heart. Funny thing though, lately I've been gettng pretty depressed as with all the excercising I do and eat fairly healthy I'm just not seeing the results. I'm scared now that I'm in my 40's I'll start packing it on. My sister is 5'10" and has always been skinny but with big hips. She is 45 now and in the last 2 years has just packed it on with out any change in her lifestyle. There has to be something to the whole aging and slowing of the metabolism. I'm glad to see in the last month though she has started to workout again. She used to until she started living with a guy 10yrs ago. I'm 5'6" and 145#s and nothing I do seems to shift the scale lower or drop the fat to see the muscles beneath. Hey, have you thought of taking up a team sport this summer. When I get down on myself I recall a comment from baseball a couple years ago made by a team mate. He couldn't believe I was 40 and play and run as well as I do. So even though I'm not happy with my weight/body atleast I'm competitive:D
Laurie - Good on you for taking a Recovery Week. I think that's the hardest part of a rotation sometimes. Hey, is your Faire stuff starting up soon? I've already got the call about starting baseball. I'm getting excited that summer is just around the corner.:D
Morning Coolers,
Well I don't know if my workout is considered recovery, but I did Cathe's Advanced Treadmill workout. LOVED getting back into the running, and this one worked me good. I will be doing stretching tomorrow, so back to a real recovery. :D
Kim, I agree with Patricia, hope you are not letting that comment get to you. I know that I have to struggle with it all the time. I had gained weight off and on, but last year in July I had enough. I have done a great job on getting some weight off, but still not to the point that I want to be at. It really does take time, and age is a PIA! :D
Patricia, That was nice of you to remember that it is PA week. I don't think my boss is going to do anything. :rolleyes: Faire is starting up in June, so I have a little time yet. ;) When do you start your practices for b'ball?
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Just finished Get Lean Intervals along with Extreme Abs. I really like this ab workout. Went out for dinner then off to Wally World for a new backpack and lunch bag for DS. What he had was getting pretty pathetic and had no hope to make it another 2.5 months:confused:
Sounds like you enjoyed your w/o Laurie. Was that off of Cathe T.V.? I think I rememer her talking about an interval one. I t hink BB starts around the long 24 weekend of May so practice a week or 2 in advance of that. I saw my BB bag in the storage room when we were cleaning up so at least I won't have to hunt for it when the time comes:D
Waving hi to Kim
KPC done. It's fun doing some of these older workouts. My PF did not bother me today!!
I have to agree with you both that since I turned 40 the weight is creeping on. My thyroid still isn't fully controlled so that doesn't help either. I try not to let it bother me just try to eat healthy and keep working out but it does get frustrating!
I think running with my running group helps me in the way baseball does with you Patricia. Maybe if my PF is getting better I'll see if any of my running buddies are up to starting again. Some of them have had injuries as well though, I guess we are all getting old. I kind of wasn't pushing to start again as I didn't like the early Sunday morning commitment although I was always glad once I was there.
Morning Coolers,
XStretch is done, and it was fun to visit with Tony again. Have not done one of his workouts in quite a while. Might try getting in Core Cardio & Balance tonight, but may not have time. Have to get DD's dress beaded in the skirt. The slit is just a little to high, so I need to disquise it with beads. She is lucky I know how to do that kind of thing! :rolleyes:
Patricia, LOL about not having to hunt for you bb stuff. I remember having to do that every year. The one thing that always seems to take a while to find was the spikes. :D Then they always felt funny the first time you had to wear them. I have had the tm workout on my computer for years, but she posted it on the rotation section. I will have to check out the Cathe TV, would love to see if she has another tm workout.
Kim, Glad your PF is not bothering you. Thyroid really does affect the weight, and makes it hard to get the weight off. My mother has had thyroid problems for years, but so far I've been ok. I always feel like that when I dread doing a workout, but feel so good afterwards. Makes for a much better day.
Have a wonderful day!
Yesterday day I did Power Hour (except abs) and 40/20. I was exhausted! I'm debating about taking a rest day today or not. Kids have no school. I have a hair appt then this afternoon we're going to tour the new school. This evening is hockey playoffs!
Laurie, is that dd's prom dress? Did you get it done?
Morning Coolers,
Barry's 5 day academy Full Body is finished. This workout used to kill me, but now it was a breeze to get through. Love what Insanity was able to do for me! :D
Kim, I would be exhausted from that workout too! Power Hour is one of the goodies. Have fun checking out the new school. Yep that would be DD's prom dress. They can have a slit in the dress, but it has to go past there hands. I whip stitched about 3 inches, and then created a beading design (duplicated what was on the bodice), to desquise the stitching. She was totally happy with it.
Took a half day off of work today to help DD get ready for the prom tonight, will be totally happy when this is over with. She has a track meet tomorrow morning, but is hoping for pouring rain. We are suppose to be getting rain, so it just may happen. :eek: LOL
Have a great day!
Decided to jump into week 2 of the March rotation which looks like a killer week! Did CCC and felt good. Going to shower and head to my hair appointment.
That's great the you see the results of doing Insanity! It would be interesting to try a run.
Hope your dd has a great prom night!
Afternoon Coolers
Lets see last night was Push Circuit #2 and then as an add-on I did one of the cardios from PowerFit Harmony that I ordered. I new this would be a beginnerish set but I like having them for days when I don't want to do much. I'm going to loan this to a co-worker who says she is interested in trying. It's a 30day program at 20min / day. I looked at the schedule and counted up all the rest days. 6 of them. That's like taking a week off in the month:eek:
Driving down to the Big Smoke again house looking. Our house is showing again tonight and an open house tomorrow. Fingers are x-d b/c I can't take this stress anymore:eek:
Laurie - I think the Cathe t.v. I remember was how to do intervals on the TM. Hey, does DD have a date for her prom? I haven't heard about any boys I don't think in a while.
Kim - It just sank it that with your move it means a new school for both?? your kids?
Hey Coolers
Just resting in the hotel room and can't get over my disapointment regarding this Cathe gift certificate I have. I emailed them again the other day, indicating I was disappointed and asking where does it indicate on their website that they can only be used on the shop.cathe.com site. I guess they really think consumers should know the difference between all their freakin website:mad: Anyhow, they say it doesn't say anywhere, however, that's the only website that you can buy it from. As if when I go shopping on this site I feel I'm leaving the "Cathe" world:mad: I indicated that if I can't use it for pre-orders then I'll be forced to pay for Cathe's next DVDs at a higher rate. Their response is they most likely won't be doing pre-orders anymore. Funny though I can use it at their Road Trip. Well, I'm not "logging" on to their website if i buy direct from their sale table:rolleyes: Anyhow, I guess lesson learned. I finally told DH that I've got his gift still and not using it for my trip:(
So, I'm having a hard time getting excited about the RT. I have booked my room though and decided not to share with anyone this year. I'm waiting to book my flight as I'm not sure if I need 2 flights or not. Depends when we move this summer.
Okay, on a positive note, I made plans to meet friends who I have not seen in about 2 years for dinner tomorrow:)
I totally agree with you Patricia! I would be extremely frustrated with the situtation! I hope you still enjoy the road trip, when is it again??
Hope you have fun with your friends tonight! We were out with friends tonight and many of the wives didn't make it. SO it was DH's friends (they all grew up together) and they all drank too much and told all the same stories they've been telling for years.:rolleyes: They were actually quite funny to watch as they were having such a good time, I think they scared the waitress away as we hardly saw her.
Any luck with the house hunting this weekend?
I did Gym Style Chest and Triceps and then Hiit 30/30 this morning. I did the whole dropset of push ups on my toes!!:D:D:p:p
This afternoon I scrubbed the top of the kitchen cabinets while DH replaced the basement ceiling tiles.:rolleyes: So much fun!
Yes, the kids will be going to a different school. They will know a few kids including their cousins. It's a grade 5-8 French speaking school. DD will just be going into grade 5 so since the kids are coming from different schools, it's a good way to start (as kids won't already know each other) DS is going into Grade 8 so he's not as keen. He's asked to be in the same class as his cousin (Who's also his best friend) and he's also very outgoing/joins all the sport teams so I think he will be fine. He's the one that isn't sure about this but I asked the Principal to talk about all the great sports teams, ski trips to make it sound like a great school. He's definitely more conviced now after yesterday's visit.
Does anyone have a GPS, I'm thinking of buying DH one for his birthday. So he can find his way home after we move:p:p:p He has terrible direction sense. If anyone has one, any recommendations??
I got our new vacuum yesterday, I'm very impressed with it!!
Morning Coolers,
SC 30/30 and Insanity Cardio Abs are finished. That is a really good combo, and you get a great workout in a short amount of time. Really enjoyed doing 30/30, couldn't believe that the easy warm up had me tripping. It has been a long time since I have done anything step realated. LOL
DD's had a great time at her prom, and of course I am biased, but I thought she looked beautiful. Will get some pics posted when I have a chance.
Patricia, I feel you on the frustration of not being able to use that gift cert. Can you use it for the downloads? What! Not doing pre-sales! So we are going to be charged full price, now I wonder if I will even order. :mad: I like presales. LOL :D Yep DD had a date, and he is the same boy she has been off and on dating all year. I finally put my foot down, and told her that she can't break up with the guy every time they have a fight. You have to talk things out, and boys at this age just don't understand girls at all. Venus/Mars is something that you can really see displayed at this age. :rolleyes:
Kim, Congrats on the push-ups! You Rock! I don't have a GPS, so am not able to give any input on the best one. I know a lot of my friends have them, but they all have different ones. One of our friends has a GPS with the voice of John Cleese. :eek:
Have a great day!
Glad that your dd had fun at the prom! It's funny we were out with friends on Saturday. One couple's 15 yr dtr came and brought her boyfriend, she was getting teased about how often she breaks up with him. :rolleyes:
30/30 and Insanity abs would be a good little workout, good idea!
I just finished Athletic Step and CoreMax 2. I'm really looking forward to my rest day on Thursday as the workouts this week have been a hard ones.
Morning Coolers,
Got Meso 1 Disc 1 Shoulders, Chest & Biceps finished last night, and boy are the muscles in that area sore. :D This morning I did Pure Cardio from Insanity, just can't keep myself away from those workouts. LOL Don't plan on anything else tonight, but if I have the time I would like to get in a little stretch.
Kim, I almost pulled out Athletic Step this morning, but the though of having to learn something so early in the morning had me putting it back. I will have to go over that one a couple of times before it will be a workout for me. :D I have a feeling that I will be looking at the TV a couple of times. LOL I have not checked out the March rotation, so will have to see how she has those combo's.
Have a great day!
Afternoon Coolers
Talk about STRESS in buying a house. We put an offer in on one late Sunday, drove home then began the negotiations over the phone that lasted until 11pm when we finally had an agreement. Then 1st thing Monday my agen called to say it might not be a go, the Seller and Agent want us to put in an offer with conditions (i.e. inspection and financing). How ridiculous is that. We think what really happened, as soon as we came to an agreement, another offer came in. Well, too late:eek: So our agent's Broker got involved who had to call the Seller's Agent and her Broker. So it wasn't until 5pm that we found out we really did have a deal, so hustle to get the proper paper work signed, and go to a neighbour here to witness our signature, down to the office to get it faxed. Wheww, what a day:confused: Really upset with the Seller's Agent - she was border-line unethical and if the deal fell through DH and I talked about calling our lawyer.:( So, just finalizing the banking and DH has to get back down hopefully this Friday for the inspection and we will have bought a new house!:):) Now, to get rid of the one we're in:eek:
Today, I was up at 4:30 to catch a 6am flight to the city for a meeting. I'm back home now and just exhausted. Going to have some quiet time b/4 DH and DS get home. I did manage to get in Push Circuit #1 last night though. Rest day for me today.
Oh, my Monday didn't start too well either. Got stopped for 2 rolling stops and stop signs and speeding. I was sooo stressed Monday and driving like a maniac. It was an eye opener to get pulled over. Made stop and take a deep breathe. I lucked out and only got a ticket for going thru a stop sign. It could have been a lot worse. I had visioned of losing my license. The cop said he could have impounded my car:( So actually it turned out to be my lucky day (at least that's how I'm looking at it)
Okay, some personals
Kim - yep, met up with some friends. When I heard they wanted to go to Swiss Chalet (yuck) I told DH it's b/c they have a G.C. and I was right:D Sounds like you still had fun with your friends. It great being around loud energetic people don't you think? Ha, the cleaning still goes on eh! This weekend, a guy had just dropped his undies in front of the shower and forgot to pick them up for the showing. I laughed:p DH took DS to daycare to day and I see he made an effort to tidy up the beds b/4 leaving. Lets just say I'm glad that we didn't have any showings today:eek: At least he tried though.. We have a Garvin GPS. Seems most people I know have the same one. Mine is about 3 years old and works fine. Though everyone coming to our house says the GPS tells them to turn left into our driveway and it is actually a right. I wonder if I update the map whether it would be corrected as this house is about 10yrs old so the maps on the GPS should be good:confused: When we drove to Maine 2 summers ago, I used the GPS, mapquest and maps to get there. Mapquest had the best directions.
Laurie - OMG, I can't believe you enjoyed 30/30. Way to go Insanity then. Really looking forward to the prom pics. Just love these milestone events. DH doesn't believe me when I say I'm looking forward to seeing DS's girlfriends down the road. I look forward to seeing young love blossom (and hopefully not to much painful whithering)
Okay, off to rest on the couch while I can.
