CLEAN up your act and TIDY your room July 12

Morning tidiers. Yesterday was pretty close to the master plan posted. We did go out for dinner, but I ordered a pasta and veggie dish and only ate half. Couldn't skip the bruscetta though.

I can't wait to be dazzled by Beav's menu today.

Wendi, do you have another job lined up? Is it horse related?

Bfast - Kashi cereal with soy milk, banana
Lunch - the rest of last night's pasta dish, carrots, berry salad
Snack - cherries
Dinner - Uh oh, I'm going to a baby shower. The menu includes subs, which I can turn into a healthy turkey sandwich, munchies and cake. I hope someone brings veggies and I know someone is making a watermelon baby carridge.
Workout - If I can sneak out of the shower early enough, Kick Max Low Impact Timesaver - If not, it will be a rest day.

Have a great day and keep your eyes on the prize. And I don't mean cake.

Good morning Robin and all who follow!

Thanks for asking. It's nothing that will happen in the immediate future. I told him that I would not leave until he is back on his feet (literally, he tore his MCL, ACL, miniscus and broke his tibia). He has done a lot for me over the years and I refuse to leave him high and dry like that. I also told him that I needed the money from the sale of my pony to go back to school. Since I found Cathe and this site I've become very passionate about nutrition and fitness and feel like this is something I could do for a living...besides that it's better hours, better salary, etc. I have a feeling I'll be asking for a lot of advice/support here while I'm on this journey. I need to get as far away from horses as I can. There was a post in Open Discussion about being in the wrong career and, when I read it yesterday, it hit home so hard that I had to fight all day long to keep from sobbing. Now here's the funny part...he agreed with everything I said, completely, and thought that my pursuit of a career in nutrition was a wonderful idea. Oh, but it gets even better! He then told me how much he hates it, too, but couldn't figure a way out, either  ! So we have a plan (it needs to be fleshed out a bit more thoroughly) to close down over the next 6 months to a year. This gives us both time to secure jobs and start to prepare for our next steps...he wants to go back to school as well and become a counselor.

So now the tears that are flowing are happy tears, tears of relief that the light at the end of the tunnel is now at least visible. The deal on my pony is moving forward and I'm praying that nothing comes along to screw it up. I've got a mini vacay coming next week...in fact, my boss extended it by 2 days :7.

So that's my ramble for the day. I'm sorry you all had to "listen". In the meantime I'm going to do my best to "out-dazzle" Beavs today :p!

B - spinach and mushroom egg white omelette
S - steel cut oats with blueberries
L - salad with shrimp, apple, nat PB on a slice of flaxseed bread
S - plain yogurt with black caps
D - flank steak, grilled balsamic veggies, mashed sweet potatoes
NO dessert!

Thanks again and have a great day everyone!

Wendi, I'm so glad you and your boss see eye to eye. I get the impression from you and others I have talked to in the past that a job like yours is good when you are young, single and passionate about horses, but that it is hard, hard work and you burn out in time. Best of luck with the nutrition/fitness type career. I've often thought, as I'm sure many others on this forum, that fitness could be a rewarding job, but I'm afraid my current job pays more and I'm not sure I could deal that closely with people. Keep us posted with any changes as they occur.

Wow, Wendi, what a breakthrough! I hope all your plans continue to follow the direction you desire!

Robin good luck at the shower. It sounds like you have a good plan. The hard part will be avoiding the cake }(

I am dazzled by the eating so far! Geez, I'm a little askeered to post today. :)

Yesterday went OK.

B - oatmeal
S - apple
L - quinoa, tiny bit of chicken, mixed veggies
S - apple and I caved and had a couple of pretzels
D - oatmeal again
S - graham crackers(I'm not going to tell you how many!)

Wow! Everybody's doing so good today!

Robin, the cake would be so hard to resist for me. I can pass up any fried food, potato chip, etc. but if you put cake in front of me...watch out!

I'm not even sure what is for breakfast yet! DDs will want pancakes or waffles or something, but they're just leftovers in the freezer so they'll be easy to not eat. I'll probably have some shredded wheat. I bought some steel cut oats to try (I hate oatmeal) but I'm too scared to eat it!

I have no clue about what my day will bring. Thursdays are always crazy. Tonight my sis and I are going out to eat and shopping! We haven't had a sister date in a long time.

It should be fairly easy to keep it clean today. I'm seeing results and it's very motivating. I love when I get in a good groove! However, my sister's boyfriend is spending the weekend here so I'll likely be making tons of food that will be hard to resist! Why do we do this to ourselves?!

Have a C/T day! BBL.

Hello Clean and tidy ladies,
Wow, lots of posts already, so good to see, its about 8am here in Toronto, much cooler today.
Robin, enjoy the shower, i've only been to a few in my life, i try to avoid them!
Wendi, if you need support, you've got it here!! Career and family are the biggest things in life really. When one is in change, it feels as if everything is our of joint.
Phyllis, Pretty damn clean eating to me!!! I love pretzels :)
Kate, we're having a weekend guest extravaganza next week, can you BBQ for you sister and sisters BF? I'm doing veggie burgers, corn etc, trying to keep it clean for me, fun for the non-cleaners :), without telling them of coarse!
Today, all good so far, but its 8am!!
B-oats as usual, with fresh market raspberries and almond milk
workout, 4am, MM.
BBL
best
Steph

Stephanie! How on earth do you do a 4 AM workout!? What time do you go to bed at night?!

Well, I tried steel-cut oats. Not super. I ate them and they were okay but I kind of feel nauseous. I could eat them again but Kasi is definetly my breakfast of choice.

Well, I'm off for swim max - wrestling my 3 yo. DD in the pool for swimming lessons!

Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

I didn't do so well last night. I guess I am better
off working the evening then staying home.
It was so hot here , that when my kids asked
for ice cream I could not resist. Oh well, today is a new day:)

Kate:I love oatmeal in the cool months.
Phyllis: way to go on your eating!
Robin: Baby showers are tough with all those goodies that show up.
Wendi: glad things are going your way.
Stephanie: 4AM:eek:

I need to go grocery shopping today. It is a battle to go
with a 13yr old and a 6yr old.

B: multi grain cereal, skim, pear and cottage cheese.
Not sure for the rest of the day as I have no more food.

My work out this morning was B&G Standing and abs.

Have a great day!!

Elaine

Hello again
Clearly, i'm not working too hard today :)
The 4am workout...started a year ago, when i taught a nice class, so couldnt workout after work, like every other day. Now, its habbit, so i do a 4am workout Thursdays and Fridays. Never cardio, i'd faint for sure!!
Elaine, grocery shopping is my favourite thing, and i'm lucky because DH likes it too. I spend hours a week at markets, groceries, whole foods, hey, maybe that's why we have no friends :)
Steph

Do you have your Tom Cruise shades handy Robin? :D :7

Bfast: egg white omelette with peppers, 'shrooms, onions and slice of ezekiel with a tsp of almond butter
Snack: grapes
Lunch: salad greens with sesame seeds and a bit of lemon poopy seed dressing as well as Annie's organic whole wheat mac& cheese shells with tofu and veggies mixed in
Snack: applesauce
Dinner: TBD but dang it! It'll be clean.

My w/o was this a.m. (shocking indeed) and was the KickMax low impact premix from Cathe's rotation.

I did some thinking and realized that I have to build a bit of naughtiness into my day or I just won't feel satisfied and end up seeking out crap...hence the cup of mac& cheese.

It sounds like you are all doing great but I do wonder why Phyllis feels so guilty about a handful of pretzels (or is it a bag of pretzels? ;-) ) I think Wendi has out bedazzled me and has found her path in life to boot (isn't it a relief?!). I hope you all have a great day!

OK, I'm joining back in! I've still been eating pretty clean/ tidy but am reading Tosca's book and am inspired again!! It's interesting how close to clean eating I've done just from my own reading and experimenting!! I *always* start my day w/ a 20 oz bottle of water & cup of coffee. :)

Liquids ~ 40 oz water, cup of coffee

Breakfast ~ Oatmeal w/ 1 T. wheat germ (out of flax!), 1 T. NM PB, 1/2 c. cott. cheese, and blueberries

Not sure on the plan for the rest of the day. We've had VBS (Vacation Bible school) all week, so our meals have been light & eating early (around 4:30) to get there on time.

Welcome back, Jess!

I love my water too.

Lunch was good today. Not clean, but tidy. An entire container of the world's salsa, the best pear ever, and some tortilla chips. I probably had too many t.chips but they are so salty and so good. I had a protein bar not too long before lunch - will have some more protein later. I swear, I can't ever get enough salsa. My total weakness. Funny thing is I thought I HATED it until about 6 months ago!

Hoping to fit in some lower body weights tonight. Wish me luck!

Hey Kate! Thanks for the welcome back! I'm a total water-a-holic, I always have my water with me. I have to have it in the van w/ me, my kids know Mommy will always have a water bottle!

Here's the rest of my day....

At least another 80 oz of water

AM Snack ~ Warmed apple topped w/ vanilla yogurt, 1/4 c. cott. cheese, 1 T. wheat germ, 1 T. walnuts & cinnamon; 2 boiled egg whites

Lunch ~ Stir fry veggie frittata (1/2 c. eggbeaters, 1 egg white) w/ tofu; edamame in the shell

Snack ~ 1/2 choc. mochaccino protein shake w/ 4 oz light soymilk

Dinner plan (another night of VBS!) ~ Chicken tenderloins over salad & vinaigrette, baked sweet potato

And forgot to add in my exercise ~ Core SynergisticsX. I'm on day 89 so I'm almost an *official* grad!!! Woohoo!

Good to see you again, Jess!!!

Beavs, my eyes, my eyes...too bright!!! I am truly dazzled.

Phyllis, psha! Pretzels never hurt anyone!

Wendi, you sound great and like you are making some positive changes. You could always do volunteer work with horses to stay involved.

Robin, love today's title. Mmmmmm...bruschetta and cake (yeah, not together).

Steph, I workout between 4 and 5 when I'm working. I like the peacefulness of the early mornings.

Kate, I love my Kashi!!! :D

Elaine, I'm not sure I could resist ice cream on a hot evening.

So far, I have had my Kashi and chocolate soy milk, some low-fat cheese slices, lots of watermelon. I am getting ready to go get my hair cut and colored and am then meeting some friends for SUSHI!!! Mmmmmm!

Today's workout was Jari Love's Get Ripped to the Core and some extra sets of chest, abs, and biceps.

Have a clean/tidy day!!!

Oh, Beavs, I think you got me. I caved and had a peanut butter granola bar today...DRAT! I'll get ya tomorrow though :p.

I only have a second because I've got bowling tonight and have to get my arse in gear but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the kind words. The sense of relief between my boss and I was almost palpable.

Everyone keep up the great work! You guys are all so motivating.

Have a good night,
