~~~~ Coolers in April ~~~
My baby is a teenager:D:confused::D:( He turns 13 today! Where the heck does the time go??? He was born in 1997, the week between the "Storm of the Century" and the "The Flood of the Century", it was quite the week:eek:
Busy weekend with birthday stuff. Went out to Boston Pizza for lunch (his choice), then he's going to the hockey game with friends and his cousin. Somehow this led to a big cousin's sleepover. Then tomorrow I'm having family over for birthday cake. Birthdays get complicated!
Of course lots of house stuff, I think we have 18 years worth of repair work to do:rolleyes: I think the house is ready for market but since we won't put in on the market till June we just keep finding things to fix, LOL
Patricia Wow $500 on Cathe stuff! That's a generous gift! Congrats you got signed up! I can't believe how fast it gets sold out.
Laurie Prom?? Grade 12?? DD and I are reading all the HP books together. DS and I did this when they each came out and she wanted to do the same. (she was too young when they first came out) I have to admit it's kind of boring as I've seen the movies/read all the books before. But it's nice to have that cudddle time. We're watching each movie as we finish the book. Just started book 3. It's great to see her wanting to read so much, she often begs to read a few pages more.
Did CCC this morning. I was supposed to do this on Thurs and be finished STS today but Thursday I just looked at CCC and said no way. I was just exhausted and this is a hard workout! I ended up taking off Thursday and Friday, tomorrow I will do my last STS workout!
Got to run to piano lessons!
Evening Coolers
Just relaxing and watching Celebrity Apprentice. Fri. night drove down to my parents and spent the weekend there. Sat. drove 1/2hr away to p/u a new Expedition that DH had bought over the phone earlier in the week. We're having fun figuring out all the bells and whistles:D We also put our boat in at the cottage along with the dock. Cottage season is almost upon us what with the early spring weather we're having. We had to be out of the house between 6-7 today so went out for supper and groceries.
Kim - I guess DS can't ask for the chocolate chip cookie and balloon at BP anymore now:D What a great milestone and you still might have another year b/4 he turns moody and uncommunicative:eek: LOL, the longer you wait the more work you'll find around the house. :D Great job on completing another STS round. I'm thinking maybe Sept before I can commit to it. I'm actually thinking of trying out CCC tomorrow as I haven't done it yet. It scares me too:rolleyes:
I'm a little disappointed with Cathe in that you can only use G.Cs on their shopcathe website. No good for RTs, downloads or for pre-orders:mad: Have not told DH I'm having to use my own $$ for the RT.:confused: I pretty much have everything I want from Cathe so their response was that GCs don't expire.
Friday I ran home at lunch and did Burn it Off, Sat. was my rest day and today I started the Push Phase so did Push Circuit #1. Had enough energy and had to work off some extra calories:rolleyes: fromt his weekend so did the first 27min of Cardio Fusion.
Morning Coolers,
Well I was a bum all weekend, but did manage to get in all my workouts. Friday was Max Recovery and house cleaning. Satruday was Max Interval Circuit & reading a book. Sunday was a rest day & reading a book. See a pattern here! :D Today's workout was Core Cardio & Balance, and of course I'm at work. :( :D
Patricia, I would be angry with the GC not being redeamable for the RT. Guess you have to hope that Cathe comes out with some new workouts. ;) Have a great time figuring out all the bells & whistles on the new vehicle.
Kim, Happy Birthday to you DS. Big time for your family when the first one is a teenager. We always let our girls choose the resturant also. Both girls picked the same place this year. :D That is really nice of you to read those books over again with your DD, and of course getting the cuddle time. ;) We have been in our house for 14 years, and really need to do some TLC to it too. This year we need to get the house painted. DD's prom is 11th grade. They usually have proms for Juniors & Seniors.
Have a great day!
Oh, Patricia, I wouldn't be happy about the gift card!:mad: Are there any of Cathe's old workouts that you don't have yet? Busy weekend for you! Any house offers yet? I'm getting very impatient with all the waiting to do with the house! It seems to take a long time to get to the actually building part.:rolleyes:
Laurie So what book are you reading?? I've been re reading Sue Grafton's books. Have you read any of those? The character is a private detective, Kinsey Millhone. The first book is "A for Alibi" and each book has a subsequent letter. I read the most recent one lately ("U") and decided to go back and reread the whole series and am really enjoying them. Many of them I read years ago, I'm up to "J".
Officially finished this STS round with MMA kickboxing. Thinking of doing the March rotation after a couple of days off. Did you try CCC Patricia, I'm curious to see what you thought. Laurie, have you tried CCC? It's the most like the Insanity workouts, I think you would like it!
My cousin who is one month younger than me (she's turning 41 this month) emailed to say she is becoming a grandma:( Can you imagine??
Morning Coolers,
Max Interval Plyo is finished. Went all out on this one, because I'm giving these workouts a good send-off. I'm going to be incorporating them into my STS rotation, but only doing one a week. ;)
Kim, The whole building process seems to take forever. At least the inside portion of the building seemed to take forever. They can get the structure up in no time, so you almost want it to be done right then and there. :D I have been reading the In Death series by J.D. Robb who is actually Nora Roberts. They are also murder mysteries, but set in the future. So you get good things like cars that fly! The detective in this series works for the police, and I have loved every book. I have never read the series you mention, should probably check them out. I love those type of books. My DH started reading the author that the TV series Bones is based on. He was reading those while in Vegas, so I'm curious how those books are. I really enjoy watching the TV show. See get me started on books, and I can't stop. :eek: I have not tried CCC yet, but according to my schedule, I will be attempting that workout on 4/30. LOL
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers
Monday night I started CCC and after the first 1/2 round I just wasn't in the mood. I thought I would just do each of the 3 drills, skip the repeat of the drills and do the abs work but after starting the 2nd round I gave up. Not in the mood and too much hi-impact. I like the music though. I guess if this is most like Insanity I know its not for me:rolleyes:
Kim - nope, no offers yet and I'm getting antsy even though 1 week isn't very long. We're going south this weekend to start looking at houses and would have preferred to have our house sold so as not to put in conditional offers:( I've read a few Grafton books. The last one I stopped about 50 pages left and just have not felt like finishing it. Once I put a book down I rarely pick it back up:eek: I'm sure in May the house building will just start flying. I think you wouldn't want to much started in the spring due to April showers. Your cousin could be a Great Grandma by the time she is in her 60s:p:eek: My Aunt had this issue and she wasn't impressed:rolleyes:
Laurie - I've read a few J.D. Robb books. I like her main female character. She's tough. That t.v. show Bones is based on a author Kathy Reichs book. I've read a few of her books as part of them are based out of Montreal as in real life she spends some of her time working for a Quebec University so its fun reading something with Canadian content.
Tonight is Push Circuit #2.
Afternoon Coolers,
Had to take my DD's to the dentist this morning, so am posting a little late today. Max Cardio Conditioning is finished, and still need to get an Ab workout done too. Hope I will be able to do that after work, usually get involved in getting dinner started so keep putting it off.
Patricia, Sometimes you can't get into a workout, so good for you for not pushing yourself to complete it when you where not into it. I sometimes get that way when reading a book. If something doesn't set right with me, I don't even like to continue reading it. I think that I like the In Death, because she usually starts out with a murder investigation. :eek: I'm just a sucker for the mystery type book.
Have a great day!
Afternoon Coolers
Last night I did Push Circuit #2. I'm really trying to go heaving and up to 8 reps only. Going out for dinner with the girls tonight, nothing fancy and won't be late so should get my Interval w/o in.
Trying to provide a list of houses to view this weekend and it's just mind boggling the choices to some extent. Plus some that I've looked at already have sold:rolleyes: This would be a lot more fun if we didn't have to travel and squish as much in on a weekend. Oh well!
Enjoying a couple of rest days. Work is a little quieter too so a nice relaxed couple of days. The house plans are FINALLY ready for us to sign off on but the sales guy didn't get a copy of the page with the finished basement and the office was closed by then:rolleyes: So hopefully we can get it done tomorrow but I was supposed to go out to goodbye dinner for a coworker so we'll see if we can fit it all in.
Patricia, I've been tempted not to finish CCC a couple of times. It's not an easy workout! Will you have to decide quickly on a house or if you see one you like can you think about it for a bit?
Laurie, I've read some of the Kathy Reichs books, the author and the main character both spend time in the USA and Canada. They're okay books but definitely not favourites. I think I've read some of J.D. Robb's books but can't think which ones.
Morning Coolers,
No workout for me yet, and a horrible sinus headache when I woke up. Felt great after a couple of sneezes, but by that time it was to late to workout. Maybe I should have just gotten my butt out of bed, but I will get the workout done after work.
DH is headed home from Vegas today, should be home around 5:30pm. Can't wait to give him a hug. :eek:
Patricia, Hope you get yourself a great list of houses to look at for the weekend. Did you have a good time with your friends last night?
Kim, Wish I had a smilie that was clapping his hands! That is so great that the plans are ready to sign, and hope you can squeeze a little time out of your day to get to do that. We had a coworkout farwell yesterday, but I was not able to attend. Since I was the only one home, had to get the girls picked up from practice. :(
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Just finished watching Survivor. Before that I got in Push #3 along with Med Ball Abs. Just doing laundry and tyding up for going away this weekend. We have a showing tomorrow afternoon and an open house on Sat. so hopefully some bites. This is KILLING me. We think we found our dream house and if it is as good in person as on-line I would love to put in an offer this weekend. I guess I'll have to run home at lunch to get in my cardio tomorrow as we will drive down to the city after work. I haven't even booked the hotel yet:rolleyes:
Laurie - Yuck on the sinus headache. Do you get migraines too? I'm lucky I don't suffer from either. I forgot you're playing single Mom this week. Any special dinner plans for Hubby's return?
Kim - good on catching the mistake. I'm envious if you're moving into a brand new house with a FINISHED basement:cool: Does this mean your colours are picked too?
Morning Coolers,
Max Interval Sports Training is finished. Three days left of Insanity!
Patricia, Cool that you found a great house, cross my fingers that when you see it you get the same vibe. I do not get migranes, and I'm thankful for that. It just is the pressure in my forehead and eyes that kills me. Funny about the dinner plans with DH, he has been eating out for a solid seven days. All he wanted when he got home was a grilled cheese. LOL :D This morning he asked if there was cottage cheese in the fridge. Of course I had some, and I don't know how many times he said thank you. :D Too funny. Do you see a cheese pattern, I think he had gone through cheese withdrawl. :eek::D
Kim, Did you manage to get those papers signed yesterday?
Have a great day!
Oh, Patricia, can you share the link of the house??? I hope it is the perfect house and works out for you!
We still haven't signed off on our house plans! The sales guy doesn't seem to know where the basement plans are:(:mad: He's not even sure if they're been done yet! There doesn't seem to be very good communication between the sales office and the corporate office! Nope, no colours picked yet, that will be the next step though! Yes finished basement and deck. We're doing it the lazy (but expensive) way! DH hates doing that kind of stuff (and is not good at it) so we would have to hire someone anyways so we're just getting it done now. We should just have the landscaping to do.
Laurie, that's funny, as cheese is exactly what I crave when I'm away. The first thing I often have when I get home is toast with cheese. Did DH have a good trip?
I can't believe you're almost done Insanity!
Goodness, that'a big house Patricia!! It's beautiful!!!! Good luck with it!
They found our basement plans so will go over tomorrow and sign off on the plans and then on to the next step.
Finished Muscle Endurance for some reason I was thinking this would be an easy workout after STS. It wasn't:( All the multiple reps was such a change from Meso 3. Be interesting to see if I'm sore tomorrow.
Evening Coolers
An unsuccessful day looking at houses. The one I previously mentioned already has a conditional sale on it so didn't even get to look at it:(. Anything else we looked at just was not suitable at all and need lots of work (but house not priced appropriately). We revising our budget higher:eek: and looking at more tomorrow.
Kim - I have a feeling STS doesn't prepare you for making other w/os any easier:D:p Hope you're not too sore tomorrow.
So sorry that the house didn't work out for you.:(:(
We had a good house day. We went over to the showhome office and signed off on the house plans. It was good to see the detailed plans, the back yard is bigger than I realized it would be. I was also excited to find out that the permit application has already gone it. So we should be able to pick out colours within the next 2weeks and digging will start as soon as they get the permit. Sept 14th is still a possiblity but October is looking more likely. Still cleaning and decluttering around here.
My biceps were sore today from ME! Did Imax 2 today, my all time favourite workout and haven't done it in awhile .
Evening Coolers
Just sitting down after my w/o now. Did Push Circuit #1 - thankfully it's only 35min. We didn't get home until after 8 and I still need to do some laundry yet and get DS's lunch made for tomorrow.
Another unfruitful day house hunting. We're going back to the drawing board and expanding our search to a couple different neighbourhoods. I can't believe what people think they should get for their homes. So much of what we say this week needed maybe another $50-$100k worth of work to it.
Kim - have fun (and hope you don't get too stressed out picking colours). Yeah, I figure on a new home estimate about 1mo later than originally planned.
Morning Coolers,
I'm finished with Insanity! :D This morning was the Fit Test and Cardio Abs that I didn't get to yesterday. Actually was a great combo, really feel my abs right now.
Results
Day1/Day15/Day36/Day50/Day 64
Switch Kicks: 120/128/130/128/125
Power Jacks: 54/55/58/55/58
Power Knees: 92/102/109/108/120
Power Jumps: 43/54/61/66/70
Globe Jumps: 9/10/11/11/11
Suicide Jumps: 20/23/23/23/25
Push-Up Jacks: 20/25/29/32/39
Low Plank Oblique: 44/70/87/95/102
Will see what type of results I got from my measurements, just didn't get to that. I didn't really lose weight, probably a couple of pounds. My major goal for this rotation was to up my endurance, and that was accomplished.
Kim, Congrats on getting those house plans signed. Now all the fun can begin. :D Funny how lifting heavy and then going to an endurance workout will kick those muscles in a different way. Are you going to be having a garage sale with all the decluttering you are doing?
Patricia, So sorry that the house hunt was not so good. How has your DS been doing with the house hunt process?
Have a great day!
