Hi Coolers,
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. Didn't overeat too much, but did enjoy a couple small pieces of homemade chocolate and homemade banana cream pie. I came home with some sweet potato casserole (after making sure everyone took what they wanted) and dumped it in the trash before I even walked into the house. My bike ride in the morning found 2 other riders joining in and we rode about 24 miles on a beautiful Thanksgiving morning.
Friday, I went thru a kettlebell tutorial, then did the workout. Today I am feeling it in my hamstrings and glutes, but not terribly so. I have an 18# KB, which was fine for swings, but for some of the moves, I used an 8#, 10# and 12# DB. I just didn't want to risk injuring a shoulder. You do get a cardio workout on the swings for sure. Think it will be a really good workout for my core strength, more of a functional fitness feel, without choreography. The DVD is Art of Strength, The Kettlebell Way #1. I also have #2 to work with.
Today's workout was 4DS HIS, step only, then followed up wih Christi Taylor's Solid Gold Step, for a total of about 60 minutes of step (long workout for me).
Tomorrow is a group bike ride, then golf with a couple friends and my DH. The weather should be in the low 60's/high 50's tomorrow, unusually warm. Looking forward to the golf game and hoping I'm not too nervous. Got to stay mellow, mellow.
Kim, I've got a bit of some scratchiness in my throat tonite. Must have picked up something from my DH. I drank some Airborne tonite. Should go drink some more before I go to bed. I'm thinking I'll either start a kettlebell rotation here in December, which will be KB's 2-3 times a week, with some cardio on in between days. I should finish the last few days of the November rotation, but not really feeling enthused. Someone needs to crack the whip on me!
Patricia, how was the party? Did you get some Christmas shopping done? I usually end up getting some kind of books for my Dad. He loves history. He only reads stories that are true. He just isn't interested in fantasy or fiction. He's such a fuddy, duddy LOL! I will be buying Christmas tree permits this week and we'll go out to get trees next Saturday. How is DS's thumb?
Laurie, have you read the Twilight book? Has your DD finished it yet? I also worry about my parents falling when there is snow and ice. I'm watching PBS on TV, Celtic Woman. Very good. Hope your Thanksgiving was good.
Better sign off and go get some Airborne.
