COMMIT TO GET FIT & LEAN FOR AUG 26,2011

Morning all! What a terrible night! :( DH came home from work complaining that he felt a little achy, which was my first symptom. I asked him if he wanted to postpone dinner, but he insisted we go. He said he was looking forward to it, yada yada yada. We get ready, babysitter comes, we head out, all seems okay. I notice as he is driving, DH is turning on the AC one minute, then off the next. I asked him if he was okay, and he said yea, just feeling hot and cold. I said that is not a good thing, but he said he would be okay. We are on the highway when suddenly he asks me if I want to drive. I ask him if he is okay, and he says yes, as he is suddenly slowing down (they drive like speed demons on the highway here, and I got freaked out because he was slowing down fast and not pulling over). I kept telling him to pullover and he kept saying, "I am," but he wasn't. I took the wheel and moved the car over to the shoulder. He was breathing heavy and he was cold but sweating. I thought he was having a heart attack or something. He said he was seeing spots. It was terrifying. I wanted to take him to the hospital, but he insisted we did not go and after a few minutes he was okay as far as being coherent and the cold sweat was gone. I drove home and took his temp, he had 101 fever. he is sick with what Chris and I had. He also did not eat anything yesterday, not even breakfast because he was so busy at work and rushed home to go out for our dinner. He feels terrible. I don't care about the dinner, it just terrified me. I thought we were going to get in an accident and that he was really having a heart attack.

To make matters worse, I slept for maybe two or three hours last night. DH kept me up a bit, then Chris woke up twice. It was quite a night. Now, I have to go shopping because apparently there is a hurricane coming!

The last hurricane to hit LI was Hurricane Gloria (first hurricane to have a female name, I believe, at least that was the one cool fact I remembered learning as a kid, I was always a feminist, lol). It knocked down a lot of trees on my block, and I we did not have power for weeks. I remember our only light was a car headlight that my dad hooked up to an extra car battery. No hot water, no stove, no school (which was great at first, but then I wanted hot water and electricy). I don't know what category Gloria was. I am just glad I live in the center of the island and not on the shore. Now I have to go to the supermarket before the crowds come in. Going now. Getting water, milk, matches, all that good stuff.

My workout for today will be 4 DS KB. I think I need to do some kicking and puncing, lol.

BBL,
Kristin

Kirstin (((HUGS))) so sorry, about your DH. Glad he is ok. Maybe he should go to the hospital if he starts feeling like yesterday, IMO! That is scary!
Yeah, you need some kicking today. Enjoy, girl!

Amelia - enjoy your walk, and AS and UB today.

Waves Hallo to the rest of the gang. Getting ready to walk the dogs than my workouts. BBL!

Good Morning ladies,

Today's wo was LIC + 35 min walk to work. My body is aching! Hope that means good things are happening:cool: Looking forward to my rest day tomorrow;)

Belinda - Sounds like a winner today! Enjoy:D

Helene - Your CLX plan sounds kick butt! Since they are not too long, I definitely think you can do the doubling up and working in some of the low impact wos! And I think shaking things up a bit is a good thing and WILL bring results. Especially with you tracking like no tomorrow:cool: Throw spinning and the elliptical in the mix, and your body won't know what hit it! LOL! Do you own any wos for the ellitpical? If not, definitely check out www.cardiocoach.com and www.itrain.com. My endurance on the elliptical has increased working with these wos. Ok, rest up on vacay. When you get back, it's time to work, work!

Kristin - Nice wo yesterday. My AC DVD is missing (I don't know how my fitness DVDs end up missing...no one does them but me!!). I miss No Equip & pilates abs:( How scary about DH! Is his temp back down near normal? And this friggin' hurricane isn't helping any. I'm planning a shopping trip after work. Hope there's still a few things left on the shelves. Think you might need a nap before tackling 4DSKB?

Amelia - So, are you headed to Belks to find some great deals?? I'm trying to dodge a cold. Symptoms one day, then none the next! LOL! Hope your's passes soon. Enjoy your dog walk & your wo;)

Have a great day everyone...and weekend (just in case there's no power:eek:).

Morning.

Belinda: Happy workout :) You still liking JM30DS?

Trish: Yes, I think it's time to shaky shaky. My body is used to my slacking. It's in for a surprise! I have quite a few CCs I got one time they were having a sale. I've been thinking of checking out itrains. Let me know if you have any faves or any coupons come by.

Kristin: Oh my gosh. Hugs to you lady. That is VERY scary. I think I would still be freaked out a day later. You might be. :( So sorry. I hope that he can get over with this quickly. What a nasty bug! What is it about the 11 year wedding anniversary? DH and I forgot yours and you have this happen. Ugh. OK, and your description of Gloria does not sound good.

Amelia: I think the hurricane is going to pass you by. That's a good thing. After reading Kristin's post, if you are not feeling well ..... DON'T DRIVE. I think this will be a good year to get the flu shots...... but, I hope it passes.

Hi to everyone else. Tomorrow we're off but now I'm worried a bit about the house with the bad weather coming. I hope we are far enough inland that it doesn't matter. But they actually say we can get hit pretty hard up here too.

In the meantime..... back to work......

Just a quick check in.

I am done with my workouts. We are leaving Hapers Ferry due to the Huricane coming our way. If you don't hear from me tomorrow, I am on the road. Will check in when I can. Stay safe everyone!

LBB done at 9:46 at night. What a day! I had to go get food and supplies to be prepared for Irene. It was a zoo in every store. Luckily I have everything we can possibly need. Now just waiting to see what will happen. DH has been sick all day, so I had to bring in the patio furniture and patio swing and all that stuff into the garage for safe keeping. I wanted to go to my school on Monday to set up my room, but all buildings will be closed with the exception of the high school, which they are using as a shelter. I am scared!

Thanks for all the hugs. You guys are the best. I will bb tomorrow to catch up on personals. I just want to chill out now while everyone is asleep, maybe watch a chick flick.

Kristin
