Ah! Good morning! It's good to be home! Vacationing at someone else's house was rather difficult in relation to the clean eating. Wow...some people's ideas of healthy..............but, we had a good time and I did the best I could under the circumstances.

We have company for the next couple of days starting tonight. Another hurdle to face, but I'm up for the challenge!

Today will be Clean! I can't wait for my fave breakfast - Kashi & a banana!!!!!!! I've missed it so much! Right now I'm drinking my water - hurray! I didn't even have THAT on vaca! Their ice machine was broke and drinking uniced water for some reason makes me feel sick. (anyone else feel that way?) So, on so many levels, it's good to be home!

I'm not sure about the rest of the day, but it definetly will be clean. I likely will not get an official workout in, but I'll be cleaning like mad for our company so hopefully that counts a little bit.

Yesterday I did UB from BM2. My DD (5) wanted to do an "heavy weights" workout. She couldn't wait for her sister to take her nap so we could go downstairs to lift. It was so cute. She has her own 1s, 3s, and 5s and I tell her which ones to use. It's too cute! At one point Cathe said something like "Pull hard" and she yelled back " I am Cathe!" Cracked me up! It was so nice to get weights in during the day! I almost always do it after they go to bed at night so that was a real treat.

Well, a clean day to you all! I'll be back later to see who's around. Have a great day!

Hi Ladies

Kate- your DD is so cute trying to keep up with Cathe. You must take pictures of her using her 1# weight. I also can not stand room temp. water, not even seltza water. It needs to be iced and with some type of flavor (lemon, lime). Welcome back.

Phyllis- take clean living one day at a time. Yesterday, while watching All My Children, I fell off the wagon and had four oatmeal cookies (no not the low fat ones):( .
Oh well today is another day.

Fluids- 60-80 oz

B-Kashi with blueberries
S-Banana
L-chicken and green salad
S-protein bar 1/2
D- ??
S-1/2 apple and raisons

W/O: High Step Training 1 hour (whew it was hard!)

Hello Clean and tidy ladies!
Welcome back Kate!! Good to hear you had a good time. It is funny what others think is healthy, or scary!
I'm off to my usual start, Oatmeal, hemp, berries, almond milk. The fruit is so amazing in the summer.
I'm going on the roadtrip and i'm starting to get really nervous! I dont know why!
workout tonight, cardio only DM/abs, and standing lower from B&G.
Have a great day everyone, will BBL
Steph

Phyllis & Stephanie, I'm so jealous you get to go on the RT! I wish I were going! Seems like it would be good motivation to get in super-shape!

I'm so enjoying my ice-cold ice water! I have drank (& peed!) so much since I've been home!

I can't wait to eat some more! I ate fairly tidy on vacation but I missed my clean foods like crazy.

Well, DDs are dancing to a Wiggles CD...need to join them to sneak in the cardio!

Welcome back, Kate! Too cute about dd. Right now my dd's are having a *fashion show* on my step w/ their Polly Pockets. It's a perfect *runway* for their dolls!! ;-) It's always good to be home, I agree! I always pack my Kashi cereals in baggies when we travel so I can at least have my fiber & good carb if I'm in a pinch and there are no other healthy choices!

My day wasn't great y'day, had a few honey wheat pretzels dipped in NM PB, but not terrible either. I got in a 13.5 mile bike ride last night too so I burned off the pretzels. :p I also had to take my 8yo dd to the Dr.- she has tonsillitis!! The Dr. said her tonsils are VERY swollen (I knew that, she was crying about how bad it hurt to swallow!) so she's on a steroid + antibiotic. Poor kid!!

Liquids ~ 30 oz water, cup of coffee

And my plan for the rest of the day.

Breakfast ~ Protein pancakes + NM PB + berries

Snack ~ Yogurt + berries

Lunch ~ Veggie frittata (kinda like an omelet but w/ egg whites & baked)

Snack ~ Kashi GoLean + berries

Dinner ~ Chicken breasts over salad, baked sweet potato

I guess I am unique because I don't like my water ice cold. I guess I learned to drink room temperature water in college(the dorms did not have ice machines) after 15 years I still like my water closer to room temp. I do like a little chill to water but I don't like it ice cold.

Here's the plan for today:

B: Shredded wheat w/ almonds
L: Salmon cakes w/ cabbage salad, banana
S: kashi granola bar, berries
D: WW pasta w/ meatballs, salad

Have a clean day!

Good Morning, All!
I'm looking forward to getting back on track with the clean eating. We just got back from a vacation, and as you know it's not easy to eat clean when you're eating out all the time. Today I had scrambled egg whites and wheat toast for breakfast. Lunch will be a whole-wheat wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled chicken, and some berries for snack. Dinner--probably spaghetti made with wheat pasta, and I'll try not to eat a big portion! We've been back home for a couple of days, and it took me two days to start to "crave" my healthy foods again. I was almost to the point during our vacation that the "unclean" foods tasted better than the good stuff! I can see how people get conditioned to prefering certain foods. Anyway, this morning I did PUB, and it felt great! I'll be back later. Have a good day.

Hey all clean and tidy earters,

Welcome back to the vacationers!:)

I'm feeling beter than yesterday. I did balance core (3rd premix on CM) and 1/2 hr of absolute kickboxing.

I ran out of eggs. Trying to substitue good proteins. My DS got braces put on Mon. He needs soft foods to eat. The problem is he perfers the texture of harder foods and is picky.

Eating Plan:

B:multigrain cereal,skim,strawberries,cottage cheese
S:1/2 banana,crispbread,cottage cheese strawberries
L:shrimp, red pepper hummus, spinach, yellow peppers, mango, flat bread
S:strawberry mango protein shake
D:multigrain spaghetti not sure what else
S:probably same as morning one

Have a great day!!

Elaine

I cannot say enough how nice it is to check in and "see" everyone!

Jess, I'd love your veggie fritata recipe too. Also your protein pancakes. I have a *small* (haha) addiction to trying new recipes! DH sure doesn't mind! Sorry to hear about your daughter.

AM snack was apple slices and almonds.
Lunch: Spag sauce & meatballs over corn and g&y peppers. It was so good. I don't even miss the pasta. I would make ww pasta but the fam turns their noses up at it. Bummer. I sneak in ww lasagna noodles to them though! Teehee.

So wishing I could workout today. I have no time to do it before company gets here and they are "in my space" to work out tonight. CleanMax will have to suffice. While they are here though I have a heavy, late-night scrapbooking session planned w/ my sis. Maybe I'll get a small arm workout reaching for my stickers and markers all night! I wish!

Dinner will be tidy. I'm grilling cheeseburgers. I'll have meat w/ no cheese or bun or any condiments. Also corn on the cob. Fam wants homemade macaroni which I'm planning to NOT EAT. I'm also making this yummy salad with romaine, sliced Gala apples, and dried cherries. A friend made it recently and it was awesome. Sounded really wierd but I didn't want to offend her and not eat it. So glad I don't like salad dressing!!! Also serving/eating watermelon. Man, I'm gettin' hungry!

I made a chocolate cream pie for desert for our company. Wish me luck! Yeah, right! I sampled a spoonful from the bowl. You bet I'm having some!!!! It was awesome (new recipe).

Have a good afternoon!

Hey Kate! I posted the protein pancake recipe a few days ago. Let's see..

Protein Pancakes

1/2 c. old fashioned oats
1/2 c. cottage cheese
6 egg whites (I use 3-4 egg whites or 1/2 c. eggbeaters)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon or pumpkin spice mix
(I also add 1 T. wheat germ, 1 T. ground flax)

Grind oats in blender until flour-like consistency. (I use a little handy chopper)

Add egg whites, cottage cheese and seasoning and blend until batter-like consistency.

Cook in non-stick pan over medium heat. Makes about 3 pancakes,

I top mine w/ NM PB, but you can use whatever toppings you like.

As for the frittata, no real *recipe*. I make it w/ whatever veggies I might have on hand. Put a little drizzle of olive oil (or just use Pam) in an 8" ovenproof omelet pan. Saute your veggies (I like to buy the frozen bags of stir fry veggies or use what you like), about 2 cups or so of veggies. Or sometimes I'll make it w/ spinach & mushrooms. Cook til they veggies are almost done, then add in either 3-4 egg whites or 1/2 c. of eggbeaters. Cook til set on the bottom. Then I pop it in the oven on broil & you can also top w/ cheese if you like (I like mine w/ FF feta). You could also add in some canadian bacon or lean meat if you like. It's really yummy! HTH!

That salad sounds yummy. My Mom makes a similar one w/ spinach, strawberries, grapes, & raspberries & topped w/ feta, walnuts, & a raspberry vinaigrette. YUMMY! That choc. cream pie sounds divine!

A little change in plan, but still clean food!

Breakfast & snack were as planned.

Lunch ~ Big salad w/ romaine, cucumbers, broccoli, 3oz chopped salmon, 1/2 c. chickpeas, & red wine vinaigrette; and half of my dd's nectarine.

Then after being outside w/ dd's I had a Sugar free Fudge stick (not bad at 50 cals, 0g fat + 4g fiber).

Dinner ~ Decided to make chicken w/ tomatoes. Very easy, just chicken breasts cooked w/ garlic, onion, and diced tomatoes w/ green chilis. (and some other spices- chili, garlic, & onion powders, whatever you like) You can put it all in the crockpot for an easy dinner. Cook & either serve in tortillas like a fajita, or over salad. Also really good over brown rice. My dh loves them w/ sour cream, cheese, & guacamole also. (gotta love those dh's that eat what they like! :p )

Thanks Jess for the frittata idea. I'll make mines with egg whites and veggies and my kids with whole eggs and canadian bacon. They don't eat clean like me, yet.

Hi gang! Wow, I feel like I've missed a ton, a bunch of new faces here this past week! Hey, the more the merrier :7. I'm sorry I've been kind of MIA since I got back from my vacay to Maine....lotsa lobster, steamers, assorted seafood, tried to go easy on all that butter :p! Believe me when I tell you the hotel fitness room saw a lot of me for those few days, especially the treadmill.

I have to admit that I, too, am very jealous of Phyllis and Stephanie! Although......did I catch wind of a couple of people flying in early and catching Cathe's Friday am step class? If that's the case I would love to meet some of you guys. I've been thinking of taking a day trip down there (I'm only about 2 hours away) and thought that might be the perfect opportunity? With that in the back of my mind, I've been staying extremely clean this week.

B - spinach and mushroom egg white omelette
S - steelcut oats with blackberries
L - salad with shrimp, cottage cheese, banana
S - celery with natural PB, cherries
D - jerk chicken, smashed plantains, steamed broccoli
S - maybe some plain yogurt with blueberries while watching "So You Think You Can Dance"

Good to "see" everyone again!
