Rest day here for me! Just thought I would start a new thread for the week!

Patricia I've never heard of a day care completely closing like that but I could see it being necessary occasionally. Good thing your ds hasn't got sick. DH and dd are still coughing away, at least they're sick now and not 2 weeks from now. My DS is getting better, his spirits seem much improved. He sure enjoyed having his buddies over on the weekend. Next week we can start the walking/swimming program :D:D

Evening Coolers

Just relaxing after a busy day. Got up and out of the house early. Went and got DH's thumb x-rayed then off to breakfast and to purchase more outdoors lights. After that to the mail to exchange some clothes that I bought that we slightly too small:( That's what I get for not trying them on in the 1st place. Got home and finished putting up the outdoor lights.

Lets see, during DS's nap I did BB Timesaver #1 - Chest & Tri's. A friend came over to buy some of DS's baby things still hanging around. Oh yes, after DS's nap we decorated the tree. It was cute as he was really into it and didn't need any explaining or help. Wanted a box of decorations all to himself for putting up. I should have taped it as I'm sure in a few years I'll be having to bribe him for help:D

Kim - hope you enjoyed your rest day. Always have to look on the bright side I guess if you have to be sick. Glad to hear DS is feeling better.

Okay, off to become a couch potatoe.

Good morning, Coolers!

Yesterday was my rest day and I enjoyed it! I like getting to sleep in an extra hour. Today was Bootcamp from the Intensity Series and I actually did the entire thing!

Tonite is celebrating 50 year birthdays with a girlfriend who'll be 50 on Friday. We're going out for a glass of wine tonite and to plan a girl's road trip for next near. One that involves shopping, hiking, cycling and golf.

Patricia, how do you like Butts & Guts? I got my kettlebell DVD's yesterday and will probably try them out over the holiday this weekend. Bet your house is looking nice with the Christmas decorations.

Kim, so glad to hear DS is feeling better. Darn on your DD and DH now being sick. Hope that disappears soon.

Hope everyone has a great day today.

Morning!

Yesterdays workout was 15 min run outside (a little icy on the roads), and then some upper body at the gym. Tonight will be 45 min run, probably on the TM. I'm hoping to get in an outdoor run at least twice a week. Figure the Monday, and Saturday one. Now all I need to do is get some Under Armour for those really cold days!

Kim, Sorry to hear that our house is full of sick people! :( It will be all over with before Christmas, which is a good thing. :)

Patricia, DH and oldest DD put up our outdoor lights on Sunday. Good thing they did, because we got a blanket of snow on Monday! LOL about having to bribe your DS to help you put up the deco! Yes that does indeed happen. They love to decorate there own trees though. Each of my girls has their own tree in their room.

Jeanette, Have a great time with your gf's tonight, sounds like lots of talking/drinking/laughing will go on. At least that is what happens when I go out with my gf's. WTG on the Bootcamp! That is one tough workouts.

Laurie

Circuit Max done! Finishing up week 4 of the November rotation, I've enjoyed this rotation.

Laurie Careful with that ice! Have you tried out the track at the gym? I figure that the family are just getting all the germs out of the way before vacation and Christmas. :D They know better than to get sick while on holidays:rolleyes:

Jeanette Have fun with your friends tonight!

Patricia What happened with DH's thumb?????

Kim

Good Tues. Evening Coolers

Got home from work and couldn't get into our driveway. It snowed overnight and DH didn't shovel b/4 going to work and I don't have time what with getting DS to day-care. So not only all the snow getting wet and heavy all day long to content with but the huge pile left over from the snow plow took a LONG time to chop down and clear away. I didn't mind too much as it was quite nice out and as long as the snow isn't too heavy I don't mind shovelling. DS had fun playing with his toboggan while we shovelled.

Let's see did W/O #2 - back/core from the Timesaver DVD. Going away for the weekend so won't get Friday's w/o in so will somehow squish the next 3 w/o's into the next 2 days.

Kim - glad to hear you enjoyed Nov's rotation. I think next week I'm going to go back to the Gym Styles and try for some strength gains (as long as my right arm holds up):( I don't know what happend to DH's thumb. July07 I noticed that he couldn't straighten it. I could "pull" it back in place but after a few minutes it would just go back to being slightly flexed. I had it x-rayed and they said no abnormalities so I figured I would just give it some time and see what happens. I wonder if it is something wrong with his tendon and feel that if that is the case he would be old enough to sit for any physio if req'd. Will call the Dr maybe tomorrow to see if she has the results yet. My chiro said that laser works well on kids - can't use ultrasound due to the growth plates.

Laurie - stay clear of the ice, yikes. Is DD enjoying the gym? Do they have kettlebells that you could try out?

Jeanette - sounds like you extending your BD celebrations. Works for me:D. I scared of B&G and so far have only done some chapters. Pretty soon will have to try it from the beginning!:p

Okay, off to watch Sara Connor Chronicles - Terminator that I taped last night.

Morning,
Today was the All Step premix from Cardio Fusion. Was fun. Tonite is a bike spin session with the Garage Boys. After that will be making my Thanksgiving dishes. Had a nice time with my girlfriend last night. We just had one glass of wine so no hangover for me.

Patricia, is it your DH or DS's thumb that is injured? Of all of Cathe's leg workouts, B&G is he most fun one for me as there is so much variation to it. Bet you will be surprised that it's not that bad. Darn on all that snow shoveling. Looking dry here for a while longer. We sure need moisture this winter. The fires in California have just been sooooo bad.

Kim, I don't have Circuit Max so was going to sub with Step, Jump and Pump, but remembered that I did Bootcamp yesterday, so did step today instead. Not sure if I'll work out tomorrow morning in addition to my bike ride. We'll see. I probably should with the desserts I will be eating LOL!

Laurie, yuck, ice. Hate that stuff. Do the girls have artificial trees in their rooms? You've reminded me again that I need to get a Christmas tree permit soon. I can't think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. You know what a procrastinator I am.

Must run,

Morning!

Had a great run yesterday, and today will be lower body and a 30 min. run. The run will probably be on the running track.

Getting out early from work, so only working a half day. Need to get some prep work done for Turkey day!

Kim, Yes actually I have tried out the track, and I'm planning to run outdoors Mon & Sat., TM Tue & Thurs and Wed will be the running tack. I will be watching out for the ice from now on, it was just a bit of surprise because I really couldn't see it until my foot did a slide.

Patricia, We didn't get a lot of snow, but our driveway didn't get shoveled either until we got home. I'm hoping the warmer weather today will melt some of it, so that Dh's parents don't slip in the driveway tomorrow. I think DD is enjoying the gym. Yesterday she was on the elliptical, and reading a book. I couldn't say anything about it because she is reading, that is like a great accomplishment. LOL! She is reading Twilight before she goes to see the movie. Who would have thought that the spark would be a vampire romance! You know I have not seen any kettlebells at the gym. But then they might use them for the classes.

Jeanette, Yep the girls have artificial, we only have those in our house. Used to have real trees, but they get dried out and needles fall all over the place. LOL!  Have a great time with the GB's tonight.

Laurie

Oh my goodness, I just finished Cardio Fusion, and feel almost sick! What a workout!:rolleyes:

Hope you all have a great turkey day tomorrow!!

Ev)ening Cooles

Worked a little late then home to help finish shovelling the driveway again. (hmm, should have stayed at work longer:D:D)

I did the W/O#4 from the Timesaver dVd - basically KPC along with shoulders and added in biceps.

Tomorrow will have to cram in packing, my w/o and watching Survivor.:)

Kim - WOW, you completed CF? I bow down to you. I stop about 1/2 way thru the drills.

Hope the American Coolers enjoy their Thanksgiving tomorrow

Off to bed as I'm seeing double....

Morning All

Nice winter wonderland here. Don't mind it as it's still fairly warm.

Our acctg program is getting a major upgrade so can't do anything on it until Monday. I can probably find enough work today to keep me busy w/o needing the program but not sure what i'm going to do tomorrow. Since we're driving to T.O. tomorrow night it might be a good day to duck out early. Hopefuly DH can too:)

Hope everyone has a good day.

Ugg, definitely getting a cold (sore throat, sneezing). Busy day at work, getting groceries, I was so tempted to skip my workout but I did it!! PS legs/abs completed!

Patricia What's in TO this weekend? Did you hear about ds's thumb? Sounds like you have lots of snow already! We just have a inch or two, today it was melting felt like spring. What do you think of the government situation?

Hope everyone else is enjoying their Thanksgiving dinners!
Kim

Morning Coolers

Kim - did legs & abs last night too - from the Timesaver BB series. I must say I liked this weeks w/o - short and sweet! Thanks for the reminder about DS's thumb. I meant to call yesterday but forgot so just wrote posted note to not forget today. It's our company's Xmas party Sat. night. Its at the Westin Harbour Castle right down town. We will drive to my sister's tonight and leave DS there with her on Sat. and come back Sun to p/u. We did the same last year. I tell you renting a hotel room in the same facility as the party is the way to go. There will be around 400 people and lots that I have not seen since last year due to my move here for work. I'll go to the Eaton Centre and try and finish up some Xmas shopping. (I just have to figure out what to get my FIL:( I always get him books - what else do you get?)

I watched the news last night and couldn't believe the opposition wanted to have a new election. I would think if that happened the PC's would end up with a Majority b/c I would be STEAMING. I don't think anyone has the answer to the economy right now so to blame this on the PC's is ridicoulous.:( Thats my rant for today.

Okay, off to get some work done so I can leave early hopefully.

Still fighting this head cold UGH! Have fun at the Christmas party Patricia!
I think I stayed at the Westin Harbour last November when I was in TO on business, nice hotel!

I did LIS and PS Back, Biceps and Abs this morning. Jeanette are still hanging in with the Nov rotation??

Going to head out to the pool, ds and I are going to try a few laps while dd has her lessons. I really don't feel up to it, but ds is excited to get started on his rehab

Hi Coolers,
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. Didn't overeat too much, but did enjoy a couple small pieces of homemade chocolate and homemade banana cream pie. I came home with some sweet potato casserole (after making sure everyone took what they wanted) and dumped it in the trash before I even walked into the house. My bike ride in the morning found 2 other riders joining in and we rode about 24 miles on a beautiful Thanksgiving morning.

Friday, I went thru a kettlebell tutorial, then did the workout. Today I am feeling it in my hamstrings and glutes, but not terribly so. I have an 18# KB, which was fine for swings, but for some of the moves, I used an 8#, 10# and 12# DB. I just didn't want to risk injuring a shoulder. You do get a cardio workout on the swings for sure. Think it will be a really good workout for my core strength, more of a functional fitness feel, without choreography. The DVD is Art of Strength, The Kettlebell Way #1. I also have #2 to work with.

Today's workout was 4DS HIS, step only, then followed up wih Christi Taylor's Solid Gold Step, for a total of about 60 minutes of step (long workout for me).

Tomorrow is a group bike ride, then golf with a couple friends and my DH. The weather should be in the low 60's/high 50's tomorrow, unusually warm. Looking forward to the golf game and hoping I'm not too nervous. Got to stay mellow, mellow.

Kim, I've got a bit of some scratchiness in my throat tonite. Must have picked up something from my DH. I drank some Airborne tonite. Should go drink some more before I go to bed. I'm thinking I'll either start a kettlebell rotation here in December, which will be KB's 2-3 times a week, with some cardio on in between days. I should finish the last few days of the November rotation, but not really feeling enthused. Someone needs to crack the whip on me!

Patricia, how was the party? Did you get some Christmas shopping done? I usually end up getting some kind of books for my Dad. He loves history. He only reads stories that are true. He just isn't interested in fantasy or fiction. He's such a fuddy, duddy LOL! I will be buying Christmas tree permits this week and we'll go out to get trees next Saturday. How is DS's thumb?

Laurie, have you read the Twilight book? Has your DD finished it yet? I also worry about my parents falling when there is snow and ice. I'm watching PBS on TV, Celtic Woman. Very good. Hope your Thanksgiving was good.

Better sign off and go get some Airborne.

Jeanette

Just finished the November rotation :D:D Did the 4ds Kickbox (cardio only) and 125 lunges each leg. (When Cathe says 200 lunges is that 200 each leg?) Still feeling the effects of this head cold ending up sleeping yesterday afternoon and not going to my nephew's birthday party (DH took the kids). Not sure how much I'll do today, have some plans but nothing that can't be cancelled so will see how I feel.

Jeanette I hope you're not getting sick! Our house is just so full of germs! Sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving!

Kim
