Morning Chatty Cathes!

I didn't sleep well last night - mostly because I was thirsty but refused to get out of bed to go get some water. I think I'm just not drinking enough during the day.

I did not WO this AM... still babying my foot but I think it will be up for some low impact tomorrow. Maybe a walk tonight. But I am feeling some great DOMS from PUB! Good times!

Girls are home today. We just finished watching HSM 3... I'm such a sucker for those things. I **love** musicals! We're going to run out for a bit and pick up a few things but it's kind of a rainy day... just want to stick around.

I made blueberry muffins this morning (from a box...) but Ellie at 5 of them! I had one and then my usual egg on toast. I'm determined to keep it clean today! Feeling mushy.

Sorry for not checking-in much yesterday for all of you, almost yesterday for me. I went running at the park and I was feeling so great because I was shaving off more time on my laps by 30sec to a minute then I stepped in a hidden hole in the grass and twisted my ankle. I was so mad. I knew it was twisted, but because it felt like a minor twist I kept running another four laps. Dumb I know, but I knew my cardio will be on hold for the rest of the week so I did it while it wasn't all swelled up yet. So that was my day and now I'm limping. I will be focusing on ub weights which is actually a good thing since now I'm forced to focus on the weights. I did tri's after my run then had to elevate and ice my ankle. I'll read yesterday's posts and be back for personals in the morning. Oh and eats have been clean and now I have to be vigilant since my wo's for the rest of the week will be limited due to the ankle.

Angie, LOL at Ellie eating 5 muffins! Collin loves blueberries - when I buy them, he will sit on the couch and eat them while watching tv like they are a bag of chips!

Need to get moving - this morning will be about a one mile wu run, then ub weights (STS). I am working on increasing my mileage by adding a fourth day of running.

Lisa, I guess it's goodnight. I'm so sorry about your ankle! I hope that when you wake up it's all better and no big deal. I suppose you should give it a day or two and focus on weights.

Katie, Ellie loves blueberries too and she would eat an entire large container in one sitting. Good luck with your mileage increase! You're going to do great with that 1/2 marathon!

Kate, good morning. Glad your girls are enjoying each other. Mine are too for the most part. How's the boob today? Any fever or anything? Sorry about the durango. What's wrong with it?

SO, I'm really annoyed with my foot. It doesn't seem to be going away but it's only kind of noticeable. I'm not sure what to do. I don't think I've been staying off it enough so I'm hoping to keep off of it for the rest of the afternoon. I wanted to take the girls out but I don't think I should do that. UGH. I just want to be well and workout consistently for more than 3 weeks.

awesome 10 mil run this am outside. trying to fit it all in a s dh leaves friday for a week:( also did core, and will do legs later. i was really clean yesterday and am feeling so much better. i "wanted" to eat lots of cookies and cake, but i had a small bowl of fiber 1 and felt better.

Morning! I dragged my butt out of bed and did Disc 2 STS, back and tris- good workout. I could tell I had been slacking off the past two weeks- really struggled with the pullups. DH uses an actual bar he installed and I have a woody band for it- had moved up from most resistance to middle but today I could have used the heaviest band. :( But anyway...

QVC is on right now. Can't wait to see Cathe!

Kate: For homemade recipes, I log the entire thing into myfitnesspal and then divide it up into the number of servings. The initial work of it is in the beginning but I have figured out most of my staple dinner recipes now. As for the body issues thing and the girls, I know. I hear you. DD is just 4 and I emphasize that we eat things that are healthy for our body, mommy exercises to be healthy and feel good, stuff like that. She doesn't ask about the armband but I know your girls are older. As for my family, they think I am nuts but they are usually too nice to say so. I get the too thin comments too, but I'm not (especially lately :p).

Morris: Incredible run as usual! I hear you on cookie / cake cravings. Sometimes I indulge and then I'm mad at myself. I have been focusing on upping my fat intake a bit (and cutting out diet soda) and seeing if that helps the cravings problem.

Angie: I hate injuries! :mad: It always seems to happen when I'm in a good place with working out too. Please be careful. I hear you on mushy but the past few days are helping me already. You can do it!

Lisa: Oh NO! I'm sorry about the ankle, but way to think of the positive of focusing on weights. Change is good that way.

Blueberries are very popular here too! Sometimes DS eats so many that his you know what is purple. It makes diaper changes FUN! :rolleyes:
 
Jai and Lorraine have been doing non stop squats and lunges of various kinds the ENTIRE segment- with the 10# vest! :eek: Of course they are smiling. :D
 
hellpppp - what to make for dinner? i have lots of leftover chredded chicken that is mildly taco flavored, but really mild. fam won't want mexican tonight.

Morning!

Stayed up late only to watch the Red Wings lose:( Then I had to console DH;) And now the Wings play game 7 on Friday night-at home! I'm thinking I will definitely be skipping that party. Darrin is going to tell his boss he can't go boating either. We love hockey, can you tell? Yesterday I did 4DS C/B and a 20 minute incline run/walk on the tm. I was able to go up in a few exercises and I can feel it today. I have cardio and abs on tap today-either kickbox or boot camp of some sort. Eats were good til dinner-had pizza:( and some chocolate to console myself;) Ah, well. Today's a new day!

Angie, sorry about your foot. I agree with everyone here-have it looked at. We love blueberries here too. I just bought 2 big containers and may need to make some muffins with the girls:)

Lisa, sorry about YOUR ankle! Hope it heals quick! My girls love the HSM movies too. DD 9 is getting more interested in adult musicals now thak goodness:)

Kate, sorry about the no car. We are lucky enough to have my grandpa's car as a spare-my grandma never learned how to drive and when he died she just kept it-comes in handy. Hope the "bubby" feels better today! I was watching Real Housewives of NJ and that's what they call their bosoms:)

Patti, I wish I could get my butt out of bed to workout! Ain't happening! We have a makeshift pull up bar Darrin built-it's an extra barbell that he suspended from 2"x4"s in the basement! I love doing pulls and chins. I try to add them in once a week-P90X did that to me:) Great job on avoiding the pop.

Klaudia: BB muffins sound delish! I have a recipe I changed a bit from Oxygen magazine- posted below. It makes 12 huge muffins- just in case you need a recipe. ;) You can use sugar or agave nectar instead of Splenda of course but stats will change.

Morris: No to enchiladas? How about a soup with broth, quinoa, cut up veggies? Or pasta bake mexican style with a can of diced tomatoes, some enchilada sauce / salsa, beans and WW pasta?

Blueberry Bran Muffins

Makes 12 big muffins

1 cup Fiber One Cereal
1 cup oat bran
1 ½ cups non fat plain yogurt
½ cup flax seed meal
1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
½ cup old fashioned oats, dry
½ cup – ¾ cups Splenda
1 Tbsp. baking powder
2 tsps. Baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
½ cup skim milk
5 Tbsp. egg whites
¼ cup olive oil
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
2 cups frozen blueberries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine Fiber One cereal, oat bran, flax seed meal and yogurt in a bowl and let sit for 10 minutes. In another bowl, mix flour, oats, splenda, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add milk, oil, applesauce, egg whites and vanilla to bran mixture. Stir in blueberries and fold into flour mixture. Spray muffin tins with Pam and bake for 20 minutes.

Entire recipe:

2442 calories / 358 carbs / 88 fat / 91 protein / 96 fiber

Each muffin (makes 12):
204 calories / 30 carbs / 7 fat / 8 protein / 8 fiber

Klaudia, we watched the game last night too. Somehow I didn't think they were going to win it all last night, I just had a feeling it would go to game 7. It'll be better to win it at home anyway, right?

Kate, sorry about the boob. What did you have for breakfast?

Morris, what about stir fry? I do that a lot with shredded chicken. Just throw whatever vegetables I have in a pan, saute them, add the chicken to warm it up and serve it over brown rice. Or, this is a great recipe: saute onion and garlic, then add the chicken and saute that too. Cook penne pasta (or whatever you have) according to package directions. Combine the veggies, chicken, and pasta and add pesto sauce, feta cheese and toasted pine nuts. Very yummy. One of DH's favorites.

Patti, great work out this morning! And way to go on the no pop! (I'm from the Midwest, too.) As I sit here sucking down a Coke Zero.

Lisa, I'm so sorry about your ankle! I twisted mine once when I fell off the front of my step. I thought I was going to die. I tend to be a tad melodramatic...

Okay, I didn't run last night. I'm a bad person, which you guys already know. It just sounded dreadful, so I did what I wanted which was a bike ride. I went 8 miles in 39:12, then an easy half mile home. And it helped. I had cramps before I left and it totally relieved them. And I am going running tonight. Did I tell you guys about the running buddy I found? She doesn't mind my slowness, just likes company on long runs. We're going to do 5 miles tonight. Should be fun!

Patti, thanks for that recipe! I have everything but the Fiber One and the oat bran:( I'll have to put those on my list. And yes, I'm very proud to say I can do unassited pulls and chins! I can do a set of 9-10, then it drops to 6-8 per set, and so on. I couldn't do any pull ups and only a couple chins before I started P90X. That's why my back is my favorite body part:)

Anne, I'm already worried about the game:( When I was younger, I used to get sick to my stomach during the playoffs. I'm not as bad now, but still get butterflies when I watch. Nice bike ride! I'm looking forward to doing that with the girls this summer now that Milla can ride a two wheeler:)

patti, how do you do assisted chins? i am not klaudia, but i can usually bang out 6-7 unassisted, then less and less. would love to know how to assisit. do you guys plan to have more kids? nosy, i know. that is me:D

boys are being so good, weather still sucks, but i did ba ndg standing work only with minimal to no weights. felt good. eats are clean so far, and i am feeling really good despite hormones.
