*.*.* clean & tidy snowy friday *.*.*

So...... Somehow over the past 24 hours, meteorologists have started talking about a significant storm that no one had even mentioned before yesterday. And apparently, this storm is going to bring snow, ice, and high winds - AWESOME! Check out this map...

I live in Virginia, right on the border of the darkest blue and the next lightest blue. They are calling for a foot or more of snow!

Would you leave and travel out of town, knowing you had to drive back in a foot of snow? There is just no reason to drive in that weather if you don't HAVE TO. Right? I am very torn over this decision, as you may be sensing...

But oh well, I am off work today anyway so I will just hang around and bake cookies and wrap presents and wait for the storm to come.

I am feeling much better, and may attempt an interval walk/run this morning.

BBIAB!

good morning!

katie, i am a big fan of not driving in bad weather. perhaps go before the storm starts, or wait till after it is done? how long are you off work for? and what cookies are you making???

kate, busy but fun day for you. how nice of laura!

bad night of sleep, but i am okay this am. made myself get on the tm, and i am happy i did. i may go to the fitness center later to do a group class of some sort. it is supposed to pour al day, so i wanted the kids to play (they have some cool stuff indoors at the fitnesss center), also plan to go to the library and make ginger bread. i found this cool hodgson mill mix that is all whole wheat:cool: still recovering from my sugar binge yday, so i will keep it all clean and natural today. i may even treat myself to a salad out.

wendy, thanks for the idea on the kale. i will give it a try!

Good Morning !

I did GS legs premix . Short & sweet !

Starting Christmas baking this morning . Snow coming tonight !!!
I hope it's a white Christmas !!!

Waving to everyone .......will try to get back later !
Becky

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe Christmas is next week. I still haven't picked up the spirit yet but maybe next week I will start getting in the mood. I am kind of frustrated because of the snow because I had planned to take my car in for routine service tomorrow so it wouldn't interfere with work. I moved it to Monday because yesterday I had a problem with it which will require them to order a part and the weather. I don't want to have to drive a rental car in the snow.

This morning's workout was HISM. It was easier than I thought. Now that STS Cardio is shipping I need to figure out my workouts for next week. I hope the snow doesn't delay my delivery on Monday.

Katie, I would have gone but I generally take more risks than I should with the weather. My reasoning is it will only snow tomorrow and I can back on Sun. And the weatherman tends to overforecast. Enjoy staying in and getting ready for the holidays!
Angie, safe travels!
Kate, good luck squeezing everything in today.
Nina, I make kale the same way as Wendy. All that rain is heading our way as snow!
Becky, enjoy your baking today. I think it will stay cold enough that we will still have snow on the ground for Cmas. Won't that be nice.
Wendy, I understand about not wanting to go out in the cold but I hope your meeting was good. I only worked 24 hours once right after graduating college. The $ was good. I stayed up for 24 hours traveling once to Hawaii and once to Vegas (well almost - I think it was 22 hours).
Anne, hopefully the merger will bring better benefits to you.
Klaudia, fritos are too terrible for you - they only have 3 ingredients so they are minimally processed right?
Lisa, I hope you survive furlough Friday.

Hey, guys, where's Robin? Has anybody heard from her? I'm sure she's working like crazy, I just hope everything's okay.

Colleen, I have no Christmas spirit either. I hope your car repairs are quick and inexpensive!

Becky, what are you baking? Sounds like fun.

Nina, think of me if you get to the library today. :p

Kate, you're always so busy! That's what life is like for a family of five, right?

Katie, I would use the weather as an excuse to stay home. But, that's just me.

Hi Klaudia and Wendy and Lisa!

Safe travels, Angie!

I had my books and beer holiday gathering last night. It was really nice, but I didn't realize it was a sit down dinner. I had to leave early to go to tap, so I felt bad. Plus I didn't want to eat too much because it's hard to tap on a full stomach. Of course, I ate too many nibbles before dinner, too. Ugh. I was so bloated by the time I got home.

Oh, well, today is a new day. My office is closing at noon for our holiday party. I hope I don't eat too much!

anne

Morning!

Just got back from another breakfast date with my mom friends. We were treated by our principal:) How nice is that? I had eggs, bacon and a bite of hash browns-and a banana before I went. Last night was a disaster-ended up eating my weight in McD's:eek::eek: And I didn't work out either. Today is yesterday's legs workout-I think either PLB or Plyo Legs. And I need to drink a lot of water to flush the bloat. Ugh. I need to step it up. At least almost all my shoping's done-spent 4 hours on Amazon yesterday. I just need to get some little stuff and I'm done! Going to my grandma's house tonight to spend some time with her while Darrin paints. And then the girls are staying the night at my mom's:)

Katie, glad to hear you're feeling better. I saw that weather report on the news. If you do decide to travel make sure you're uber prepared. I myself, would stay home-hate driving in those conditions.

Kate, have fun at the party!

Nina, I may need to start doing cardio every day-and I hate cardio. But my eating has been just terrible lately. Your days are filled with so much-how do you do it?! I love gingerbread-with lemon icing:)

Becky, happy baking!

Colleen, ha! Good thing they were snack packs of Fritos and not a regular bag! I haven't got a shipping notice yet for STS Cardio-hope it's soon!

Anne, I saw Robin post on FB about being sore all over-probably busy with work. If I told you what I ate last night, your bloat is nothing in comparison! Have fun at the party and think of me before you eat!

Wendy, I'll post that popcorn recipe in a minute:) How'd your meeting go?

Angie, are you here yet?

Hi Lisa and Robin!

Anne,

I made Oreo balls (family favorite), espresso chocolate chip cookies (new for me, found on OD cookie exchange), snicker doodles and russian tea cakes. Still will make more but I am done for the day or ate least for now.
I usually make fudge too and hard candy......DS has already requested it so I guess I can't skip it even though I was thinking about it. ; )

our ginger bread and gingerbrad cookies came out awesome!! i highly recommend the mix. we went to story hour at the library and that was fun. lunch at home, then melt down city for finn:( he is watching a leap video now before he has to lie down with me. i never went to the gym as it was raining too hard this am, and fla drivers are awful in the rain - no point in risking it.

klaudia, are you still chugging water? what will you and darrin do withou the girls tonight??

anne, is your party at a restaurant or at work? and i loved our library day today:)

colleen, hope car repairs go okay.

katie, what did you decide to do?

becky, can you tell me how to make oreo balls? i have been lurking that cookie thread on od wayyy too much. i am trying snickerdoodles next week - we are going to my neighbors (one who has kids and nonbreakable stuuf;)) on christmas eve and i neev to bring cookies.

okay, need advice. i am having a bad time mentally with my dad. i have tried to let go of anger, etc. but, he and my mom had mediation to settle money issues last friday. what does he do after? he take the girlfriend to new york for 4 days! sorry, but my mom was a wreck, and he seems to go celebrate. anyways, now he is back and wants to see the boys. i invite him for dinner sat night. no, he does not want to, but he will come sundaymorning. i asked if he could come early and watch the boys while i go for a run. well, he does not want to rush over, will be here more like 10:30ish. well, i feel like saying, don't bather. kids eat lunch by 12 and go to bed by 12:30. i am just sulking i guess. i want him to pick me over her is the bottom line, but i guess it does not work that way. i just want to say "see you after the holidays, i am too emotional." does that make any sense? sorry for the long ramble.

lisa, how are you? please pop in to say hi

Nina, I'm sorry I really don't have advice for you. To me if it is that stressful, maybe it's best avoided ???

Oreo balls are so simple . and SO good.
you need :
a package of oreo cookies
8 ounces cream cheese
crush oreos (I use a food processor) add in and mix the cream cheese

roll into small balls, dip into chocolate
for the chocolate you can use dipping chocolate or chocolate chips or even white chocolate.
I use Ghirardelli dipping bar.

Hope you like them:)
